Kaika looked up, a girl seemed to be talking to her. Her eyes readjusted and her face clearly denoted a confused expression. Well, the girl must be new, she'd never seen her before, "Hi, Abby...Umm, no, I've been coming to Hogwarts since my first year" she said, where was the bubbly Kaika now? "However, you do seem to be new, right?" she smiled this time, and suddenly remembered that she had not introduced herself to the girl, "I'm Kaika, Kaika Lockhart" she said, with a nod and an extension of her hand for Abby to take.

Huh. Kaika's name was short enough that that's how the people she knew called her. Certainly that wasn't worth mentioning. She looked around for a moment, now she was looking at the faces in the table, Miranda was there and Kayla too...with a Prefect badge!? What-Seriously? Her eyes widened slightly...only to be opened further more by the next sight...

Was that a Prefect badge on Dominic's robes?! Okay, was she having a dream? Probably not, otherwise Punz will be here, right? Kaika shook her head for a moment. She was still in a bit of a shock by this out-of-this-world news.

Waaiiiiiiiitt. He was Prefect. And he was arriving late to the table. Ha. Smooth. And he looked oh-so-tired. Well, don't they all? The trip was obviously exhausting to everyone.

Oh, this was unexpected. Of course, people must know by now that she was the new Captain, right? She was still wanting to keep it a bit to herself, but that never happened. She remembered how she was the one to practically tell the whole Great Hall when Rapunzel was the Captain, by only greeting her. Go figure, times had changed.

"Nice to meet you, Set! You'll be sure to find out when the tryouts are...trust me" she said, with a wink afterward. The tryouts never went by missed by anyone. "Same here!" she said, raising her voice a bit, since the boy had already walked away. He was obviously very outgoing. Always a good thing.

"Yea, I've heard that almost everyone who goes here thinks of it that way" Reed said refering to when Reese said it was like her home. "Well I guess I expected it to be like this, but I just underestimated a bit" He admitted. Then he thought back to everyone that he had already met. "Umm, I dont think so, I did meet a first year that hoped to be in Slytherin but I think that was about it" He told her. "So you get the privlidge of being my first Slytherin friend at Hogwarts" he said with a laugh.

Kayla took a considerable amount of time before she answered Amanda's question, she wanted to say it as delicately as she could. "Well he seemed nice enough but I don't think he's ready to commit to anyone. I noticed that as soon as you made the introductions, he kind of ignored you while he was speaking to me and Whitney. That's just plain rude if you ask me, if he likes you as he says he does then he should have been happy to have you part of the conversation."

She gave Amanda a smile. "Well there you go, you got nothing to worry about then. You seem to have them hanging off you" Kayla chuckled lightly. "I think I might be jealous...nah I've got the one I want."

*Gabben smirked and got up, walked down the table a little and bent down and whispered to Kayla.*

"Sound a wee bit like an after school show right now Ms. Prefect..." *He sat down next to the girls and grinned at Amanda.*

"Ello, I'm Gabben Gardner." *He then held a hand out to her.*

Abby shakes her hand. "Nice to meet you Kaika. Yes, I'm definitely new here. I transfered from Barrow School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the United States. I never realized there would be so many students here at Hogwarts. Barrows has a much smaller enrollment. Did I hear right? You're the Quidditch captain for Hufflepuff?"

"Yeah,people do think this is their home,"Reese said."First Slyteherin friend?I feel special."She smiled and picked up a brownie that was sitting on the table and tok a bit of it."So,do you have any siblings?"

"Yeah, I mean he pretty much acted as though I wasn't there. From what I've seen, he's definately a bit of a player, flirting with pretty much every girl he sees. I mean, I can't be with someone like that, I want someone who will only pay attention to me and not turn their head when a prettier girl walks by" Amanda said honestly, she could tell after she met Zeke that Kayla wasn't really impressed with him.

"There's no need to be jealous of me, I've been meaning to ask how Nico is, since I never got a chance to see him over the summer." Amanda said, then laughed at the idea of Kayla being jealous, there was no way.

"Pleasure to meet you Gabben, the name's Amanda Lesalle, 3rd year Slytherin." Amanda said, extending her hand to shake his. What was this? She seemed to attract a lot of guys lately, which shocked her.

Wow. United States. "Really? That's amazing!" she loved it when people came from somewhere else, other than England. She'd never heard the name of the school Abby had been in, but that didn't matter. "Oh, yes, we're...quite a lot" now she was realizing that the Great Hall was full of heads, something she hadn't realized before.

"Oh, you're going to love it here!" she grinned, now this was the Hufflepuff girl everyone had been used to, all happy, "Well, I love Hogwarts already...and I'm pretty sure everyone else does" ask Dominic, he must have loved it if he returned for another year, this was way more fun that being home schooled, then.

Eeek. Yes, it had to spread anytime soon, "Why, yes, I am" a sudden confidence came out of nowhere, "And if you like Quidditch then you should try for the team..." she added. In a few minutes she became the same girl used to Hogwarts, and the nervousness of beginning a new year as Captain, the same year that the OWLs were taking place, suddenly disappeared.

"So, Abby, what brings you to Hogwarts?" she asked, though, she was most certain that the school's reputation had been always held up high.

