Alessia bounced into her classroom, excited to teach her last class. She laid on the floor and took her wand, waving it about. She cast a few spells causing ivy to crawl up the walls and desks around her. She then gave a flourish with her wand, and little pink buds sprouted from some of the vines. "Ooo Pretty!" She said to herself. Now she just needed to wait for the students.

This confirmed it. Professor Lupa was going loony in the head. Paris thought it was crazy for her to be laying about the floor and grinning like the Cheshire cat but she popped like one of those Chinese gymnasts chicks like she was auditioning to be patient of the month at St. Mungos.

She was however excited to making her own rune set so she tried to pay attention and not focus on the fact that she was being taught by a person she was starting to be a little scared of.

Emily rolled her eyes. Lupa had to be THE most irritating professor in the whole of Hogwarts... with all that... giggling. Just urgh! Ems couldn't stand females like that – giggling girls one minute, crying on the potion professor's shoulder the next. Attention seeking - that's what it was.

She was, despite her distaste for the professor's...um.. personality, looking forward to making her own rune set and the readings they would reveal.

Herminny just gave the professor a look, like this woman has gone truly bonkers spreading ivory along the wall and calling it pretty, and what did she mean making a connection with the runes we make?. We make them, we read them for future reference,thats it. What would transfering our energy possibly do to the runes we make Herminny thought?

Miles was taken a back a little at Lupa's behaviour. She was like a little girl! Well, at least she could teach, which was always good, since Miles liked Ancient Runes. Hehe. "Awesome, Professor." He smiled, he couldn't wait to have his own ruuuuuuuune set, that way, no one else could use them! Mwaha!

ooc: Oh Yeah, you are REALLY going to make your own set. Paper is fine, but what works better is index cards or even card stock! If you want to, and are able to, you can make your own rune set with clay or if you have the tools, wood. I'll post the instructions for everything in a thread... But paper will be good for the class. I will also tell you how to make a drawstring bag for your runes.

Wicked Awesome! Celandine smiled happily and stroked the ivy as it twirled up her legs and attached her to the chair. Oh this was going to be sooooooooooooo fun. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fun. EEeeeeP! Cela bounced slightly and looked around the class, trying to decide who she'd do a reading on first with her new, yet to be made, rune set.

"Eeeep!" Vanessa squeaked quietly as the ivy twisted around her ankles, and up her shins, holding her to the desk. She had not been expecting that. Was Professor Lupa going to make them stay here till she was less Hyper? Oh dear.
"Oooh...Cool?" She spoke with a smile. It looked like Lupa was going to excited even if nobody else was. But it sounded like good fun.

Not only was Willow's gigantic personal space bubble very close to be invaded -with people on both of her sides, it was just bound to happen if she moved an inch- but the two human beings beside her were boys. Males. And now Tobi was talking to her, asking about plants! She didn't know a thing about plants. Could people not tell? Seriously, it wasn't like she talked much during herbology, and the girl was sure her expression wasn't particularly joyful during that subject. Maybe Tobi was not really observant--well, he was a boy. And since Willow really didn't know what was Lupa's deal with all the plants, the girl only gave him a shrug as a reply.

And to make things worst, the young Slytherin boy, who now she knew was named Raiden, had caught her staring. Oh, perfect. Things had just gotten better. Not. "I'm Willow. Nice to meet you, too," murmured the girl under her breath, for Lupa was now on her feet, giggling her head off--ugh. Was she friends with Dominic Denton? Well. . . she didn't know; it was just hard to tell. But that wasn't important. What was important was whether she was going to admit being staring at him. Was she? "No, I wasn't," lied the girl quickly, her tone coming out sharp.

Sure it wasn't the kid's fault, but he had reminded her about everything.

As a a little sigh came out from her slightly parted lips, the girl focused on whatever it was that Professor Lupa was ranting about. Making their own runes? That didn't sound so bad, all things considered. In fact, it sounded very interesting, not to mention entertaining. Huh. Perhaps Lupa wasn't entirely insane.

Yeah, right!

Blinking a few times as the woman said 'Wohoooo' (seriously, how old did Lupa think she was?) Willow's only answer for everything she'd said was to nod. And then gasp when something started to twirl a little tightly around her legs.

When she looked down, Willow wished she hadn't. Stupid PLANTS! UGGGHHHH. And clearly, it had been the professor, because the one was cackling like a mentally unstable person--which she was, obviously.

Deep breaths, Willow. VEEEERY deep ones.

.... and Professor Lupa wasn't trying to give him lip-transmitted Professor cooties. Eeeeeeek. He was ready to make a RUNE set. Yay! "WOO!" he shouted with the professor. "WOO!" Fun! Getting excited was fun.

Tobi didn't like plant things that grew unnaturally fast. Didn't like it when they could think for themselves unless he could see where they kept their brains.

Plymouth Morgan was holding hands - holding hands - with Tobi Violent One Avalon. Plymouth liked holding hands but.. he'd never ever expected Tobi to actually take him on his offer. "You're alright mate. It's little pink flowers and if you listen real closely - they just think you're the bee's knees. Good looking brave chap that makes the girls swoooon. The flowers LOVE you." Plymouth scooted his desk as far as the ivy would allow to be closer to poor little Tobi.

