| | Library Bookshelves
Tall bookshelves are scattered throughout the library, the smooth wood gleaming brightly in the sun that shines in through the stained glass windows. Tens of thousands of books rest upon the shelves, all waiting to be explored by eager minds. They stretch along the walls, filling each shelf and dark corner. A catalogue system has been put in place to ensure that finding and retrieving a book becomes a simple task, for the sheer amount of books can be overwhelming, particularly to the youngest of students.
At the end of the first few bookshelves in the front of the library sits a pedestal. An open book with a soft golden light emitting from it, has been placed upon the pedestal. As you approach the book, you hear a rustling and then a gentle pop. “Come closer, come closer. Don’t be afraid.” A jolly voice speaks.
When you finally do peek into the pages of a book, an elderly gentleman peers out at you, one hand rising to adjust his spectacles. “Now. What book is it that you seek? I can give you a general location or a more specific one if you know the exact title of the book.”
Once you speak your request, the man ponders for a few moments before scribbling on a piece of parchment. Squinting at what he has written, he looks back up and smiles, before speaking the location of the book. “Happy reading!” He exclaims before settling back down into a still flat image. OOC: Please note that the jolly man is for entertainment purposes only. I will not be RPing him each time a student approaches asking for a book. |

*He sighed and let his shoulders fall.*
"I can't. Grandfather said I have to be good till the end of term. I'm guessing he heard about my toilet running prank. If I pull another prank before this term ends I wont get-"
*He stopped, turned red and looked away.*
"Never mind, just no pranks alright?"

Kayla raised an eyebrow at Gabben, "Okay I just told you my deep, dark secret. Now it's your turn. What were you about to say and why did you just blush?" she folded her arms across her chest and looked back at Gabben as if to say 'we're not going anywhere until you tell me.'

"Can't I tell you another secret? Any other secret?" *He knew that if he told her that secret he would look very girly and stupid. Boys were not to like dancing and parties. Right as he said any other secret he wished he hadn't said that. She might ask to know more then he wanted to tell.*

She gave him a small smirk and shook her head, "Nope you're gonna have to tell me that one." Kayla moved forward a step and gave Gabben a mischevious grin. "If you don't tell me, I will tickle it out of you" she wiggled her fingers in front of him.

Oh now he was challenging her!! Big mistake buddy. Kayla stepped wight up to Gabben with her fingers still wiggling, so that he was distracted and snaked her foot around behind his feet and kicked upwards. "You got good balance Gabben?" she chuckled as she watched to see if he would fall on his butt or stay on his two feet.

*Gabben laughed and stepped back. He hit her leg and was about to fall over but got his balance and did a fast turn so that he was now behind her.*
"Better then you."

Kayla turned quickly and grabbed his wrist. "Better than you think" she smirked and then let go. "Not exactly the place to be trying to beat the crap out of each other." She gave him a wink, "This sword fight of ours is going to be rather interesting."

*Gabben laughed and pulled back.* "It should be, I will feel bad for beating a girl so badly..."
*He smirked and spun around starting to walk away.*

"Pfft...in your dreams Gardner. I've been practicing whenever I can but I bet you're very rusty" Kayla called at his retreating back. Ah maybe one day they will learn that she is not one to mess with her especially with a weapon in her hand.

"Dreams or not I am very sure I could win." *He winked and then laughed. Gabben knew that it was a very big chance that Kayla would beat him. But he was looking forward to the fight. He stopped and looked down at his feet.*
"Ummm hows your friend, Caitlin?"

