She gave Hayden a confused smile, wondering if something was making her friend upset, thrn added Yeah cell phones would be fun to watch him use. She gave Chris an apologising/amused smile. they're pretty much the same Chris she said when he asked about computers and cell phones. You get in touch with people wherever they are, just by calling them..

Hayden laughed."I didn't that when I got my first i-pod."

"Well," Hayden paused,"I miss my mom and I apperantly have a step dad. I never met him because I was with my dad."She shrugged indiffrently.

"Ok thanks." he laughed to Hayden "Now i dont feel so stupid."

The truth isn't that you don't look stupid Chris Lizzie said and laughed when adding It's that I look smart when I'm with you guys she joked with a wide smile.

"Oh don't feel stupid Chris." Hayden smiled."Trust me I know stupid and your not it."

"haha." chris said "Your hilarious." chris laughed as he joked with her

Jillian burst through the doors of the Great Hall, and stood there in a regal way. She had practiced to keep an upright figure [and it was painful enduring it, mind you] "Fellow Hogwarts pupils..." she announced. "I have arrived."

She then proceeded to walk down the aisle as she smiled proudly, constantly thinking don't slouch, don't slouch. Merlin, would Daphne be proud of her when they saw each other. Jillian looked around and smiled at a few familiar faces before settling down on an empty space. She looked around, searching for Daphne. Where could she be. Jillian pouted, and crossed her arms, unknowingly slouching; Catching herself, she willed her back to stay straight. "I can be well-mannered." she said to herself, nodding. Inside though, she was snickering...yeah right. And as if to agree with her, there was a croak that came from inside her pocket.

I know Lizzie said proudly, then laughed and ate some more potato. But I'm curious how Chalice could make an iPod work in here? I mean, isn't there some magical protection or something against muggle stuff like cell phones and such?

Jake stared down the table... "No... Dominic... no!"

He would make thing so much worse, and then he'd get all angry, and Jake hated it when Dominic got angry. Eyes on the wand in Professor Meanie-Man's claw hand, Jake muttered under his breath so nobody could hear his bizarre statement.

"Galloping cheese wardrobes on a train to Incognito."

In other words; Drat.

Professor Kazimeriz ignored the young tongue-tied man behind him, focusing on the mouthy prefect. His eyes were blazing, though his expression was calm, almost friendly.

"Oh, I am terribly sorry... I failed to consult you before I selected a disciplinary action." he said sarcastically. "Perhaps I need to remind you that though you are a prefect, you are still a student and I am a professor of this school." He paused, reflecting.

"You will spend the rest of the feast seated at the foot of the staff table dais, at the feet of your professors. Take a quill and parchment, for you will spend the remainder of the feast composing a sonnet about the importance of showing respect and being deferential to your superiors. When you are done, you will read your poem aloud for the professors." His lips stretched in a smile at the prospect. He began to turn away, then turned back, remembering something.

"Oh... and 5 points for offering an unsolicited opinion to a professor, overstepping your authority. Now take your housemate back to his seat and report to the dais at once. And learn to hold your tongue metaphorically or I shall teach you to do so... literally." He turned back to Less, wishing to focus on reacquainting himself with her.

Hayden nodded."Actually becuase Hogwarts has so much magic in it it meses with electronics so that they don't work. So unless it's a magical iPod then..."Hayden driffted off a bit. A magical cell phone would be awesome.

With Kyle in tow Cambri headed over to the Gryffindor table. She'd had quite enough of the Slytherin table by that point. Half of them were complaining, and the other half were bragging about their family. HONESTLY! Talk about something else. The only Slytherins that seemed to be decent human beings were too cliquie for their own good.

"From now on, we should just sit with your house." Cam informed Kyle matter-of-factly. She was fed up with her house already, and was considering avoiding her common room all together. Maybe she could schmoose one of the Gryffindor girls into giving her the password to the Gryffindor common room...or Kyle himself.

Her eyes shifted to the people around her now. A short ways away a Hufflepuff prefect seemed to be being reprimanded by a professor...the man that had walked off with Professor Lupa in fact. Cam looked away from that, assuming the boy wouldn't want people watching that particular moment. When she looked away from the prefect her blue eyes fell on the girl sitting across from herself, a girl that was pouting about something...

