Amanda headed into the Criminal Cell, this place was definately intimidating. She wasn't here last term, but the two detentions were much much different, she wondered what Professor Vindictus had in mind for her detention, she was ready to face anything.

There were six brooms lying on an old work table in the smelly room and not even a chair to sit on. But there was something about the brooms that didn't look right. "Approach the table and do not touch anything," Vindictus said and closed the door behind him.

Amanda approached the table with six brooms on it, something about this seemed strange, she wasn't sure why but she had a feeling that she was going to get hurt. The brooms didn't look right to her, she couldn't pick out what was wrong with them but she kept her hands at her sides for the moment.

"Roll up your sleeves," Vindictus ordered and he walked around to the other side of the table. "The tail twigs of these school broomsticks have been contaminated with fuligo septica, which is also known as vomit slime. Don't inhale or else you'll end up puking all over your detention."

Amanda rolled up the sleeves of her robes, and just felt a tad sick to her stomach when she heard what was on the tail twigs of the broomsticks. What was she expected to do with this slug vomit on the broomstick? She only hoped that she didn't end up inhaling it, because she didn't feel like vomiting during her detention.

Vindictus sat two buckets on the floor beside Amanda. One was filled with water and the other with a bright pink cleaning solution that smelled like feet. Then he handed her a rag. "Dip the rag in the cleaning solution and squeeze out the excess cleaner. Wrap the rag around one twig and gently wipe the vomit slime from the twig. Rinse the rag in the water and then repeat the procedure until each twig is free of the fuligo septica. It will take you five rags per broom." A pile of clean rags appeared. "Begin."

Amanda took the rag that Professor Vindictus handed to her and dipped it into the bucket with the cleaning solution in it, then brought it up and squeezed the extra solution out of the rag. Very carefully, she wrapped the rag around one of the twigs and gently wiped off the slug vomit, then she rinsed the dirty rag in the bucket of water.

She repeated the process for the next twig, being very careful that she didn't break the twig or inhale the slug vomit. This was absolutely disgusting, course not as worse as what she dealt with last term, this was definately going to send shivers down her spine for the next few weeks.

A yellowish glow began to eminate from the first cleaned twig and yellowish fumes began to rise into the air. "Oh, man that reeks," Vindictus gasped and put a surgical mask on so that he wouldn't have to smell it. Even his eyes were watering. "You're not wiping the vomit slime completely off the twigs."

Amanda held her breath for a bit, the smell was awful. She suddenly felt really sick, but resisted the urge to vomit, she went back over and cleaned the slug vomit off of the twig. This was going to make her sick soon enough, she started to cough a bit but continued to clean the twig.

"At this rate, we're gonna be here all day," Vindictus said and rolled his eyes. "The fuligo septica multiplies, so its imperative that you are thorough in this task. When you finish a broom tell me so that I can remove it from the table."

Amanda was trying to resist the urge to vomit because it was becoming quite difficult now to hold it back. She finished that twig finally before moving onto the next twig, working faster yet still more careful. She continued the process of cleaning the twigs until she was done the first broom. "Professor, I finished the first broom" She said while getting a new rag ready for the tail twig on the 2nd broom.

Vindictus took the broom and with a wave of his wand, it vanished. "Now work on the next one."

Amanda started to work on the 2nd broom being quick about it this time, she continued the same process over and over, making sure to follow the steps properly and to clean off all of the slug vomit on each of the tail twigs. This was just disgusting, but she was learning her lesson not to break rules or else you'd have to suffer through something utterly horrible. She counted the rags she had used for this broom and there were 5 dirty rags, she finished this broom quickly. "I'm done with this broom Professor" She said, grabbing a new rag and dipping it into the cleaning solution.

Vindictus was about to say something when the second broom began to emit a mustard yellow vapor. He pulled the mask back over his mouth and nose. "Quick! Put those towels over the tail twigs," he said and his voice was slightly muffled. "The cleaner is reacting to a spot of vomit slime."

Amanda quickly put the towels over the tail twigs of the broom, and started to cough. How much worse could this detention possibly get? She always threw up twice from the slug vomit and now this.

Vindictus gagged. Dirty baby diapers smelled sweet compared to this. "Clean it up!" he gasped and used his wand to move the three untouched brooms out of the way. "You got it all over that broom and the next one you need to clean."

Amanda coughed again, her eyes were watering slightly from this horrid smell; this was just awful but she had to clean it before it got any worse. She grabbed the rag and cleaned off the broom, hoping that the yellow vapor would stop soon.

"Use a clean rag," Vindictus said through his face mask. "You're smearing the fungus."

Amanda prepared a clean rag, following the procedure; then she cleaned off the broom again, making sure to get off all the fungus.

It took the girl forever to clean up the one broom and Vindictus was getting irritated with her sluggishness. He walked over and picked it up, and leaned it against the wall. "You have one broom left."

Amanda prepared a new cloth and got to work on this broom, cleaning it so that all the fungus was off, she went through 5 cloths, making sure that she did the job properly this time so that there wasn't going to be any more yellow vapor coming.

With a flick of his wand, Vindictus made the broom disappear. His plan was for her to clean 6 brooms but because she worked slower than anticipated, he had to settle for three. He wasn't satisfied with her performance but he had another student to attend to in the Hooligan Hole. "I hate to say this, but the time alloted for your detention has come to an end. If I catch you doing anything illegal on the school grounds again, you can expect to be grounded for the term in lieu of detention. That means no flying or Quidditch. Understand?" he said firmly and crossed his arms.

"Yes I understand Professor." Amanda said seriously, looking at the professor and rolling her sleeves back down. She was happy now, no more detention, and she was going to follow the rules this time so she wouldn't be grounded for the rest of the term. She could actually earn back the points that she had lost since she decided to be stupid.

"You are dismissed," Vindictus said and held open the cell door for the Slytherin girl.
