Sarah wandered in slowly,completely unsure as to what was going on.
She glanced up at the dais and noticed extra tables had been placed there....with extra people seated there too.
Hmmm strange.

Walking along the aisle Sarah found a seat,sat down,and waited patiently for whatever was going to happen....to happen.

As she strolled into the Great Hall, Anna was careful not to let her black heels click-clack too much. She wasn't exactly a pro in heel-wearing and quite frankly, she wasn't even sure if it was appropriate to even let your heels click-clack while walking. She'd packed them last summer, but of course she'd never worn them. Her mother had told her that all seventeen-year-old witches needed a pair, so Anna had brought them along with her to school simply as a way to humor her fashion-loving mom.

As she took a seat, Anna stole a few glances at the Minister of Magic and his soon-to-be former Senior Undersecretary. She was certain the female would win the election. Anna's mother, after all, was a something-or-another in Taylor's campaign. Anna glanced down and busied herself with a piece of the house table that had been slightly broken off. She twirled it around and around until it snapped off the table and crumbled in her hands. That was when she stole another glance at the two very important people sitting in the front of the Great Hall. Were you even supposed to stare at the frazzling Minister of Magic? Probably not. Seeing that she had nothing else to busy herself with, Anna just placed her hands in her lap and waited for whatever to begin.

Sam walked into the Great Hall, stopping dead in his tracks when he saw the two extra tables. The Minstry? Again? His face turned and uncomfortable shade of green, however, Sam seated himself at the Hufflepuff table. Oh nooooooooooooooooooooes. What if he had to go to Cooper's again? Sam shuddered involuntaraly. It then that he realised there were two different Ministry tables. One of which held Reagan Taylor. Oh. So he wasn't going to be forced to attend Cooper's again. Thank Merlin for that.

He grinned inspite of himself and returned to his normal skin tone. This must be some sort of candidate propagada session or something. Sam frowned. Well, he thought lightly, at least Taylor's talking too. Yes. He didn't have to listen to Cooper the whole time. Yay.

Herminny walked into the Great Hall aand saw an extra table in the great hall and thouht, hmm, what was this all about and got closer to it and saw the Minister for Magic seating there and someone else she did not recognize and took her seat and thought surely the headmaster would explain why the Minister for Magic and the other guy were here soon.

This was new, Miranda thought as she entered the Great Hall. There were people in there, and not the usual teachers and students, but older... persons.
She had no idea who they were, politics wether it was in the muggle or magical world, was not something Miranda was that interested in. But this seemed interesting and her curiousity got the better of her.

Miranda went and sat at the Hufflepuff table, waiting and wondering just what this was all about. I think I'll eat a chocolate frog.

Cale wandered down to the Great Hall, grinning at the sight of Taylor seated on the right of the Staff Table. Seeing as how his uncle was campaign manager of her bid for office, she was soooooooo gonna win. No one at this school liked Cooper anyways, since HE was the reason they had been split that horrible term two years ago. Mwahaha. He'd be getting no votes from any of the legal students any time soon, that was for sure.

Finding a seat next to Anna, he slid down on the bench and stopped with a sigh. "What's the point of us being here? We know she's gonna win anyways," he whispered out of the corner of his mouth with a small smirk.

Rian's eyebrows shot up on her forehead when she entered the great hall and saw the change in decoration...at least at the staff table. Her mouth opened and she bit her tongue, wondering what this was all about. Without saying anything, though, she walked over to her table and sat down.

Amanda headed into the Great Hall and noticed that there were two ministry people here, she wondered what this was all about but didn't want to question. One person she recognized was Minister Cooper, unfortunately she had really no respect for him since he was the one that caused the trouble in her 1st year. She took a seat at the Slytherin table, and waited patiently for details of what was happening.

Ana walked into the Great Hall thinking What was going on here? she took a seat at her table and waited, wondering.

Keeping up with appearances, Lyra made her way into the Great Hall. Once again, she was nosy and loved every moment of being this way. She looked at the newly added table only knowing that one of the people was the Minister of Magic. Whoopie. She wondered what this was all about and knew that someone would be along shortly to explain this.

