Ethan had left the windows open in the classroom and the brisk January air had succeded in freshening up and freezing up the room. Truebridge closed the windows and sat at his desk, wrapped in warm layers to ward off the icy temperature in the classroom.

Hmm, the desks were straight again. He flicked Loretta and the desks all moved a fraction of an inch in various directions. Satisfied by this, Ethan flicked his wand at the board, revealing the topic of todays class.

Raising one hand, Raiden tapped his chin thoughtfully with his other as he thought.

"I think it might pre-date the story," he said softly. "Maybe Beedle used that rhyme to get his point across? Knowing that line about elder, he decided to have the wand in the story made of elder to point out even more strongly the fact that the oldest brother wouldn't succeed. A bad wand made by death out of wood that's supposed to be kinda bad luck? That oldest brother wasn't thinking very much..." He thought for a moment. "'s possible that Babbity Rabbity was written because of all the anti-wizarding world stuff Muggles were doing... Maybe Beedle felt that if we were to do what Babbity did, the Muggles would leave us alone, even knowing what we are." Another pause. "And the Hopping Pot could be his way of pointing out that, while the Muggles weren't exactly being nice... Wizards weren't being all that nice either? And that might've been his way of saying that we needed to shape up and be nice, and then the Muggles would be nice right back."

Maddox had a thought. No one had put up the summary for the lessons the class had come up with on the board yet. He quickly raised his hand and replied, "Professor, May I summarize the lessons for the three brothers on the board? It hasnt been done yet." He smiled and waited for a response.

Then Herminny took a breath thinking about the Tales of the Three Brothers and raised her hand to say, " I believe Beetle learned about the objects the brothers recieved from the oldest boastful brother who probably talked about all the objects one per brother and this is where the tale got it's inspiration
I believe Beedle came up with the ingenious idea to put death in the mix of all this cause he saw a way to connect the items in this way."

"I like your point about connecting the hallows through Death. Thank you." Ethan nodded.

Theh's always a li'l chance tha' de who'e storeh was jus' one big dream, tha' 'e wrote down an' mehbey added a few li'l additions 'ere an' theh ta make i' more in'erestin'..." shrugging once more, the small, shaggy-haired boy finally shut up.

"Quite right. He might have faced persecution himself, thank you. And you never know, dreams are powerful things." Ethan agreed.

Tobi grinned; who could miss the oversized print of Maddox's last two points? Not Tobi anyway, and he knew that they were totally directed at Mouth-off Morgan he held out a hand for Maddox to High Five as he stalked by.

Maddox grinned at Tobi. They were definaly on the same brain wave right now. He gave a high five back, and quietly sat down.

Tobi just couldn't resist the temptation. WHAT had happened to the good little boy that always did what he was told? Always kept his nose clean? Never picked fights?

He had obviously fallen in with a bad crowd. Impulse seizing him, Tobi jumped up from his desk, sprinted to the backboard and modified Maddox's notes just a bit. (For Plymouth's benefit of course.)

When the seventh year bolted to the board and underlined one of the lessons, Raiden blinked in confusion. Had he missed something? Were they supposed to try and get across that there were some lessons that were more important than the rest?

If the seventh year could do it, he supposed he could too... And those boys were upsetting Celandine because it seemed that one of them wanted to have her... and the other had done something. He wasn't sure what...

"Mr. Professor Truebridge," he said quietly, standing and stepping forward. "May I?"

And, without waiting for confirmation, he took a bit of chalk, stepped up to the board, and underlined what he thought was the most important lesson to be taught up on there.

Kayla rolled her eyes at the two seventh years and let out a small chuckle. "Oi you two" she whispered, "He's mine, I get to have first go. You two can have what's left." Pfft...there would be nothing left of Plymouth Morgan when got her hands on him and that was gonna be real soon.

Ethan watched as Tobi and Raiden made additions, clearly indicating which lessons they thought were most important. Hmmm.

Well, Ethan had one that he thought was the most important lesson from the tale of the three brothers, and in particular a lesson that related to the elder wand.

He picked up the chalk and made an adjustment too.

Extra Credit:
Draw a scene from your favourite of Beedle's tales, explain why you chose it.

"Alright, thank you. All of you did well today. Mostly." Ethan paused and shot a look between his dunced Ravies. "You may leave once you have copied down the notes and the homework. Copernicus and Plymouth, once everyone has left you will sit down at your desks."

Truebridge wondered if Plymouth was hearing any Cats.

Herminny copied down the homework and gave the professor a look before she left the room a little distraught from the way the professor had looked at her for giving long detailed answers thinking, I like history, thats all it is.

