Cale, sporting a nice cut cheek to go with the knot-looking bruise on his forehead wandered up to the library. He had missed the musty old place over the summer, although if he was honest with himself he had missed the librarian more then books or the drafty old place itself. He had no real purpose for visiting the library then he had a free period and he felt like flirting inquiring about Madam Librarian's summer.

As expected, there was a small line of students waiting to check out books. Cale took his place at the end and leaned against the counter a bit as he waited.

Madam Kohan was flittering around behind the desk looking as lovely as ever, even more so if Cale could be unbiased. She had looked like she had gotten some sun. Perhaps she had visited a beach?

A slight sigh escaped him as he wandered off into a day dream...a day dream that consisted of him and Madam Librarian taking a walk on that beach...

Set walked up to the shelf and looked for only a minute until he found the book. He was in such a rush. He walked up to the front desk and asked, "Can i please check this out. I don't have time to read it now."

Livvy walked towards the front desk and smiled at Madam Kohan. "Afternoon Madam Kohan," she said. "I was wondering if there were any books about Wendelin the Weird. I have to look her up for History of Magic homework," Livvy said, with a large grin. She had learned some stuff from Copernicus. Apparently she liked getting burned?

"You're quite welcome." She replied to both of the students who had expressed thanks to her for helping them. "Hope to see you soon!"

"Couldn't find out about Merlin?" Madame Kohan asked, noticing the disappointed look on Rian's face. "They were probably pulling your leg, dear. He more than likely had all ten toes."

Sliding the book towards her, she opened the back cover, wrote hastily in the back and then closed it, setting her quill into the holder next to her. "Here you are. Back in two weeks." She reminded.

"Certainly you may!" She reached for the books that the girls held, setting them carefully in a row before picking up her golden quill again, which had been bewitched to specially mark each book to show when it had been checked out. If the books weren't returned in a timely manner, the book would give off a tiny alarm which only grew louder until the book was returned.

Signing the back of each book, she closed them in rapid succession before handing them to their respective borrowers. "There you are! Back within two weeks, please."

It was obvious that the young Hufflepuff was quite excited to read the book, and so, Madame Kohan did all that she could to help him in such a task. Quickly signing off the book, she closed it and handed it back to him. "Back in 2 weeks." She requested.

"Hello, dear." She greeted, quite pleased that so many students were happening by the library. It seemed that the numbers grew with each passing term. "Oh, of course. She would be found in Eccentric Wizards and Witches which would be in the middle set of bookshelves on this floor." She answered with a chuckle. "Trying to figure out why she enjoyed being burned at the stake so many times?"

Soon the line dwindled until only one person remained. "Why, hello there." She greeted with a warm smile, which faded rather quickly as she noticed his appearance. "My goodness. What happened to you Mr. Thornton? It looks as though your summer was quite the rough one." She couldn't help, however, to wonder why he had not visited someone to take care of that...

Amelia smiled at the Madame Kohan and took her book. "Thank you!" she said as Amanda grabbed her and dragged her away.

Rian shook her head, then smiled again. Copernicus probably was just pulling her leg. "Boys," she muttered good-naturedly. She smiled as she thought about the conversation she'd had about Merlin's feet.

Back in two weeks! Rian sang to herself. Like she didn't already know that. But she just continued to smile as she picked up the book again. "Thank you, Ma'am!" she chiped, taking a step back. "See ya around!" she called as she turned to leave.

Livvy smiled and nodded her head. She had better get working on it. That homework was due soon. "Thank you Madame Kohan. I'll go check there," she said, smiling. Livvy laughed slightly at what the woman said. "That is definitely something that I will look into. I don't quite see what's there to enjoy in getting burned about forty-seven times," she said, thoughtfully.

Chris Potter walked into the familiar library and to the memories of last terms finals flew into his head. He walked up to the front desk and to the Librarian with a book he had brought with him from his dormitory. "Good Afternoon, Madame Kohan. I was just wondering if i could donate this book to the library. My father Wilkinson Potter, The historian, wrote it." He placed the newly published book ontot the desk in front of her. The dark brown leather binding flashed in the light of her desk lamp. The gold lettering on the front read: Ancient Chinese Wizards, and the Chinese Fire-Balls

With a quick wave to the departing students, Madame Kohan turned back to Rian. She caught the quickly mumbled 'boys' and couldn't help but smile, amused. Of course. "You're quite welcome. And yes, certainly come by again soon. I'll have to show you a new addition to my office."

She chuckled again. "I'm not certain either, but I suppose you can find out what her motive was from the information in that book. A bit of information and some creativity certainly go quite a way." She remarked.

"Good afternoon, young man." Greeted the librarian. At the Gryffindor's request, Madame Kohan glanced at the book, taking in the title with practiced eyes. Well, this was new. No one had asked her if they could donate a book to the library...

""Well, Mr. Potter. I do appreciate the gesture. I shall skim through it myself, and if appropriate, then I shall outfit it with the necessary charms and such and place it onto the bookshelves. I shall let you know my final decision." She promised as she carefully lay the book under the shelf that held other important documents.

"Hi Madam Librarian," Cale chirped up happy to see the line dissipate, leaving him alone (albeit briefly) with the woman of his dreams. He waved off her concerns. "Posh, I'm fine. Just having a bit of trouble with one of my plants. It's a bit temperamental." He leaned in a little trying to keep the blush off his face/ears. "How was your holiday? You look rested."

Livvy laughed and nodded her head. "That's quite true. Thanks again Madam Kohan. I'll be sure to tell you the motive if I ever get down to the bottom of it," she said, grinning and headed off towards the Eccentric Wizards and Witches section.

