Sarah sat listening to all the others answer the question, scribbling down the information until she got a question she knew the answer to herself.
Raising her hand she said.. "Because of the shape of it's wings the Snidget was really agile in flight, meaning it could change direction quickly.Barberus Bragge was the first person to use one in a quidditch match, offering 150 Galleons to the person that caught it."

Karma spotted a Slytherin she recognized. Whats his name. The blonde kid. The one who freaked out on her. Dugo? No, that's not right. HUGO. Or, as she called him behind his back, Spazzers.

Her eyes narrowed slightly, and then turned to look at Emiliano. She smiled, and awaited the next question.

"At a quiditch match cheif Barberus Bragge of the wizards council released a golden snidget and offered 150 gallions to which ever player caught it, this proved so popular that a new position was added to quiditch teams, the "hunter", whose sole task it was to catch a golden snidget released in a game" answered Barry quite late

Helios Sunrider 01-31-2009 09:01 PM

Was he the only one that didn't know the history of quidditch? Though he looked rather unique, he did his best to blend into the crowd.

Why waste time on silly birds used for a silly sport, when they could be studying something exciting? Something dangerous.

hufflepuff_keeper_11 01-31-2009 09:11 PM

Set thought hard. He had read in a library book that a man had hosted a contest and offered 150 galleons as a prize for the first person able to catch the agile bird. Then people saw how difficult it was, and incorporated it in to an already developing game on broom sticks. He raised his hand and told the profffesor.

Yaya 01-31-2009 09:11 PM

"The Golden Snidget must have been really agile in flight, so...when first used by Council Barberus Bragge, he offeredn 150 galleons to the team who catched it..." Emiliano slowly said, he wasnt really sure of his answer.

“Snidget hunting was popular back then, so the guy named Barbeus Bragge brought a snidget to a game, and pretty much let it loose and was like catch it and they would get 150 galleons. Eventually it changed into you got 150 points though.” she said.

Iliana smiled brightly. She was amazed at how smart these students were already. "Fantastic answer, Miss Johnson!" she said. "Three points."

"That’s correct! Two more points for Hufflepuff." She said.

"That is also true. Excellent, a point to you sir." She said.

"Now to reiterate, from the early 1100's, Snidget-hunting had been popular among many witches and wizards. At the time Golden Snidgets were common in northern Europe. Snidget-hunting crossed paths with Quidditch in 1269 at a game attended by the Chief of the Wizards' Council himself, Barbeus Bragge. Bragge brought a caged Snidget to the match and told the players that he would award 150 Galleons to the player who caught it during the course of the game. A woman named Madam Rabnott tried to save the snidget by using a Summoning Charm. She succeeded but while her brave action might have saved one Snidget, she could not save all of them. Chief Bragge's idea had changed the nature of Quidditch. Golden Snidgets were being released at all Quidditch games, one player on each team, "the Hunter", having the sole task of catching it. When the Snidget was killed, the game was over and the Hunter's team was awarded an extra 150 points." She explained.

Just then Iliana whistled and out came flying a teeny, tiny yellow bird. He perched upon her shoulder and looked out into the sea of faces.

"OK everyone, this is Vincent. Vincent is MY Golden Snidget. Before coming to Hogwarts, I worked at a place that’s only goal is to keep these creatures from extinction. Can anyone guess where that place was?"

druidflower 01-31-2009 09:41 PM

Tobi raised his hand again, "A snidget reservation, ma'am?"

Anna raised her hand to add her input. "Did you work in the Ministry of Magic?" she asked. "Maybe in the Magical Creatures Division?" She had no clue, but it seemed to sound good to her.

Torchwood 01-31-2009 09:42 PM

Qaz raised her hand and replied, 'Was it the Modesty Rabnott Snidget Reservation?'

SweetAussie 01-31-2009 09:42 PM

Damian looked to the snidget "Oh how cute. The Modesty Rabnott Golden Snidget Reservation here in England"

BeccaBear 01-31-2009 09:43 PM

Allie smiled she was awarded three points for her answer. Then she watched as the Professor whistled and a small golden bird flew out.
“Awww.” she said, as the snidget flew out. It was adorable!
Then she raised her hand, to answer the question.
“I’ve heard about one place like that m’am. Modesty Rabnott Golden Snidget Reservation, in England.” She said.

druidflower 01-31-2009 09:43 PM

Tobi smacked himself and tried again, "Or rather, a Sanctuary."

Waterloo 01-31-2009 09:43 PM

Clifford's listened to Professor Morgan and watched as a tiny, yellow bird flew to her. Whoa, that was pretty cool. He'd never seen one o' those before.

Hesitantly, he raied his hand into the air once again. "Erm - at a Snidget farm place thingymabob, Professor." He guessed.

feeheeheeny 01-31-2009 09:43 PM

Becca's hand shot into the air. "Could it have been the, uh," she hesitated for a moment, pondering the exact name she had read over the summer break, "Modesty Rabnott Golden Snidget Reservation? Or another reservation, at least, dedicated to their protection and safety?"

Waddles 01-31-2009 09:44 PM

Juniper raised her hand. "A snidget sanctuary?" she guessed.

Hollister 01-31-2009 09:45 PM

"Was it made protected in a Snidget Sancturary?" Miles said with his hand raised.

Hedwig18 01-31-2009 09:45 PM

Ana raised her hand "Is it Snidget sancturies"

Yaya 01-31-2009 09:46 PM

"In the Modesty Rabnott Golden Snidget Reservation, ma'am?" Emiliano said, raising his hand.

Felixir 01-31-2009 09:47 PM

Jake raised his hand. "Erm... a snidget reservation. But I'm not certain which... I don't know of any, I can't... remember."

Jake's memory was totally fail at times.

Danny Boy 01-31-2009 09:58 PM

"A snidget reservation! In france somewhere, near Beaxabuns(sp?)" he said his hand raised, perhaps.

Helios Sunrider 01-31-2009 09:58 PM

Cloudy blue eyes followed the flittering, little bird, with feathers of a similar color to his hair. "People hunted these...for sport?" Helios asked, clearly not amused.
