As soon as the new Headmaster's speech was over with, Varius stood up high and proud and began applauding awfully loud. "Woohoo! Fantastic, brilliant, superb, excellent, the best, insanely creative, wonderful presentation, the delivery was splendid..." he was running out of descriptive words which meant 'good' with a bit of oomph, "... good stuff ole' chap!"
He returned to his seat and swallowed the bit of steak he had been chewing whilst shouting out all of his adjectives (a most disgusting and unattractive habit the poor boy had inherited from his gummsy grams). "Where is the CHEESECAKE?" he asked no one in particular, in the hope the search would be shortened without much need of investigation as to where the scrumptious deserts' whereabouts were.

"Hey, how was your summer?" she asked from across the table to the now also-second year girl. She didn't get any news from her this whole summer, but that would have meant she was way too busy with the family she missed a lot during her time in Hogwarts. Miranda was grinning and oh so happy to see her friend. She picked up a chickenleg and began taking small bites of it.
News? She tilted her head to the side and devoted her full attention as she saw Kaika straigtening up a bit. She waited, but when nothing in a news-ish type of way came, Miranda was confused.
"Wha..." she started to ask but then she noticed that badge and her eyes grew wide and she sat there staring, her mouth forming like an `o´.
Suddenly she heard the words 'Dominic' and 'prefect' and was instantly woken up from her confused thoughts and Miranda looked up. What was Kaika doing with Rapunzels badge? And where was Rapunzel anyway?
"Oh, yeah! Dominic's a prefect, that is great isnt it?" Miranda smiled, "Just hope those firsties leave him alone..." she leaned in a bit as if about to share a secret "He got into a bit of a discussion with some new ones..." Miranda took another bite out of the chickenleg, flushing it down with some pumpkin juice. She was so excited she was eating too fast.
Then, as if it was as simple as putting Waffles with jam, everything fell into place!
"Ohmygosh!" Miranda exclaimed throwing her hands up, the chicken accidentaly flew from her hand and landed somewhere. But Miranda wasn't paying attention to that.
"Kaika! Your'e Captain!" she almost yelled. Her chicken long forgotten. "That is just awesomeee!" Miranda hugged her... New Captain. This was great news, and Kaika was going to be an exellent captain! "Congratulations!" she grinned
Then out of nowhere, Emalyn, their other awesome teammate sat down across from them. Yay, soon the whole team would be gathered!
"Emalyn!" Miranda exclaimed, she wanted to hug her, but there was this big wooden table in the way. Oh well.
"How are you?" Miranda asked, she was about to ta
ke another bite of the now dissapeared chicken but seeing as it wasn't there in her hand, her eyes searched the table. Huh.
Shrugging, she picked up some fries on her plate instead. | |

She pondered on what she should say and decided quickly. "What are classes like here? Do we still do reading and math or....just magic?" Melanie asked, knowing which one she would rather do. She pulled the messy ponytail from her hair. Her dad had insisted on doing it for her, the day she left for Hogwarts..... ,but he wasn't exactly the best when it came to that stuff. Melanie's hair fell to her shoulders softly and she tucked one side behind her ear. She jumped as a girl reached over the table and hugged Emalyn. She grinned though. Theses people were seeming alot nicer and the two she had talked to were very nice....

She was surprised by this turn of events. When she thought of quidditch captain, Rapunzel immediately sprung to mind. If it was true about Kaika, she was definitely excited for her. "If so, that's great!"

[/B] Melanie smiled back, warmly, easing up a bit around the other girl. "If you mean muggle-born as in born by well.... not wizards, I suppose I am." she said uncertainly. She had heard the word muggle and what it meant by being around people and listening to them talk during her trip to Diagon alley. Melanie took the jug from Emlyn, wondering what it was. "Um, thanks." she said as the older girl explained. She picked up a glass and mimicked Emalyn, pouring the liquid into it. Melanie looked at it carefully and then took a sip. It was delicious. "Mmmmmm, It's really good!" she exclaimed, licking her lips. She listened carefully to what the other girl said. "Okay It's Ema then!" she said brightly. "Thanks." she said as Ema complimented her name. "Do you mean did someone else have it besides me?" Melanie asked. "I was named by my mother, but I wasn't named after anyone. My mom just liked it a lot..." she drifted off a bit, thinking about her mother. Melanie's hand instinctively went to the silver heart locket at her neck. She snapped back to their conversation as she realized Ema was still speaking. Awww Math?!? Melanie was excited to go to the classes. She was curious as to what they were about. Melanie laughed along with the other girl. "I suppose I will be too... but there weren't any books or anything on muggles on my list." she said, her forehead creasing a bit.

Maddox Darcy walked in the great hall, at his full height of 6'3, clad in his leather cloak and combat boots. It was his last term here, and he would be enduring it without his best friend. Hopefully it wouldnt be so mundane without him. He would do his best and try his hardest. The only distractions he had now were Penny, Astrid, and Kayla. But you never know, he might need to add some girls to his list.
He looked up and down the gryffindor table for that beautiful blond 13 year old, who was more like a little sister to him, but he couldnt see her. Maybe he would look for her a little later. He then moved on to his own house table and looked for his other two girls.
Once he spotted Penny and Kayla he grinned. Penny he had sat with on the train ride, but he hadn't seen Kayla yet. He hadn't seen her since Greece actually. As soon as he got closer to them, he winked at Penny.
Once he was behind Kayla he placed his hand sneakily over her eyes and whispered into her right ear, "Guess who, my love?" He grinned and waited for the shrieking to begin. He didn't care if she was in the midst of showing off her new found authority; he needed to talk to her.

She smiled at Sarah. Cadence loved making new friends. As she reached for a cupcake she continued. So, what do your parents do?

Melanie laughed along with the other girl. "I suppose I will be too... but there weren't any books or anything on muggles on my list." she said, her forehead creasing a bit.
"Yes, muggleborn as in born to non-magical people. Yes, the pumpkin juice is really good here. It's one of my favorite drinks...well not drinks. That sounds like an adult kind of drink. But one of my favorite beverages, anyway!" Emalyn studied her plate for a moment. "Well, some names run in people's families, so I just wondered. Well, it's your choice what classes you take, really. There are tons to choose from. Maybe you didn't get books for muggle studies because books aren't necessary for the course? I'm not entirely sure." Emalyn looked around, wondering what she should say next. "I presume you bought a wand in Diagon Alley," she said. "It was hard for me to believe that I would be able to do anything with it. But you'll catch on fast."
