Cam raised one particular odd and black eyebrow when Jake started to mention something about making badges. He knew exactly what the guy was talking about and chuckled when he finally realized that they were suppose to talk as partners for the group conversation thingy. "What... Snidget feather in a wand?!" Taking a long silence he finally spoke. "WHOAH, DUUUUDE. That is totally awesome!"

Looking around he met the eyes of the 6th year Ravenclaw. Karma. He remembered when she abandoned him at the lake but luckily for heer... he forgave her. "KARMIEE!" he said with a smile and motioned her to come towards them.

"OK, here's what I think. Hm... So breeding is a good idea! But I think we should permanently protect their habitats either if they're in the reserves or maybe in the wild. That would mean we have to take care of the environment, right?"

Tobi smiled lopsidedly. Most people commented on his gargantuan height. It was kind of hard to miss. He didn't know too much about creatures, but he knew a LITTLE bit about political upheaval and lobbying.

"Um, well, my great grandmother was alive during the 1960s. Just barely. But she told me that her mother carried her on Marches and brought her to Sit Ins." Tobi explained. He tried not to picture his great great grandmother Avalon as a freeloving hippie. It freaked him out.

"So maybe we could have a March. It would be really effective because they would be afraid of exposing us to Muggles. Less agressive would be to have a sit in, like at the School, or if we really wanted their attention, in the middle of The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures."

Mads suddenly realized that he was in care of magical creatures class, and wasnt staring at an angel. That was his professor. He shook his head a bit to come out of the stooper, and checked to make sur ehe wasnt drooling. Thankfully he wasnt. He shook it off a bit and decided to answer her question.

Mads raised his hand and replied, "Well, we always need to make sure that magical creautres are taken care of and maintained in a healthy way. Especially those of which are in the wild. We have to make sure that muggles do not see them. Also, we need to make sure that we keep the earth clean. Not just normal animals get harmed by litter. The magical ones do as well." He hoped his answer was good, and suddenly felt foolish, hoping he didnt look stupid infront of the extremely gorgeous professor.

Zeke walked over to Tobi and the girl he'd been talking to - he was in need of people to discuss with, and he hoped they didn't mind that he'd chosen them. "Hey, Tobi," he said. "Hi," he said to the girl. "I'm Zeke." He nodded as he listened to what Tobi was saying. "Yeah. That makes sense. I've heard of all that stuff before. Like getting the Ministry's attention to the problem at hand."

"Ecololology?" Jake asked. He wasn't sure what that meant, but tried again. "Erm, stop sports which have animals involved, like quidditch did? And, like, leave the forests and that. Because it's their environment isn't it? And the more you keeell- i mean, the more you kill their habitat, the less protection and places they have to live, so other animals can kill them... oh and predators would find them."

Jake looked over to this so called KARMIEE! and noted the new face to add to his list memory. "Hey, Cameron, here's an idea," he said, shaking his head. "Next lesson, you can gouge my eyes out, to go with my burst eardrums."

"But, what the Ministry could do..." Jake pondered. "Special departments or divisons for each creature. I've never understood the difference. It also raises the amount of jobs, so then if people have jobs, they wouldn't hunt for animals to sell... and the divisions would be in charge of certain areas of the world in regards to the creatures?"

Jake shrugged. "I got nothing."

Hmmm, this got Agie thinking. "I don't think there are that many. In fact, I think we need more general animal reservations. We can even try and set one up for here. Also we have to think about the environment. If it is an dirty and unsafe environment, there is more of a chance of creatures becoming endangered. So maybe we can have a clean up day. Where everyone apparates down and helps. Just by picking up a little bit of rubbish each." Agie didn't mind the planning, but she wasn't going to be picking up rubbish! No way!

"What about bigger fines and harsher punishments?" Agie also suggested.

Karma watched Maddox make a fool of himself by staring. She giggled, and rolled her eyes. Boys will be boys. Even when they do tick her off.

"Don't get too lost in her eyes," Karma whispered as she walked by. "You never know what might happen."

She winked, and walked over to her 'brother'.

"Caaaaaaaaaaam," Karma said, opening her arms and pulling him in a hug. "Alright. Let's see here. What exactly were you two planning on doing?"

She looked at the other boy Cam was with. She had seen him before somewhere, and it probably was in another class or just around the halls. She smiled.

"Hi there. I'm Karma. And no, I don't bite."

She racked her brain for a moment as she began to recall what Professor Morgan had said in class. Any magical creature. And how to protect them?

1960's? Wow. That had a been a LONG time ago. Also, she did not have the faintest idea what Sit Ins was. A muggle thing, no doubt, for the name itself didn't ring any bells. But then, it wasn't like she knew a lot about Wizarding History, because books didn't really appeal to her. How Ravenclaw of her. . . Not.