Headmaster Bontecou entered the great hall a bit later than anticipated. He was supposed to be here BEFORE the candidates arrived so that he could welcome them. Oh well, better late than after the function was over, or worse: never. He smiled and walked up to shake the candidates' hands. He knew them, of course, having been an employee at the Ministry of Magic for a while, but he'd only interacted them briefly on a limited number of occasions. "It's good to see you. I'm glad you could make it and speak with the students. I'm going to go ahead and introduce you, now," he explained and then stepped up to a podium which had been placed for the occasion.

"Attention students! I want to welcome you to this special assembly today and apologize for suspending classes for the duration as I'm sure you're all terribly disappointed about that," he grinned and paused for the inevitable laughter and/or rolling of the eyes that would follow that comment.

"Now, it gives me great pleasure to introduce our special guests this afternoon. As many of you may be aware, especially if you're following the Daily Prophet, there is a very important election coming up which will decide who will be Minister for Magic. And these esteemed persons here behind me," he said, gesturing behind him and then pushing his glasses back up his nose. "Are the candidates. To my right, the Current Minister for Magic, Mr. Brennan Cooper, Order of Merlin Third Class, three time Witch Weekly's Most Eligible Bachelor, and four or five time (I can't remember which now) winner of the Wickedest Wizarding Flat award."

Hmm... totally butchered that last one. Pepe couldn't, for the life of him, remember what that obscure Better Homes and Gardens-type magazine had called that award. He shrugged it off and moved on to the next candidate. He grinned. Lovely. Just lovely.

"And to my left is the lovely Senior Undersecretary, Ms. Reagan Taylor, Supreme Sorceress of the Most Extraordinary Society of Potioneers, and distinguished author featured in The Practical Potioneer and Challenges in Charming" he smiled and clapped for her.

Well, technically there wasn't an official 'supreme sorceress' position, but Pepe was fairly sure he'd seen her name listed on the member's list when he'd received the last bulletin and he might have seen her at one or two of the meetings, too. Well, she was pretty cool and a sorceress, so why not supreme? Whatever.

"And now, the candidates will take the next few minutes to say a few words. After that please feel free to approach the tables to pick up buttons, stickers, and other election paraphernalia as well as speak with the candidates. So, without further ado, the Minister for Magic, Mr. Brennan Cooper," he clapped politely and then hopped off the dias to take a seat in the crowd; see what Coop had to say.

Even though chances were Cooper didnt really remember any of it, Evangeline was still sitting on the back seats, trying not to bring too much attention to herself. Cale still knew about the little letter her and Ellie had sent to the Minister, and she wouldn't put it past the Gryffindor to reveal that piece of information now so that a mob of angry students would attack her. Yup, it was best to stay unnoticed.

She couldn't help but to let a small smile flicker upon her lips after hearing Headmaster's Bontecou's introductions. The man was really hilarious, but Evangeline had grown to respect him. Following his actions she clapped politely as she waited for Cooper's speech.

Livvy had made her way into the Great Hall and sat down at her table. She glanced up at front to see the current Minister of Magic and the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister. Livvy wondered if it'd be about the election. Most likely.

She looked up as the Headmaster spoke and listened. Sure.. just terribly disappointed. How much she wanted to go to class was just bursting out of her chest. Hm. This shall be quite interesting. Livvy's hands quietly clapped as she looked around to see if they were actually supposed to clap too.

Sitting listening to the Headmaster was an....interesting experiance.So this was about an election? Hmmmm
Sarah wasn't very fond of politics..muggle or wizard.She found it extremely boring.As I'm here,though,I suppose I had better pay attention.

She tried to stiffle a giggle as Bontecou waffled on about the awards that Cooper had won.Wickedest Wizarding Flat? Was that even real?
Looking round her fellow student she could see they were watching intently as well.
Sighing,she turned back to face the dais and waited for the current Minister to make his speech.