Barry got up from his seat and muttered to Cela "Don`t be long" he muttered. And he gave Copernicus a look that said good luck and so he left the class room wondering where he stood.

Jake quickly took down a note of the points on the board and copied his homework down on a separate piece of parchment. Checking it over a few times, he nodded once to himself and packed his things away. Before leaving he smiled at Truebridge. "Thanks for the awesome lesson, sir," he said, before leaving. That was a lesson and a half!

Abby copies the last of the notes off the board and the homework assignment. One week...I'm going to really have to hussle. I haven't even started my Ancient Runes homework. "Excellent class, Professor Trubridge. It was most informative." Abby smiles, packs her book bag up, and leaves.

Plymouth turned around and propped his shoulders against the wall. As he leaned back, he crossed his arms. The tip of his hat was sort of keeping his neck at a weird angle, but otherwise he looked pretty cool. He watched people leaving - threw a wave at the big Puff chap that was staring at him.

Plymouth was not hearing Cats because in his mind he was definitely not thinking about being bad. "That was a pretty fun lesson, huh, Professor?" Plymouth moseyed over to stand near the Professor's desk and otherwise get friendly with Falsebridge. "I zoned out there at the end though. I think I got distracted by looking out the window."

Copernicus waited until it was obvious Plymouth was moving. It would figure that Plymouth had managed to make friends with the Professor as well. He'd certainly have to take his lumps, although he had a word or two for Plymouth once he was sure he wouldn't lost house points for telling the other boy off.

He turned and made his way back to his desk, where he sat down with his eyes straight to the front and his hands clasped in front of him. The professor said to sit at his desk, and Copernicus would do EXACTLY as told.

Plymouth's horror was no small thing. It was so intense it could have parted the oceans or stopped a charging rhino or broke a rainbow into Skittles. Fifteen points for what?!?! For answering questions in class and having a violent ex-stepbrother????

Plymouth took his seat. His body language was close to what it would have been if Truebridge would have slapped him instead. "I just thought we were showing that the Bard was timeless. His stories apply to me and you and him and everyone even today..." Plymouth swallowed loudly. "I guess I took it too far though. I guess I just want him to know that I think it's very, very, very uncool to kiss my girlfriend after knocking her out of a tree. And that goes without even mentioning the little electrocutey situation.." Plymouth was giving Truebridge the big-eyed looks. Sad thing was they were completely genuine. He did NOT want to lose points.

Nick flew into the room quickly, just to see if anything interesting was going on. Maybe class was still in session and he could say hello to a few students, he was craving a little human company and anxious to meet a few new friends. With disappointment, he saw that he had missed the lesson, what a shame. It might have been a fun thing just to hover near the back of the class, taking in the atmosphere. How he missed the old days at Hogwarts.

Sighing, he wondered if those days would ever return.

Wait, there were a few people here. The teacher was here and a couple of students. Maybe he could stay, just for a moment. No, he decided it was better to leave, he might come back later when there were more people around. It seemed that an important meeting was going on, and he didn't want to interrupt.

Nick flew out the door, just as silently as he had entered.

Chris Potter reentered the History of Magic class to find the book he had left earlier. He walked back to back of the class and saw nearly headless nick. "Hello Nick how are you?" he asked as he started to look around for his book.

"Hello there, Chris," Nick greeted. He was just about to fly off when he heard his name called. "I'm proud of you, you are doing an excellent job for Gryffindor. Keep up the good work." With that, Nick turned and flew out the door, disappearing from sight. It was funny how he kept encountering the same students all the time, maybe it was just meant to be.

Copernicus sort of melted down into his seat at first the professor's words and then Plymouth's. He hadn't tried to start anything; in fact, he rather thought they'd been tame considering how angry Plymouth was and how frustrated Cope was. They hadn't yelled or fought... they'd taken Truebridge's questions and the subject matter and applied it to their own lives. It really was impossible to win here at Hogwarts, and Cope found himself wishing he could go back to France. No one hated him there.

"If you're taking points, sir, you shouldn't take them from Plymouth. He's mad at me, and rightfully so. I shouldn't have taken offense at his words, and I know I was a distraction to the lesson... since EVERYONE knows what happened." He rolled his head to the side to glance at Plymouth.

"I don't know what else to do, Plymouth. I told you the truth. I apologized. I've stayed away from her and I won't do it again. I know you can't forgive me, but I wish you'd stop bringing it up in every class we have." Cope looked at them both with a completely miserable expression on his face.
