Miles raised his hand, grinning at the lickle foal. "Unicorn babeh's don't mind guys being close to them, and they're gold looking. They are also smaller and cuter tha adult unicorns." He hunched his shoulders and smiled.

Jack made a face at Morgan and moved a little to the left, he didn't move too far, he glared at Jack and smirked again "Yes professor" he grinned

Jack shuffled a little closer to Jake as he relaxed and smirked at him

Jack turned to the foal and stared at it, absoloutely disgusted by it, he shivered and gave it a dirty look "It's a thing and it's not fully grown" he answered.

Herminny raised her hand and said a little queesy but held it back and said, "Like I said before the cute little baby unicorn does not have a horn which is clear to see on this little girl". Herminny then reached out her hand to pet the cute little baby unicorn and it turned it's head away from her and then Herminny added, "It seems baby unicorns are a little timid and shy but that does make sense, it's not used to too much human interaction just yet".

Tobi raised his hand again, a six month old unicorn was less threatening still, "Kimber won't grow a horn until about for years, so none of us are in danger of being gored by her for about 3 and a half years."

Awww. Unicorns! Melanie had sort of thought of them as a sort of girly thing because, well, they weren't considered real before. They were only pretty made up horses.

But now that she knew they were real: Totally different story. The unicorn looked so beautiful and it was a bright white. White was normally such a boring color but it looked reeeally pretty. Melanie wanted to reach out and stoke it, but didn't dare because the professor hadn't okayed it.

Annnd they were moving onto foals. They were gold and pretty looking too. Wow she had to pay attention, and stop rambling in her thoughts. Melanie's hand shot up in the air. "They're really pretty, and gold. Oh, and they're smaller." she answered hopefully.

Clifford couldn't help but glare at that Plymouth dude, who wa lucky enough to reieve a chocolate frog. Now THAT was not fair. Hmpf. He'd have to give an extra speshul answer to get one o' those too.

Unicorns were just so gross.

"Well, ma'am.. baby unicorns are.. smaller." Oh yes, Clifford was a genius.

Rachel looked at the unicorns with an amazed look in her eyes. She had of course, read about them in various books but she had never actually seen them up close. They're so beautiful... Snapping out of her reverie, she listed to the professor's question and smiled slightly as she raised her hand and said, "Unicorn foals are golden as we can see here with little Kimber and they don't have a horn yet."

Reese looked at the unicorns then thought.What makes them look different?Geez,that's easy.One is a different color then the other.Also,one has a horn the other doesn't. She raised her hand then said, "One is gold,Professor.And,Professor,the younger unicorn doesn't have a horn,yet.It's too young to have a horn." She smiled at the Professor as he lowered her hand.

Abby raises her hand. "Kimber is gold in color and doesn't have a horn. She will turn silver when she's about two years old and then white when she's about seven years old. Kimber will be full grown by then. She won't grow a horn until she's about four years old about the only thing Kimber has in common with Calpurnia is they both have gold hoofs. One more thing, Kimber is adorable."

Cale looked at the baby unicorn, taking in the obvious differences before raising his hand. "Well, the biggest difference is the color--right now the baby unicorn is gold, but will eventually mature to the white coat. Foals also don't have horns, and they're noticeably smaller than the adult as well."

Ana raised her hand "Well they are pure gold and at the age of 2 they turn silver and go throughout a lot of colours. And he has no horn yet." she started "Oh and they are more trusting."

Plymouth caught his chocolate frog. He looked around to see who else had witnessed the Professor's blatant flirting of him. He pocketed the chocolate frog for later. Maybe he and the Professor could share over chocolate milk later...


He raised his hand. "The biggest difference I see is that I have this overwhelming urge to HUG that little one. The other I'd be afraid of him gnawing my ear off or something with his big square teeth, but that little gold critter there - I sure do want to hug it. It's unbelievably cute."

Anna raised her hand and said, "A foal differs from an adult unicorn in that foals are golden, not pure white. The pure white color doesn't come until a foal has achieved a certain age level, which I believe is four-years-old. Also, foals do not have a horn on the top of their head. This, too, will only come with age." Anna put her hand back by her side and then observed the baby foal. It was so little and cute, but she also knew that unicorns were very difficult animals to catch. She'd never pet a real unicorn before, either. Maybe Professor Morgan would allow them to pet Kimber!

