Tall bookshelves are scattered throughout the library, the smooth wood gleaming brightly in the sun that shines in through the stained glass windows. Tens of thousands of books rest upon the shelves, all waiting to be explored by eager minds. They stretch along the walls, filling each shelf and dark corner. A catalogue system has been put in place to ensure that finding and retrieving a book becomes a simple task, for the sheer amount of books can be overwhelming, particularly to the youngest of students.

At the end of the first few bookshelves in the front of the library sits a pedestal. An open book with a soft golden light emitting from it, has been placed upon the pedestal. As you approach the book, you hear a rustling and then a gentle pop. “Come closer, come closer. Don’t be afraid.” A jolly voice speaks.

When you finally do peek into the pages of a book, an elderly gentleman peers out at you, one hand rising to adjust his spectacles. “Now. What book is it that you seek? I can give you a general location or a more specific one if you know the exact title of the book.”

Once you speak your request, the man ponders for a few moments before scribbling on a piece of parchment. Squinting at what he has written, he looks back up and smiles, before speaking the location of the book. “Happy reading!” He exclaims before settling back down into a still flat image.

OOC: Please note that the jolly man is for entertainment purposes only. I will not be RPing him each time a student approaches asking for a book.

"Hi" Skylar replied to the girl still looking at the shelves. Don't be rude the little voice in her head told her. She tuned to the girl. "Hi, i'm Skylar. sadly i've seen nothing interesting so far." The girl looked about her age. She could always use friends she thought. plus she's in Slytherin so you know she's a good friend the little voice told her. 'Oh hush' she thought.

"Well, guess we will both have to look really hard for something interesting. The last time I was here it took me forever to find an interesting book," Mackenzie said. Stop babbling!! You're gonna scare this girl away!!! She was always scolding herself when it came to talking to people. She was constantly babbling.

Skylar noticed that the girl babbled but it didn't bother her, it offset her own wierd quirks. What quirks? the little voice asked. 'Oh hush up' she thought. "Ya i guess we'll have to look even harder than." Skylar commented "so where are you from then?" skylar asked trying to make small talk. and trying to get to know the girl. what was her name again? Mackenzie the little voice said.

Lima sighed. So Liz had no idea either. For a second she wondered if Maddox would know, but that thought passed in an instant. She didn't care if he knew or not, and she would never ask him. 'Oh, I never saw him there, but I do remember a bunch of girls fighting over him in the ice cream shoppe." She started to laugh. It was really funny even after a few months. Only Nico would have masses of girls after him. Poor Kayla had to deal with a lot of competition. Snort. She then smiled as Liz seemed to want to play along with her. "I dunno, you may have to go and find me. What with all the traveling I'll be doing. I'll be on tour constantly. And of course there will be all the other writers fighting to be the one to write about me." She gave another wink and snorted.

She blushed a bit and said, "It's nothing big, really. I just can play things by ear." She shrugged. "Well, I'm glad that you are sure that you can cope fairly well with it. Though I can't imagine being a Prefect." She shuddered. She just didn't find being a Prefect appealing. Though she never would have said that to Vannah when she was one, of course.

History of Magic sucked.

Big time. Running his right index finger along the bookshelves (and almost knocking over a few first years in his wake) Sebastian, searched. Ugh. He hated this particular subject, especially when he was tired. Tired and stupidly tall was not a good combination. Actually, add clumsy to that too. Dangerous. Eventually finding something he liked the look of, he look it to a little table, and grimaced.

It was huge.

Almost as big as his feet, sideways...

Elizabeth laughed as Lima talked about fighting over Nicholai in the ice cream shoppe. She thought she had heard something about that. "Yeah, I'd imagine at least some of the combatants in the ice cream shoppe were probably involved in the fight in the bookstore. Which was when I saw him," she said with a grin. Although, she was fairly certain Asteira wasn't getting in his face about him smiling at her, and thinking he had some sort of designs other than friendship on her cousin. But then she laughed again as the teasing about hypothetical biography writing continued. "Well, I guess if we both continue traveling, odds are we'd end up in the same place sometime," she said, before grinning mischievously. "But it would be so much easier to agree to someone you know writing about you, than some stranger," she argued facetiously. It's not like anything was going to happen anyway.

"I can usually pick up the lyrics to songs, and sing along if I want to," she then said with a shrug. "'Swhat happens when you grow up with an appreciation for stage musicals. But that's pretty much the extent of my musical ability. So you have me beat by a lot." She smiled again as they talked about pressure, and being a prefect. "I can cope. But I mean, I did give up being a prefect, so apparently I wasn't so attached to that." She caught the older girl's shudder, and grinned. It seemed a lot of people didn't like thinking about prefect-dom.

"Yeah. Not much you can do in a big city," Mackenzie said. There was, but it was things she didn't like. Like shopping, or basically shopping.

Skylar noticed that it was starting to get really akward. she asked a question that she hoped wouldn't be too inappropriate. "So who are your parents?"

