Ugh, this guy really did know how to get on her nerves, didn't he?
"Well for one thing, I'm THIRTEEN not twelve." she said. She knew she was small, but she figured she kinda looked her age. And he thought he apoplgized? What planet was he on? "Ummmm no. You didn't."
Thats when he mentioned Astrid again. What was wrong with him, she knew she told him that she wasn't coming back. She could feel the tears start to form in her eyes. And then he has the nerve to walk away from her!
"Umm you know shes not coming, incase you don't remeber from Diagon Ally." she called after him. "And...well....fine! But I'm not letting this go!"
She quickly wiped away the couple tears that had escaped from her eyes, and sat down at the table again. She would just sit down, and pretend this didn't happen...for now.

"I'm a first year, if you hadn't figured that out. I am glad that you are called Nate. Do you like pancakes? One of my favourite Muggle book series is about a Muggle boy named Nate the Great. He solves mysteries with his dog Sludge, who also likes pancakes. My parents made a special trip to the Muggle bookstore in London to get them for me. Do you like books?

I like Hogwarts alright, but it is distracting with so many people to pay attention to. I like it better when I can talk to people in small groups. It is a lot easier to read their lips."

Sylvan paused and licked his lips nervously before continuing.

"I guess I should probably tell you that I am deaf. I didn't mean to be rude earlier, but I didn't hear you talk to me. My house-elf Babsey usually is with me to help interpret, but my mom is having a baby, so needed Babsey at home. Don't tell anyone right now, okay? I'd like to seem as normal as possible before people start staring at me weirdly."

When he had finished writing his note, Sylvan folded it over and passed it back to Nate.

After he had replied to Nate's note, Sylvan turned back to his dinner while he waited for a response. All of a sudden, a ghost slid into view above the table. Sylvan was speechless. He had never seen a ghost before. His mouth dropped open in shock, and he wordlessly turned to Nate and pounded him hard on the arm to get his attention. He pointed up at the ghost in amazement.

Lyra sat in amazement as she watched the chaos at the staff table unfold and then..."Ghost?" Her eyes looked around watching as she had only heard stories of the ghost of Hogwarts but had never been around to ever see them. This...was...AWESOME!

Nathaniel had seen Nick pop up. He liked Nick but hoped that Nick never drifted through him. He read the boys note with a smile. I like books. A lot. I read as often as I can. Are you pure-blood? I'm half and half.. and I'm related to Harry Potter.. you know who he is right?. Just as Nate finished that he felt the boy pounding on his arm.He patted the boys shoulder and wrote "That's Nearly Headless Nick. He's the ghost of Gryffindor. There are others. They won't harm you. And of course I won't tell anyone.
He passed the parchment back to the boy and waved to Nearly Headless Nick.

By this time Nathaniels hat was off due to eating at the table and his normally black shaggy hair was now shorter and blonde. He took a bite of pumpkin pie and remembered one of the reasons he missed Hogwarts

"Nice to mee you, Sofia," Anna replied. Anna followed Sofia's gaze to the ghost still floating above their table. It seemed sort of odd to see such a being at the house table. He seemed pretty friendly, though. Anna turned back to Sofia. "Sort of strange, isn't it? He seems really friendly and enthusiastic about Gryffindor, too," she said.

"Hey, Troublemaker," Anna said, having just noticed Lyra sitting at the table once again. They'd both been up at the staff table at some point, and Anna hadn't realized Lyra had come back, as well. "Can you believe what went on up there?" she asked, nodding her head in the direction of the staff table. "I nearly got into trouble three times, too. First I lost points, then I gained points, and...ugh." This was turning out to one crazy term so far. No telling what was in store in the days and weeks to come.

"Ah, gotcha. Why aren't you at the Slytherin table?" Zeke asked. "Not that I want you to leave or anything. Pure curiosity," he said with a smile.

"I like Boys Like Girls," Zeke said with a nod. "That sounds confusing. 'I like Boys Like Girls,'" he quoted himself. Too many "likes" in that sentence. He grinned goofily. "You betcha, you will," he said with a smile. He was joking... but she would tell him. He so would not forget.

"Hello, Anna," Zeke said with a smile. "I'm Zeke. Nice to meet you."

