Muggle Studies Lesson 1 - Currency Conversion and Muggle Fashions Antonio walked into the classroom, getting things ready for the students ahead of time. There were two differrent subjects he wanted to cover in today's lesson, so he knew that time was of the essence. The first part of the lesson was going to focus on currency conversion, so he began to get his materials out for the students as they entered the room. The first item was a converter chart which would convert wizarding money into United States dollars - Harry Potter currency converter The second item was another converter chart, this one converted the British pound, the U.S. dollar, the Canadian dollar, the Euro dollar, the Australian dollar and the Japanese yen back and forth into one of the other type of currency. Currency Converter - Yahoo! Finance There were other types of currency in the world, of course, but Antonio had found these sources easy to work with and thought the students would be able to use the materials easily in class. He waited for the students to show up, calling out instructions to each person as they entered. "Good morning, everyone. We are going to be working with a couple different things today, but the first part deals with currency. Please take one of each of the two handouts as you enter, then take a seat and we'll be getting ready soon. Feel free to take a chocolate chip cookie, as well, and perhaps some pumpkin juice." He gestured to the serving area to the side of his desk. |
Chris walked in with a smile. "Good Morning Profesor Dumont. How are you? Did you have a good break over the summer?" He grabbed the two handouts and then walked over to the side table with refreshments. "These cookies are amazing!" he said after tasting one. "Thank you." he then took his things to a desk in the front of the class, excited to begin. |
Elizabeth walked into Muggle Studies to see the professor already inside, with handouts and food. Smiling at him, she went over to pick up the handouts. "Good morning, Professor Dumont," she greeted, before looping back around to take a cookie on her way to a desk. Then she sat down and glanced at the handouts, before taking a delicate bite out of the cookie as she returned her gaze to the front of the classroom. |
Kaytee walked into the Muggle Studies classroom cheerfully, then paused to listen to the professor's instructions. Obeying, she walked up and grabbed both handouts. "Good morning yourself, Professor," she said happily, "and thank you for the cookies." She grabbed one and took a seat near the front of the class. |
"'Sup, Professor?" Clifford grinned enthusiastically as he entered the Muggle Studies classroom and picked up the handouts. "I see you got all that ink out of your hair." He chuckled lightly at the rather strange memory. That Peeves dude was a nutter. Getting himself a generous amount of cookies, he dropped into a seat closer to the front of the classroom and shuffled around getting comfortable. |
Cadence entered the classroom with her usual bouncing walk. She had been most excited for this class because she had been in the odd position of living in the Muggle world, but also knowing she was a witch and living with a witch her whole life. This was going to be positively wonderful. She picked up the two hand outs and smiled at Professor Dumont as he said she could take a cookie and juice and happily took both. She walked to a desk right in front of where the Professor's desk was and sat down, waiting for one of her friends to come and join her, hoping they didn't mind sitting in the front. She looked up at the professor. Hello Professor! How are you today? |
Jack sauntered into the room "Morning!" he called out to Dumont as he sat at the back |
Miranda wandered into the classroom, slightly wide-eyed. She was still learning to find her way around. "Good morning, Professor," she said as she took the handouts (and a cookie) and settled into a seat near the front. She knew almost NOTHING about Muggles, so this class would be interesting. |

Miles grinned as he walked in and saw cookies and drinks. One of many reasons why Professor Dumont was awesome. He took one of each, and sat down at the front. He also took a hand out, which looked a little odd, even though Miles had always known that Muggles had different money to them. |
Barry walked in and smilled "Its nice to see you again professer" he said and he took a seat in the middle and had a look at todays work but not before taking a cookie. He still liked sugar just not as much as Cela |
Rachel walked into Muggle Studies, excited. This was going to be her first lesson after a whole complete year and a half of not being with muggles. She grabbed the handouts and inconspicuously took a cookie too and made for her customary seat at the front of the classroom. As she leafed through the pages, she wondered whether she will still be good at this subject. Oh seriously, Rachel! You were a muggle for almost 11 years of your life; of course you're going to be knowledgeable on this subject! "Good morning to you too, Professor," she called out, suddenly remembering that she hadn't answered when she had walked in. "How was your summer?" she asked with a smile, her mind already drifting towards the topic of today's lesson as she gazed around the familiar classroom. |
Nikita made her way into the Muggle Studies classroom, and seeing that Professor Dumont had plenty of people greeting him already, gave a small, thin smile to him instead. Her first stop was to get the treats, although she wasn't hungry, and took a cookie and a large glass of pumpkin juice. During the summer, pumpkin juice was one of the things she missed most - the Campbells felt that it was too simple a drink for home. She snatched up the two handouts quickly and got out of the way, glancing at them as she made her way to her preferred seat: second from the back, closest to the wall. Her parents had begged her to drop this particular class, and for that reason alone Nikita had remained in it. Muggles did not particularly fascinate her; they were merely witches and wizards who had to work a bit harder to get through life. |

*squeals* My first lesson with Linda!! LMAO! ;) Dominic saunters into the Muggle Studies classroom while listening to the Professor's instructions upon entering. On his way to his seat, the fifth year pauses and picks up the two handouts, shaking his head dismally at the cookies and juice, before strolling towards the middle. Currency. Money. This lesson might not be so bad after all! |
Tobi got to class on time, so far he was 3 for 3, and picked up the handouts and a cookie. Currency conversions? Well that's something he had a basic familiarity with, how interesting to do more work with it! He took a seat, nibbling on a cookie. "Hi Professor, Thanks for the cookies!" he said, making sure to swallow before he spoke. |

"Hey," She smiled at him a she sat down next to him. |
Muggle Studies. One of Nathaniels favorite classes. He walked in and saw what he needed for class. He picked that up along with some cookies and juice. Heck yes! Free food for the win. He spotted a seat in the back and sat down |
Jake made his way into the classroom, bypassing the food but picking up what he needed for the lesson. Then he spied Dominic and an evil look showed on his face as he sat next to him and grinned. |
Winnie could barely contain her glee. We get to have JUICE and COOKIES in class?! Smiling almost sheepishly at Professor Dumont, she took a choclate chip cookie and wrapped it in a napkin almost reverently, and sat in the middle of the classroom holding her cookie as if it were a precious gem. She unwrapped the cookie and began nibbling around the edge, turning it in her hands as she nibbled. Better make this baby last. She took no notice of the crumbs falling gently into her lap. |

His fourth class this semester, and Varius was more prepared than ever. No longer was he a virgin to how things were run in the classes of Hogwarts and he was more than prepared to help gain Hufflepuff even more house points! He picked up both of the handouts, staring at them with peculiarity and shaking them about to see if anything magical about them would occur... nada, to say the least. And snacks too! Varius helped himself to some cookies, filling up at least one of his robe pockets with them... AHEM. He took a seat, glaring at his handouts, wondering what on earth they did. Muggles were so silly, why couldn't they just have the same currency as the rest of the world... or the wizarding world at least. They were at least consistent, not this dollar, yen, pounds on different countries nonsense. |
