All of a sudden it had gone dark as someone placed their hands over her eyes and she felt the person's breath beside her ear. Once she heard the familiar voice of Maddox Darcy though, Kayla couldn't contain her delight at hearing her best friend's voice. "Maaaaaadox" she squealed loudly. Jumping up from her chair, she turned and faced the hot looking Huffie and she flung herself into his arms. "Oh my god where have you been? I've missed you so much."

"Okay,"Reese said.She looked at John then back at Reed.She felt a little bad that John was hurt,but technically,it wasn't her fault."I hope so,"she said.She picked up her cup full of pumpkin juice and took an other sip."Do you think I should go talk to him?Sort things out?"

Reed picked up his second brownie for the night. "Ummm.... I don't know" He said looking at Reese. "I don't think it would hurt." He really wasn't sure what she should do, it didn't seem like the kid was too hurt but he knew that Reese would feel better if she worked things out.

Penny gave Lima a small smile. "I so know what you mean." she said with a sigh. "I am looking for...." she started to say, then she looked up. She saw who she was looking for. Some how he dissapear when they were walking to the Great Hall. She caught Mads wink and smiled. She waited for Kaylas reaction, before she started to talk to them. Then, Penny turned back to Lima and gave her another small smile, this one of apology.

Lima frowned when she noticed Maddox walk by and wink at Penny before going over to Kayla. But she didn't let it phase her. She was working at forgetting Maddox Darcy.

She turned her attention towards getting herself some food while she worked to change the subject. "So how is Pax doing?" There. That was something cheerful.

Reese looked at John then back to Reed."I'll be right back,"she told him.She stood up from the table and walked over to John who was talking to another boy."Um-John.I think we had a missunderstanding.I wasn't laughing at you,I was laughing about a inside joke Reed and I have.It had nothing to do with you.I promise,"she apoligized to him."I'm sorry if I offended you."

Kaika smiled, looking at Ema, "Good, I'm glad you had a great summer..." she nodded, and then noticed the fact that her pumpkin juice was sitting on the table without being untouched yet, so she took a sip of it, "...my, summer, well, was somewhat agitated...but very good" as usual, the one summer she didn't enjoy was the one from second year to third, giving the unusual movements throughout the Ministry.

Well, if Emalyn was going to tryout again, Kaika hoped the girl had rested enough while she was away.

And then, she heard something that made her look to the girl sitting close to Ema, "Have I heard correctly? Your name's Melanie Lockhart?" well, this was certainly strange. This was the first time that she'd heard her family name by someone that she didn't know.

Half a smile was placed on her face, apparently Miranda was being a bit slow about catching the big news, well, big for Kaika, of course. The fellow Huffie was probably waiting on Kaika to say it, but she kept quiet, considering they've gone over a new subject...Right, DOMINIC as PREFECT!

"Ummm...I don't know if it's a good thing..." she said, her face showing how much she didn't actually like that idea. "I'm not sure if he's well suited for power...you know" she shrugged, it's not like he was named Headmaster, but a little power given to the wrong people could be...well, a catastrophe. Let's just hope it does him well.

And then she laughed, he was already having problems with first years? "He should pick at least same ages if he wants to argue with someone" she commented, still laughing. That was amusing.

Yes! Miranda understood it all. "Yes! It is awesome! If only Rapunzel was still in Hogwarts...I'm going to miss her very much..." however, all that Kaika knew was that her former Captain wasn't coming this year, but she didn't even know why or where she went. The only thing Kaika knew was that she had to do her best...for Rapunzel and for Amelia. "Thank you, Miranda" she said, with a smile on the brunette's face.

But Miranda didn't have to answer Emalyn's question, "Yep..." Kaika said, showing the badge a bit this time, "Thanks!" she added, hopefully they'll win the Cup this year, and then a thought came to mind. A thought not entirely related to Quidditch, which was something weird coming from Kaika. "And practices will be harder this year" a sort-of-evil grin spread across her face.

RaeAnne Ruix walked into the great hall and sat down at the Hufflepuff table. She was new, from Spain, so she was a bit, lonely to say the least coming to this school. Smiling brightly, she drank a bit of juice and looked around, almost hopefully.

Hi boys! Cadence said as she walked over to behind Set and John. Did you hear that some first year boy passed out and had a fork up his nose?

