... and he'd been TOTALLy betrayed. It wasn't that he had kissed Cela. It really wasn't. Under all of Plymouth's poofy hair and idiot moments, he knew his whole Celaship wasn't all that serious. She was fun and cute and he sure like skipping down the halls with her... and peppermint toads.... but that was about it. He crossed his arms and sunk down deep into his desk. "Sorry, CellBell. Sorry," he breathed, sure that no one else could hear him. He raised his hand a itty bit and sort of mumbled, "I guess another lesson is that some lessons are just never learned. You know those brothers KNEW better and they just did it anyway. They just did it cause they were selfish and wouldn't their cake and to eat it too." Quote:

Kayla sat quietly listening to all that was going on around her and she rolled her eyes, oh for Merlin's sake. Maybe it was habit but she raised her hand, "And upon hearing all of this the other brother smashed their heads together for fighting over a girl that was too young for them and they shouldn't be kissing her anyway." Oh Nico was just going to love this bit of information. |
Iliana opened her eyes and raised one kitty eyebrow when she saw the young Gryffindor prefect drop the chalk in Ethan's hand. She nudged his hand with her nose as an unexplainable something surged through her. What was it? ...jealousy? Surely not. Then before she could think of it further, the conversation in the class turned strange. She blinked her eyes a few times, turning her head towards the students before laying it back in his lap. Strange! |

FINALLY! Tobi looked up in utter gratitude at whatever force put Kayla in the classroom today, in the WORLD really, to be all aggressive, and 'straighten-up-and-fly-right-you-jealous-idiots!' He looked over his shoulder and mouthed at Kayla, Thank you! |
... i couldn't *not* quote all this... heh. too funny. Quote:

He leveled a look at Copernicus and then another at Plymouth. "Both of you come up here now." |
Copernicus put his head down on the desk. Ugh. Why was Plymouth torturing him like this? Yes, okay, he's screwed up. But he'd admitted it. He'd apologized and begged forgiveness and stayed away from Cela. He couldn't do anything else, yet Plymouth continued to beat him over the head about it. With a huge sigh, Cope stood and went to stand at the front of the room. He tried to look unconcerned... and failed miserably. |

Kayla caught Tobi's eye and she gave him a small salute and a devlish grin as he mouthed the words 'thank you' to her. She could not sit by any longer and not say anything and besides she had been given permission to use whatever force was necessary to keep Plym and Cope away from Cela and she was rather looking forward to it. |

"Apparently neither of you respect me, my classroom or your fellow students." Ethan noted, "Despite my lenience, despite the open forum nature of my classes. Hmm. Interesting. Face the wall, wear the hats and remain standing until class is over. You will not leave when I dismiss your peers." Ethan cleared his throat and without missing a beat, continued with the lesson. "We have established some of the symbolism contained in the tale of the three brothers. We know what the three items are. So, Can anyone tell me briefly; what exactly is a philosophers stone?" |
Abby raises her hand. "Nicholas Fannel created the stone. You could use it the make the Elixir of Life which prolonged the drinker's life." |
Quote:
"The Philosopher's Stone was an alchemic thing that could be used to make the elixir of life... Nicholas Flamel and his wife lady lived off of it for a really long time, until their Stone almost got stolen... they thought it was safer to destroy it, and then they died." |

He smiled back at Kayla, it had a touch of the 'don't eat me' in it however. And turned back around to watch Plymouth and Copernicus face their fate. Poor Copernicus... ah well, just another test of worth... |
Becca held back laughter as the drama unfolded before her eyes. Of course, it all started with Plymouth's comment and spiraled into anger, confusion, and amusement to Becca. Ah, finally. Justice. Maybe Plymouth would finally give up on the smart perfect girls and go for the sane, stylish, and jazzy Ravenclaw instead. When Truebridge called the two boys up to the front of the room, a smirk appeared on Becca's face. "Ohhh this is going to be good," she muttered to the nearest person. Her gaze followed Copernicus more than Plymouth. He seemed to be extremely frustrated or regretful, while Plymouth just revengeful and angry. Poor Copernicus. Public embarassment was the worst, especially since he had been minding his own business. Plymouth was heartless. Becca, trying to contain herself for the moment, raised her hand. "Um, a philosopher's stone is an extremely powerful substance that can change any metal into pure gold, right? And it can somehow provide for immortality by being the foundation for creating what's called the Great Elixir or the Elixir of Life, right?" She glanced at Plymouth and Copernicus, trying not to smirk again at Plymouth's face. |
Staring wide-eyed at the professor, Jake visibly gulped. That had to be puuuuure torture, and he might have felt for Coperniconeycus, if he had the human capacity for empathy. But not Plymouth... no siree bob... whatever he did, he deserved it. Now... what was it they did? Guhh!!!!! Never mind... Jake raised his hand warily. "Isn't the philosophers stone something to do with..." philosophy "...alchemy? Metal into gold and all that fandango..." He had nothing else to say on that matter. Odd boy. |
Kayla raised her hand, "It is a stone that produces the elixr of life, meaning it will making the drinker become immortal and it turns any metal into gold." She had to laugh at the look on Tobi's face, he really was rather scared of her. He had nothing to worry about, on the other hand though the two standing up the front with their dunce hats definitely had more problems. |

