Surprise, surprise! The headmaster was apparently just as lost as she was. Great, just great. Turning fully on the spot as a last attempt to figure out which floor they were on Nancy sighed audibly as she found herself face to face with Professor Bontecou again still without any clue whatsoever where exactly they were at the moment. The third year let out a small sigh as she gave the headmaster a smile before with a roll of her eyes saying, "Oh, well. I get lost so easily arou-" She never got to finish that sentence, though, since a certain immensely annoying Hufflepuff boy thought that it was his turn to speak up. Slowly turning around to glare at the boy, not because of what he'd said because that actually had been pretty helpful to be honest, but simply because of his existence.

The headmaster was probably going to think she was pretty rude as she was just standing there shooting daggers at the small firstie instead of thanking him for his help but it was just so difficult to do anything but glare at him. Taking a deep breath Nancy muttered a barely audible, "Oh, okay, thanks" before turning around to give the headmaster a small nod and a smile and adding in a friendlier tone than the one she'd used when addressing Jack, "Nice talking to you, Sir." And with that said the third year simply walked back to the stairs.

Jack frowned at the girl "Anytime" he was confused, why was she being rude to him? What'd he done to her? Jack leaned against the wall casually as the girl walked off, Jack sighed to himself, he didn't understand some people.

"Headmaster! Headmaster Bontecou!" Anna exclaimed, hurrying through the first floor corridor in search of the man she was currently calling out to. She came to a sudden halt a mere foot in front of him, nearly slipping down and falling to floor. "Sir," she said, stopping to catch her breath. She and Lyra had been all over the school looking for him. They'd started in the Potions classroom, then made their way around several floors before finally catching sight of him. "Excuse me....sir," she said again. "I've just been in class---Potions class---and we were working on the assignment you left for us. We were doing well, and we nearly had the entire thing figured out. There's a problem, though. Peeves decided to grace us with his presence and, well, things aren't so great in there, sir. He's thrown the potion all around the room in an attempt to hit the students. The room is in a mess, sir! As prefect, I decided to leave and come search for you. We need your help, Headmaster!"

Lyra finally caught up with Banana and placed a hand on her shoulder while catching her breath. "Peeves...potion...everywhere...students...Protego ." Well that went well as her chest was continuing to move up and down. It was hard moving UP stairs rather than going DOWN.

"Oh good. Then I'm heading in the right direction," he grinned and watched as the lost girl hurried off. And then he heard the shouting...
"Ah yes, I was afraid of that. He met me on the staircase on my way down. Doesn't seem to like me much, though..." he said.

Meredith smiled friendly, again. "You're welcome" she said. "Well, nobody can really be sure of most things, you know..and life would be very boring then" although it would make life much easier sometimes.
She watched quietly as the headmaster and Nancy came by, keeping in the background. Ah, she wasn't the only one who got lost often..even the headmaster did!
Jack answered the question about which floor they were on helpfully, but Nancy glared at him. Huh? Why did Nancy not like Jack? Strange.. She frowned a little, Nancy had been nice before. A moment later, the girl disappeared again, she probably hadn't even noticed Meredith.
After she had heard some students talk yell about peeves, she went on with the conversation with Jack and said to him "I'll just look for the.. thingy later, then." She said thingy, so the other people wouldn't all know about it. A moment later, she realised she could have just thought it as well. "What are you going to do?" she asked.

Jack smiled at the headmaster warmly

Jack turned back to Meredith "Don't ask me" he shrugged "Ok then, I'm going to try to stay out of trouble, which seems to be hard for me" Jack laughed "And I'm gonna keep an eye on Dumont" he added quietly

Meredith grinned a little at the staying out of trouble remark, but not in a way that was meant unfriendly. Her face turned more serious when Jack talked about Dumont and she nodded once.
"Well, I think I'm gonna go.. I still have homework I have to do." unfortunately. Why did teachers always have to give so much homework?