Curt smiled as he noticed a little first year that was staring in the direction of all the ghosts. He himself had been pretty mesmerized by them when he was a little firstie here at Hogwarts. The guy was probably nervous, Curt sure was in his first year.

Decided to spark of conversation, Curt turned in the boys direction. “The Fat Friar should be coming out soon.” He said with a wink, as he took a sip of his pumpkin juice. “Always a bit later than the rest of the ghosts.” This was indeed true, Hufflepuff was always a bit more laid back.

Gabe walked into the Great Hall amazed at what he saw. His parents had described it to him, but it was nothing compared to seeing it in person. Of course he was probably a sight considering he had Ivory perched on one shoulder and Ebony on the other. He couldn't find the girl from the bookstore to return him, plus the owl seemed way too attached to want to leave him. So, he found an empty seat at the Hufflepuff table and sat down quietly scanning the room occasionally.

John looked at Reese and wondered if he should forgive her, in the end he decided to give her one last chance. "Okay maybe I was a bit hard on you, after all we had only just meet and if you say it was a joke you were laughing at I'll believe you." He thought to himself. I'll believe you this time. He was just about to say something else to her when Cadence came upto them with the news she had.

"What, where?" He was shocked he was wondering if she was okay as he hadn't heard anything. Maybe he had misheard her "did you say that a first year boy passed out with a fork up his nose." He was sure he was hearing things.

He then turned back to Reese "Reese this is Cadence, Cadence this is Reese" He smiled to both of them "Reese do you mind if us three join you?" He wanted to stay with Set and Cadence until he knew that he could trust her.

Ana heard what Cadence just said "A fork up his nose...ouch... but who? is he alright?" she asked

Through the barriers of his temporary obsession of the ghosts, Jake heard a voice break through to him. Shaking his head a little and turning to face him, Jake listened to what the boy said and nodded. He knew he was being impatient, but that was his nature, and he'd be sure to grow out of it.

"The Fat Friar is nice, isn't he?" Jake asked, uncertainly. It didn't really matter, he reasoned. The ghosts weren't able to hurt people... right? Right?

Then the other boy took a sip of that suspiciously orange liquid that smelled of pumpkins. Noticing his own glass in front of him, Jake poured a little out and drank it down.

Shuddering, Jake pulled a face like someone had just squeezed a whole lemon's worth of lemon juice in his mouth. "Think I'll stick with water," he muttered, shaking his head.

Yet another familiar but not-too-familiar voice made her face turn. Why, of course, Mr. Diggory. Now that was the nicest guy she'd met that was a Hufflepuff. Well, Maddox was also nice, but she'd met Curt before.

"Curt! How are you?!" Kaika exclaimed, walking over to where he was. Huh. He seemed to be talking ghosts with the boy near him, "Later, but somewhat reliable, right?" she said, commenting on their own House ghost, which brought her to think that it was time for it to come. What could be more important than the first day!? The answer to that was obvious, any Quidditch match or practice.

"Notice anything new?" she asked, looking at him, he'll be more likely to spot the badge sooner than the rest.

She couldn't help to laugh softly at the boy's face, it reminded her of her own brother, Trey didn't like pumpkin juice either, but they did share an obsession for chocolate frogs and muffins.

"Yes, not everyone likes pumpkin juice....I do, but my brother doesn't...either way, you can still have any kind of juice you want" she said, pointing at several jugs in the table.

Yes! A fork! Up his nose! She said staring around at all of them. I'm not sure where he is. A girl from Ravenclaw come over to the table a bit ago looking for someone to help him. Then she said something about the teachers' shoes being tied together. I think someone may have spiked her pumpkin juice. She giggled at this, wondering if the girl had been telling the truth.

"Thanks,John,"Reese said.She smiled at the girl John introduced to her."Hello,Cadence,"she said.She looked bac at John we he asked if he and his friends could join her."Oh-sure.I'm going to go back over to Reed.But your more than welcome to come with me."She smiled.

"Hey! Wait!" Adrianna called as she saw the boy walking along the table. She slowed her pace as the boy sat down. Suddenly, Ebony turned his coal head and launched off of Gabe's shoulder to fly toward his mistress. ADrianna's arms were wide open and she caught the owl, wrapping her arms around him delicately. "You silly owl!" she muttered, stroking his feathers as he cooed softly.

