Freya looked to Vindictus, "All I remember is a bunch of students huddled over by that corner..." She nodded her head towards the dark area of the room. Freya had to stop herself from rolling her eyes, "Kept on saying how they felt they were being watched, how creepy it was. I think they said they saw a rat." 'Didn't stop them all from gangling around though did it? Nope!' "Personally I did not see anything, all I heard was a scream and then I came over to see what was going on and...well, that's all pretty much." 'Right. March back so that we are picked off easier.' Freya had no intention of leaving just yet.

Kazimeriz turned to the jock professor, incensed. He spoke in a deadly tone through gritted teeth, glaring right at Vindictus. "Five hundred THOUSAND points from Ravenclaw, Vindictus. Now do as I tell you for as you remind us all, I and the Headmaster are the ones with experience in these sort of matters, and right now safety of the students that are still living is our top priority. If you disagree you may take it up with Headmaster Bontecou. For now, you will do your job here." He lifted his eyes to include Bunbury. "Both of you. Now return that body, summon the Healer and get these students in a safe, centralized location or I swear to Merlin you will regret it."

Listening to Prof. Vindictus, Kaika looked around and then back at him, "Well, I was just coming to the library and found this...I really didn't see or hear anything at all" but this was just plain strange, especially the way he was acting.

Uh-Oh. Yes. She won't be going anywhere near this place, or, more precisely, she wouldn't leave Prof. Kazimeriz side, not after he'd taken those points off...but he wouldn't really take those point off, right?

Kaika stood still, her Potions handbook still on her hands, because she wouldn't even dare to open her bag, she was far too busy listening to her surroundings.

Anastasia was not having any of this. She stopped in her barefoot tracks just to stare incredulously at Krazimeriz and his pointed wand. He was officially a cranky, smelly, insane old man who thought he knew it all. And he should have cast a spell instead of threatening her when he had the chance.

"Oh puhhleeeez. Bite me." she stated loudly, rolling her eyes for effect. "You're acting like Voldemortist himself is here - absolute poppycock! HA!" She laughed fakely for exactly two seconds and then her face was stone blank again.

"I'm leaving whether you like it or not - this boy's family needs to be informed and the library is no place for mourning or ridiculous 'investigations' to take place. You don't need a corpse for that and the longer we deliberate the colder he becomes."

She stuck her nose up in the air and marched on out, calling back, "Jake, Lima, dears, you really should see the nurse too....anyone touched by trauma...such a sad thing..." her voice trailed off as she rounded the corner, secretly hoping that more students would follow her lead and sneak away from Papa Bonkers.

Kazimeriz watched her go and shook his head. She would regret that decision. He turned to Vindictus, waiting for his response, a steely look in his eyes. There was no chance of saving the boy, and Bunbury's actions may in fact be magically contaminating the halls.... but they could still keep the students at the ilbrary secure-- safe-- if Vindictus used his head and cooperated.

"HA HA HA!" Vindictus laughed manically and pointed a finger at Kazimeriz. "You. Can't. Do. That." And he stuck out his tongue at his colleague and former professor. "No one saw anything and all they heard was a scream. Think about that!" He rubbed his temples and then the bridge of his nose. Finally, Vindictus cleared his throat. "There is a possibility that the student suffered from an undiagnosed medical condition that caused his demise quite suddenly. We need to remove the body to the hospital wing where a proper examination can occur. As for evidence, I'm sure your expert eye would have noticed that the so-called crime scene was contaminated before any of us arrived."

He cleared his throat again. "The prefects can escort the students back to their common rooms. They are seventh years and should know at least a few defensive strategies for protection."

