'Gryffindor? Your father did so well in Hufflepuff...' the sorting hat replied. His father had luckily told him about the sorting hat's knowledge of people's thoughts.
'I'm not like my father. Please, put me in Gryffindor.'
'Well, then you should be in... "GRYFFINDOR!"
James almost threw the hat off with glee. He set it down quickly on the stool and ran over to the Gryffindor table. This was so exciting! He was in Gryffindor! He'd thought he'd be in Hufflepuff, but he supposed he was more like his mum than his dad. He sat down at the nearest spot at the table.
Looking around, he said, "Er, hello, I'm James Henry Stapleton." "Hello," Hannah said. "Congratulations on being a Gryffindor! I'm Hannah Weasley." Quote:

lana strode into the great hall and stared in amazement at the ceiling. it was so much more beautiful than her older brothers described it. while dazed, wondering whether she could accomplish this in her own bedroom she bumped into a couple of students sitting at the gryffindor table. "oh, sorry." she said closing her eyes, she couldnt believe she was already making a fool of herself and it was only the first day. "umm...I'm Alana Maelor, please just.. call me Lana." tucking her long curly hair behind her ear she sat down. "im new, a first year in gryffindor."

"No, I'm only half... my father was a wizard, but he died when I was quite young, so really I was raised to be a muggle," she explained. "So you're lucky your Dad was able to tell you things!" she said with a giggle. This boy was nice, and she hoped that she could get to know him better. Maybe even his father had known her's...
