Lana raised her hand to answer Professor Antonio's question "Where I live its always hot so most of the muggle boys wear swim shorts and possibly a t." If this was how the class was going to go she would do great, she loved fashion. "For me it depends on the day, most of the muggle schools have activities they expect you to join in so mostly its jeans, a t-shirt, and sunglasses. But if it wasn't to school it's a completely different case." |

"Very true, some schools don't require a uniform. My old school had different uniforms, one for the fall and winter and one for spring and summer. You could wear them interchangably. I guess that it depends on where you are and like Lana said what activity is happening for events." Chalice said in responce to Lana's remark. |
Raising her hand, Liz replies "I have a muggle friend down the street from where I live. Her mom always makes her wear long frilly dresses. I don't know if that would seen right, though... I don't think I'd much like to have to always wear dresses, jeans and t-shirts seem fine to me." |
"I prefer jeans and t-shirt better too, but depending on where you are and what your enviroment is like dresses can be very appropriate." Chalice said to Liz and waving. |
Livvy shuddered at the thought of wearing dresses. Ew... "I would just wear normal clothes. In other words.. jeans.. and a t-shirt. Nothing too formal or something that seemed like you were just hit by a hurricane," she said, nodding her head. |
"Yeah, and that is normal, for most. Like I said sometimes dresses and torn clothes are what is in, what is socially acceptable to wear. Like wizards and robes." |
Looking at Chalice, and smiling. " I don't know, but I did hear that you can actually buy clothes that have actually been torn already! Now why would anyone want to spend so much, for torn clothes?" |
Livvy nodded and thought about what Chalice said. "Yeah.. in some places. Dresses is what is polite and normal to do. Sometimes might even bring shame upon the family if they wore torn up clothes or such careless clothing. While other places, it's just normal to wear such torn up clothes.. because that's just how it's like there." She chuckled at what Liz. "I know! Back where I live. People buy them because it's just the latest fashion." |

Antonio realized that time was going by very quickly. "What I would like to do is go ahead and assign homework now," he said. "I hope all of you continue to play around with these materials, become familiar with the different currency exchanges and how they fluctuate and with current muggle fashion as well. I will leave the classroom open for a while so that you may study in here, and points will be posted up later." Quote:

Cadence raised her hand, hoping participation would keep them from losing points. She wanted to weigh in on the uniform vs. non-uniform schools. Professor, if I may, I know this wasn't the question, but I wrote a paper at my muggle school about schools that don't have uniforms. Most schools with uniforms say, as one of my classmates already pointed out, that it helps erase the boundaries of social class within schools. Others say, though, that they choose uniforms because clothing, or lack thereof, causes distractions. Many schools without uniforms, though, say that a student's clothing is a form of self-expression and, as long as it is appropriate for school, they should be allowed to express themselves in this manner. Also, these schools say it is argueable that uniforms erase the divisions of social classes because many students still have to buy their uniforms secondhand and in various worn conditions. I don't mind wearing a uniform though, because then I don't have to worry about deciding what to wear in the morning. |
Lasca shook her head at them all. She raised her hand hesitantly. She had spent all her life around wizards and witches, and had very little contact with muggles. In Transylvania most of the time the girls wore dresses, although they would also wear black pants with high heeled boots if they deemed it appropriate. "I would much rather wear a long skirt, or black slacks with my high heeled boots. Witches robes are comfortable to me as well. I am curious though..." She hesitated but asked anyway. "What are jeans?" |
Chris stood up and walked overto the Professor's desk. "That was a great lesson Professor! Can't wait to figure out what the Final surprise will be. Last years Carnival was so fun. See you next class." and he wrote down the homework and left. |
"Because it is fashion. You can buy clothes like that, I have some up in the Gryffindor girls dorm. People find some style that they like and if enough people like it, clothes companies make clothes to follow that. People were into torn jeans and shirts so clothes companies started making shirts and jeans with tears in them." Chalice said smiling back at Liz. |
Looking up when the professor mentioned homework. Liz looks over at Chalice, "Would you like to work together on this for awhile?" she asks with a smile. "We haven't really seen much of each other since the feast." |
Kait raised her hand and said, "Sir, I'd probably just wear jeans and a comfy t-shirt, or pajama pants for when I have nothing going on." |
Cadence wrote down the homework and packed up her things. She turned to Ana, Melanie, and Set. I think we're supposed to meet the Prefect in the common room. She took a deep breath. Come on, let's go. |
Lana laughed at Liz's response. "Where I'm from it's just the style, you know the way people do things, you would be surprised at some of the muggle clothing I've seen. Some muggles go to extremes, like wearing plastic cards, or bird feathers." |
Barry looked up at the professer and smilled .He wrote the homework and left as fast his legs could carry him without running |
Livvy wrote down some notes and glanced at the homework. She packed up her things and smiled at the professor as she stood up. "Thank you Professor. See you later!" Livvy said and left the classroom. She'll do the homework in the library. |
Jack stared at the homework "No!" he said out loud "Sorry, professor, I can't do this maths thing!" he told him. |
Varius took note of the homework and packed his things away. He would make sure to look over these resources more thoroughly at another point in time, however, he had a runic alphabet to create and it wasn't going to do it itself! Despite how hard he tried to charm his quill. |

Qaz wrote down the homework assignment, and now that class was over, blew a huge bubble and let it pop. Gathering up her belongings, she said 'Nice lesson, Professor.' |
Dominic quickly wrote the homework down onto his parchment and slipped his belongings into his bag. Swinging it over his shoulder, he nodded politely at the Professor, thanking him, before dashing off towards the common room. There was going to be some serious yelling later... |