Kayla raised her hand, "A baby unicorn is gold in colour, turns silver before finally turning white when it reaches maturity. They as we can see are hornless and are more trusting of boys than their adult counterparts." That's because they soon learn what boys are like she thought.

Copernicus raised his hand. "Professor, I think its interesting to note that while horse foals are often shy and unwilling to leave their mothers, unicorns foals are actually bolder than the adult mare. That is, I suppose, if you consider their acceptance of boys to be a sign of greater boldness." He shrugged. Perhaps it was a stretch.

The professor nodded her head in turn to each student's answer. "Excellent! Very good class. Two points to each of you." She said, enthusiastically.
When she heard John's response, her smile quickly disappeared. "Thank you John for your concern but I don't believe the topic of today's lesson is my behavior. Now, if there's something you'd like to discuss with me that's not unicorn-related, you will need to meet with me AFTER class." She said, indifferently. There wouldn't be another warning.
Professor Morgan stared incredulously, watching Jack's little dance back and forth across the dirt floor. Did he think she was stupid and wouldn't notice or just blind and couldn't see? "Jack is there a problem?" She asked. Instead of allowing him to answer she raised her hand in the air and quickly said, "You know, no one's forcing you to be here, Jack. If you'd like to go, you're more than welcomed to." She said. Disrespect had no place in her classroom.
Turning to look at Willie, Professor Morgan limped over to him and gave him a little frown. "I'm so sorry Willie, forgive me?" She asked, batting her eyelashes at him angelically. "Your's was an excellent answer as well. Here you go." She said, giving him TWO chocolate frogs and a smile.
Professor Morgan laughed out loud and shook her head at Plymouth. "While I don't share your fear of Calpurnia's teeth, I certainly share your urge to hug Kimber. And right around the neck too, right?!" She said. "Though for now, we're going to give them their space and allow them to get used to us." Touching the unicorns would come later.
That is a very good point, Copernicus!" She cheered, tossing him his own frog from her chocolately stash. "And you're right. Without Kimber here today, you boys might not ever get a chance to approach one."

"Okay class, so far we've learned that Unicorns are powerful magical creatures. Adult unicorns are bright white with long slender legs, golden hooves and a pearly-white mane. Their horns and tail hairs are commonly used in potion. Also, Unicorns prefer a woman's touch." She reiterated. "Unicorn foals are pure gold. They turn silver when they're about two years old. They grow horns at around age four. And they're fully grown and turn pure white around age seven."

"Now is there anyone here that can describe the appearance of the Eastern Unicorn which appears in Chinese mythology? What is it known as?" She asked.

"Well. The Easten Unicorn seems to have many different forms, but mostly it's appearance is of a body of a deer, a tail of an ox, the hooves of a horse, and a single short horn appearing from the centre of the forehead" Vanessa spoke as she raised her hand.

Jack shook his head and then looked around, understanding that he was being kicked out of the lesson, he ran to the door and slipped out of it, he slammed it shut behind him and went up to the school again, cursing under his breath.

EEEEEEP!!!! Unicorns were pretty! Really, really pretty and Evangeline had a hard time tearing her eyes away from them in order to reply to Professor Morgan's question. "The Eastern Unicorn has existed in Chinese mythology for thousands of years, Professor." The Prefect started after raising her hand. "It has many forms, but in its most usual, it has the body of a deer, the tail of an ox, the hooves of a horse, and a single short horn growing out of the middle of its forehead.." She couldn't help but to giggle. That looked strangely .. cute. "OOOH! And the hair at its back as five colours, which is totally awesome if you ask me."

Becca raised her hand once again and spoke, "Um, the Eastern Unicorn can appear in a few different forms. I think the most familiar one is a beast with the body of a deer, the tail of an ox, the hooves of a horse, with one short horn growing out of the middle of its head like the unicorn we know, right?"