Leaning her elbow on the table,Sarah put her head on her hand and could feel her eyelids getting heavy. "Get on with it already!" she muttered quietly under her breath.The sudden jolt of her head slipping off her hand made her sit bolt upright...she hoped nobody saw her...nearly asleep.
Oh boy that wouldn't be a good look.

Right, of course. This should be interesting, which is why she was sitting on the edge of her chair waiting for someone else to speak...waiting for the Minister she disliked the most to speak...and wondering what he would say. Certainly the Miss that was running against him must be well versed.

BUT...

Mmhmm, Headmaster Bontecou forgot to mention something VERY, VERY important. Minister Cooper was also the owner of the Wimbourne Wasps. A fact that didn't make her lose any interest in her favorite Quidditch team. But it was the only fact she knew about the Minister, other than him being the brother of their former Headmistress Rae.

BUT...

Yeah, let's wait and see, let's wait and see.

Paris stood up and clapped loudly when the Headmaster introduced Reagan Taylor. Paris was a junior member of the Potioneers Society and she got the newsletter and Reagan was always in it. She was Paris' favorite. She wanted to get her autograph so bad. She even had the latest newsletter tucked into her bag with Reagan's picture on it.

Her parents didn't think too much of Minister Cooper, and even her grandmother had stopped inviting him to official state dinners and things, so Paris wasn't too interested in what he had to say. She just wanted to see Ms. Taylor.

Dissapointed. Sam snorted softly and raised his eyes to the ceiling. His head bobbed lazily on his shoulders as he tried to concentrate on the Headmaster. When Bontecou gestered towards the Minister, Sam couldn't help but let out a soft, barely audible, 'boo!'. He thought he was all that. Sam grimaced a little. As the Headmaster introduced Reagan Taylor however, Sam applauded enthusiastically. He couldn't wait for her to speak.

Oh yay! Buttons! Sam thought, excitement overtaking him. Now he got to be Pro-Taylor all over school. The thought of all the school-wide pro-candidate campaigns made him smile. The Cooper-supporters were going to go down.

She looked over her shoulder as she heard the tiniest boo. She saw an older boy and she had to giggle that he would have the nerve to boo the Minister. She gave the the smallest wave and a smile.

Ooooooooooops. Someone had heard him. Sam blushed bright red and grinned back at the younger Slytherin girl sheepishly. He really had to be more carefull when expressing himself. Sam turned away from the front of the room slightly so his current skin-tone wouldn't give him away. Seriously, he must look like a big ole red dot in a sea of different ethnicities.

"Democracy...what messy business." The prince scoffed while taking his seat with the other Hufflepuffs.

Though he wanted no part in politics, he eyed the Minister curiously. Did he know about Aeaea? That their greatest threat wasn't muggles, but a nation few believed to exist.

Why waste time with elections when you could have royalty?

She was laughing at him...ouch. Like he wasn't embarrassed enough. Sam frowned slightly, feeling his temperature decrease slightly. He turned back to the front, confident now that he was past his blush. In fact, he was still slightly red, but not enough to be noticable.

Lasca listened as the Minister and the Undersecretary were introduced. She personally wan't interested in politics but it was important to have a good leader. From what she had heard the current Minister was a bit overzealous in his work (not!), and Miss Reagan was good at her job as well. She sat down and wondered at what they would have to say. Would they be aloud to vote?

As Rachel walked into the Great Hall, she blinked several times as the new deco greeted her. Grimacing as she realized what this meant, she quickly sat down in her customary seat and listened as the Headmaster spoke, already knowing why they were here. But Jake didn't mention a visit to Hogwarts... she thought to herself as she studied the two candidates - the current Minister and his Secretary. Frowning at the distance between them, she squinted to try and get a few more details on this Taylor woman.
She knew that Jake had signed up to help Reagan Taylor with her campaign - something that Rachel wasn't too fond of because she didn't think that it was a smart more while taking his career into consideration. Allying himself with the rival of the Minister might not be the best idea should things go wrong and Brennan Cooper win the election. Although, I do get why he did it. Some people have to help her out otherwise she'll have no chance... Rachel made a face and crossed her hands over her chest, waiting to see if Candidate Taylor really was all that Jake had described her to be.
