Oh, the smugness couldn't be contained and she smirked in a self-satisfied manner at Celandine's reaction. "According to Davis it's Charmed so it would never need polishing. I'm not entirely sure how true that is. I didn't put a picture inside," she pointed out with a sigh. "I think that's up to you." After all, Daphne wasn't sure who will Celandine want to treasure enough to put in her locket.

Pulling Cela's gift for her towards her, Hopton raised a brow at the leering snowman once more before plucking the bow off first, putting it aside. Carefully, she fiddled with the package, turning it every which way in search for the sticky tape. Peeling it off with manicured nails, Daphne worked slowly as she unwrapped.

As hideous as the paper was, she had a habit of keeping every piece of the gifts given to her inside a massive chest inside her closet. The pink immediately caught her eye and she blinked at it, lips forming a surprised vowel. "Jumping Purple Pixies! You did not!" exclaimed Daphne excitedly before stiffening in her seat. Perhaps that had been much too loud. Nodding repeatedly in approval, she picked up the small shovel. "You say this repels dirt?"

Oh, how infinitely easier gardening will be. Now she didn't have to make Davis dig out holes.

"Oh thats good because I would never polish it and it would get all dull and stuff." Celandine answered happily, "I wonder..." she opened the locket and looked inside, "two spaces for pictures."

Attention distracted by Daphne's exclamations, Cela answered cheerfully, "I did! It took me ages to get it right, you know so the tool thingies don't shoot dirt every which way. It just doesn't stick, really." Cela explained, taking in her friend's nods, "There are different kinds of seeds in the bottom too. Some magical some mundane and all labeled."

"Davis mentioned one that had forget me nots in the front, however I think that would be perhaps a bit too intense," remarked Daphne more for her benefit than Celandine's. Loyal and Eternal love seemed a bit much--although, she wasn't thinking of breaking up her friendship with Celandine any time soon. After all, they shared identical hair ribbons!

Picking up several packets, she fanned them out in her hands like one would a deck of cards, half of her face disappearing behind them as she pressed them so close to her face she was nearly kissing them.

Aconite. Screechsnap. Monkshood. Knotgrass.

"Thank you," she finally said from behind the hand of seed packets. "You're the best."

"I don't forget about my friends anyway." Cela frowned a little, "I even got something for Garret... but... well..."she shrugged helplessly.

Watching Daphne examine the seeds, Celandine was a bit nervous for a moment before Daffy thanked her, then a ridiculously bright smile slapped itself on her face, "I'm really glad you like it! Oh and I meant to tell you, they had it in horrible orange too!" Cela giggled, wondring why someone would want such a lurid colour when they could have pink which was clearly better.

"I need pictures for this now." Cela looked at her new locket speculatively.

Oh. Garret Crocker. The only thing Daphne had gotten Garret Crocker was a gift certificate at Madam Malkin's. "I haven't seen him in a while," remarked Daphne thoughtfully. Perhaps he was busy with school work or trying to keep his demon brother in line. That sounded plausible enough.

Folding the paper over and over, Daphne ran her hands over it, pressing and flattening as she worked until the wrapping paper now resembled a very thin folded blanket. "Ew," spoke Daphne with a crinkle of her nose. It wasn't that she disliked orange--Oh, very well she disliked it a lot! But pink was much nicer. "What kind of pictures?" asked Daphne inquisitively, placing her chin on her hand. "Are you going to put a leafy tree in there?"

"Me either." Celandine frowned, they still hadn't made up and Cel haaaaated not being bosom buddies with Garret Crocker. Even though she got to share a chocolate frog with Willie, so... at least there was still a Crocker in her mental buddy list. "I miss him a heap." Cela admitted freely, "Garret is really special. Even if he sometimes is a bit mean and stuff. He's a bunch of fun and almost as good at climbing trees and eating icecream as I am."

Cela thought about this for a moment before being distracted by Daffy's meticulous folding of the wrapping paper. Cel waved at the snowmen before answering the question, "Oh well... I don't know really. Not trees." She paused, "I have lots of friends but no pictures of any of them so I guess just whoever I get pictures of first. "

Daphne distractedly observed the ends of her hair. They needed some serious trimming. Sighing, silently she agreed in part with Celandine's declaration. Truth be told, she did miss that Butcher's Son and his charmingly brusque way of speaking. What she didn't miss was his degrading attitude towards their sex. HHHMMMPH! "If he comes around I'll give him his present," she mumbled sulkily, running her fingers through her hair as her nose flew into the air in the epitome of a snobbish socialite.

However, her interest was perked once more by her friend. Whoever she gets pictures of first...Sucking her teeth, Daphne clenched her fists. Why didn't she carry pocket pictures of herself with her at all times like her cousin Laura Dee? "If you want one of me you'd have to wait," remarked Daphne thoughtfully. She could always send for one at home, however they were outdated and she was even chubbier in those pictures than she currently was--her shoulders fell.

Maybe next year. "We could take pictures during the summer," she added reluctantly, not really intending to keep her part of the deal. "I think you should put one of Morgan in there," commented Daphne innocently pointing at the locket. After all, Plymouth was her boyfriend.

"So will I. If he ever apologises." Cela was sticking to her guns on the whole thing, even if she had gotten him a present and was totally wavering since she missed him a bundle.

"Oh I'd like photographs of you Daphne! I'd show everyone!" Because Daffy was awesome and Cel would quite happily share her awesomeness with the world.

"Thats a good idea!" Cela brightened, imagining super duper neat awesome photgraphs of the two of them, "Oooh! We could dress up and get a professional photographer in!" That would be neaaaaat!