With his left hand, Plymouth made Tobi a Rune, too, with a piece of cardstock and a crayon. LIke his CellBell, who was just too cute all the time.

"Here buddy. Manly Rune! Manly flowers! RAWWWWWWR!" Plymouth gave a Vindictus like growl.

It's hard to catch a cardboard rune biffed at your head when your gripping your desk with one hand and gripping your enemy's hand with the other. so Cela's rune bounced off his forehead. It was a sweet gesture though.

Maybe I should draw that rune Cela threw at me.

Theo was confused. She was looking like Poison ivy. Maybe she didn't know who Poison Ivy was. That must be it. He swung his little legs as she went through what they were doing. But Theo couldn't draw. He was useless at it. Unless it was his daddy. He liked drawing his daddy.

"It isn't going to help Cela... you can't just write down a rune and hope it works, silly!" she said. "Chill Toby... the ivy won't hurt you. It's not devil's snare! The plants will only release you when you have created three particular runes..." she looked at Cela and added "and created them correctly... with the process I will describe."

Jane was like scratching the floor trying to hold on to something when the ivy dragged her to the desk. She decided to give up scratching and spoiling her nails. She was going to need her fingers to make the runes.

She waited patiently for the professor to give instructions. She was excited about this rather crafty lesson. Jane was all smiles today. Even if the ivy did remind her of some Japanese horror film.

Then Plymouth air nuzzled in Cela's direction. He'd gotten what she was doing. Just passing on some Ravenclaw loving! "We're ready to make REAL Runes, Professor. You need a hand up? Or something?"

"Alrighty then." She said and turned to the kids. "We are going to be doing a ritual as you do the runes so we will need quiet. No chatting at all! Right now questions are fine, K?" She said and lay on the floor again in front of everyone. "Ok, so first, cut a piece of paper off... it can be a square, a cirle, a diamond... you decide. Lightly pencil a rune on one of them and softly chant the name of the rune. This will draw your energy into the rune symbol. Figure out which rune will help you out of the ivy! Just don't tell me."

"You think of the God you wand to help you bless your Runes and as you say 'Hammer in the North, East, South, West, above and below hallow and hold this holy-stead! Around me and in me Asgardhr and Midgardhr!' Then write the rune on the paper. Lean over, kiss the paper and you are done!"

ooc: DO NOT POST THE RUNE! PM me which rune you've selected and I will RP the vines releasing you. I will not RP it right away as you'll need to use it.

Copernicus carefully traced his rune onto the tiny square of paper he'd pre-cut in anticipation of the lesson. It had taken him a couple of moments to decide just WHICH rune he wanted to try first, but he felt pretty confident about it.

Bending low so those around him wouldn't be disturbed, Copernicus whispered the name of the rune on the paper and then the blessing. Would this really make his scribbled on paper tell him things? He was hoping so. He pressed the paper to his lips.

Dominic honestly never imagined that it would be so easy to persuade the first year Puff to not speak at all. Apparently it was though, which surprisingly made him feel satisfied; more than could be expected what with the way Willow Kovac was still made at him. So what - he called her a chair! It wasn't like he called her a Beluga Whale or something.

Then there was the hyperness that just seemed to be radiating off of Professor Lupa, which didn't really help matters in allowing him to focus more. But they were creating their own runes, which was alright. Nothing to really distract his mind for too long though, unfortunately. Not even the fact that his legs were bound by ivy could help matters.

Perhaps the first rune he needed to create would have been best having to do with focus. Though none seemed to be suitable, as he glanced downward at the rune list. Not until he reached about halfway down the list when he saw the rune he would select first. Hopefully one that would allow the the ivy to release him. Appropriately suited, Dom took out a spare, clean piece of parchment and cut it out in a diamond.

He then began to trace the rune onto the parchment he'd cut out in a light sketch, whilst chanting it more to himself. He didn't need the embarrassment of loud chanting on top of everything else that was happening.

Once done with his tracings, the fifth year bent his head low to the paper and whispered the blessing and the rune name. Though subconsciously doubting this would work, he was still confident in his selection of the rune and pressed his lips lightly to the fiber.

Okay, this is... Weird.

Chose his first rune carefully, in case he had NO idea what he was talking about, he whispered it, and the blessing closely to the parchment. And.. oh this is totally weird! he kissed the parchment like he might kiss his grandmamma, if she weren't a ghost.

She wanted to jump up and run screaming from the room with the vines entwined around her legs and held her fast to her chair. And she had to keep herself from slashing her way through the planets to get to the door. She took a couple of deep breaths to calm herself and keep her mind on the lesson at hand.

She took a piece of her parchment and tore it into a perfect square. She sat back and thought of the first rune she wanted to make. She carefully drew it out on her parchment. She made sure it was as close to the real thing as she could get it before she brought the paper up to her face and chanted the name of the rune. Then she chanted the blessing over the rune ash she lightly kissed the paper.