"What, I was not lieing!" said Allie defensivly. "You really did come over here to ask me if he hurt me, then you said something about he was in quiddtich, and I said I knew, and you asked me if I tried out, and then I asked you if you tried out! I would call that changng the subject to quidditch!"
She looked at Jake sorrily, she didn't mean to hit him that hard. It was supposed to be more of a gentle nudge. But she always had a problem with determining that kind of stuff.
"I'm sorry for hitting you, I didn't mean it for it to be that hard.." And why did she do it? She wasn't completly sure of that. She glared at Dom quickly, and then turned back to Jake. "And I will tell you later."
Forgetting about the whole apology thing, Allie started off into another one of her little arguments.
"Your badgers? Are you serious right now? For one thing I APOLOGIZED" Okay, so maybe she didn't forget completly. "about it, and for another well yeah we were talking about quidditch when you came over."

She gave the professor a smile. She would NEVER dare contradict him... though the little first year was sooo cute while he was waling... she would have given the boy a sweety if Papa Valon wasn't beside her. She then bit her lip, and said, "Shall we continue our walk?"

"Certainly, my dear. Pray tell me, how have you been? Where have you been hiding yourself, child? Spare no details, please." he smiled, holding onto her arm to steady himself as he walked with her, all the while his eyes surveyed the tables, making mental notes about various students and watching for any inappropriate conduct.

qWhat?! Jake nearly yelped as he heard the nasty evil man deduct more points and make Dominic go sit somewhere else. How unfair! Whilst Jake was tempted to make his view known, he held his tongue and watched, disheartened, as the Professor totally humiliated Dominic.

At least Dominic knew he wasn't totally superhuman. Jake wondered if Kayla had seen this.

"Gah!" Jake mumbled. Just when he was getting used to conferring with the prefect.

Turning back to Allie, he commented about what she'd said earlier.

"I never said..." Nooooo... don't argue. "Please don't argue because of me," he changed track, biting his lip again.

It was difficult to look away from the spectacle, but Daphne forced herself to. It was either pretend indifference or outright laugh at Dominic's plight. Daphne couldn't say she had hoped something potentially so embarrassing would happen and destroy Dom's reputation as Bad Boy Badger Prefect.

This came pretty close.

Sweeping her table with analytical eyes, she spotted a Slytherin girl arrive and shrugged. It wasn't uncommon for students from different houses to visit other tables--it was just odd that a Slytherin would be at the Gryffindor table. Amber eyes recognizing a freckly face in the near distance, Daphne waved a delicate hand in her direction. "Miss Jillian!" she called out, despite not willing to usually raise her voice. "Why are you sitting so far away?"

Terry scrunched his nose in distaste as he twirled his fork in his mashed potatoes for the umpteenth time that night, flattening it into an inedible mush. A tiny sigh escaped his lips, and knelt his head again an arm upright on the table, feeling his gaze drift abouts the table.

Sitting alone in a mass of students out of which he didn't even recognise one was a completely foreign feeling. His stomach turned at the idea of traipsing over to find Miles or Hugo over at the Slytherin table. Hugo was most likely to be joined-at-the-hips by none other than a certain brunette, and a scene was the last thing on his mind right now. The only one other person he'd be able to stand right now would be Vannie. But the likelihood of her being with Miles probably meant they BOTH were at the Slyther----ARHKH. He needed to stop. ...NOW.

His gaze returned to his untouched food, and he pushed his plate away with a groan, chewing on his bottom lip. His fingers rubbed his temples slightly, trying to soothe his frazzled nerves. This really was going to be one long night.

Jillian perked up as her ears caught the sound of an unmistakable familiar voice. She smiled and turned her head, her eyes meeting Daphne's. "Daphne! There you are!" She jumped up excitedly and quickly headed towards her friend, almost skipping in the process.

Jillian sat down beside Daphne, opened her mouth, and began talking. "I looked for you in the train but I couldn't find you! You'll never believe what I did this summer! My family went to Romania to visit Chuck and I made him practice not slouching with me but he made me promise that we have Quidditch training every day and I didn't mind that." A small croak from her pocket interrupter Jillian's blabbering. "Oh..."

