Kayla raised her hand, "Fear is an unpleasant and often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger. Fear is completely natural and helps people to recognise and respond to dangerous situations and threats. However healthy fear or fear which has a protective function can sometimes evolve into an unhealthy or pathological fear, which can lead to exaggerated and violent behaviour." |

Shana didn't know the answer to this question,so she looked threw her text book. She glanced around the classroom, wow! this is rather scary. She thought and this was coming from a girl that didn't get scared very often. She smiled at the Professor and carried on looking threw her text book. |
A tut came from one of the desks near a back corner, that golden hair seeming to pierce the gloom, what a text book answer. The taste of fear was bitter on his tongue. This room was trying to invoke a primal emotion, something possibly more powerful than any hex or curse. Those bright blue eyes bore holes in the back of Kaylas head. Those that did not respect her, feared her. You can't buy that kind of power. "Fear is a negative emotion. It comes first from the center, opposite of hope. It is represented by the color yellow. Malleable to it's users desires, it can render an opponents willpower inert." Ok...he rarely ever spoke up in class, and this is why. Crazy? Yes. Jibberish? Maybe..it made sense to him at least. |
Freya's head merely turned as the professor entered the room; goodness it was a bit loud though. Her eyes spotted that 'Tobi' student as well, 'Wow, he's actually taller than me now...'. She waited as Kazimeriz spoke to the class,'Fear...oh goody.' Freya thought as she sat in her seat with her wand in her hand, waiting for whatever class participation to take place. "Fear is what can rot a person from the inside out, make them go insane, waste their lives worrying and dreading about something that is inevitable, a strong caution, or simply unworthy." Freya had raised her hand and spoke almost in a whisper to herself, after hearing a couple of other students make their thoughts heard. Her heart started to flutter at a few less than pleasant thoughts and she looked to the top of her desk, shivering slightly...all she could hear was that awful sound now.... |
Celandine visibly relaxed when Professor Kazimeriz entered the room and immediately raised her hand at the question. This was something she'd had drilled into her from a young age. She spoke as if she'd learned completely by rote. "Fear is a barrier to learning. Fear is the opposite of thought. Fear, and the conquering of it, is the truest measure of one's character. Fear is conquered by clarity of thought, clarity of thought is achieved by defying fear and not allowing it to interfere with one's quest for knowledge. Fear is a beast of terror imagined by the mind and perpetuated by the fool. Only the truly wise can defy fear and gain clarity." Cela paused and blinked before adding to her answer in her regular tone, "Professor Kazimeriz, fear is a sensation of uneasiness magnified by bad experiences and human instinct. To run, to hide and to fight are survival mechanisms which most living creatures have developed in relation to experiencing fear. Not all fear is bad or necessary to overcome in order to prove yourself, sometimes it is there for a reason; in order to save your skin. The trick is learning to tell the difference between instinctual fear and imagined fear. And I don't think fear is an emotion which is felt, it's more of a sensation which is experienced." |

Plymouth should have expected it, but of course he didn't. He let out a yip that would have made any chihuahua jealous. YIKES. Professor KaziFEARiz did it on purpose. He so did. He planned the ghosts, the water balloons (where Plymouth hid in his robes), the distractions - just to get Plymouth's mind elsewhere. Plymouth was SO SURE of this. Quote:

If it weren’t because Willow was too busy on trying to convince herself that standing up and leaving the classroom was not the answer to anything, she would have actually felt very smug for having even surprised Peeves with her smart reply. And even told the chaos creator her name, too, just like he had requested. But no—talking was a very dangerous thing to do right now. Talking and thinking. She wanted to punch Peeves for having thrown a water ballon at her, and Dominic Denton for being such an idiot. Especially Dominic Denton. Testing chairs. . . Her lips pursed. As distracted as the girl had been, Willow failed to notice the arrival of Professor Kazimeriz. Which meant that when the old man spoke, she jumped on her seat. Fear? You, your classroom, animals. That’s what fear is! But that was the answer that Kazimeriz was looking for, was it? She raised her hand, and spoke lowly from her seat, “Well, it is an innate emotion, sir. And we have all felt fear at some point in our lives. Also, it is something very close to a survival instict? Sort of the response we usually give to pain or to a threat that involves pain, and also of losing people we care about. . . “ |
Herminny was quite bemused by this class cause this was her first encounter with one of the ghosts at Hogwarts and Peeves too, so cool, to Herminny Lady Ravenclaw was quite the elaquaint ghost unlike most she heard of. She was quite pretty too. As for peeves, he was quite a peice of work but much more pleasant then Vindictus. Then Herminny decided to answe the question at hand, what is fear?,and said, "Fear is anything that that makes tou uncmfortable in a way that frightens or scares you". |
This Professor was completely off his rocker. Clifford liked to think he was big and brave, but heck, he didn't like sitting here in the dark with that bloke prowling around. Ack! "Fear," Clifford started, clearing his throat when he realised his voice had gone wobbly. "Fear is like this feeling.. when you're so, so, so scared.. and you just wanna pee your pants." Right. |

