Plymouth took his seat. His body language was close to what it would have been if Truebridge would have slapped him instead. "I just thought we were showing that the Bard was timeless. His stories apply to me and you and him and everyone even today..." Plymouth swallowed loudly. "I guess I took it too far though. I guess I just want him to know that I think it's very, very, very uncool to kiss my girlfriend after knocking her out of a tree. And that goes without even mentioning the little electrocutey situation.." Plymouth was giving Truebridge the big-eyed looks. Sad thing was they were completely genuine. He did NOT want to lose points.

He hadn't tried to start anything; in fact, he rather thought they'd been tame considering how angry Plymouth was and how frustrated Cope was. They hadn't yelled or fought... they'd taken Truebridge's questions and the subject matter and applied it to their own lives. It really was impossible to win here at Hogwarts, and Cope found himself wishing he could go back to France. No one hated him there.

"If you're taking points, sir, you shouldn't take them from Plymouth. He's mad at me, and rightfully so. I shouldn't have taken offense at his words, and I know I was a distraction to the lesson... since EVERYONE knows what happened." He rolled his head to the side to glance at Plymouth.

"I don't know what else to do, Plymouth. I told you the truth. I apologized. I've stayed away from her and I won't do it again. I know you can't forgive me, but I wish you'd stop bringing it up in every class we have." Cope looked at them both with a completely miserable expression on his face.

"Oh Krazimeriz would have a field day with this." Ethan murmured before looking between the two Ravenclaws. "I have a solution. And I find that I don't care if either of you like it or not. I will not take points for your behviour in class today."

He looked steadily at Copernicus before transferring his regard to Plymouth, "However, until the two of you sort out your differences to my satisfaction, If one of you lose points, I will take the exact same amount from the other. Regardless of the amount or the reason. Because you aren't just letting yourselves down, the young lady in question, or your house; you are letting each other down and clearly can not see that."

Truebridge stood up, "You may leave."

Copernicus rose to his feet, giving the professor a doubtful look. Just like that? Plymouth really hadn't lost many points, and Copernicus was on his very best behavior from here on out, so it was possible they could make it to the end of term without another incident.

"Erm... thank you, Professor. We will, well, I hope we will be able to come to an understanding between the two of us. Do we have to report back to you at some point?"

.... SHUT UP, COPERNICUS!!!!!

Plymouth got up too, but he was prepared to RUN away before the Falsebridge changed his mind. Oddly, it was then that Cats started in play in his head. And what exactly what Copernicus thankful for?!?

Plymouth asked a much better question, "Can I keep the hat? To.. um.. remind me... of all the good things I learned today."

"No. Reporting won't be necessary. I'll know. Don't disappoint me. Apart from... all this. The two of you have managed to impress me." He was impressed, even if he didn't sound impressed.

Ethan thought about it for a moment before raising an eyebrow, "And what 'good things' do you need to be reminded of?" Truebridge crossed his arms across his chest, his tone remaining disinterested.

Ummm.... "I was lying a little there. I'm sorry. I just want to keep it because it's a wicked cool hat. Sorry I lied to you. It won't happen again. I even heard Cats then and did it anyway." Plymouth made the "EEEEK" face. "I'll just give it back and go behave myself." He sighed and took it off. He sighed again. It really was a wicked cool hat.

Cassirin 03-16-2009 05:21 AM

"Right, sir," Copernicus put his hand on Plymouth's sleeve and gave a little tug that said let's gogogoGO. "We'll behave. Impeccably."