Sylvan looked curiously over at his new friend. "I thought all the ghosts had vanished after the battle of Hogwarts? Were they here last year too, Nate? I have always wanted to see a ghost!
PS. Does your hair randomly change colour? Are you a metamorphmagus?"

"Fat chance of that," Hannah said with a laugh. "He always figures out SOME way to bug me, even indirectly. You know, hiring someone or something," she giggled. She could totally picture her brother doing just that. "That's true, it seems like all his 'friends' are actually 'wannabe girlfriends' or something like that. He just better pick a good one. I have to like her or else no deal," Hannah said jokingly.

I didn't venture out too much last year. I was sick a lot.". Well the boy must be from a a magical family to know about Metamorphmagi. Why, yes,I am a Metamorphmagus. Have you ever met one? I just found out that I was one last year. It was very confusing for me. Did you bring any animals with you? I brought cat named Vincent." while sliding the parchment over to Sylvan Nathaniel took some chicken, wrapped it in a napkin and shoved it into one of the pockets for the cat and his pygmy puffs.

Jake spied Allie at one of the two tables he hadn't been to yet; the Gryffindor table. He ran over to her, making sure she was alright.

"Are you ok?" he asked. "What did Dominic do to you?" Jake asked, glaring at the retreating back. "I got put in his house you know?" Jake raised one eyebrow.

Hold on...

He did not just reveal the guy's name! Jake literally facepalmed. Oii.

Via spotted Hufflepuffs at the table. What are they doing here? she thought. She heard the young hufflepuff say something to Allie, Did someone just hurt her? She tried to move over to them, "Allie," Via said, "Sorry, can't help myself from eavesdropping. What happened?"

She had noticed some familiar faces who were busy chatting with everyone else.

"What..Jake, I'm fine, really." she said, laughing a little bit at Jakes proectiveness. "He-" Wait a minute...di he just say Dominic? Just hten it all cliqued together. The Dominic guy Jake had talked about pulling the pranks on was a prefect, and he was a prefect. They were both in Hufflepuff...and he ciertainly was as arogant as Jak made him out to be.
"You mean he is Domininc? Yoru kidding?"
Allie looked over to Via. "Oh hey Via!" she said. "Nothing really..that guy Dominic just tripped and wouldn't apoplogize..I'm fine really."
Well so much for pretending it didn't happen

Orinoco nervously made her way down the long table, compared to everyone she was rather fragile.. and tiny. Keeping her eyes to herself she waddled to an empty seat and slid into it with a nervous sigh.

Perhaps if all went well, she can meet Melly again, she said she was in Ravenclaw, so that was the... blue and copper table? Hmm.

"That sucks. I hate being sick. So what happens with the metamorphoses? Did your parents not notice while you were growing up? Did your Muggle parent know that their partner was magical? My parents are Purebloods, but they aren't stuck up, so we actually went to the Muggle parts of London fairly frequently. That's where I went to go to deaf school.

I didn't bring any animals. My dog is at home with my parents. She's a border collie and I love her lots. I'm sad I couldn't bring her to school. Her name is Maxine, but I just call her Max. Can I meet your cat later? My mom is allergic, so we couldn't have one."

Via noticed a girl silently made her way to an empty seat. "Hello," she said greeting the girl. probably she was on the same year as her. "I'm Vivianne."

Father doesn't really talk about magical stuff.Father would rather just be 'normal' I think. His parents do. I love my grandparents. They are always doing magic.Mum knew. It doesn't bother her. We don't really talk. Only reason I go home is because we live right on the beach... Well Mum and the twins don't anymore. My parent split up last year.

We have 2 dogs at my fathers house. A pitbull/american mix named Ninja. He's one of my best friends. I love him to pieces. And then we have a weimaraner named Mary Jane. She's a good dog as well. Of course you can meet Vincent later. He loves new people. So... where do you live?. Nathaniel had barley spoken to his mother since last year. It was usually just him and his father doing whatever.

Agie ran into the hall, with a huge grin on her face. She was back, finally! At Hogwarts, her home. Agie was late because she had already visited her common room, getting the best bed, naturally. But now she was at the feast.