Lucy walked down the shelves reading her Transfiguration book. She wanted to be ready for the final. But being the klutz she was she soon ran into one of the bookshelves with a 'thud'.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Margaret Jacqueline Atkinson Morris Fifth Year | Potter’s Princess A+ FangGirl Now that the finals were over and she had time to relax, Melina waddled to the library, anxious to spend some time in a place where she knew no-one would bother her with her books. Well, not her books, per say, for she had left those back in her dormitory. After all, since the term was about to end, wasn't it anything but logical for her to read books she would not have at home or see for months?
Humming in a low tone a tune she had heard in an ancient Muggle film, she made her way to the bookshelves, her fingers running across the books as she reached them. A few moments later, her fingers stopped as she recognized the author's name. Beedle, the Bard. Hmm... Maybe she should pick that one up. Copernicus had mentioned it the other day, had he not? And she was dying to know more about those tales he had mentioned. What if the ones she had read weren't as good as the fairy tales she loved? He liked them, so she should give them a proper try, right?
Smiling to herself, Melly picked the book and, opening it on the first page, began to read, completely oblivious to the fact that she was still standing.

| Tessaaa Wowza! With finals and those dreadful OWLs over, Willow had decided that since the feast would be very soon, taking a stroll around the castle she would not be able to see during the summer, was the suitable thing to do. Or at least that's what the girl had been thinking before she found herself inside the library.
The reason why she was there was a mystery for the fifth year, for Willow did not like libraries; they were all quiet, and large and claustophic and . . . she didn't like them. End of story.
Some Ravenclaw she was.
About was the young Ravenclaw to turn around and head back to the kitchens -and no, she wasn't hungry- when with the corner of one of her forest green eyes, she noticed a flash of red hair. Cocking her head to one side, she soon realized that it was Melina. And surprise, surprise, she was reading.
Maybe reading was some kind of Ravenclaw trait that Willow was lacking.
"Beedle the Bard is a good book," said Willow, as she made her way towards the shorter girl that weirdly enough, she considered her friend. "But I think you'll enjoy it more if you sit down."

Hogwarts RPG Name: Margaret Jacqueline Atkinson Morris Fifth Year | Potter’s Princess A+ FangGirl Hmm... The book sure was big. Big enough for Melly to know that she wouldn't be able to read all of it that day even if she tried her hardest. Sigh. It looked like she'd have to skip the tales she had read before then. Ah, well, perhaps that was for the best. She certainly didn't want to come across The Warlock's Hairy Heart ever again. Hideous story, that's what that one was. How some people could like something so gruesome she didn't know and quite frankly, she didn't want to know it either for that would mean she understood their way of thinking.
After skipping some two tales and reading another, she heard a voice in the distance that brought her back to life. Oh yes, because she might not particularly enjoy Beedle, but she had to admit that the stories managed to captivate her. Sometimes. Well, they would if she forgot about how she had read other tales that were better and stuff. And she was babbling mentally again, wasn't she? Sigh. She had to learn how to stop doing that.
"Oh, hey Willow," She smiled at she finally saw the person who had spoken to her. As the girl spoke about the book, Melina tilted her head. "I thought you didn't like reading," She blinked in confusion. "Oh," She flushed slightly as Willow mentioned how she was standing. "I suppose you might be right. I, erm, I forgot about - err - you know," She shot her friend a smile that looked as if she wanted to apologize.
Truth was, she had forgotten about the whoooole world, like usual. Another thing she'd have to fix in her. Or well, at least the part about not sitting down to read. Huh, actually, that explained why she always made herself sit down before opening a book. How come she had never noticed that?

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sophia Svensson #556B2F Slytherin Fifth Year Hogwarts RPG Name: Eulalia Walles (#F48037) Hufflepuff Fourth Year | Twinnie and Moo Constant Vigilance! O_O AWAKE! Juniper had nothing to do, and she wanted to read a book. That was what she did when she was bored. She read, usually outside. The only problem was her lack of unpacked books. Luckily for Juniper, that was a problem easily remedied with a trip to the library. The fourth year strode purposefully to the bookshelves before slowing her pace so she could read the titles. That one looked gruesome, and that one seemed uninformative. Juniper passed several shelves after only a quick glance, until she reached a group of books that seemed promising. Pausing, Juniper began to read the titles and hypothesize what the books would be about.
Hmmm. A book about domestic animals. That seemed promising, and Juniper pulled the rather thick volume from the shelf and opened it to its table of contents. Ahhh, a chapter on owls, and ferrets, and toads... wait. Why was there a chapter on nifflers? The fourth year flipped to that chapter, to see how nifflers could be regarded as domestic animals.
That was when she heard it. Voices.
Freezing in mid-page turn, Juniper looked up from the book and glanced around her like a startled deer. There were... voices. In the library. That was funny. She had been under the impression that libraries were supposed to be quiet. And whoever was talking clearly had not gotten that message, so Juniper quietly shut the book, tucked it under her arm, and tiptoed to the end of the bookshelf. She could not be sure, but it sounded as if the talkers were in the next row of books.
Peering around the bookshelf, Juniper held her book as a shield in front of her chest, and opened her mouth to tell whomever it was off.
"Oh!"
Well, she couldn't very well scold her best friend and the Quidditch captain, now could she? |