Rian quickly turned around when the librarian spoke to her again. She beamed, happy that Madame Kohan said she would like to show her her office. "Can I visit you sometime, then?" she asked happily. She was pretty sure the answer would be yes, from what Madame Kohan said, but she wanted to ask just in case.

Chris smiled at the librarian. "Your very welcome Madame." he smiled

Madame Kohan studied Cale for a few moments, still unsure about the obvious injuries, even when he did explain them. "Really? And what sort of plant do you have that has that sort of temperament?" She inquired while setting a stack of parchment behind the desk and adjusting her seat.

"My holiday was just fine. I did a bit of reading and managed to study a book that I purchased at Flourish & Blotts."

Waving goodbye to the Ravenclaw, Madame Kohan smiled again. That was actually quite the interesting topic. Perhaps she should do some research on it herself. It would be fascinating reading material, especially since it would no doubt present the challenge of understanding the psyche of the woman.

"Oh, of course, dear. Anytime that you would like. I do enjoy having visitors." She replied, noticing the rather pleased expression on Rian's face. "I think you'll be pleasantly surprised."

Returning the smile, she then asked. "Do you need help with anything else? Or would that be all?"

Jenn smiled happily. "Now that you mention it, I am in a very good mood! Thanks for noticing Madame Kohan!"she said, chuckling. Jenn blushed. "Um, really? Oh. Well, maybe I might be corious. Why do you ask?"Jenn wondered, wondering how Madame Kohan could of know why she wanted the book on Merlin.

"I'll make sure to stop by then," Rian said joyfully. Much sooner than you expect, I'm sure, she added to herself. She waved goodbye (again) and took a few backward steps. "See ya around, Madame Kohan!" she called (quietly, of course. This is a library!) and turned to leave, for real this time.

"It's just a sapling," he said trying to brush off her question again. She didn't seem happy with that answer. "Some of the limbs tend to thrash around and some of the pods explode."

He stood up a bit more upon hearing what her summer was like. "You spent the entire holiday reading a book?" he asked. "Were you at least sitting on a beach while reading it?"

"Cale!" Valentine's blond head looked over a shelf among seeing her fellow housemate and friend. She hadn't seen him at all at Hogwarts yet this term. She pulled back her blond and blue hair as she walked up to the boy.

"Is this where you have been off?" She asked him as she held a couple of books in her hand. "It seems as though I haven't seen you in ages."

Cale wince a little as he heard Valey yell out his name. He turned and shh'ed her. Honestly, did't she realize they were in a library? The last thing he wanted was for Madam Librarian to kick them both out. "What'd you do to your hair?" Again. he thought, but left it to himself.

"I've been in the greenhouses and the common room. Working on work and with my plants." He motioned to Madam Librarian. "Madame Librarian, Do you know Valentine Ammadon?"

"I haven't done a thing to my hair since you last saw me." Valentine raised an eyebrow at Cale, wieghing the possibility that he had gone daffy being surrounded by plants all the time in her mind. But then she smiled and put that thought to pass. "I am taking books out." She nodded her head towards the small pile of books in her hands. "On spells and potions to change my hair back to what it was. I guess blond just isn't me. It is taking too many people by surprise."

The british-cuban girl looked at the librarian and smiled a friendly smile at her. "Good day Ma'am." She said

Madame Kohan nodded slowly as Cale further explained what had happened. "It sounds very temperamental." She observed. "Perhaps you should speak with Professor Bunbury in regard to tips to calm such a plant. It may prevent you from getting beaten up again."

With a laugh, she shook her head. "Not entirely...and a beach? Well, that would have been nice, but no, I didn't. I may have to do that next time. But, as I am the librarian, reading is something I never tire of." She finished with a smile.

Raising a brow at the girl as she suddenly shouted out Cale's name, Madame Kohan shifted her weight on the seat and folded her hands.

"I don't believe so..." She began, her tone slightly disapproving due to the Ravenclaw's loud voice.

Despite the earlier overlook of the rules, Angela did return the girl's smile before she spoke again. "Good day to you as well, Miss Ammadon. I hope you're doing well."

Set walked up to the front desk. "Here, I'm returning this book! and good news! I'm related to Polarius Hufflepuff! I'm so excited!" Set said. He handed her the book. "Thanks, bye"

Barry walked into the library and walked up to the desk and said "Its nice to meet you Madam. So I was wondering I`ve seen a few books have been misplaced, do you want some help around the library? And if not uh do you have any books on ghosts or Polgeriest?"

Madame Kohan accepted the book from the excited Hufflepuff, and set it behind the counter after signing it back in. "Really? Well, that is rather exciting news. I'm glad that you were able to trace your ancestry back that far."

Ah, were all the new students so eager? "Goodbye, young man."

"A few books misplaced?" She repeated with a raised brow. What were those students doing? Maybe she would have to start making rounds again to ensure that the books were returned to their proper place after being used. "Thank you for the offer, dear, but I'll tend to them myself a bit later."

At the mention of ghosts and poltergeists, the librarian hid a smile. She had wondered why no one else had asked about such books.

"We do. Check for a book titled 'What Happens when We Die?' and 'Spirits and More' Both should be located upstairs."

Anna strolled up to the front desk, empty-handed and showing no sign of being here to do research of any sort. Nevertheless, she stood at the desk waiting for Madame Kohan to finish assisting all the students with whatever it was they currently needed. As she waited, Anna glanced around the library, spotting Copernicus Kettleburn looking as if he was actually here for research. Maybe Anna should be doing a bit of that, as well. Ahhh, well, there was always later. Right now, she wanted to wait for Madame Kohan to finish what she was doing and finally have a bit of time to come over for a little chat.
