Tall bookshelves are scattered throughout the library, the smooth wood gleaming brightly in the sun that shines in through the stained glass windows. Tens of thousands of books rest upon the shelves, all waiting to be explored by eager minds. They stretch along the walls, filling each shelf and dark corner. A catalogue system has been put in place to ensure that finding and retrieving a book becomes a simple task, for the sheer amount of books can be overwhelming, particularly to the youngest of students.
At the end of the first few bookshelves in the front of the library sits a pedestal. An open book with a soft golden light emitting from it, has been placed upon the pedestal. As you approach the book, you hear a rustling and then a gentle pop. “Come closer, come closer. Don’t be afraid.” A jolly voice speaks.
When you finally do peek into the pages of a book, an elderly gentleman peers out at you, one hand rising to adjust his spectacles. “Now. What book is it that you seek? I can give you a general location or a more specific one if you know the exact title of the book.”
Once you speak your request, the man ponders for a few moments before scribbling on a piece of parchment. Squinting at what he has written, he looks back up and smiles, before speaking the location of the book. “Happy reading!” He exclaims before settling back down into a still flat image. OOC: Please note that the jolly man is for entertainment purposes only. I will not be RPing him each time a student approaches asking for a book.  | |

Jaden walked over to a bookshelf, not really knowing what he was looking for. He was just...browsing. He'd come into the library (not something that he'd normally do) to try and find something to read. He'd had an odd notion the night before to pick up a book and read it. It was odd, considering books weren't really his thing.
He ran his fingers along the leather-bound books, his eyes skimming the titles. He took a quick look around the library and spotted Kevin, the first boy he'd met. In Ollivanders, if he remembered rightly. "Hey Kevin," he called across the room. He then clamped his hand over his mouth, and then gazed anxiously at the librarian. He ducked behind another book shelf and then peered round the corner, winking at the first year.

At her words however he turned fully to look at her, "What in the bloody hell are you talking about? The way she was looking at me...." Was it him or did she almost sound jealous of Lyra...? But why...? "She's a friend that's it. Not that I need to explain that to you. What I do is my business and it's not like you care too much." He clenched his jaw and turned away walking to the end of the aisle. There wasn't anywhere he could go after without walking towards her again and he was definitely NOT going to do that. "So get some books. I'm not stopping you." As she continued he frowned, "Right, if you want to do that you'd just go ride around on his back through the corridors." She shook her hair back as he spoke about her and Cayden again and she was going to retort with something nice and witty when he spoke again, but his words disarmed her for a moment. " What's that supposed to mean? " She said quietly. She looked at him and she waited for him answer her. " Me of all people?" She asked again, watching him as he looked at the books.
