Cadence walked into the Great Hall and over to the Hufflepuff table where she sat down with Melanie and Isabella. She grabbed a sandwich and placed it on her plate, along with some grapes and carrot sticks. So, Isabella, how are your classes?

Cadence had been around Melanie enough by now to know what she was thinking and warned her, "Lanie, that chocolate isn't going to help. It'll give you energy for a little bit, but afterwards you'll be even more tired than you are now. Why are you so tired, anyways? Cadence asked then took a bite of her sandwich.

Can Cadence read minds now to? Melanie thought grumpily. Her hazel eyes widened a bit as the girl told her chocolate was bad. Chocolate bad?! It's crazy talk... "Chocolate isn't bad... It helps people everyday." she stated. Chocolate can solve world hunger.

Melanie grinned like she knew a private joke that no one else had heard before. She had heard this much from her overly healthy father and was halfway tempted to roll her eyes, but stopped herself. "Here, then." she said with finality, picking up a hard boiled egg Ick and eating it. Melanie smiled, a satisfied look on her face. "See protein."
Melanie laughed at her friend's next comment. "Just everything... with all these people there seems to be a lot of it." she said, carefully choosing her words. "Please don't hex anyone." she said with a teasing grin.

But also sort of scary because I had my partner take this short cut, and then her dot just disappeared from the map, and I just had to guess which way to take her to get her out!
