"Erm," Jake looked up to Professor Truebridge. "Sure..." he nodded, looking around at the class and hoping for the lesser scary looking people to come on his side. He hadn't moved his hand yet, so he used his other hand to point at it. "You touch her right there," he said. "And you can feel her breathing."

Noticing that Kaika had stepped back, Jake decided to follow her example and stepped back so there was more space...

...not that it made much of a difference. ^^

"I know" Kayla agreed. "I can't believe how those Professor's are carrying on. You act more mature than they do." She picked up the bag, having placed the vials inside and handed them over to Professor Truebridge.

Oooh they were going to get to touch the dragon...awesome!! Kayla walked over to Kaika and Jake and stood quietly and waited patiently for her turn. This had been one of the best classes that she had been to. Almost as good as DADA, actually no this one was better.

"YAAAAAY!" Annie squealed excitedly, dodging around Kaika and Jake and anyone else in line to start stroking the scaly beast. "Teeheheheee it feels funny! Eheehee!" She dropped to one knee and stuck her ear against its belly, her head rising and falling slowly as the dragon breathed. "You...you can almost hear the ocean...."

Frankly speaking, Jane was AFRAID of the dragon. She's read about them in the books being all big and squishy and sitting in the clouds breathing fires...but she wouldn't imagine she'd actually see them up close.

Jane was just shaking.

"No kidding. And I'm a first year!" All the vials put away and Kayla giving them over to the professor, she made her way over to the dragon, excited that she would get to touch it. After all, nothing happened to the other students, right?

Cela chose to go to Jake's side and she grinned at him brightly, looking where he indicated before placing her hand without hesitation. Her eyes widened at the sensation. She. Was. Touching. A. Dragon!

"Wow!" Cela breathed, lifting her other hand to stroke the side of the dragon and looking at Jake in amazement when she realised she couldn't feel the breathing if she lifted her hands higher. Probably the scales were that strong and protective! From up close it was even more amazing, and Cela couldn't wrap her mind around the idea of seeing one fully grown. This one was about 8 feet, maybe a little more. And it would grow up to 15 feet? Wow!

"Thank's Jake." Cela told him cheerfully before returning to the benches and sitting to watch the others take their turns. Hmmm. She wondered if Professor Dumont had any more candy.

Oh. Dear. Lord.

That was it. That was all Kaika thought.

She fought the urge to roll her eyes, and giggled instead. No. You couldn't possibly be hearing the ocean. Because it was not a shell. But, she wasn't going to get into any arguments.

Except, that, "You should be gentle with the dragon" she said, right from her seating spot next to Miranda. Because she was not around the dragon anymore.

Maddox, lowly walked up to stand next to Kayla. This had to be the coolest moment of his life. He was actually going to get to touch a dragon. He turned and looked a Kayla grinning, and waited patiently for his turn.

Kayla stepped up beside Jake and reached out with her hand and gently ran her fingers over the scales of the Vipertooth. "You did an awesome job Jake, really not that scary is it?" she said giving him a smile. The texture was a lot smoother than she thought it would be and as much as she wanted to walk around the full length of the dragon she thought it best to just say where she was.

Not wanting to leave just yet but knowing other students were waiting there turn, she gave the Vipertooth a final stroke and then backed away. "Thanks Jakers." Kayla walked back to one of the benches and sat back down.

Ethan sighed as Professor Bunbury was a little over enthusiastic and immediately made his way around the dragon and stood behind Annie, reaching down and lifting her from under her arms. He carried her away from the dragon without saying anything and finally set her down. "Enough, Annie." He made a face and dug in his pocket for some candy, handing over some chocoballs. "You need to be gentle and calm and think." He looked at her sternly, "Want to try again? If you wait until the students leave..." Ugh he couldn't quite believe he was doing this, "I'll give you more chocolate and you can touch the dragon on your own." So that if she did something stupid and woke it up...

Okay, well, if he could live through sticking his hand in the thing's mouth, he could probably touch it. Right? Tobi let the memories of his actions, the few that he hadn't blocked out, bolster him enough to stand in line behind Maddox.

Whoa hwhut - whoaaaaaa now, whoa whoa, one second Bunny was listening to the dragon's stomach stuffs and the next she found herself floating away...or being carried, rather. Huh.

Too bad it wasn't the big ole exciting dragon carrying her away, it was just Zan. Meh. He was cool though and most importantly he had CHOKLITtttttt!

"Yum yum yum yum yummmmm," Annie bubbled, making grabbygimme hands for the chocoballs. She was one-hundred per-cent focused on the chocolate that she only half-heard his little compromising speech.

The redhead immediately stuffed one piece of the chocolate candy in her mouth and then tilted her head to blink at Truebridge a few times, trying to comprehend the words other than chocolate. "Sssho, I sith here n wait fur dem to be dun," she nodded in the direction of the petting line, "and yull lemme pet it on my ohhn?"

