Tall bookshelves are scattered throughout the library, the smooth wood gleaming brightly in the sun that shines in through the stained glass windows. Tens of thousands of books rest upon the shelves, all waiting to be explored by eager minds. They stretch along the walls, filling each shelf and dark corner. A catalogue system has been put in place to ensure that finding and retrieving a book becomes a simple task, for the sheer amount of books can be overwhelming, particularly to the youngest of students.

At the end of the first few bookshelves in the front of the library sits a pedestal. An open book with a soft golden light emitting from it, has been placed upon the pedestal. As you approach the book, you hear a rustling and then a gentle pop. “Come closer, come closer. Don’t be afraid.” A jolly voice speaks.

When you finally do peek into the pages of a book, an elderly gentleman peers out at you, one hand rising to adjust his spectacles. “Now. What book is it that you seek? I can give you a general location or a more specific one if you know the exact title of the book.”

Once you speak your request, the man ponders for a few moments before scribbling on a piece of parchment. Squinting at what he has written, he looks back up and smiles, before speaking the location of the book. “Happy reading!” He exclaims before settling back down into a still flat image.

OOC: Please note that the jolly man is for entertainment purposes only. I will not be RPing him each time a student approaches asking for a book.

Rose had been itching to read up on Peeves, her hair out of place and her cheeks red with running she perused the shelves for Hogwarts, A History. Either she was looking in the wrong place or they were all out. Looking up again at the index, she shrugged. It said Historicals. Surely Hogwarts, A History was a Historical. Or maybe it was under something like...School History. Frowning at the stupidity, she moved down the shelf picking up another few books, or rather enough books that they were towering over her head in a precarious pile, she sat down at a table next to the shelves and started flicking through.

This was definately one of Rian's favorite places at Hogwarts. She smiled as she searched for the book she wanted, muttering over and over about Merlin's pinky toes, and the book Madame Kohan suggested might just have the information she wanted; Did Merlin really have only one pinky toe?

And of course, the book might have information that would help her with her homework. She snorted when she came across a book titled Charm You Own Cheese. The author of that book was the subject of her homework...maybe she'd check that out too.

She bit her lip, and picked up the book quickly. Why not? At least it would give her something to read...

Rian's eyes widened as she read the 'About the Author' section of the book. Greta and Rian had quite a few simalaties...for one, Greta was also in Ravenclaw. Two, she also lived in Carlisle, England. How weird was that? And of course, they both liked to cook. Rian cocked her head to the side as she thought about this.

Well, this should be an interesting assignment, she said, hurrying to the front desk so she could check out the book.

Jake smiled "alright, but what exactly am I looking for?" he ask her looking at the books in front of him. divination he thought "ummm most likely, but im not sure where, why the sudden interest" he said. He walked a bit around the library till he found some book about divination "over here i found some books, but im not sure if it what you want" he shrugged his shoulders running a hand through his hair "im not sure of what you want" he said

Amy took a deep breath before releasing a sigh because she knew if Jake was going to be there to help her she had to give him more information. She walked over to where he stood in front of the row of shelves. “I knew you are going to think I am crazy now...but..I am looking for a book that decipher dreams.” She held her breath as she waited to her what Jake would say.

Amy took the book from Jake immediately opening it to the index. She scanned the information contained inside the book while also speaking with Jake. “Yes. It’s kind of weird so we will skip what its about for now.” She glanced up at him with a smile to let him know she would truly tell him later. “ Right now I also want to try to find a book maybe written about the way and reasons a person dreams...do you know what I mean? Well let me try to explain really quick. Have you never heard that like if you fall out of bed you have a dream of falling or something....its kind of a bad sample. I will wake up from my dream and when I am asleep again the dream picks up where it left off...has that ever happened to you?”

Jake chuckled as Amy grabbed the book and returned her smile "umm yeah I think I understand" he said putting his hands in his pockets "do you mean like your dreaming that your drowning and you wake up out of breath like if you were really drowning?" he ask her "I cant say it pick up where it left of, but having athe same dream or the same parts, then yes, if not the no or...something" he sighed and gave her a small smile "does that book help or keep looking?"

Toshi entered the library and looked around.
This was one of his favourite places in the whole school. ZHe strode over to a bookshelf and looked at the books, waiting for Rachel.

"Well see the problem is its rare that people do," Amy said looking at Jake. "Yes. This one is good," she added closing the book. "I just want to look and see about the other," she said lazily while running her finger down the spine of a book as she read the title.

"Here we go," she said picking up the second book she had been admiring. She opened the book as she did the other going straight to the index. "OKay," she said after a few minutes. "I am done. Did you want to stay here for a while and set down or go somewhere else?"

Amanda walked into the library, and turned to Amelia. "Now where do we go from here? 'Cause I'm not sure, at all..." she said.

Amelia tried not to laugh at the helpless expression on her best friend's face. "Well, you could talk to that book, or i could just take you." Amelia smiled at Amanda. I'm so lucky to have a friend like her. She understand me so well. Amelia then wandered off to the shelves as Amanda sat down to work on the homework.

Scanning the shelves she started to think. She was starting to love Hogwarts. She still got those weird looks she got everywhere else, but she was good at ignoring people who had nothing nice to say. The other day she'd got pushed down by someone, who'd given her a look and said "weirdie". But I'm used to that. I like being weird. it makes me...well, me! Just like Jaquline had said once, quoting some muggle author..."Be who you are, and say what you want, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter dont mind." Those who matter...like Jaquline and Amanda. Her best friend...Amelia really was lucky.

"Aha!" Amelia had found her book, one about wizarding history. She stood up and walked back over to Amanda. "I'm ready to go. We can go check out then head back to the common room."

Jake thought for a second and then smilled. "how would you like to go the Pathways?" he asked "I havent taken you there yet, and I would love to show you my tree" he said talking about a tree that he like to relax at.
"you'll like it, its big and brown with leaves and everything" he said laughing.

Kevin was exploring the school and found that he had walked into the library he was curious to read up on the history of Hogwarts so he took a copy of Hogwarts a history off the shelf and sat down to read it
