Alessia bounced into her classroom, excited to teach her last class. She laid on the floor and took her wand, waving it about. She cast a few spells causing ivy to crawl up the walls and desks around her. She then gave a flourish with her wand, and little pink buds sprouted from some of the vines. "Ooo Pretty!" She said to herself. Now she just needed to wait for the students.

Anna raised her hand and asked, "Did Clifford choose Thurisaz?" she asked. She wasn't quite sure what exactly prompted her to believe he would have, but judging by the meaning of the rune alone, it seemed like a pretty good guess. This was a fun little game, too! Then again, Professor Lupa always did have pretty awesome classes!
Abby feels the ivy grow tighter around her legs. It slowly works its way up her body covering her chest and tightly winding around her arms. The ivy continues up around her head covering it with a little house. Abby squirms and struggles trying to break free of this non magical menance. She manages to get her hands free, so she can cut another diamond out of the parchment. She writes an easy rune on it. Abby prays to Thor not only to bless her rune, but also break the ivy vines for her. In a strong clear voice she says, "Hammer in the North, East, South, West, above and below hallow and hold this holy-stead! Around me and in me Asgardhr and Midgardhr! One more thing Thor would you please break the binds this ivy has on me and return Professor Lupa to her normal self. Amen!" Abby not sure if it's proper to use a Christian ending to a pagan prayer, but she figures it couldn't hut. She finishes by kissing the parchment three times-one for each request.
Qaz raised her hand and guessed, 'Did Abby pick the Jera Rune?'

It wasn't like he called her a Beluga Whale or something.
Then there was the hyperness that just seemed to be radiating off of Professor Lupa, which didn't really help matters in allowing him to focus more. But they were creating their own runes, which was alright. Nothing to really distract his mind for too long though, unfortunately. Not even the fact that his legs were bound by ivy could help matters.
Perhaps the first rune he needed to create would have been best having to do with focus. Though none seemed to be suitable, as he glanced downward at the rune list. Not until he reached about halfway down the list when he saw the rune he would select first. Hopefully one that would allow the the ivy to release him. Appropriately suited, Dom took out a spare, clean piece of parchment and cut it out in a diamond.
He then began to trace the rune onto the parchment he'd cut out in a light sketch, whilst chanting it more to himself. He didn't need the embarrassment of loud chanting on top of everything else that was happening.
Once done with his tracings, the fifth year bent his head low to the paper and whispered the blessing and the rune name. Though subconsciously doubting this would work, he was still confident in his selection of the rune and pressed his lips lightly to the fiber.
William put his hand in the air, still a tad dizzy. "Did Dominic use the kaunan Rune?" He asked skeptically, not at all sure of his answer. It was the only one that seemed to fit he figured, shrugging to himself.

One moment the ivy was cupping his face, which had definitely caught him off guard and unable to focus on casting another rune guess. And the next moment he really wished that he could have guessed the correct rune. Because of course it had to be Copernicus or whatever his name was; not that Dom really seemed to mind the kid except that in every single class he always seemed to be like WAY too smart. Figures that a Claw would get the points though and put them even more in the lead...
Dagaz, ugh. He should have known.
But now it was apparently time to have a little guessing game and guess the rune that his classmates picked. Glancing around the room, Dom tried to set his sights on one that might be easy to guess.

But before he could guess, a little first year had mentioned his name and a rune that he definitely had NOT picked. Shaking his head, he sighed. "Nope I didn't pick that one," he tried his best to give an encouraging smile as his eyes set sight on someone finally.

