Celandine happily brandished her wand and practiced the wand movement and incantation. She'd done this in charms in her first year so she was pretty confident. "Riddikulus!" With the sharp and sweeping movement plus an overabundance of happy, Cela joined the shorter line. |
"Very good. Excellent wand work, Avalon. Let us see if you can continue that conviction when confronted. As I am certain all of you have guessed, we are privileged to have in our midst today not only our beloved Hogwarts ghosts, but other special guests-- boggarts." Professor Kazimeriz smirked, quite obviousy enjoying himself. "I ask that you move forward in your queues and stand in a half-circle around the wardrobes. Keep your wands drawn. Then, you will think of what truly frightens you... your deepest, darkest fears. Have it firm in your mind, and be honest with yourself, for they already know what scares you!" Kazimeriz smirked. "When the boggart moves toward you in attack, think of a way to make the thing that scares you very, very funny-- then cast riddukulus. Are there any questions before we begin?" ooc: Please RP your character following directions and standing in a half-circle at the front of the room. Then RP what you charrie is afraid of and also identify your character's true fear as an ooc comment at the bottom of your post as well. This way the boggart can know how to attack you. (Yes, there are actual boggarts in this class! Don't RP for them or they'll get super cranky!) Once you've been attacked, feel free to defend yourself, following Kazimeriz's directions. Good luck! and remember... these are real boggarts so wait for them to attack you after you've posted to identified your fear. Thanks! Xana~ |
Kayla moved forward and stood in the half circle, her wand gripped tightly in her hand. Her greatest fear was her grandmother for sure and what the woman would do to her if she ever got out of Azkaban, Kayla shuddered and took a firmer hold of her wand as her hands had suddenly gone all sweaty. She tried her hardest to think of a way to make her grandmother look funny but she was finding it rather difficult at the moment. The woman truly scared the living daylights out of her. It was then that a thought came to her and knew that it might just be her only way of finding this whole thing funny. ooc: Kayla's true fear is her grandmother and the riddicule and punishments that she used to dish out to her. |
Wand drawn and face set William did as he was told, moving into a semi circle around the one wardrobe. He glanced around at those around him, secretly wondering what they're fears were. His own fear was weird enough but it terrified him enough to know it was real. Taking a deep breath he waited. He could see his unknown father walking up to him, face full of utter rage as he descended upon him, screaming at him. His mother shaking her head with tears cascading down her youthful features, denouncing him as her son. Ariana walking away from him when he really needed it. These thoughts kept moving around in his mind and he felt his face paling as he gulped. It's not true, they love me he kept thinking, trying to picture something good. OOC: Williams' biggest fear is his whole family coming up to him and telling him he'll never amount to anything. |

One of the wardrobes began to rattle. Slowly at first, and then more violently towards the end stopping abruptly before one of the doors hinged open a crack. From behind the door, the boggarts new form still mostly hidden as it stepped one foot to the ground at a time to reveal an older woman whose expression was less than pleased. An icey, burning stare was directed towards Kayla and the old woman drew a wand (as if to strike or curse) as she began to advance towards her. |
*Gabben only nodded and moved with the other students until a half-circle was formed. He then thought of his fears. What was he scared of? The thing that came to his mind first was someone finding out about Kyle and him getting taken away. If that fear showed up then everyone would know and his fear would come true. No he must have another bigger fear. His face went pale as he pulled his wand out and stood at the ready waiting to see what would come out at him.* OOC: A lethifold. (This dangerous beast resembles a half-inch thick black cloak which moves along the ground at night, hunting its prey. It attacks sleeping humans, smothers them, then digests them, all in their bed, leaving no trace at all.) |
Emiliano stood, half a circle , front of the room as instructed by the professor and took a deep breath. Leaving...his mother. That made him just...tremble. ooc. My charrie's greatest fear at the moment is his mother, telling him that he would have to move again. |
Tobi took his place in the half circle around the class. He focused on his fear. He knew the drill. Okay, it was lame, he knew, but Tobi wasn't afraid of falling off brooms, dark creatures, ghosts, dying horribly painful deaths, he was afraid of plants. yes, magical plants. It was all his sister's fault, but it didn't stop him from being scared of them. ooc: Tobi's most afraid of magical plants. particularly honking daffodils. |