| Tess & Josey Wowza! Melina, was sure, was very concentrated on her reading - one look at the girl's expression would tell anyone that. Why was the girl standing, though? It was just plain weird, not to mention completely uncomfortable. But Melly seemed to be too busy ready to notice that.
As she waited for Melina to reply, Willow's eyes started to look around, gazing at the tall shelves that were the home of many, many books. The fact that some people enjoyed spending time inside libraries still boggled her mind - were they not scared of the bookshelves? What if they fell down, or something? Dangerous. Libraries were dangerous places, and the fifth year was right on not visiting them often. "I don't," answered Willow, her usual quiet tone more quiet than usual; they were in a library, after all, whether she liked it or not. "But the Tales of Beedle the Bard is a children's book, and my mum used to read it to me when I was younger." Younger being when Willow was around four or five years old. "Besides, Beedle the Bard was the topic of our last History of Magic Lesson of the term, don't you remember?"
Upon hearing a voice coming from behind, the sixteen-year-old girl looked over her shoulder, only to see Juniper Goodwin staring at them, holding a book that Willow did not need to see its cover to know it was about animals or plants or any of those things - it was Goodwin, after all. "Juniper," she aknowledge with a nod.
Juniper Goodwin was far from being one of Willow's favourite people at Hogwarts, but since she was in a good mood, the fifth year decided that giving the younger girl her back could be considered rude. Letting out a little sigh, the fifth year turned around and went to stand by the wall, her back leaning against it casually.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Margaret Jacqueline Atkinson Morris Fifth Year | Potter’s Princess A+ FangGirl Now that Willow was there, Melly was almost one hundred per cent sure that the next time she spoke to Copernicus she'd still have little to say about Beedle. Sigh. Oh well, there was always a good side to that, which was that she could always ask him to tell her the stories himself. Hmm... He looked like the kind of person who was good at storytelling. Hmmhmm, she definitely wanted to hear him.
Without a second thought, she closed the book on her hands to look properly at Willow, though one couldn't really say that she was looking that properly when the girl's eyes were sparkly, a good proof of how her mind had drifted away.
"I see," She smiled, though she was half sad to hear her friend's answer. After all, she had hoped Willow had forgotten her aversion to books. It seemed like that hope had been in vain. Oh, but she knew that once she convinced the girl to read Thumbelina, Willow too would learn to love books. Yes, she would. But before she started her task, she would have to listen to what Willow was saying. When she did, her lips formed a surprised 'O'. "Was it?," She blushed embarrassedly. "I overslept that day," She murmured, suddenly finding her feet rather interesting to study. "I didn't make it to class." And how she wished she had. Ugh. She had missed a lesson on taaaales! So what if they weren't her favorite ones? They were still stories! Pout. She'd have to stop reading until three a.m. and end up not going to class.
At the sound of her best friend's name, Melina's previous thoughts vanished as she looked up at Willow, completely dumbfounded. Had Willow said something? "I'm sorry, I didn't -" But what was she looking at? Blinking, she turned her head around and followed her friend's gaze.
"JUNI!," She beamed, trying her hardest to keep her tone hushed. However, she didn't manage to keep it as a whisper. Instead, she let out a muffled squeak. She didn't quite realize it, though, for soon enough she had her hand outstretched, as if waiting for her friend to come closer and hold it.
Wasn't that just great? She was in one of her favorite places with two friends of hers! Now, if only Issy was there too...
