Anna quickly flipped through her textbook, looking at all the runes and deciding on one she'd like to share with the class. When she'd decided, Anna took out her parchment once again and drew the rune and copied down it's name. She then raised her hand and said, "Professor, this is Raidho. It stands for travel in terms of moving from one place to another and in terms of changing your lifestyle and going in another direction. This could be, for example, a journey or trip that you take...you know, simply seeing the world for relaxation or for a specific purpose. It could also be changing your lifestyle and seeing the world in a different perspective," she explained. "That part sort of confuses me, but I guess it could mean trying new things and looking at life as you haven't been...you know, seeing what you've been missing out on."

Alessia nodded and listened.

Tobi raised his hand and hand drawn Gebo rune in the air, it looked slightly crooked but whatever,



"Ma'am Gebo means Gift, the modern English is seemingly drawn from this word, but I don't really see it, anyway, it can mean gifts, opportunity, partnership, love match, obligations, even Karmic union." he said.

Cedric raised his hand..

"Professor,Ingwaz means Energy, gestation, integration,
male fertility, protection, and castration but it is also know as the earth god,Ingwaz name was derived from the norse god Ing..."he paused then he continued.."Ingwaz was the 22nd rune and when it use in divination,it means
work, productivity, generosity, growth, and balance,and everything that has a link with earth..."Cedric answered

Herminny raised her hand and said, "Theres the tiwaz rune and it means top and the picture on the rune is of an arrow pointing up toward the top".

Cela raised her hand, "Wunjo, professor? That one is used to represent W or V and means joy, comfort and pleasure. Sometimes it means excessive joy so.... like euphoria maybe? So its... the too much candy rune. Though it also means recognition and general success. And it looks kind of like a p."

Celandine drew it on a scrap piece and held it up.

Abby raises her hand. She knows she's done more than the professor asked for, but she wants the information for her notes.

Dagaz’s English letter equivalent is D as in dog, DJ as in Django Reinhardt, DTH as in breadth. It translates as day. Dagaz means day, daylight, dawn, breakthrough, radical change.

Copernicus raised his hand. "What about Perth, Professor? I suppose it looks sort of like an old fashioned dice cup tipped on its side, but it means mystery or chance. Like... the gambles you make in life."

He held up a scrap of paper with the drawing on it.

"Abby don't forget that Dagaz also means release... Perfect! 5 points to all of you. And with Ansuz and Ehwaz you have a full set!" She said and then added "Ansuz symbolizes creativity, in every form possible like drawing, music, acting. It is Odin's rune and therefore THE most important of them all. Odin is the main god in norse mythology and he brought the runes and their magic to humans from the base of the World Tree. Odin tries to guide regular men through their lives. Ehwaz symbolizes travel. Looks like an M doesn't it? Some say it's really just two horses... see ONE horse means a warrior, TWO horses means travel... others say it's Sleipnir, Odin's eight-legged horse... either way, it's pretty much travel and energy..."

She clapped her hands and said "Ok... HOMEWORK. finish making your runes. and then give someone a reading. Pull three runes. The first will be the past, the second will be the present and the third will be the future. Give me your findings. Thank you for a fun class, and Cellery? if you wanna make those candy runes, just don't eat them, K?"

She skipped to the door and opened it. "BYE BYE NOW."

ooc: For the rune gallery, take a picture of the runes you created. Write on a piece of paper next to them "Hi Professor Lupa!" and I'll know their yours. Or put yourself in the picture.

Celandine copied the rest of the runes down and added to her notes before packing all her things up. "Ohh I'll make them Professor!" Celandine smiled, not quite sure how she'd resist eating them but she'd try!

YAY!

"Thank you, Professor Lupa!" Celandine rummaged in her pocket and offered a selection of candy to the runes professor on her way out.

So Dominic hadn't guessed Anna's rune right and he got told off for helping, but whatever. It wasn't like he was a Runes master or anything, nor did he really intend to pursue runes for a career after he graduated Hogwarts in two years. Heck - if his OWL runes don't go well, then he might not even be pursuing the subject after this year.

Listening to the way to hyperactive (and emotional) Professor Lupa, the fifth year eyed her warily and then . . . as if it was like a message from heaven, the lesson was OVER! Scribbling down the homework, he thought vaguely about whose reading he'd do but not too long. Packing his things all up, he placed his bag over his shoulder and nodded towards the professor. "Bye Professor. Thank you for an interesting class," he nodded off to her, as he disappeared from the classroom. Interesting was not technically lying...

Cedric copied the notes and homework..."THanks..professor..Bye..."then Cedric left the ancient runes class