Penny walked in to the Great Hall alone. She lost Maddox somewhere along the way. She stopped and looked around. This was her last year. Sighing quietly she walked over to the Hufflepuff table, found a spot and took a seat. She looked up and down the table seeing of she could spot old face, in the process she saw some new faces as well.

Set finished his pie, and then listened as Cadence and John talked. He was drifting in and out of sleepp.

Reed gave her a smile as she said somthing about being special. "Well I have a twin sister, Baylie, that is a fourth year at Beuaxbatons." He told her. "I also have three stepsisters, the oldest Jordan, just graduated from here last term. Then the two others, Camryn and Colleen, are seventh and sixth years at Beauxbatons too" He mentioned. "What about you? Any siblings, or do you have the privlidge of being an only child" He said with a grin.

Lima sighed as she entered the Great Hall. She looked around the room sadly thinking about how this was her last year there. She couldn't believe that this would be her last welcoming feast. Sighing again, she sat herself down besides Penny. "Hello," she said smiling at her friend.

Kayla looked up to see who was whispering into her ear and she smirked back at him. "Is that right? Are you eavesdropping on our personal conversation?" she watched as Gabben sat down beside them and introduced himself to Amanda. "Enjoying the feast Mr. Gardner?"

"Every guy I know likes to flirt and that includes my Nico" she laughed. "But it's one thing to flirt another to completely ignore someone you supposedly like. He sounds to me as though he is not worth your time Amanda..."she nodded her head towards Gabben..."like I said there is plenty more guys out there."

"He is good but I miss him so much already" damn his uncle for making him stay home and help with the business. "Jealousy is not a good thing" she mused loudly, it tends to get you into lots of trouble.

Cadence nudged Set and giggled. Hey no sleeping! We're at Hogwarts! Besides, I can't sleep, so you're not allowed to! She smiled at her best friend.

"Wow.You are just surrounded by girls,aren't you?"Reese said with a smile.She finished off her brownie before replying to Reed's question,"Well,I have a brother that's living with my mom up in Ireland and well,I also have an adopted brother...but I don't like talking about him."

*He shrugged.* "As much as one can I guess. Are you?"
*As he said this he pulled a plate over and started eatting some bacon chips then smiled and nodded to Amanda.*

"Nice to meet you too."

"Sadly yes" Reed said hanging his head down for a second and then looking back up at Reese with a smile. He hadn't been surrounded by girls his whole life, that was a recent devolpment. Then she said something about not liking to talk about her adopted brother. He decided not to ask any questions, he didn't want to make her uncomfortable in any way. Especially not on the first day of the term.

"I decided it was time I spend some time in my home land. My dad works in the diplomatic department of the Ministry of Magic. He's ambassador to the USA. I've lived it seems like everywhere except Great Britain. I'm sure I'll love it here too. Hogwarts has a great reputation." Abby thinks she'll like this girl. She's just a bubbly as Abby is. "I'm afraid I've never played Quidditch before. I'm really looking forward to following the Hufflepuff team this year."

"Pssssh.Nothing is wrong with girls anyways,right?"Reese said with a smile."I was stuck around guys my whole life."She sat in the quiet for a minutes,then broke the silence."Do you play any instrument?Yes,I know that was a random question.But I'm a random person."

"I never said that anything was wrong with girls" He said giving her a quick smile. Reed was relieved when she broke the silence. He hated awkward silence. "No, random is good" He said with a nod. "Guitar and the piano. Not too many people know I play the piano, it was something my mother made me take as a child." He told her.

Set got his cup of coffee! "Don't worry, now that i have my coffee, I'll be fine! So, what are we talking about. i was zoned out!" said Set.

"Aww what's wrong Gabben? Isn't talking to two hot girls enough excitment for you?" Kayla giggled as she gave Amanda a small wink. "Oh yes indeed I am, might have something to do with the company."

Well we all sort of stopped talking because we got so involved with stuffing our faces. Was that the Quidditch Captain you were talkikng to? What did you say? What did SHE say?

"Well then, if he's not worth my time, then he can figure out stuff all he wants by himself, and if he comes back to me, it'll be too late. Frankly, I had a bad feeling about him the whole time I was on tour. Before I forget, I'll mention about my latest tour, it was insane, like when I was in Perth, Australia, there were so many guys there who wanted to meet me backstage after my show. I guess I'm just able to attract guys now, which is a bit intimidating to me" Amanda said, then laughed. Well it was good to get her friend's opinion on this before she went off and got herself hurt.

"Aww, well you'll get to see him during the holidays right?" She asked and smiled. She'd have to owl Nico sometime during the term to let him know how things were going.

"So are you new to the school? Cause I don't think I've seen you around before, but I haven't really socialized properly with Hufflepuffs for the past 2 terms" Amanda said, then smiled.

"When you said 'sadly yes' it sounded like...well,you didn't like growing up with girls,"Reese said.She looked at him when he said random was good."I'm glad you think so.Because I will just say random things.It's just me."She smiled at him."Guitar?Wow.I play guitar,too.I've never played to piano,though.I actually refused to when my step mother wanted me to.I thought it would be boring."She slightly shrugged.