The girl fished out her Tree Frog and smiled. "Silly little frog. Hey, Daph, I don't think I ever really properly thanked you for me frog. Som thanks!" she hugged her friend with one arm, keeping steady the other so as not to let the frog escape. "Me brother, Lucky, named him Eadric. Dunno why, but I kinda like it. Whaddaya think?" Jillian pulled back and actually took a good look at Daphne. "You look a little taller, Daph," she mused.

Cam began to wonder if the Gryffindors assumed she'd just sat down there on her own or something. She'd come over there with Kyle, who was a Gryffindor himself, but the two of them weren't really talking at that point. They didin't seem like they were there together. Even so, she felt less like a leaper with this other house than she did with her own. At least everyone at this table wasn't complaining, and comparing who had a better family. Urg.

Cam picked up another roll, and began to pick off pieces absently, then popped them into her mouth. Once she'd began to chew a piece of her roll she looked up, feeling a pare of eyes on her. Her gaze drifted to one of the most serious looking girls she'd ever met. Cam blinked once. Wow. Now there was a girl her mother would be proud of! There was a girl that would fit into her world. Cam shivered at the thought and looked away as the name "Miss Jillian" fell on her ears. Goodness! The girl even spoke all properly.

Cam uncrossed her legs, then recrossed them, and shifted slightly in her seat. She almost wanted to slouch down and put her elbows on the table. Do something to appear less proper. She almost feared that if she couldn't drop some of the mommy-training that she'd start coming off as that rigid. That's mean. The girl is probably very nice. At least she's not telling you how much better her daddy is than yours. Cam told herself, and popped another piece of bread into her mouth.

Kyle sat dwn next to Cam feeling eyes on him as he walked over. He didnt know any Gryfindors except for Zeke who was too popular for his own good. Kyle chuckled at the thought and reminded himself of the first time he had met Zeke.

Looking at Cam he laughed. "Nervous?" he asked cocking hs eyebrow and laughed. He could tell they wouldnt be over at the Slytherin table any time soon and that was ok with him. "So what were we talking about before you so rudely moved us?" he asked taking a bite of a chicken leg chewing as he waited for the answer.

Before Daphne could get a word in to declare how, contrary to popular belief, she was terribly happy to see her, Jillian was carrying off the conversation in her backpack. Diligently, the blond listened to her friend speak of her summer enthusiastically. Every once in a while, she granted the funny girl a nod or two of encouragement. "The train--I was a bit--" preoccupied with staying alive, thought Daphne even as Jillian went on. "Your welcome but--" paused Daphne to hold Jillian's shoulder with one hand. "Did you say your brother was named Lucky or Eadric?"

Eadric seemed more like a human name...Lucky was the kind of name you would give a crup. When her height was mentioned, Miss Hopton preened. "I might have grown a couple inches."

Agie's eyes glanced over to a boy who had just sat down and realised it was Kyle, from Diagon alley. Agie walked made her way over and sat down next to him. "Hiya Kyle!" She said with a sly smile. "So you're a fellow Gryffie!"

"So rudely moved us?" She inquired then laughed. Honestly. He made it sound like she'd done something terrible. There were the exact same foods over here as there were over at the Slytherin table...and Gryffindors were more tolerable anyway! She rolled her eyes at that but didn't comment. Fine. She was evil. So be it.

"I believe that I was telling you that you'd be more manly an wonderful if you sounded more southern...but that you were doing a good job of being macho." She announced, and popped another piece of roll into her mouth. Cam grinned brightly at him, as if she'd not said anything remotely mean, then flicked her curly brown hair out of her face. BLAH! Hair is such a bother. She thought irritably.

Jillian giggled. "No, no...me brother's name is Lucky...well, no, actually me brother's real name is Lucius. Mum used to call him Lucy for a nickname when he was little but I didn't want to be callin' me brother 'Lucy'! That sounds like a girl's name. So, I decided to call him Lucky and he likes it and so did the rest of me family, so now he's Lucky Lucius." she explained. "As for me frog, his name's Eadric. I dunno why Lucky named him that but I think it suits him. He's got character, this frog." Jillian said, nodding.

Jillian smiled at her friend. "Yep. You got taller, alright." Jillian then realized that she was blabbering too much...again. So much for practicing etiquette. "Okay, so 'nuff 'bout me...what about you?"