Fools. These colleagues were ignorant as to the very real danger they may be placing the students in. "I am disappointed in these irresponsible and regrettable choices, jeopardizing the safety of your students through your assumptions. Any students who do not feel confident in the ability of seventh year students to defend them in the event that this is something more than a mere accident are welcome to accompany me and I will personally escort you to your common rooms. I urge you not wander alone throughout the castle until this matter is resolved. While it may be a matter of natural causes or an isolated incident... vigilance is the tool of the wise wizard or witch." he looked at Vindictus, shaking his head. "This is not the last conversation you and I will have about this, but this is neither the time nor place. " he lazily flicked his wand to smack Max on the back of the head magically. "Come, students... any of you who wish an escort may join me. Those who stay with professor Vindictus--' he sneered-- "do so at their own peril." He summoned his cane and used it with his left hand, keeping his wand at the ready as he headed to the door. Any wise students would join him.

"Owww. You hit me!" Vindictus exclaimed and rubbed his head. "You didn't have to do that. I'm gonna tell the headmaster on you . . . you Krazimeanie!"

Kazimeriz turned, smirking. "See that you do. You have changed very little from the student in short pants you once were, Vindictus. Still whiny, petulant and irresponsible, unable to see the big picture. I confess I am disappointed... I expected more from you." He turned back away from Vindictus, still heading toward the door.

Cadence watched as that horrible professor took away Set's body. She had no idea of anything else going on around her. Just that the professor had taken Set away.

She began gasping for air that seemed impossible to come by. Her lungs wouldn't inflate. She was shaking uncontrollably, tears still streaming down her face. S-set. she said a final time, almost a whisper.

P-Professor Kazimeriz, d-do something. B-bring him back. P-please just b-bring him back. and that was all she could manage to say. She was suffocating. Shaking. Let it end.

Jake rubbed at his eyes with balled up fists as his breath hitched again. Talking was out of the question as he tugged Lima to come with him, not intending to let go of her hand.

How far was the hospital wing again? Would that... body be there? Jake let out a small sob as he thought about it. He'd seen through the bookshelves Set just slumping on the ground, but nothing else. No wand beams... Just...

Probably was poison... and JAKE HAD TOUCHED HIM!!!!!

Suddenly, Jake NEEDED to get to the Hospital Wing, double time.

"Luh-luh-luh-lima... cuh-c'mon," he sobbed, leaving through the door to head for the hospital wing.

Kazimeriz turned, hearing the very upset child speak his name. "There is nothing we can do for him at this time... but come with me, child. Let us see you safely to a place where you can mourn in peace." He eyed the other students to see if any others were going to choose wisely and come with him.

"...gonna tell the headmaster on you..."? Why was Prof. Vindictus being such a kid on this new Professor? Honestly, there was something Kaika didn't like, but she wasn't probably the only one between the few students here.

Whichever path she chose was going to end in something either way, soooo...why not choose the one everyone is calling crazy instead? He might be old, but he must know things...

Deciding on Prof. Kazimeriz, which was weird, she never thought she'll be choosing someone other than Prof. Vindictus, Kaika followed the man with the cane, with her Potions handbook in her hands, but there was a new addition, her wand.

Cadence couldn't move, she stayed kneeling there where Set's body had been. She just stared at the professor, gasping for breath, heart pounding, body trembling as she cried and cried, but she couldn't move. Couldn't stand. Definitely couldn't walk.

"But you hit me!" Vindictus whined and looked at the other students. "Hey, its safe. You can trust me. If there was some crazy killer in the library or the school, we'd all be goners by now. So, yeah. It's safe. You have my word." He looked at the others who were probably staring at him by now and he shoved his hands in his robe pockets. It was gone! "Oh, man! Some punk took my chocolate. Argh! Probably a Slytherin, too." With one crazed look, he took off and ran out of the library.

Ana looked to Prof. Kazimeriz and then to Cadence "Cadence we should go with Professor Kazimeriz"she started "you need to rest." she said. She held her even more.

Kazimeriz nodded once in approval, noting the student had drawn her wand. "Excellent. Whether you come with me or not, I advise you all to follow Miss Lockhart's lead and draw your wands. Be on guard... we do not have any answers yet, and personal security and awareness are paramount until we do."

"I said come with me, child." He let go of his cane, which was charmed to stand aloft without his help, and held his wrinkled hand out to the girl.