"The philosopher's stone, professor," she started speaking, raising her hand first, "would be sort of like the invisibility cloak in the story, wouldn't it?" Or at least that's how she saw it. "To start off,it was,or is,something created by Nicholas Flamel and when used in the Elixer of Life,it allows a person to....well live. What makes it like the cloak,is that once you stop drinking the elixer,or using the stone, in time death will over come you. Without the cloak death can find you and it's basically the same for the stone too. Stop using it and sooner or later that's it." The words were out and she was happy with her answer. This was one class she was very happy with despite the whole "go to your corners" thing. |
Tobi tore his eyes from the hilarious sight of Plymouth Morgan in a dunce hat, it suits him so well... (Tobi hadn't yet gotten over the 'get lucky in the fountain' comment, it seemed) and tried to focus on the question. He raised his hand and prattled off what he knew about the stone, in a nutshell, "Sir, reports about the Philosopher's stone say that was a stone created by Nicholas Flamel employing the art of Alchemy, and the stone itself produced the Elixir of Life, which provided eternal health, as long as one continued to drink the Elixir of Life, they would never die. Legend also says that it could transform any metal into pure gold. In the year 1991, it was said to have attracted the attention of Voldemort, who coveted it for its Life Extending properties. He made attempts to steal it from Gringotts Wizard Bank, but to no avail and it was stored at Hogwarts where Harry Potter thwarted his final attempt in early June of 1992, when the stone was destroyed." |

Dominic had phased out again, for which he wasn't quite sure over what the reasoning behind it was. Perhaps the upcoming quidditch match was affecting his nerves or maybe it was something deeper or stronger or any other random change that was undergoing in his body. Sitting up straighter in efforts to maintain more focus on the lesson at hand, which was something about Children's stories - or so he thought from the last time he'd paid attention to what was happening around him - the fifth year heard another question. Ooh. Resurrection stone! He HAD heard of that one... In efforts to make up somehow for his earlier daze, the fifth year raised his hand. "The resurrection stone was originally owned by one of the Peverell brothers, Cadmus. It is a stone that allows the holder to communicate with the dead and drove Cadmus himself into insanities, since with the stone, you can communicate with the dead, but they are still not really there." |
Kayla raised her hand, "Well the resurrection stone brings people back from the dead, although they're not actually alive. More than ghost but not actually solid either. So both the stones are sort of keeping people around a lot longer than normal." She wasn' teven sure if that made any sense. |
Whitney looked up at Professor Truebridge and felt like asking "what about it?" but knew it wouldn't be the smartest thing to do. She'd simply have to think something up for this. She raised her hand slowly. What she knew about the stone was, "The resurrection stone had the power to bring people back from the dead, but not make them as if they had never died. They were basically as spirits and not people like you and me." 'What else, what else?' "Umm...from what I can remember about it's appearance it has a circle inscribed in a triangle, down the middle. Which I know I've seen somewhere else but....can't seem to remember." Like he needed to know that, but perhaps he knew as well? Whit had no idea what this man was getting at. Sure, she was smart, but she wasn't a mind reader. Going back to the stone,a few things about the person who inherited it popped into her head and she decided that, too, could be needed. "Also, the first owner of the stone tried to bring his beloved back from the dead but seeing as she wasn't really a person he knew she'd never be fully back from the dead and,in the end, committed suicide." There. That had to have been enough and while she didn't know what the professor was doing, sounding like she did was good enough for her. |
Elizabeth raised her hand again. "The Resurrection Stone was a stone Death took from the river, and imbued with the power to resurrect the dead if you turned it over three times. But the people it brought back were caught between worlds, and therefore not real, as in alive again, but not exactly ghosts either." |
Cedric raised his hand,"ummm, resurrection stone was owned by Cadmus Peverell and this resurrection stone can resurrect the one who posses it,it is used by Lord Voldemort to bring back his life and his body by the use of Harry Potter's blood, bones from his own father and flesh from his faithful servant, peter Pettigrew " Cedric said |

Ethan cleared his throat and moved back to his desk, sitting down. "The cloak of invisibilty. What do we know about this? And about invisibility and disillusionment cloaks in a general sense?" ooc: done for the night. I'll get back on when I can, but expect a delay. NO EDITING WHILE I'M NOT HERE. Prefects (and the kitteh) may merge, delete and edit your posts if necessary. There will be a few more questions and by this time tomorrow I'll be wrapping it up and assigning homework... ohhh and the dunces may answer the questions too... from their corners :D |
Kayla raised her hand, "The cloak that death presented to the third brother was a true cloak of invisibility. So strong it was that even death itself could not find Peverell when he was hidden underneath it. The cloak has been passed down from father to son, mother to daughter for many generations and it is still intact and completely infallible. It conceals a person completely and even protects from most spells. Other cloaks that have been hit with a disillusionment charm or bedazzling hex, tend to fade after time and they certainly don't have the ability to protect the wearer." |