Assuming that the Sit Ins business had to be a march only because of Tobi's following comment, Willow chewed on her bottom lip for a moment, before nodding thoughtfully. "That is actually a really good idea. It could work" Not that she cared about Magical Creatures or anything, but he was smart--even if he was a boy. "Also, we could write a letter to the Minister of Magic complaining about it. You know, the guy is not really a very good minister, but about two terms ago, two Slytherin girls wrote a letter to him complaining about certain things, and he listened to them. " Stupid little letter. Only reason why Slytherin had almost won the House cup. "But then, that could have been because he was a Slytherin during his time at Hogwarts. . ." Which completely disregarded her previous comment. There was a huge chance that Brennan Cooper would just ignore their letter.

"What about writing an article for the Prophet? Or telling someone of the Prophet to write an article about it? That way everyone would know about it." Hmmm.

Anna nodded and continued to pet Vincent as she listened to Agie explain her thoughts about protecting magical creatures. "Oh, I think it'd be fun to set up general animal reservations! They'd be set up very similar to their natural habitats, so it'd be like the animals have never been taken from their homes," Anna said. "I think it's important to make sure the animals never feel as if they've been captured. The only difference between their natural habitat and a reservation would be that the reservation would be protected, so no one could harm them."

Anna thought carefully about what her friend was saying. "Clean up day...I never thought about that," she said. "It's true that sometimes humans unintentionally harm the creatures by leaving behind all types of rubbish." Anna glanced down at Vincent, still wondering why people would wish to harm innocent creatures. "I bet people would get really scared if bigger fines and harsher punishments were put in place! What do you think they should do as part of their punishment?" she asked.

Allie looked around the room, trying to find someone who wasn't already in soem deep discussion about magical creatures extinction stuff. She sighed, thinking it was hopeless.

"I'm..." ohno... what name? WHO AM I?! "Jake... And I could bite if you prodded me hard enough." He probably looked a right numpty, as if he'd forgotten his name or something. But, he'd just had to decide between reciting his full name or nickname. Plus, WHAT was that about biting. Pfft, she started it."And I'm not too good with discussions in class..."

Ok, all randomness achieved, Jake went on. "I think I said a bunch of things... but what does ecololology mean?"

Jake looked out to the forest. "Basically, me and Cameron think protecting the environment?" And I phrased that as a question, because...?

Agie nodded listening to Anna's thought. She was getting hungry, so her attention was starting to slip. She continued to pat Vincent, while she thought of the yummy food in the great hall.

"What about community service. Or sent them to Azkaban." She snickered. " oh and the fines could go towards setting up to reservation."

Mads stiffened when a female voice whispered in his ear. He grinned and looked to see that Karma was the culprit. He gave her smirk and stuck out his tounge. "Get to work." He smirked and turned away from her.




Just then Mads saw Allie. She was Astrid's best friend, other then himself. He saw that she didnt have a partner and was down about it. He smiled and walked up to her. "Hey Allie. Need a partner? Seems no one wants to b mine." He smiled and sat down before she could answer.

"I like that idea too, it wouldn't involve the sheer numbers that a march or sit in would, which is a nice thing." Tobi wasn't much of a leader, so if someone wanted to have any type of rally-type activity, he was not the person to set in charge, but writing something he could handle.

He noticed Zeke making his way over to them, maybe Zeke was a leader? Oh! Willow could be the leader, she was a Quidditch Captain for criminy sakes!

"Hey, Zeke," Tobi waved him to sit down, "we have three ideas so far, a march, a sit in, or writing something for the daily prophet-slash-getting someone to write something for the prophet. What do you think? Do you have any ideas?"

Allie smiled as Mads walked over to her.
"Yes I do!" she said, in her cheerful voice. "Now what do you think about this magical creature problem?"

"Hmmm. Well, there's always the good fallback: raising money. If we could get everyone to donate just a little bit of money, in the end we'd probably have enough to make more reservations or something," Zeke said with a shrug. He wasn't very good at this whole brainstorming thing.

Looking up at the sound of yet another voice, Willow found herself looking at some Gryffindor boy with bright red hair. "Hello," greeted the girl cordially, but not feeling quite comfortable with being surrounded by two boys. "I'm Willow."


"Maybe, but the Ministry would definitely feel the pressure with the march. I mean, they do not want muggles to know about us, do they?" As much as Willow liked Muggles, she didn't want the non-magical population to know about them. She could just imagine that they would most likely see them --though she was mostly concerned about herself, naturally-- as freaks. She shuddered delicately. And then, something else hit her. . . As much as the march was a good idea, it could get them into trouble. And a pretty big trouble at that. "You know... I don't think the Ministry would be happy if we march," Willow began, "They would probably claim that we are putting the entire wizarding population in danger of being discovered by muggles. You know, the International Statute of Secrecy and all. . ."