Well then, maybe thats why he was so crazy, because he didn't go to Hogwarts... Atleast Myrtle has the diecency to not cause chaos! And then he dissapeared. Finally. And then the Professor appeared as if from nowhere! Miranda squealed. She really much wanted to hide under the table now. But what is fear? Huh... Miranda decided to just listen in to what the others were saying. Anyway, she wasn't sure her shaky voice would sound all that great. |
Abby raises her hand. "Fear is fear. It's not logical, rational, or has any basis in fact. It is a human emotion. A feeling that cannot be controlled or understood. How do you explain being afraid of the dark? The only reason I can say I am is that I fear the unknown, and when it's pitch black dark you cannot see anything. I fear that which I cannot see or experience. It's easy to explain sitting here in class, but you just extingish the light. My feeling of calm rationality will disapear in a heart beat." |
Joanne, that had almost fell from her seat as the professor made the dramatic theatrical entrance, straightened herself in the seat as she heard the professors words. She felt a chill go down her spine as she thought about what fear was and raised her hand " Well, I believe fear is a feeling? An non rational body reaction so certain types of stimulation ? For instance, phycological torture doesn't actually hurt but it "scares" our brain to a point it's almost physical, chills down you spine, goosebumps, stomach ache ? I think that's fear, when something distresses you mentally so much it makes you feel it." Joanne dropped her hand after speaking that and wondered if she did good. |
Ana raised her hand "Fear is an emotional response to threats and danger. It's a basic mechanism which help us surviving. It's a innate emotion." |
Emalyn, upon Professor Kazimeriz's entrance, had just shaken the boy's hand, but hadn't been able to tell him her name. She smiled quickly at him, nodding, and listening to the Professor. It was hard to smile when dread was forming in the pit of your stomach, and you felt nauseous. |
William shook like a piece of string in the wind. He wanted so bad to hide in the creepy black dark corner, just so professor Kazimeanie-panteriz couldn't see him but he didn't. He was too nervous, plus it didn't help that there had been a ghost like five inches from his back at one point. He put his shaking hand in the air. "Sir fear is something we all encounter. It's the unknown, the darkness that always surrounds us. I don't think it's an emotion, just something our brain tells us to do." He said in his strongest voice. He sure didn't want to loose more points by saying fear was being scared of that bad meanie man before him. Oh no that was so not going to happen. |
Nick flew into the DADA classsroom, excited to see that there was a lesson going on. What he wanted right now was to be around students - NORMAL students - not professors who were acting like they were still attending Hogwarts. Even ghosts got frustrated at times! He raised his hand to the students as he floated near the back of the class, not wanting to make a big scene but certain that he was visible to anyone who turned around. |
Freya spotted another Ghost in the classroom now, 'Seems like this should be really fun today.' She thought as she gave the newcomer a nice smile and turned around again, starting to fiddle with her notetaking materials and looked around the room some more, wondering if there was anything she had missed. |
Already a girl had noticed Nick, which was fine with him. He waved his hand to her, the equivalent of a ghost smile, and settled back quietly to watch the fun. |
William glanced around, his blue eyes trying to penetrate the gloom that was the classroom and saw a ghost. At least he thought it was a ghost, it was transparent anyway. At least it wasn't throwing stink pellets at him he figured, so smiled slightly, tilting his head in recognition and turned back to the professor, face devoid of emotion. |
Miles raised his hand, his heart beating a little faster than normal, and his palms were a little sweaty. He hated being scared, and it was a lot of the time too. "Fear's ... like ... when you're UBER scared, and all you want to do is crawl under a rock and hope the feeling goes away." |
Joanne was very amused, there was just missing the Hufflepuff and Slytherin ghosts now. She smiled as Sir Nearly Headless Nick entered, floated in fact, into the room. She wondered for how long Peeves was going to keep it down with all this other ghosts there too. She glanced around the room and saw Freya, she smiled a bit to her, to acknowledge her presence then she continued to watch other students answers. |
Nick sensed the presence of Peeves nearby. He could see him out of the corner of his eye. He frowned at him, warning him not to make a fool out of himself. The only ghosts he worried about were Peeves and Myrtle, neither one had much self control. It was good just to be in here, it was somehow - comforting. |
Barry raised his hand "Fear is a feeling. Its a feeling of uneasyness. Your stomoch feels weird , you don`t want to do something. Its a horrible feeling but yet wonderful. It gives you experiance and it builds courage. So yes it can be wonderful and yet horrible, you never know" he said, looking at things differently. Looking as a ghost entered Barry gave him a little wave, it was nice to have some ghosts around, Barry had given up on finding out how they had returned. |

He smiled at Nick and tried to focus on the lesson, Cela and Kayla's answers were interesting, while Clifford's was just plain funny, funny is good, but he didn't think Professor Kazimeriz would be entirely thrilled with it. |
