ZOMG! This was too awesome! And they were actually going to be allowed to fly around the grounds! Oh yeah! Races were WICKED! Mounting his broom, Clifford made a speedy kick off the ground and headed off for a fast lap around the pitch. WHEEEE!!!!

Tobi shrugged, epic fail on the hoops, but he was gonna make it up in the race. He commenced his lap around the Stadium. Completing it quickly and with little trouble. Good old Silver Arrow. That done, he was out of there and headed for the lake.

Flailing about, Anna hurried and mounted her broom once again. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my goshhh! Races made her waaay nervous. So nervous she sometimes lost the ability to think. Okay, sooo, she had a job to do---several jobs to do, actually, so she better get a move on! Pushing off the ground in a near panic, Anna zoomed foward and flew once---as quickly as she could---around the pitch. She was aware that there were many, many more people flying around and around her, but she was too focused to look away and see who they were. Besides, this was a race, which meant there was no time to get distracted by other people or objects. When Anna had flown once around the entire pitch, she exited the stadium and headed towards the lake.

This would be the final exam that would finally do her in. Sheesh. Professor Vinductus really had them hard at work this time!

Rian's eyes widened in horror as she thought about the instructions. Oh yes, she was surely not going to walk out of this class the same as she came in. Already she had bruises...she was going to have scrapes and scratches too, no doubt.

But despite that, Rian nodded to herself and kicked off from the ground. She paid attention only to keeping her hands on the broom and not running into anything as she flew around the pitch.

Robert grinned widely as he heard what the next task was. Glancing around he flung his leg over his newly repaired broom and waited as Vindictus gave the instructions. hearing the load whistle he pushed off the ground and zoomed up flying around the pitch once before angling his broom up and heading off toward the lake. He had never felt so happy.

What what?
Oh god I'm going to die!

Launching off as fast as she could,Sarah did one lap of the pitch and headed out towards the lake.Quietly wetting herself as she went...

Qaz quickly mounted her broom and kicked off. She zoomed up and started to circled the pitch. It felt glorious! But she wasn’t up here to have fun. She finished her lap and then headed toward the lake.

A race? Awesome. Vanessa quickly mounted her broom again, and kicked off, zooming into the air, and doing the lap of the pitch, willing the broom to go as fast as it could. After the lap, she zoomed over to the lake.

TASK 2: Broom Race
1. After taking off, you'll fly ONCE around the PITCH and then exit the stadium.
2. You will then fly over THE LAKE, but you must fly 10 feet above the water and try to avoid touching the water.
3. After the Lake, you'll fly over the PATHWAYS to the BAMBOO FOREST.
4. Try not to scare the poor little pandas in the BAMBOO FOREST as you fly over the tops of the bamboo trees.
5. After the Bamboo Forest, you'll need to fly to the FRONT GATE and make a sharp U-turn.
6. Fly due east to the WHOMPING WILLOW. Make it past the tree and then back over THE LAKE.
7. Fly five feet above the water and see if you can wake Bartholomew, the Giant Squid. As you approach the swimming rock, shoot up into the sky so that you don't hit it - this will jettison you towards your final destiation.
8. Fly back into the STADIUM and land in the RED RECTANGLE. Refreshments
will be available (lemonade and gingersnaps).

He looked at the students and smiled. "Ready? Begin!" He blew his whistle without any countdown and warning.

OOC: You must RP in all of these locations. Yes, it's okay to RP more than once at each spot, especially if your character is interacting with another.

Lyra was mad that she missed the flashing PINK hoops. As soon as she heard it was a race and she heard the whistle, she pushed off the ground, flew around the pitch once as instructed, then left the stadium heading towards the lake.

The knowledge that there was possibly food on the go had helped Clifford a lot. He wanted to eat first!! RAWRR! Flying back into the pitch, the sixth year headed back fot the red rectangle. HIs dismount was a little untidy but who cared? He'd made it!

Tobi's flight towards the sky somehow set him back to the stadium how? no idea, maybe its because he felt way safer among bludgers than he did among squids. He saw the rectangle. he went for it. he LANDED! In the the RED RECTANGLE BO YAH!!!

Darting back into the stadium, Anna landed right inside the red rectangle. Whew! She'd done it! Holy Merlin, she'd done it! She really felt like passing out now, though. Where were those refreshments.....?

Zooming back to the pitch, Vanessa was still panting, well she was definetly worn out now. Heading back towards the red rectangle, she dismounted, and panted a little more. Now she was tired.

The refreshment table appeared with the promised gingersnaps and lemonade. "Well done! Clifford, Tobi and Anna were the first three to land, so they earned 5 extra points each," Vindictus said and marked it down on his grading sheet. "Take a break and enjoy the refreshments while we wait for others to finish the race."

Qaz flew into the pitch and darted down to the Red Rectangle. Exhausted. In dire need of lemonade.

And...she was back! Rian had made it all around the grounds on a broom and had lived to tell the tale. That was a big feat for her, considering her insane fear of heights and/or brooms.

She smiled to herself as she landed in the red rectangle. She dismounted and set her broom down nicely. That was actually pretty fun, she thought with surprise.

"Thanks, Sir." Clifford panted slightly, but evertheless found himself hurrying to the refreshments. When there was food, he was always first there. Oh yeah. YUMMY! Grabbing himself a handful of gingersnaps and a glass of lemonade, the Prefect collapsed on the ground, munched, and waited for the others.

"Arrrgggghhhhh.Look out!!!!" came the scream as Sarah came into land inside the red rectangle.
She came down with a bang and promptly collapsed with exhaustion.
"Need....drink....now," was all she could say.

Tobi panted as he all but fell off his broom. Now he know what Winnie felt like after the Raveclaw match. "Thank you sir," he gasped, taking a glass of lemonade and downing it in a single gulp.

He sat down hard in the grass not far from Carden. He had been SO close.

Rian giggled as she saw a Hufflepuff come screamin into the stadium. When the girl collapsed onto the ground, Rian, who had been getting herself a drink of lemonade, grabbed one for the girl too.

"Here ya go," she said with a smile, handing the extra cup of lemonade to the Hufflepuff.

"Well done Clifford, Anna and Tobi," Vanessa spoke, as she caught her breath back, and she smiled at those 3. They really deserved those extra points, they must have flew so well.
She took a few gingersnaps and a glass of lemonade, and sat down on the floor, to wait till the rest of the people finished the race.

Lyra zoomed back to the pitch and landed in the RED RECTANGLE, landing on her feet. That was fun! That was awesome!

Scrambling to her feet she dragged the broom behind her as she went to sit by the side of the pitch with the other finishers.

After kicking herself for her slow start and downing a glass of lemonade, Qaz felt much better. In fact, she wished that they could go again. That was really fun.

Shooting up he flew towards the pitch and spun his way through a pillar still singing Flight of the Valkeryies. Seeing the red rectangle he started laughing, not even caring if he was first or last that was a ton of fun. Leaning down on his broom he headed straight toward the ground pulling up only just before he hit the grass inside the red rectangle. Smirking he hoped off as he finished the last chords of the song and started laughing. That was soooooo much fun. Grinning he headed to get some refreshments.