She ran right up to the Gryffie table and jumped on top on is, right in front of a tiny girl. She didn't noticed anyone really, but instead kissed the Gryffie table. She had done this on one other occasion. And this time seemed just as fitting.

"Hi" Orinoco nervously smiled at the girl, oh how nervous she was. She was meeting people from her house, people she would live with for the next few years. Scary. What if she mussed up her first impression?

"I'm Orinoco" she added just as nervously. "I'm new here, are you new too-?"

Orinico's eyes rounded in horror at the site of this girl pouncing the table in front of her.. and ... and ... and.. did she just kiss the table? Oh My! She flinched and closed her eyes really tightly praying the girl wouldn't hurt her.

"Erm... OK..." Jake said uncertainly... I'll get him later...

"Yeah," Jake admitted weakly. "Dominic Denton... Hufflepuff Prefect... AND I found out he plays Quidditch," Jake groaned... he would not be able to avoid the boy if he wanted to. "Nope... not kidding..." Jake began to inch backwards.

Ruh-roh... someone obviously didn't believe Jake should be here, and he drew back, closer to Allie, as this girl... Via?... came over acting as protective as Jake had been.

Agie slowly got up from kissing the table and saw a little girl with closed eyes? She raised her eyebrow and moved a little closer, still sitting on the middle of the table. "Don't worry, I don't bite...much!" She said with a cheeky grin.

"Alright. So you can add your name next to mine at the end of the term," she said, smirking and holding up her quill once again. She shoved the quill back into her pocket and then turned to admire her handiwork. It was a thousand wonders she hadn't already gotten into trouble for it. If someone happened to see it later on, she could always do what she usually did in situations such as this one---blame Dominic Denton. Anna looked back at Cale and sighed softly. No matter how many times he feed her the "Let's not think about that right now" line, she still got a little upset when she thought about him leaving school in one more year.

Anna watched as the extremely quiet boy she'd met earlier passed notes back and forth with another Gryffindor. She decided that now was just as good of a time as ever to point blank ask the boy what was going on. Anna scooted closer down the table, so that she was near the boy. "Excuse me? Is something wrong?" she asked. She hoped she didn't sound rude, but she couldn't help but feel like something was a bit different about this boy. Just in case she came across rudely, Anna smiled warmly to show that she really meant well.

"Same to you," Anna replied. "I hear you're related to Hannah. Siblings? Cousins? I haven't heard for sure yet." Anna knew Hannah was a really nice girl, so if Zeke was related to her, Anna imagined him to be a pretty cool kid, as well. He also seemed to be getting along well with the other Gryffindors, so hopefully he'd prove to be an asset to the house.

As Anna spoke with Zeke, she looked over to see a small, fragile-looking girl approach the table. Anna had never met her before, so the girl must either be a first year or a young transfer. Either way, the girl appeared to be a bit afraid or shy, so Anna turned to her with a warm smile. "Hey there," she greeted. "I'm Anna Greingoth, the female house prefect. What's your name?"

Just before Via could answer, a girl came came running towards the table and kissed it. That was kinda surprising, she thought. Is she alright? Remembering the question the girl had asked her, "Oh! No, i've been here for the past two years," she said smiling at the girl. Although she was still thinking about the girl who had kissed the table. She peered to look at her.

Allie smiled at this new found information. Dominic Denton....well from what she had gathered on the train, something was coming to him. Not sure what exactly, but something. But he was a prefect, and even though she hate to admit it, he did have some power. She hoped that Jake and Cam would take her warning a little seriously.
"Ohh I know that..I think we played against him last year....no that was Ravenclaw..oh I cant remember, but yeah I knew."

Was she talking to her? No no, she pealed one eye open, just enough to see then whimpered and closed it tightly. She doesn't bite as much! She's a cannibal! Just like those tribes she once met, oh the horror. Stay still, and she'll move away? "I don't taste good, i've been told so. Honestly"

Agie flew back on the table, knocking over many things and laughed. This girl was amusing. Slowly she raised back to a sitting position, still eyeing the girl. and tried to compose herself. "Well, how will I know that you taste bad, if I haven't had a taste myself?" She asked, trying not to snicker.

Agie's eyes now flickered to another girl who was looking in her direction, she smirked and looked back to the scared one.