Penny watched Lima frown at Mads. She shrugged it off. Penny sighed at the mention of Pax. "Annoying. Like always. Still would not drop the subject." she told her friends. The main topic at her house this summer was her and Mads. It was really driving her up the wall. Then all of the sudden she heard the commotion at the staff table. She looked up to see all the staff falling over. Penny elbowed Lima and pointed to the table. "Look what is going on. There are ghost here." she said.

Curt grinned at the kid as he asked if the Fat Friar was nice. He certainly thought so, he’d never actually spoken with the ghost, but he was notorious for being the friendliest of the ghosts, or at least right up there with Sir Nicolas. “Yeah, he’s great.” Curt said, hoping to ease the boys tension.

The little first year took a sip of his pumpkin juice and made a nasty face in reacion. That was a little unexpected, Pumpkin juice was delicious. “You don’t like it?” He said in shock, they kid seemed to be new to it. Maybe he was muggleborn? “You are officially the only person I know that doesn’t like pumpkin juice.” Curt shook his head and laughed, the only thing that topped it was butterbeer and firewhisky. Noticed that he hadn’t even introduced himself yet, Curt put his hand out. “I’m Curt by the way.”


Before he knew it, a more familiar voice rang out from his left. Ah! It was Kaika, fellow Hufflepuff Quidditch teammate. They were going to be a tough team this year, even though Punzie was gone, they were still going to be a strong force. “Hey Kaika!” He said with a big grin, “I’m doing great, a little tired, but good.” He said with a nod, he had been up all night with his brother playing exploding snap, thankfully he caught up on a little bit of his sleep on the express. "What about you?" He asked, feeling more at home by the minute.

Later, but reliable, that was very true indeed. “Right.” Curt said in response with a small grin as he took a another drink of the orange liquid. Kaika asked if he noticed anything new, and right as she said that Curt’s suspisions were confirmed. Of course Kaika was appointed captain! She was the perfect choice, no doubt. Her captain badge fitted her very well, and Curt nodded his head in appreciation, smiling vibrantly. “I knew it!” Curt said, giving Kaika a big smile. “Congrats! You are gonna do awesome.” He said with a confident nod, “It really is about time we take the cup back, eh?” That had been SO close the past few years.

"This first year will be agitated! Look at the ghosts!... Do you guys saw our ghost?". She was fascinated with all the new things

Yes, everyone was a bit tired, they better get some rest before tryouts, practices and matches begin. Otherwise, each and every teammate was going to fall asleep in classes. And she couldn't allow that. If only she didn't have OWLs this year, then everything will be perfect.

"Me? Oh, just glad to be home" and now, super excited to be beginning a new year, and super nervous, and super curious as to how the new professors will be like. She didn't like neither of them from afar. The good thing was that the Herbology teacher was gone. Yay! It was the one that frightened her the most.

A grin spread across her face. He got it right as soon as she mentioned something slightly related. "Thank you! I certainly hope so..." she said, nodding her head off, "...yes, we will...I like to see you trying out" now her face was suddenly serious, but Quidditch was serious business.

"I suppose in time I might get used to it," Jake reasoned. It seemed to be the Pepsi or Coca-Cola of the wizarding world. "I'm not a lover of juices," Jake smiled, biting his lip. "At home I'd have fizzy drinks or water."

Sigh. Seems his hyperactive days were over.

Hold up... they were talking about beverage preference... why?

Nodding, Jake hoped that was true. He'd been watching that Slytherin ghost and he was glad he wouldn't have to be judged to see if he was worthy of his house like what was happening with Cameron. And by the looks of it, Cameron was failing.

"I just think it's the new stuff," Jake shrugged. "Bit too much change for one day, although juice flavours seems a bit bizarre to be classed as a big change."

Whoa.... hold up. Quidditch captain?

Jake span round to the girl. "You're Quidditch captain for this house? I was going to try-out," he announced, for no apparent reason. "It seems brilliant."

Ella blinked at the conversation the people surrounding her were having. Something about a first year getting a fork up his nose.... "Um.... why did he have a fork up his nose?" she asked, piling food onto her plate.

"Oh," she said biting her lip. She knew exactly what Penny was referring to. "He still won't drop it?" Man, that must be annoying for Penny to have people think that she was in love with Mads. It was silly to her; just like if people thought that Lima was in love with Miles.

She shook her head at the thought and was about to say more on the subject when Penny elbowed her rather hard. She flinched and turned her gaze to where the girl was indicating.

"Why do you think they are there?" she asked curiously as she watched the ghosts.
