Chris raised his hand. "Dragin heartstring is used as the core to some wands."

Maddox raised his hand and replied, "Well, dragons eggs, though they are class A non-tradeable goods, have been sold and traded. The eggshells of the chinese fireball are extremely sought after for potions ingredients." Sometimes, he felt like a big nerd, and this was one of those times.

Blossom listened as other students said there answers. She frowned as Chris, a 2nd year, said the one she had already said and hopefully not one another person had said. She hoped that she could finally get some points for her house!!

Taking the opportunity to get a good look at her up close, Iliana tried her hardest to read the pretty professor's expression. When she was positive that her behavior just had to be part of some elaborate practical joke, Iliana smiled and walked back over next to Ethan.

OHEMGEEEEE. The professor had just handed Annie not one but TWO chocolate frogs. AHA! See, she was a genius waaaaay smater than the other kids. Hahaheehaha.

She unwrapped the frogs right away and stuffed them both in her mouth at the same time. Mmmm SUGAH! IN MAH MOUF!

Then she remembered that she wanted to share a frog or two with the dragon....whups, guess I'll just hafta answer anudder question...meh...

Annie watched, with puffed out chipmunk cheeks, as Zan wandered off to the forest. "Muhhledwagen?" she muttered, nudging the closest student to her - Madeline Darcy or something like that. "WUUK!" the redhead pointed, first to Zan and then to Professor Morgan.

Miranda's head jerked up from her near slumber as Professor Truebridge mentioned preparations and walked out of the classroom.
Ooohweeeeee! They were going to see the dragoooon! Yaaaay!

Miranda raised her hand at the question made by Professor Morgan
"Miss," Or Mrs? Errr... "Professor, the skin of the Swedish Short Snout is very valuable because they make gloves and shields out of it." she nodded.

"Ok class, bear with me, there is still one more topic to go over before we head out to see the dragon. As I am sure you all know, many useful materials come from the parts of dragons. I want each of you to look in your textbooks and give me one example of a dragon part and its uses."

OOC: I will be gone for awhile but am leaving this thread open. Keep the chatter to a minimum if you want to see the dragon. Prefects, please keep an eye on the class. =)

Raiden raised his hand tentatively. "Uhm, Miss Professor Morgan... the horn of the Romanian Longhorn dragon is used in potions. They crush it up and powder it, and then it can be used in a lot of different potions, I think." He paused. "I guess it's possible that other dragons who have horns or talons or stuff like that... they might be useful in potions too, wouldn't they?"

ooc: Source? Half Fantastic Beasts, half brain power. woot?

Alessia looked over at The Bunny Woman... GOOD QUESTION. She was on the edge of her seat, waiting for the answer... Now she needed another chocolate frog so she could feed it to the dragon... She tapped Dumont's back and gave him her best i'm-so-cute-give-me-more-chocolate-please look.

"That's right, Kiri. Dragon heartstrings, very good."

She knew several more answers but she had the common courtesy to give other students a chance to answer unlike a certain Ravenclaw girl in the class who was starting to get on her nerves but she decided she would stay cool calm and collected anyway cause it was the best she could do cause she learned she can't change people, she had already tried that, it ended in disaster.

"Yes Herminny, the hide. The gloves that we use in my lessons are made of dragon hide. It has many uses, great answer."

"It has 12 magical uses. I think it's used in some potions, but I don't know what the uses are." Miles shrugged and lowered his hand.

"Yes Miles, that is correct. Good answer."

Iliana laughed. Leave it to Clifford to called out DUNG. Haha. "Thank you, Clifford. Correct."

The scales were used as chain-mail in the middle ages and the skin is used for various types of gloves." She explained.

"Wonderful answer, Paris, very good. The venom is a very powerful ingredient. Thank you."

The bladder was put atop a twenty foot high pole, and certain players would try and reach the bladder in an effort to puncture it with their broomsticks." Anna made a disgusted face just thinking about puncturing a bladder with a broomstick. "Isn't that disgusting, Professor? Poor dragons!" she exclaimed.

Iliana gave her a sad smile and nodded. "Its not only disgusting but true, Anna. Of all the ways to entertain themselves..." She trailed off, shaking her head.

"Those are both good answers, Kayla. Thank you."

Professor Morgan tapped the board again and more note appeared.

Iliana tilted her head at Bunbury and stood very still. "Umm... well Anastasia no, dragons typically stick to plants and other animals. Though I find that students love them. And it would seem, professors are quite fond of them too." She said seriously. The joke had gone on long enough. She gave Less and Annie a pleadingly look and then closed her eyes sorrowfully.

Looking back at the class, Iliana clapped her hands together and announced what they all had been dying to hear. "Alright class, gather your things together and follow me. We've got a date with a dragon." With that said, she picked up the basket of wands and started her way towards the Forbidden Forest.

OOC: Please forgive me for being away so long. I've had some unforeseen issues at home. Thank you ALL for being so patient. <33

Clifford felt a little sorry for poor Professor Morgan. All the other Professors seemed to have invaded her awesome lesson and were being totally SILLY! They weren't meant to be silly! They were grown-ups! Grown-ups were meant to be BORING!

OOOH! But it was dragon time! That was good, Clifford had been sitting next to Anna Greingoth for faaar to long.

Flinging his rucksack over his shoulder, Clifford hurried forward, following Professor Morgan. "I hope you're not gonna let any of us get eaten, ma'am." He joked, with a shaky laugh.

... he was suddenly feeling rather nervous.

Antarctica 03-29-2009 08:39 PM

And now it was time to see the dragon... Kiri swallowed heavily, a worried look on her face. Answering questions had managed to distract her, but her imagination took over again. The two professors looked quite confident, though, so she picked up her bag and followed them (at a distance), clasping the strap of her bag like a lifeline.

RachieRu 03-29-2009 08:41 PM

Ooh...It was Dragon time Yeey. Although she was feeling slightly apprehensive. The dragon wouldn't breath fire at them really? Quickly packing her stuff back into her bag, she stood up and followed Professor Morgan.
"Erm...Professor Morgan...is this Dragon like reaallly tall?" She asked, it sounded like a stupid question, but she really wanted to know if she was going to feel like a midget.

Jojogali 03-29-2009 09:36 PM

Joanne felt her insides party as she heard the professor's final words. She began following her very excited right after Clifford. She her his question to the teacher and giggled quietly. She looked at her surroundings, she had been there, in the forbidden forest, very few times since she entered Hogwarts. Mainly because it's forbidden, and then because it's dangerous. She tried to hear a breathing or something " Professor, some dragons expel fire right? Don't they do it while they are like.. snoring ?"

Pfffffwhaaat? What was this? Dragons didn't like chocolate? Since WHEN? Hullo! Lies.

Annie frowned and swallowed the rest of her choklit, wiping her face on her sleeve when she was done. Her ears just barely picked up two facts - 1) Dragons didn't like chocolate and 2) THEY WERE GUNNA SEE IT NOWWWWWW!

"OHEMGEEYAY!" Anastasia bounced out of her chair and clapped her sticky hands together, eagerly following Professor Morgan. Maybe the professor lady hadn't tried to feed a dragon just yet, so maaaaybe she didn't even know if they liked chocolate or not. Yeah yeah, that had to be it.
