| | NEWT Potions Lesson One
ooc: Please note that this class is intended for sixth and seventh years only. Other classes will be held for Beginner (1st through 3rd years) and OWL (4th and 5th years) levels. The smell of wafting potion fumes assails you as you enter the classroom. There is an unattended cauldron sitting on the professor's desk, with a green potion bubbling serenely within. There is no sign of the headmaster. As you take your seat, assuming of course that the often lost professor has been delayed coming back from the loo, you look up and find a message scrawled upon the blackboard in Headmaster Bontecou's messy scrawl: Quote:

ooc FYI (so you know the outcome of anything you characters might try to do but please remember this is OOC info only!!! Your characters won't know these things unless they look/smell/taste/whatever): The potion is green, it smells like clean freshwater, tastes salty (your character will get a tummy ache, become light headed and possibly faint if they drink it), explodes when dropped, feels slippery and makes your fingers tingle when touched with the fingers (toes if you touched it with toes, etc).
I will be coming back to run a traditional part of class when I get a chance. |

| *randomly tagged* | Norbert(a) | The Wandmaker (tm) Even through the foggy haze of some obscure reaction to a potion ingredient, Aggie could sense the sudden serious turn in the classroom. A patronus had arrived. She'd never seen one this close before. It was quite intimidating. Its message was worse then she could have imagined it.
“T-t-tobi,” she stammered trying to get her laughter under control. She tugged on his pants leg, much the same way a 3 year old would. She was suddenly worried. He had a very unhappy look about him and when Tobi was unhappy looking, you knew there was big trouble. Tobi was a naturally happy person. “Are you alright? I need some air.”
Aggie figured air would clear her head and stop her giggling. She crawled to her knees and grabbed hold of stool to pull herself up. The patronus had disappeared by this time. She grabbed hold of the despondent looking Tobi’s arm and gave it a squishy hug. “You don’t think it’s anyone we know do you?” she whispered, leaning her temple against his bicep.

Qaz couldn't believe her eyes...a Patronus! Her awe suddenly turned cold when she heard what it said. A student dead. It must be somebodies idea of a joke....in very poor taste, indeed.
The Headmaster seemed to believe it though. She barely caught what he said about homework as he dashed from the room.
That was enough for her. 'I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm heading back to my Common Room...better safe than sorry.' and she took off running.

The chaos in the classroom seemed to freeze as a silver patronus flew into the room. It opened its mouth and spoke...
Ludo's eyes went wide with horror. Dead? A student? HOW?
It wasn't safe here. He watched as the Headmaster gave them an order and left very quickly. "Let's go everyone! We've gotta move." he said reaching Liz and taking her arm. He pulled out his wand for precaution and headed for the door, dragging her with him. "Can Anna make it?" he called once he reached the door.

| Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict Elizabeth's eyes had widened as a Patronus had flown into the classroom. Who has a Patronus of a winged horse?, she wondered, until she heard the message it gave the headmaster. Wait. A dead student. In the library? And that sounded kind of like Professor Kazimeriz, she thought, before she suddenly found her arm being grabbed. Looking over as she was dragged to her feet, she saw Ludo. She had seconds to grab her school bag, and barely had gotten it swung over her shoulder when he dragged her to the door.
She was grateful for the fact her wand was still out, as the general feeling in the room was one of panic and fear. And apparently Ludo was going to take her somewhere out there. If he was going all the way to their common room, they were going to have to go past the library, and she suddenly hoped they weren't going to end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Cause odds were, if the professors didn't know who or what had killed the student, whoever or whatever it was might still be in the school.
As Ludo asked about Anna, she looked at the prefect, then at Aggie and her friend. The only other two people she was absolutely positive were Gryffies. "I'm sure someone can help her," she told Ludo, before glancing at the Gryffies again. "Right? Aggie? Um, Aggie's friend?," she kicked herself for not knowing his name. "Anyway, can you make sure Anna gets out? Or, find someone who can?" Where was Cale?

Peeves may have been heartless when it came to Moaning Myrtle...not that he had a heart anyway...but he knew that a student death was a serious occurrence. "Yessah!" he said, saluting the Headmaster of Hoggy Warty Hogwarts.
A mission! Squeee!! This would be good. He zoomed off (riding the pink thestral, of course), knocking over a few potions in the process, singing his own theme song - a collection of various notes and melodies that did not go together very well at all. "Giddyap, you!" he shouted to the thestral.