Celandine rounded her cards off into egg shapes and thought about it for a bit before selecting a rune. She cleared her throat and thinking of Freya, began the blessing, "Hammer in the North, East, South, West, above and below hallow and hold this holy-stead! Around me and in me Asgardhr and Midgardhr..." Cela drew the rune and kissed the paper, hoping she'd chosen the right one to get herself out of the ivy. Or actually... hoping that Tobi had.
Does Celandine chose the the Uruz Rune? gasped Daniel
Oh, for the love of Merlin! If anything, the rune she'd just used made the situation even worse. Great. She winced as the vines tightened around her. She needed to think fast and choose another rune! For the third time, Anna gathered her cards and thought even more carefully about a rune that could help her. Her top two choices were obviously wrong, so it was time to use her third choice and hope that it was, as superstition said, a charm. When she'd decided, Anna began the blessing, thinking of Thor as the God she'd like to assist her. "Hammer in the North, East, South, West, above and below hallow and hold this holy-stead! Around me and in me Asgardhr and Midgardhr!" she said. She quickly wrote the rune she'd chosen on a piece of paper, kissed it, and then hoped for the very best.
Herminny raised her hand and asked did Ana pick the uruz rune.
Try to guess the rune the others had picked? Well, that was easy. Not. But bleeeeh, it wasn't exactly hard either. Guessing the right rune, maybe, guessing a rune, not so much.

What was the point of this game? It didn't seem as fun as the last one. Then again, at least they weren't gonna get strangled. Raising his hand, Clifford deided he may as well give it a go. "Uhm.. did Miiiiles choose Jera?"

It symbolizes two branches from a tree or the horns off a cow. The literal meaning of Fehu is 'cattle', which represents wealth. Why? Cause olden days the way you determined how much money you had was by how many cows you had. Your bills could be paid in cows, and each man could be bought and paid for with the big mooing oafs.

"Yes, Tobi did pick Isa, Five points! Can everyone draw Isa?" Putting Fehu back, she pulled out Isa from her bag and showed it. "Isa represents the immoble and pureness of ice. In the same way, Kenaz, or Kauno or Kaunan" she showed them the rune: "Means fire... Go Head, Draw them. No one picked Kenaz, but that's ok... I'm sure no one wanted to be engulfed by fire! See in Norse Mythology, fire and ice are very strong in all the stories. Even the myth of how the world was created has to do with Fire and Ice getting together."

"Sowilo represents the sun, which symbolizes life. In Norse mythology the sun is a 'blazing disc' that is dragged through the sky in a chariot that is pulled by a great wolf. Grrrrr! Wolfs are awesome!"
"No she didn't, she chose Uruz that time." She said pulling the Uruz rune out. "See how it looks like an animal standing on it's legs looking up to the sky? That's how you draw it. It's cause it's the mighty auroch which was a big European Ox, which is now extinct. So this rune represents strength."

"No Evy, Tobi's runes were Thurisaz, Berkana and as Cel-lery said, Isa." She pulled Thurisaz out of her bag. "Thurisaz, means Thorn or Giant. Oh noes. She was so NOT going to cry. The giggling was awful enough.. if Professor Lupa started crying.. well, Clifford might just have to do a runner. Glaring at Barry for this was all his stoopid fault, Clifford quickly piped up, agreeing with Tobi. "YEAH! This is the best lesson we've had all term! I'm having loadsa fun!" ... right.

Qaz got back to making more Runes. She really wanted a full set. Of course, she was working on a wooden set, but this was good practice and get her more familiar with each of the Runes.
So she cut, and sketched and blessed and kissed. It was really a calming experience.

Awww, darn. So she hadn't gotten the correct rune, but at least she'd had an otherwise successful day in class. Anna listened as the professor told about the runes that had been chosen and then instructed the students to draw them. Ouch. Drawing wasn't exactly Anna's special talent, but she figured she'd give it a go anyway. She took out a fresh piece of parchment and copied down the runes and their names.
SPOILER!!: Anna's parchment
There. That looked...decent. It wasn't as perfect as the version the professor had just shown them, but she'd done her very best, at least.
EEEK. He was getting glares now, but wasn`t it girly to EEK? "No,no professer I didn`t mean it that way! It is fun, I just have a fear of...." come on Barry think "Moving plants, but its fine really, carry on and I`m sure it`ll be fun" well it was true, it was very fun, just dangerous.