Hmm. They had a predicament now.

Maddox chuckled at her response and thought for a moment. "Well, like i said before our magical creatures take a lot of watching. So we would need someway to protect them from muggle eyes right?" He smiled and looked at her. She reminded him a bit of Astrid. He missed her terribly. She was the only person in this world that truely understood him. Like the sister he never had. "The best way to do that would be to make a specific reservation where we set up enchantments that make muggles flee. What do you think?" He smiled.

Cam accepted the hug which he usually didn't do to people but he was basically like a bodyguard to her! Good thing he hadn't seen that Chase anywhere around the class since that guy basically liked her! He wasn't accepting that at all. Looking back towards Jake, he clapped for him when he actually mentioned a sarcastic joke which followed a thumbs up. Woohoo, go Jakeeeee!

"Right, our idea is trying to protect the environment. Most wizards would think that since this is a magical world, then they wouldn't have to worry. They should realize it's just like the muggle world, meaning we shouldn't just litter on the ground," he said explaining to Karma and Jake, "Maybe planting a tree or building a bird bath might help."

He eyed the two while thinking and thinking. "OOH! Right so let's take the centaurs for example. They're technically beings but oh well. They don't like trespassers to their colony or whatever it's called. It's basically like saying we shouldn't disturb the a creature's environment."

"The giant squid that resides here in our lake could be another. He's nice to students since we're nice to him, right?"

Copernicus overheard Agie and Anna chatting about the assignment, and he just had to contribute. "If the goal of those who kill protected animals is to sell their parts on the black market, then setting harsher punishments makes a lot of sense. But not just stopping at the poachers, but at anyone caught in possession of or selling those items. If they have no one to sell to, the demand on those items goes way down. Maybe we could get involved through a letter writing campaign to the Ministry."

Hannah walked over to the group her brother was talking with. "Hey, guys," she said. "I'm Hannah," she introduced herself with a smile to the girl. "Willow, was it? Nice to meet you," She'd already met Tobi, and obviously she knew Zeke as they were siblings. "So what have you guys come up with? I've been trying to brainstorm things on my own, but they're not very good... Which is where you all come in." she said with a grin.

Jake stared at Cameron as the boy started insanely clapping on his own, like a seal. Then, in retrospect, Jake realised he'd been sarcastic without really realising. Grrrrr... he had been spending too much time with the evil huffies certain people.

"Centaurs are beings, not technically. They're alive, right? They have a will of their own?" Jake asked. "I don't think I can really say much on this topic, I don't know of many magical creatures or places, to be perfectly honest," Jake shrugged. "But, like breeding, and leaving the habitats and environemts," Jake agreed, nodding.

"That's also good," Tobi encouraged. "The only thing we would want to make sure is that if we raised money and then handed it over to The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, they actually used it to build a reservation, and not something stupid, like get new desks and a fresh coat of paint for the conference room."

Okay so Tobi was a bit cynical about the Ministry. He didn't have much of a chance there. They had really only ever meddled with his family and never done them much good as far as he could see.

Tobi thought about that one, how did his great great grandmother, a 'full blood witch and proud of it thank you very much' go marching with with a bunch of other wizards and witches?

"Well we could go in Muggle clothing. It would only be a little dodgy, because some of us would inevitably foul up, and also a few Muggles would be running up and marching with us for the sake of it, not knowing what we're hollering about. But to them A Snidget or an Augury is a clever acronym or a nonsense word. Still, it's just enough to shake up the Ministry."

"Hi Hannah," Tobi greeted her, "Well so far we've got having a March, a Sit In, getting something printed in the Prophet, or Raising Money for a reservation."

"Oh, hey, Han," Zeke said to his sister. "Well, we've got a sit-in, march, etting someone to write something for the daily prophet, or a fundraiser. You got anything?"

"That's true. They can be a bit... dodgy, I suppose. They tell you they'll do one thing and then do another. We could give it to a private organization, perhaps? ARE there private organizations for that kind of thing?" Zeke said.

"I think it's more likely that they'd get commmunity service, although anyone who harms a magical creature really deserves Azkaban," Anna replied. She looked down at Vincent and cuddled him closer to her. He was soft, cuddly, and oh-so-cute. "Hey...I really like this bird! I wonder if the professor would let me have him," Anna jokingly said. She doubted the professor would just give up her pet like that, but if she happened to ever want to, Anna wouldn't object to becoming the new owner. "Oh, you know what? I've heard that muggles have people called game wardens, who patrol the woods to make sure no one is harming the animals. Maybe we could magical game wardens to patrols our forests?" she suggested.
