Turing to Helena Chase smirked. "Not really but I guess youll do." he said jokingly. "Well not that I have met you up fornt and close.. Im Chase." he said grinnign at her. He cocked an eyebrow at the smile she gave him. "Happy to see me really?" he asked a bit comical.

Helena laughed slightly at his comment and shook his hand. Yes, well, I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't be happy to see you Mr. I-do-believe-you-said-your-last-name-was-Matthews. She grinned. I'm Helena - well, Lena for short. She smiled and looked around the room; she didn't want it to look like she was staring at him.

Chase nodded at her. "Hey Lena. Now-that-we-are-finally-introduced. " he said mocking her. He looked where she looked. "What are you staring at?" he asked curiously. He didnt want to seem like a loiter in the library so he got up a moment and grabbed a book off the shelf and brought it back to the table with him. "Cant be looking suspicious/" he said with a grin t Lena.

Helena said vaguely, Hmmm....? and then watched as he went and got a book. She smiled. Aw.... we can't? Darn. Being suspicious is the only good thing I can do. She pouted slightly, then laughed.

Chase looked at her shakig his head. "I have only just met you and I do not think you can be suspicious." he said laughing. "But you havent answered my questin." he whispered and poiinted out at the room. "What were you looking at?"

Helena shrugged at his first words and then smiled at his re-asked question. She turned her head so she was looking directly into his eyes and said, Being completely honest? Anything but you. She then realized how bad that sounded - In a good way, though! I was afraid if I was looking at you I.... wouldn't.... stop. Helena smiled then looked away embarrassed.

Her statment had surprised him. He furrowed his eyebrows at her in confusion, then cocked and eyebrow. "Wait you what/" he asked in response. "I think you are blind m'am your eyes need to get fixed. Staring at me and never stopping?" he asked smirking. "I believe anyone can star and stop but I prefer not to be stared at. Im kinda self-conscious." he said jokingly. He didnt want her to to feel bad for admitting it

Helena's cheeks were still slightly red with a blush, and she continued to look at her hands folded in her lap rather than him. See? My point exactly.... Although you have no reason to feel self-conscious. She smiled, still looking away as possible.

Chase shook his head at her and chuckled. "No need to feel embarrassed." he tod her point blak. "I could care less if you called me the sexiest man on the planet.. I still wont believe you." he said truthfully. "Im not much for looks. I just like talking alot." he said nodding with a comical look on his face. "Now please. We need to study." he replied jokingl holding the book up and putting his feet on the table he leaned back in his chair and flipped through the pages of his book. He must have been leaning a little too far back because he could feel the chair slipping and managed to get out an OOOF when he hit the ground. He rolled over laughing

Helena rolled her eyes heavily but grinned. When he mentioned studying, she laughed --- until she gasped as he fell on the floor. She immediately knelt down beside him, saying frantically, Oh, my gosh. Are you okay? Wha--- And then she realized he was laughing. She rolled her eyes again before joining in.

Chase looked at her calming the fit of laugher. "Im fine Im fine," he got up and looked down at her laughing at him. "Going to sit there and laugh at me all night?" he asked though not that least bit embarrazzed. He was quite the klutz at times.

Helena was still laughing as he spoke and only just calmed herself enough to answer him. As long as that's alright with you. She smiled widely, her eyes going blue-gray and her face still holding the sense of laughter on it.

Chase shook his head. Girls and their laughter. he thought with a smirk. "Alright well while you sit there and laugh at me I will just make my way over there." he said pointing to a comfy looking chair about twenty feet away. He wiggled his eyebrows and walked over plopping down in the chair.

Helena shook her head and stood up. She calmed her laughter as she walked over behind him, picking up his chair and sitting it upright on the way. When she reached him sitting in the chair, Helena sat on the arm and looked out the window before sighing.

Chase looked over at her and sighed as well. Louder and more dramatic. He winked at her and laughed. "Why you sad?" he asked wondering if she was sad or just sighing.

Helena looked back at Chase, her eyebrows slightly raised. Do I seem sad? I'm sorry. I'm really not. Honestly. She smiled. Just thinking. I tend to do that a lot, she added then smiled at him again and looked back out the window, remembering what he said about being self-conscious.

Chase looked up at her. "Penny for your thoughts?" he asked thinking she might not know what a penny was since it was muggle moey. Many wizards didnt but maybe just maybe she did. he eyed her the way thesun was hittig her made her very pretty. He pulled the thought from his head nad went back to twirlin his wand,

Helena wasn't aware of his eyes on her again - she was too busy thinking, of course. She looked back at him with confused, light brown eyes. Sorry - again - but what exactly is that supposed to mean? She laughed slightly. Being here only a year, she had no idea of many English expressions - let alone muggle ones.

Chase laughed. He knew she probably didnt know what it had meant. "It means can u tell me what you are thinking." he said turning his body to face her so it would be easier to hear her.

Helena smiled and sighed again. Right. Of course. She sighed again - giving herself more thinking time. Well, my best friend moved away this summer, and I'm just wondering whether it'll still be the same. Being here, I mean. She sighed again and looked around wearily.

Chase felt bad for her. His best friend... well he didnt really have a best friend. "Im sawy." he sad giving her his best puppy dog face look. "Must be hard but hey you can always make more friends like.. Welll lookie here.. me!" he said giving her a bright smile. Hopefully this would make her feel a little better,

Helena couldn't help it, she laughed so hard when he made his puppy dog face - and his words! She absolutely died for laughing. Yeah, I was hoping we could be friends.... it's still just a little hard. He was my first best friend. She smiled, though she sighed slightly.

Chase kept the puppy dog look plastered on his face. It seemed to make her laugh. "O come on. Your still goin to write to him right? ANd... and.. youll get to see him over Christmas break." he said brighty smiling. "No need to be sad. And i not going to take his spot but Ill be here if you ever need a best friend." he said knowing this would be true even if they had just met.

Helena chuckled and smiled warmly at him. Yeah, I'll definitely write, but it's a 'no' when it comes to Christmas. I stay here. And summer's out too now that I live with my uncle. Really it's not a huge deal - I'd love to have you as a best friend. She was talking too fast, she knew it. Stopping and sighing, Helena had only just stopped herself from saying or more at the end of her little speech.

Looking at her Chase vowed to keep her from sighging so much. It was a mood breaker. "Hey hey now no sighing aorund me. I wont have it." he said winking at her. "Lets keep it to a one sigh per night." he said crakcing a smile. "And Ill be herewhen you need me but he was your best friend and me replacing him probably wont help much." he said still presenting a smile on his face.