Jack smiled "Have fun" he told her before leaning on the wall again "Try to space it out though" Jack nodded

"Lots of fun." Meredith said, rolling her eyes. "Yeah, I always try to do that." not that she always ended up doing it.. "And you have fun with staying out of trouble and what else you end up doing. Bye!" She said, smiling and then walking towards the moving stairs, turning around once to wave at Jack before she left the corridor. She was going to the commonroom to make homework. Yay. she thought to herself and sighed. Well, it had to be done sometime.

Jack laughed "Thanks, bye" he waved at her as she walked off, he smiled and turned to Dumonts office, he gazed at the door and walked away

Still trying to catch her breath but breathing a little better than before, Lyra tilted her head to the side and straightened up. This was her first time to come head to head with the Headmaster and he seemed so...funny really. Nothing she would have expected as Head of the school. "Sir, I believe he doesn't like anyone much," she said as a matter of fact since this was the second time she had met Peeves as the other was in the library in the restricted section. That....annoying thing had a lot of nerve messing up books but it was kind of funny to say the least; a real annoying prankster.

Anna nodded at the headmaster's words. She was still a bit out of breath and didn't know if she could chance saying actual words at the moment. Nevertheless, she had a headmaster to lead and a class to save, so speak she must. "No, he doesn't seem to like anyone too much at all, does he, Lyra?" Anna asked, not really expecting an answer, but more or less just making a comment. She turned back to the headmaster and nodded in the direction they'd need to take to get back to class. "Well then. In that case, do you want to lead the way, or shall I?" she asked. She didn't want to come out and point blank state this, but she still sort of thought that the headmaster was a little lost and didn't really know the way to class.

"You might be right about that, but it seems to me, previous headmasters were afforded at least some respect."
Oh good. She was going to lead the way, or at least offered to without actually offering, allowing him to save at least some of his dignity. "Lead on fair maiden and pray we are in time," he said and then burst out laughing at himself.

"Yes, sir. To the potions classroom we go!" she said, turning and heading off down the corridor, making sure she walked slowly enough for the headmaster to keep up, yet quickly enough so she wouldn't waste any time. Peeves very well could have burned the place down by now! Anna also didn't know what the potion actually was...could it have harmed the other students by now? Hopefully they would get back in time to save the day! The professor wouldn't get lost while following someone...would he? As Anna walked, she occasionally glanced to the side to make sure the headmaster was keeping up. So far, so good...

Lyra made sure and brought along the rear of the group making sure that the Headmaster followed and was not lost again. His classroom was in need of help and she wanted to make sure he followed the right way, and followed Banana. She nodded her head in understanding to what the Headmaster said about Peeves. Crazy Poltergeist!

"You're gonna need to put ice on that, love." Evangeline said as she lead Clifford into the first floor corridor, her worried eyes eyeing the bump that was forming on his head. Brilliant. Now he had a bump on his forehead and it was her fault! Actually ... ah, actually it was Kazimeriz's fault. Hmpf.

"You're not that bad, you know?" She honestly told him when he said she was way better at spell casting than he. She really wasn't and only he would think that. Once they stepped out onto the corridor, she looked around and decided to grab her wand. With that DADA challenge going on, you never knew when you'd get hexed. Gosh. After she checked the area was secure, she looked back at Clifford and grinned. "No worry, it'll be our secret."

Ice? Where on Earth was he meant to get some ice here? On the first floor corridor? "Eh, it's alright," Clifford started, ruffling his hair before flattening it over the bump on his forehead. There, that was better. "I'll just suck it up like a man!" Right. "Hey, people might start talking. It probably looks like you've gone and socked me one.. People might think you've been abusing me!"

He was just playing. If anyone asked, he'd earned that bump on his head by doing something amazingly, cool and brave. Yup, yup.

Vindictus came out of nowhere and walked directly at the two Slytherins. "Put ice on what?" he grinned and dropped two large Honeydukes chocolate bars on the ground as he walked past them.