She paused only for a moment to gather her thoughts. "Its hair on its mane has five colors to represent the five 'sacred'," she made quotation marks with her fingers to emphasize, "Chinese colors... which are red, yellow, blue, white, and black. The hair on its belly is usually yellow, I think. And sometimes, it even has green scales like a dragon!"

Willow had been quite throughout the entire class. Which wasn't surprising, because she didn't much about unicorns. Actually, she didn't know ANYTHING about Unicorns--or any other animal, for that matter.

Except she did know the answer to the question Professor Morgan had asked. Blinking a little in shock at this, the girl raised her hand and said, "Well, apparently they could live thousands of years, "Which was yet another proof that animals were not only evil, but freaky as well. . "And that they avoid fighting, and--" Professor Morgan had asked about the PHYSICAL appareance, and she was getting off track. Ugh. She started again. "The Eastern Unicorn's horn is around twelve feet long, Professor, and it is also described as a pretty great unicorn that radiates different colours." And that was it for her knowledge about Unicorns.

Well, even if she would never admit it, Willow had to admit that they were rather lovely. To look at, that is.

Staring at the ground and using his foot to try and bore a hole in it, Jake shifted a little to the side, away from the threatening boy and closer to Professor Morgan. She was a very comforting presence at that time, and he tried to ignore both of the twins. Hearing her next question, Jake's head snapped straight up, making him wince a little, something he quickly managed to cover up by screwing up his eyes in concentration. He'd seen... something... There was a book he'd seen, and he remembered it because-

"It's got lots of colours?" Jake asked, hand raised. He was a big fan of colourful things, so he hoped he wasn't wrong.

Wow. What a coincidence? Doing some random reading in his book, Professor Morgan asked a question of the same page he was reading along to. Sure, he didn’t personally know too much about the creature but he figured he could explain it to the class… maybe.

Curt raised his hands, and gave his answers… hoping it was right. Creatures wasn’t his, errr, forte. “You see, the Eastern Unicorn has been around for thousands of years. And can,” He took a glimse down at his textbook, “Appear in many different forms. Mostly being that with, uhh,” he squinted at the words, “body of a deer, tail of an ox, hooves of a horse, and small horn growing from the middle of it’s forehead.” Deciding to stop reading directly from the book, his greys eyes shifted up to Professor Morgan.

“It’s called Kilin. Some sort of combination of Chinese words which mean male and female unicorn.” Curt furrowed his brow, stole the tinest of glances from his textbook, and wend on. “It is one of the purest creatures on earth, if not THE purest. And is seen as a good omen….” He was running out of things to say, “They live for thousands of years.” He looked at his book again and decided to call it quits. “And there’s more, but I think that is a ok summary.”

Anna raised her hand and said, "The Eastern Unicorn, which has been a part of Chinese mythology for thousands of years, appears in many different forms, actually. We're most familiar with it appearing as a beast with the body of a deer, the tail of an ox, the hooves of a horse, and a horn growing out of the middle of its forehead. The Eastern Unicorn is also a representation of the five sacred Chinese colors, in that the hair on the back of its neck is red, yellow, blue, white, and black, with the hair on its belly being yellow. It's also been known to have green scales like a dragon." Ewwww, that sounded kind of...strange. Shrugging, Anna continued.

"It's known as the Kilin, which is a combination of Ki, the male unicorn, and Lin, the female unicorn. It's also pretty much a vegetarian, being that it will eat only plant life. The Kilin is one of the four superior animals of good omen. These animals foretell the future and represent the basic elements of life," she said.

Melanie was delighted to get the question right and two points for her house as well. However she got a bit depressed as she watched the other Ravenclaw boy and then a Huffie get a chocolate frog. A chocolate chocolate frog...

Melanie raised her hand to take a guess at the professer's question as she truly had absolutely no clue what the whosy-whatsy the professer was talking about, but she could still guess right? The two words that stuck out in her head ere chinese and mythology sooo...

"Was it like known as the dragon unicorn?" she half-answered, half-asked. "Or the New year unicorn? Or- or um the Was it red OoOo and maybe yellow too, they remind me of china for some weird reason. They could be like a bunch of colors. That would rock..." she blabbed cheerfully.