Abby stops sketching to watch Professors Trubridge and Bontecou milk the dragon's fang. She's never seen a dragon's fangs milked before. It's not much different than the way they milk snake's fang. Abby doesn't understand what's wrong with some of the professors. They sure seem to be eating a lot of candy. They act like their addicted to it. The teachers can't seem to finish chewing a Chocolate Frog before they'er poping another one in their. mouth. When Professors Bontecou and Truebridge get finished, Abby gets back to her drawing. She figures she'd better get it finished before she tries to pet the dragon. Abby's sure Professor Truebridge won't let anything happen to the student or teachers, but you never know with the way some of the teachers are acting. It's better I get my sketch finished just in case a hand or arm gets injured or singed. Abby looks around at the student's drawings. Oh dear, I must have let my imagination run wild. I drew a wide awake dragon. Everyone elses' dragons are asleep. I hope Professors Truebridge and Morgan don't deduct points because of a lack of realism in my drawing.[/I]

Herminny stayed back cause she did not want to get in trouble cause she was not sure if all meant all the students or all the people who helped him collect the venom.

Smiling at Celandine and then at Kayla as they thanked him, Jake tilted his head and gazed at the dragon-lady-girl thoughtfully. He had been terrified? Well... a small amount of fear was okay, but he didn't understand why he'd been scared out of his wits.

Looking round, Jake saw Cedric looking quite eager. "Here, Cedric," Jake beckoned him over. "Come feel her side, right here..." he placed his hand in exactly the same place as earlier. "Feel her breathing."

As Herminny saw other students who had not helped the professor collect the venom she felt it would probably be okay for her to touch the dragon as well. Thus Herminny slowly walked over to where the other students were touching the dragon hoping someone would tell her where she could pat the dragon as well.

"Exactly." Ethan agreed, handing her more chocolate and indicating for her to sit down and wait. He headed back to the dragon and watched the class take their turns.

ooc: We are pretty much done, I'm going to close the thread pretty soon and Lisa will reopen it when she gets on tomorrow so you can all finish RPing petting the dragon and she can assign homework.

Noticing someone else out of the corner of his eye, Jake beckoned the girl forwards. "Erm, Herminny, was it? Well, in a sec, touch her side right here," Jake said again, pressing ever-so-gently so Herminny could see. He couldn't really believe he had been so terrified before and had ended up showing people this, as bold as ever. Jake smiled up at the dragon. "Not so bad after all."

Things were funny sometimes and time had a way of working out even the teensiest details. As she sat there, stroking NifflerNeo's fur, the solution to the problem she'd been pondering all term, suddenly came to. She smiled and scratched him behind the ear, hoping that when this was all finally worked out, she would have made a friend in Masterson instead of an enemy. With a final pat on the head, Iliana laid him on the ground with his new toy and walked up to the front next to Ethan.

"If you have not yet had your chance to pet the dragon, please come up now to do so."

It was hard keeping up with venom harvesting when he was STANDING SO CLOSE TO A REAL LIFE FIRE BREATHING DRAGON! Clifford found he kept staring at those ma-HOOOO-sive fangs and getting distracted, he tried to keep up with his job of putting outer lids on the containers with Copernicus though.

And now they were allowed to PET it? SQUEEEE!!!!1

Excited, but nervous at the same time, Clifford moved closer to the Peruvian Vipertooth and ran his fingertips lightly over the copper-coloured, smooth scales. Whoooaaa.

Kiri had her arms slung tightly around her body as if she were hugging herself. Why had she ever thought that a unicorn was scary? Her heart was thumping so hard in her chest that she was certain the dragon would hear it and wake up. Her mouth was very dry, but she duly shuffled forward as student after student had their turn at touching the dragon.

Vanessa felt slightly worried, as she lined up with the other students who were moving forward to pet the Dragon. She had thought that the marvellous creature had looked rather tall from afar, but not she was up close, she felt even more like a midget. At least she wouldn't be the only one, the dragon was taller than everyone!
It was nearly her turn now, and she was feeling a little excited now. She'd never seen a Dragon before, and she probably wouldn't again, so she better not bottle out when it was her turn.

She waited in line, smiling until it was her turn, and then she stepped up to the Dragon, slowly, still feeling a little worried. She touched, petting, the Dragon carefully, trying to make her touch as soft as possible, she wouldn't have liked to be stroked hard! When she had finished she moved out of the way, so that everyone else could have a go.

They get to pet the dragoon! Oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh! Miranda gave a squeal, gave a rather mad look towards Kaika and rushed off to get in line.

The dragon still looked very sweet sleeping there, it would be so awesome if it actually woke up! They could become best friends! Squeeeee!

Oh! The line was moving fast now and soon Miranda was standing right infront of the dragon. The pretty copper colored dragon that just seemed to gloooow in the sun... Don't drift off, pet it! Right!
A bit nervous, Miranda reached out and gently stroked the dragon. Oh it was rather smooth, those textbooks did not lie! A big smile crept onto her face as she kept on petting it. "You are so pretty..." she said quietly, "Thankyou for letting me pet you Ms. Copper Dragon!" she whispered and scuttled off to her seat again. Sweeeeeeeeeet!

Looking up at the Slytherin girl he'd met a few times, Kiri was it? Anyway, looking up at her, Jake gave an uneasy smile. "She ain't as bad as she seems at first," he said, referring to his earlier freak out episodes. But she's DANGEROUS... "Come on... her side... right here... lookit-"

Jake rested his hand on the scales in the right place and added the tiniest amount of pressure, feeling his hand go up and down. Awwwww... so soothing. He grinned again and looked up.