Oooooooof course Clifford would say something like that. What was it with guys and their eternal need to prove their masculinity through pain? Bleh. "Keep on talking like that and you're gonna get mixed up by a Gryffindor." She added in a low voice, for him only to hear. She had nothing against Gryffindors ... just a couple of them. Eh.

She let out a gigglesnort when he went on about how people could think she was abusing him, moving one hand to the top of her head to check if her ribbon was still in place. Hmm. It seemed so. "Oh yeah? Start telling people I abuse you and I will abuse you." She teased. There was no using in having the fame if she didn't do it, right? Hehe.

So distracted she was in teasing Clifford, she nearly jumped out of her skin when another person spoke up. Aaah. It was just Vindictus. Gosh. Had it been someone hexing her, she'd have failed DADA. Bleh. "Err. Clifford's forehead, Sir." She said in reply to the man's question, looking down at her feet when the Quidditch professor dropped two chocolate bars. Okaaay. "Sir? You've dropped something, I believe."

"Did I?" Vindictus asked and tried to bend over. "Umph. Argh. Old Quidditch injury is acting up. Can you pick those up for me?" He had a pained look on his face and both hands were on his lower back.

Put ice on what? Clifford spun around at the source of the new voice and jumped when he spotted Professor Vindictus walking straight for them. Oh gosh, he thought desperately, please don't tell him you beat me in a duel, Evangeline! Now that would be embarrassing!

Clearing his throat when Evangeline threatened to really abuse him, Clifford blinked when Professor Vindictus dropped CHOCOLAAATE and then apparently couldn't pick the CHOOOCOLATE up.

EEE!!

"Here, Sir. Lemme help." He bounced, kneeling down and retrieving not one but TWO bars of nummyness. "I uh.." Straigtening up, the Prefect held them tight to his chest as though they were precious. Heck, they were precious. But not his.. sadly. "Erm.. here you are." He sighed, reluctantly offering them back to their rightful owner. Sniffle.

"No, no. You keep them," Vindictus smiled and took three steps back. His motions were too fast and completely unexpected. His right arm whipped out and he pointed his wand at Clifford. "Tarantallegra!" Then he swished and flicked his wand at Evangeline. "Rictusempra!"

Bwahaha. Trust Clifford to not want to give Vindictus his chocolates back. At least the man was nice enough to let him keep them, or maybe his injury was just hurting him so badly he couldn't even walk back to retrieve his chocolate bars. Hmmm. "Cheers, Sir!" She called out after him, twirling her wand on his fingers.

And thank goodness for that too.

She was watching the man leave and thinking if Clifford would end up like him (like him meaning with a Quidditch inflicted injury that prevented him from doing certain movements, of course) when the man suddenly turned around and moved ... .well, pretty fast. Goodness.

By the time Professor Vindictus cast a spell in her direction, Evangeline was ready. Sorta. "Protego!" Because of how sudden it all happened, the shield was rather weak and she was still hit by the spell .. though with not as much intensity. Once more, she broke into a fit of chuckles causing her to have to bend over to clutch at tummy. Oh Merlin.

NOWAI! He was allowed to keep the chocolate! If Evangeline hadn't been in the vicinity Clifford might've kissed Professor Vindictus! He managed to keep his lips to himself though. Hehe. Well, him and this chocolate. RAWR!

He was so excited at the prospect of his two yummy bars of chocolate that Clifford was completely unaware of what it was the Professor was up to. The chocolate was dropped again as Clifford's arms flailed madly due to way his legs moved crazily. WHUUUUT!? "NUUU!" He panted, struggling to keep his legs from bopping in all directions. "It was a traaaaaap! No FAIR!"

A cruel one at that! How was he meant to reach for his wand when his arms were full of chocolate!? How could Vindictus be as evil as Kazimeriz!?