Kazimeriz sighed. There was definitely something wrong with Vindictus... his behaviour, and that of Bunbury, were not the actions of the responsible professors that he would expect to be employed here. Something was definitely wrong here... but of course that would have to wait. Right now, there were students in potential jeopardy. "If any other students are accompanying me, now is the time. I wish to see you all to safety. If you choose to go alone, at least be wise and travel in pairs, wands out, on guard." He headed toward the door-- he needed to get the students to safety, then find the Headmaster-- who would possibly arrive at the library in time to find no one, no information. That would not do.

Cadence blinked at the professor and then placed her trembling hand in his. She got to her feet very unsteadily and felt like her legs were going to give out at any moment. This professor understood. He wanted to help her, and she trusted him. P-professor, c-can I g-go see him? J-just one m-more time?

A smile was on her face. Of course, why not have one's wand ready? No one knew what had happened and the mystery was not going to be solved any time soon if Prof. Vindictus kept acting like a child...like...well, she always wondered how he was when he was younger, maybe this was her answer?

But, yes, she was glad she made the nice choice of following Prof. Kazimeriz, especially after witnessing the latest of Vindictus' actions. Seriously?

Kaika felt sorry for the girl, Cadence, she was just devastated, and there was really nothing they could do about Set right now. But all they could do was to follow Prof. Kazimeriz.

"We shall see what happens, child. First, we must see you and your peers to safety. Come with me now." Professor Kazimeriz said calmly. He knew the pain of her loss well enough, from personal experience. For the moment, he needed to get her to refocus her energy away from that and onto her own well being.

"Very good. Let us go." Kazimeriz said, walking out the library door.

ooc: work tomorrow, so I'm off to bed- if you're a student going with Kazi, please feel free to RP joining him in leaving the library and we'll presume he escorted y'all to the entrances of your common rooms, mmkay?

And she was right beside Kazimeriz, because, well, she decided to follow. She would've made it safely to the Common Room if she didn't but...

Yet, she decided to place her handbook in her bag, so her she'll carry her wand better with her right hand, and that will leave the left one free, in case it was needed. Which was probably not going to be needed, but it never hurt to be ready. Like on Quidditch, it never hurt to look out for bludgers.

Kaika walked out of the library with the ones who also decided to follow Kazimeriz.

Cadence held tightly to the Professor's hand and allowed herself to be lead from the library. She didn't want to go to the Common Room. Too many people. Too many memories. She just wanted to run, run away from Hogwarts and not look back, just keep running until she couldn't run any longer and she just passed out.

But she didn't. She followed along with the professor, lost and scared, wanting nothing more than to feel Set's arms around her again.

Cale walked up to the front desk and looked around. Ok, sobbing Huffie girl was still here, but all the professors had left, it seemed, and taken the boy with them.

"I guess they removed him," Cale said, turning to face the librarian who had been following him. "Perhaps they're up in the hospital wing?"

As the group neared the desk, Madame Kohan clasped her hands together, suddenly quite anxious about what they would find. She heard no voices, and once they came into view of the desk, she could see that no one was present, except for her and the two prefects. She was thankful that they had removed the body - she wasn't certain how she would take such a sight.

"Perhaps." She agreed softly as her eyes scanned the area around them. Nothing seemed very amiss, and she could see nothing obvious that would have led to this tragedy. It seemed as though perhaps the student had been struck down by a magical force.

There was nothing more to be done, it seemed, at least not here. When she returned, however, she would investigate further.

"I think you both should return to your common rooms," She went on. "until the Headmaster gives further instructions - with myself as an escort, of course." Student or adult, someone had done this, and she was in no way going to risk further deaths by letting students venture out alone.

"Ummm, all right," Cale said when she told them she would escort them back--he honestly didn't know if that was really necessary... after all, Vindictus and Bunbury seemed pretty convinced that the castle was fine, even if Kazimeriz kept insisting that they take procautions.