"My mom used to work at the Ministry, but that was before my dad died. He was a muggle. My mom raised me and my older brother Matthew with my grandparents." Mackenzie was starting to get used to talking about her life. "What about your parents?"

"oh," Skylar hadn't been expecting her to ask the question back. She had to think quick. She obviously wasn't going to tell her she didn't know who her parents were. So she did the only thing she could think of....she lied, partially. "Oh, well both of my parents work for a magic based company out of London." It wasn't completely a lie. they did both work together. and what they did was magic based. and i suppose you could call it a company. but that would be stretching it.

"I just have my older brother Matthew. He works at the Ministry right now. He would rather be a teacher here though I think." Mackenzie knew her brother's dream was to work at Hogwarts. She sighed as she kept scanning the titles of the books.

The guy had only been there for two Terms! "HAHA! True enough. How about we both meet up in London when I go there on tour?" She snorted. She was so going to go back to her old city. Maybe visit her old house while she was there.

She nodded, understanding exactly what Liz was telling her. "So have you ever been in any musicals or anything yourself before?" she asked curiously. She had a few times. She had the lead in a few and she was minor characters in a few others. All in all it was a lot of fun. "Yeah, I don't know too many Prefects that are overly attached to their job," she said laughing. Well, Vannah might have been but generally no.

I came in after it had started sort of, but I think Asteira threw a book at him. Because of what happened between him and Mari last term. And she knocked a whole bunch of books onto him and Anna. And then arguing started, I came in cause I had been surprised to see Asteira in Diagon Alley, Kayla showed up, Mari showed up . . ." She grinned. "And Lyra and Agie were there eating popcorn. And then partway through, Asteira noticed Nicholai smiling at me, cause I think we both were finding the whole thing kind of hilarious. Especially since I was trying to stay out of it, although also trying to keep Mari from getting involved. Which didn't work, by the way. But Asteira then thought he had some sort of designs on me, so then she attacked him again, telling him to stay away from me. And Nicholai got slapped, Asteira got slapped, I think Kayla got slapped, and it all just kinda got to a point where it had to end." Lima listened, trying to grasp what Liz was telling her. But it was a bit hard when she didn't even know who all the people she was talking about were. "Wait, I'm confused. Who is Mari? And what happened between her and Nico?" She bit her lip. Whatever it was, it must not have ended well if he had a book thrown at him. She nodded and said, "I think that we could do like a few books on me. I mean I'm sure going to be worth it," she said with mock arrogance. Wow, she never sounded this bad normally.

Elizabeth flushed as Lima asked her who Mari was, and said she was confused. She had forgotten that it was possible not everyone knew her friend. "Oh, sorry," she apologized, before trying to explain. "Mari's one of my best friends. Um, Mariska Morozova. She's a Ravenclaw like me, and apparently she kinda fell for him last term, and stuff happened. And when she found out he had gone back to Kayla, she was really hurt, which was kinda why Asteira went after him in the first place." She was relieved when the conversation had gone back to the teasing about books. It was hard to think about what had happened on the train ride home after last term. "Of course," she joked back. "I mean, if you're going to be super famous, people are going to want to know everything about you. And however could that get covered in just one book." Unless it was a really long book.

She looked at the Huffie in curiosity when she said she'd been in some musicals. "So what have you been in?," she asked, before smiling. "I know. They look like a lot of fun," she said, before trying to answer Lima's question. "My favorite? I don't really know. Probably Cats," she said, thinking about Bella and Macavity. "But I also really liked Rent." Even though having seen that was why there had been the initial weirdness between her and Professor Truebridge. But that all seemed to have gotten straightened out. Her train of thought was interrupted by Lima talking again, ending her comment with a snort. "Denton? He seems to, at least," she giggled, remembering the other Huffie prefect, and how she only knew him from Quidditch. She'd never actually officially met him, but she'd heard things.

She could sympathize, even though the pain she was feeling was starting to fade more and more with time. "See, exactly. Look for Lima and the Lima Beans," she stated matter-of-factly. "You should write that down now, you know for when you will be writing about us."

"I've been in Flashdance, Cats, Rent, Sweeney Todd." she shrugged. It was no big deal, just something that her mum liked her enrolling in during breaks and stuff. It was always a lot of fun and she got to meet new people. "Cats and Rent are great," she said nodding. "A lot of fun to be in." She then giggled. "Denton is like on a power trip when it comes to himself. Like seriously. But I have to love him. Ive adopted him as my annoying little brother." She snorted.

"Nope. Just something that isn't completely dull and dry." Mackenzie really was having a hard time finding books at this school. She was going to have to have her brother or her mother send her some new ones to read by the looks of it.

"ah...i see" Skylar commented. She usually got all her books from her brother. then she remembered getting one that she really wasn't interested in. "What kind of books? my brother just sent me some, i'm not all for them but maybe you'd like at least one of them.