OOC: Sakura fears her mother the most and the way she used to teach her how to cast spells that aren't technically considered legal, by casting them on her daughter first. |
Freya moved to the front as she was instructed to do, forming a half circle with the other students nearby. Her stomach had already done a number of flips already, there were a few things that came to mind as she wondered what her deepest and darkest fear was. 'I don't really know what it is...it could be one of three...' But even as she thought about what it could be, some awful, suffocating and gurgling noise filled her ears. The sound of water rushing past her and into her ears and down her throat, feeling the ice cold water around her...that old memory had come back, from that terrible day. She could almost feel the braided-steel rope binding her legs together, and a weight holding her down to the bottom of a pitch black lake with God knows what else down there to keep Freya company. No wand, no help, nothing.... But it suddenly stopped, and now she could hear her late-mother's voice speaking softly into her left ear... She was so caught up in her memory, that she jumped slightly as the sound of another student nearby her snapped her back into reality, into the now. Freya took a shuddering breath, glad that clean air was able to pass through her, and not freezing, dirty lake water. She kept her wand in her hand as instructed and waited patiently, trying her best to settle her nerves. OOC: Fear of being weighed down in deep water to drown; the bottom of the lake near her old home to be precise. |
Karma nearly jumped out of her seat at the chance of doing magic in class. She was excited, and made her way to the center of the room, choosing to stand next to Emiliano. She nudged him, and winked. Her wand was still drawn as she focused on what she was most afraid of. OOC: Karma is part Veela, and fears that she couldn't control her power. So, her fear is seeing herself as a full Veela, with no control over ANYTHING she has. Including the power that the Veela has. |
Celandine eyed the wardrobe and took a shaky breath before moving to take her place in a the half-circle. She'd done this before. It would be fine. As long as she didn't end up inside the wardrobe again. Mmm. This was never fun. She held her wand at the ready. Was it going to be lethifolds this time? Eeeep! It was pretty scary remembering the lethifold attack. Cela wondered which it ws going to be and whether she'd be able to make it something funny. Oh she wished her Slytherins were here! ooc: being locked in wardrobes (specifically by her uncle), lethifolds (which attacked her brother when they were on holiday in the maldives), something bad happening to Nico and Will since she can't keep an eye on them anymore. |

Kayla held her ground as the wardrobe shook and it wasn't until the figure emerged and took the form of her grandmother did she take a few steps backwards. Okay she had been expecting it but still the sight of Rosa Cavello standing before her, had Kayla's heart racing and her mouth had gone extremely dry. Her mind had gone blank as the woman advanced on her, she couldn't find anything in her mind that would make this situation even the slightest bit funny. |
Plymouth got out of line and moved back. He... didn't want to do this. He didn't LIKE to be afraid! Who did? Really, who did? Ugh. Plymouth hugged himself and fretted over every minute until it was finally his turn. He knew what was about to happen and he couldn't figure out a way to make this FUNNY. He drew his wand.. OOC: Plymouth is afraid of being alone. |
Rian frowned as she took her place in the half circle. She was trying to think of her greatest fear, and a way to make that fear funny. First she thought of heights, because she was deathly afraid of those. Then she thought of losing points, and that about scared the socks off of her then and there. But then she thought of a more rational (or irrational, either way you look at it) fear. Gripping her wand tightly, she waited for the boggart to come at her. ooc - Rian's biggest fear is that her three year old sister - who is sick and in the hospital - will die. |

OOC: Anna's worst fear is a zombie in the form of her dead boyfriend. |
Lyra moved into a half circle as the professor asked; her wand was ready in her hand as she grasped with her fingers in a tight hold. She had practiced over and over the Riddikulus spell and now felt as though she was ready. She had her favorite memory but had to make sure that it didn't over lap with the rest of the story. But her greatest fear.... BUGS! Big, giant, ewwy, grossy, giant BUGS! Especially the creepy crawly ones that seemed to grow one or two little twigs of hair out of the top of their heads as if they were extra antennas or little feelers that wanted to wrap around her and hold her close to them. She shivered at just the thought of being...close to such a gross thing. ooc: Lyra's fear, a big giant cockroach...like the kind that only grow in Texas -shivers- |

The man faced William, eyes bulging wildly. "You're a disappointment to this family, boy. You are nothing- never will be anything... you're a failure." He took another deep breath to continue shrieking at the boy, one violently trembling finger pointed dramatically at him. |

"Youuuu stupid girl! You weak and pathetic stupid girl! Is this the way you treat your beloved granny!" The creature spat out with cruel venom. |

Looking at Ari he froze, anymore words dying immediately as she didn't make eye contact with him. Suddenly he didn't know what to do; his mind going blank like a clean sheet of paper. |

Samson stepped into the half circle, eyeing everyone else. If there's one thing he didn't like, it was revealing his fear. Guh. His fear was utterly ridiculous, and he hated it. Of course, his only consolation now was that he had no idea how the boggart was going to be able to conjure up his fear. Wand at the ready, Samson waited for his turn, with his greatest fear in mind. Stupid, stupid claustrophobia. ooc: Samson's claustrophobic. Go figure. |

Kayla visibly flinched at the words thrown at her and she shrunk back even further, her wand almost slipping out of her hand. "I - I- you" she stammered pointing her finger at her grandmother. "The things you did were wrong. I - I had to turn you in. It was the right thing to do" Kayla finished off in a whisper. "You never loved me anyway, you made me do horrible things and you punished me severely when I didn't do as you asked." She had backed up so far that she was now pressed against one of the desks, with nowhere else to go. "And I'm not stupid" she added weakly. |
Copernicus sighed and pulled out his wand again. He crossed to join the half circle, hoping he could go last. After everyone had left. The first couple of boggarts appeared, and he tried to just WATCH and not worry over his own turn. Surely he could beat this boggart again - he had back at Beauxbatons. He held out his wand, and thought deep fear-defying thoughts. ooc: Cope is afraid of letting people (his father, Plymouth, professors) down. Or if that's too abstract, being struck by lightning. Fun! |