Cela blinked, "Plymouth?" She cocked her head and thought about it, "I guess I could... hey! And one of Cope on the other side! Daffy you have the best ideas! I'd sooooo hug you if it wouldn't electrocute us!" Cela did hold out her hand though, pointing to the pink bracelet on her wrist that matched the hair ribbon perfectly, "Copernicus got me this for christmas."

Daphne smiled tensely. Oh, the last thing she wanted was Celandine showing her non photogenic self to everyone. Maybe if she stopped snacking after 10 pm...Worrying about what she could do to keep herself from looking too bloated, the Hopton heir missed Celandine's photoshoot wishes entirely. However, she was lucky (or unlucky?) enough to hear Celandine declare which faces would be occupying her locket.

Oh, bad idea, Daffy. Bad Daffy. Bad!

"Your compliment is enough, don't worry," she remarked smiling/grimacing at the book shelves from her seated position where she had begun to slouch the more she thought of Plymouth and Copernicus' faces inside Celandine's locket. Talk about caught between two loves--in Celandine's case anyways. "He got you--"

ACK. Unacceptable! Daphne raised a hand which had started making it's way towards the table at alarming speed, but she stopped her temper tantrum short. Celandine was a free human being, she could choose to receive gifts from whomever she wanted.

Even if it was from that friend napper, Copernicus Kettleburn. Once more, slouching, she held her chin on her hand, a small sigh escaping her lips. "That's very pretty Celly. Copernicus has an eye for jewelry."

Delinquent.

"I really like it." Cela agreed, examining the pink bracelet and angling it so that Daphne could see the little silver shield with the engraved C on it. "He gave me chilli fudge too." Cela licked her lips happily before leaning forward and shooting a conspirational look at Daphne.

"I got soooooooooooooooooooo much candy, I stashed it all around so that Kayla can't try to take it from me. So I'll always have some... fuel, for planning our adventure. How are you doing with that sticking charm? Practicing I hope!"

No. No. No.

She didn't want to appreciate Celandine's bracelet, given to her by the man who was shaming her and making her out to be someone she wasn't to the public eye. "Mmmhmm," hummed the blond friend in response to her blond friend, honey eyes surveying everything behind Celandine. Anything coming from Copernicus Kettleburn could only further damage her Toussaint friend.

"You stashed it all around?" repeated Daphne, chin still on her hand, however she tilted her head slightly so her eyes would meed Celandine's. "Did you put them in strategical places? Like behind the statue of Lachlan the Lanky? It's on the seventh floor, not sure Kayla would bother going all the way up there." It was also close to their common rooms which made for easy retrieval.

Brandon sat reading a book quietly without really taking a word of it in. He realised this after staring at the same word for 5 whole minutes. He stuffed the book back in his bag and glanced at his watch.

*Gabben walked over to an empty table and started to unload his books. He sat down and started working on his home work.*

Kayla walked into the library and looked around for a table to sit down and do her homework. She spotted Gabben, sitting on his own and she made her way over to him. "Haven't seen you around in a while. May I join you?"

*Gabben looked up and smirked.* "Sure, and sorry about that I've been busy with my... studying." *He turned a little red and looked back down to his book and started making notes again.*
"So what have you been up to?"

Placing her book on the table, Kayla sat down in the chair opposite Gabben and raised an eyebrow at him. "So why did you just blush while making that comment?" She leaned back in her chair and looked at Gabben before answering. "Not much really, classes and homework have been keeping me fairly busy."

"Me? Blush? Guys don't blush." *He tried to shrug the question off.* "And yeah I know what you mean. Who knew fifth year would be so packed. Must be harder for you prefects though right?"

Kayla could not help but notice that he evaded her question and she simply shrugged if he didn't want to tell she couldn't force him to. "I know what you mean but I guess it might have something to do with our O.W.L's" she laughed at his next comment. "Do you think we get harder work because we're Prefects? I certainly hope not!"

She took out some parchment and a quill and placed them on the table. "So how was your Christmas? Oh which reminds me I have your present back in my dorm."

"I think they dumb down the work for you prefects." *He winked at her then laughed.*
"But by harder for you I mean that you have loads of homework and crying first years."

"I don't know about crying first years more like 'let's make like difficult for the Prefects' first years" she said wryly. "Honestly I knew I was a little bit of handful when I was that age but even I didn't cause that much trouble." Memories of shattering all the windows in the charms class filled her mind and she smiled in spite of herself, okay she was prone to causing a little trouble.

"so what homework are you doing?"

"I was the the first year from heck. Ha Kyle and I used to play 'how red with anger can we make the prefects face'. One almost went mad."
*He pulled a book over and frowned at it.*
"History at the moment. You?"

"Yes I can just see you doing that" Kayla replied with a grin. "You must be losing your touch though, cause you haven't made me mad...yet" she poked her tongue out at him and look down at the book she had placed on the table. "Herbology. Know anything about potting puffapods?"

"Well I haven't really tried to make you mad. And the fact that I like you plays into your favor of me not making you go crazy."
*He looked up and smiled.*
"And for the puffapods I would wear gloves make sure to not drop it into the pot. Lightly set in and slowly put dirt around it."

"Oooh lucky me" she drawled giving him a wink. "Well I like you too, so I guess I would find it hard to get mad at you."

Kayla listened to Gabben and was rather impressed. "I see at least one of us was paying attention in class" she wrote down the points he had made and then looked back at him. "So do you feel like staying here or do you want to go for a walk or something?" For some reason she didn't feel like being cooped up in the library even though she had only just got here.

"My charm seems to keep people from being mad at me too." *He frowned a little and looked back to his books.* "Wouldn't your boyfriend be upset if he heard."
*He pulled his book closer not looking up.*
