John Raised His Hand "The Bird Snidget Was Used before the invention of the snitch Like Your Snidget Professor"

LaFresita 01-31-2009 08:16 PM

Helena laughed at the students reactions to the mention of Quidditch, and she was fairly sure that she knew where this lesson was headed - sure enough, everyone was soon saying golden snidget to the professor. She chose to keep her mouth shut though. It would like she was copying what everyone else was saying.

"It was a bird, by the name of the Golden Snidget. It was golden and very much like the golden snitch, it where the snitch was designed from. But because they soon became a rare bird, it was banned to be used in quiditch and so the snitch was used instead" said Barry, that ought to get him a few points.

Lislchen 01-31-2009 08:17 PM

Raising her hand Nancy answered the professor's question, "A bird, called the Golden Snidget, was used before the invention of the Snitch."

Tobi raised his hand, now this was a subject he knew, "it was the Golden Snidget, introduced to the game in 1269 by Barberus Bragge, more or less for the fun of seeing a bunch of quidditch players stop what they were doing and chase a Snidget around a pitch, because he offered them 150 galleons - starting the tradition of making the Snidget and later the snitch, worth 150 points"

Evangeline gave her eyes a little roll before raising her hand. "That'd be the Golden Snidget, Ma'am." She replied. SEE! Proof Quidditch was stupid: it almost sent an innocent bird to complete extinction.

LaFresita 01-31-2009 08:19 PM

Helena raised her hand, just to get the points for Slytherin. Last she saw, they were down. It was the Golden Snidget - a small golden bird. She grimaced slightly and returned her hand to her side.

Meh Reh 01-31-2009 08:21 PM

Karma had waited a moment before answering.

"I do believe it was the Golden Snidget, ma'm."

"Exactly right, Candi." Iliana said with a smile. "3 points to Hufflepuff." She said.

"Correct you are. Two points." she said.

"Exactly right." she said to the Gryffindor prefect. "Take a point for your answer as well."

"Alright, as Candi said, before the invention of the snitch, people used to use the Golden Snidget for Quidditch. Does anyone know how this came to be?"

Yaya 01-31-2009 08:29 PM

Emiliano raised his hand, he knew that one. In Durmstrang, even though he didn't care about Quidditch he had to read parts of booklets about it. "I do believe it was the Golden Snidget, Professor..." He said and lowered his hand in a second.

BeccaBear 01-31-2009 08:29 PM

Allie raised her hand again.
“Snidget hunting was popular back then, so the guy named Barbeus Bragge brought a snidget to a game, and pretty much let it loose and was like catch it and they would get 150 galleons. Evntually it changed into you got 150 points though.” she said.

Becky 01-31-2009 08:29 PM

"No, I thought they used golf balls" Jack mumbled

Vampie 01-31-2009 08:29 PM

Trying to remember what her Quidditch book had said, Candi raised her hand and proclaimed ,"Professor, I am pretty sure that Barbeus Bragge introduced the Snidget into the quidditch world in 1269."

Waterloo 01-31-2009 08:29 PM

"'Cause their rotational wings allow the Snidget to move in any direction with remarkable agility and speed." Clifford explained, hand raised.

Hugo grinned, his eyes shining happily. He KNEW this one! His hand shot in the air and wiggled around. "Oh miss! Isn't it because it's so fast, and can change direction really quickly?"

noneworld 01-31-2009 08:31 PM

Dmain raided his hand "The bird could fly with amazing agility, changing speed and direction almost instantaneously."

Anna Banana 01-31-2009 08:31 PM

Anna raised her hand once again. "At the time, people enjoyed snidget hunting. A man by the name of Barbeus Bragge brought a snidget to a Quidditch game and let it loose for the players to catch. At first, you were awarded 150 galleons for catching it. Now-a-days, you are awarded 150 points," she said.

Waddles 01-31-2009 08:32 PM

Juniper raised her hand. "Barberus Bragge offered 150 galleons to the first person to catch the Snidget in a Quidditch game," she said.

Torchwood 01-31-2009 08:32 PM

Qaz raised her hand and replied, 'In 1269, the Chief of the Wizards Council, Barbarus Bragge, brought a caged Snidget to a Quidditch match, released it and offered 150 Galleons to the player that caught it.'

SweetAussie 01-31-2009 08:32 PM

"Welll," Agie said after raising her hand. "They used to use the snidget for hunting. And a guy called Chief Barberus Bragge, released the first Snidget in a game of Quidditch, he actually offered 150 Galleons to the first player who caught it. This convinced Modesty Rabnott to release the bird in a game."

Lislchen 01-31-2009 08:33 PM

Nancy raised her hand before answering the professor's question, "Since the Snidget was declared to be an endangered species in the 1200s the Snitch was invented in the 1300s by Bowman Wright of Godric's Hollow."

Legolas 01-31-2009 08:33 PM

"The wings of the snidget allow him to move quickly and freely around the stadium" John Answered

Shopgirl3876 01-31-2009 08:35 PM

Heidi raised her hand, "Chief Barberus Bragge, who released the first Snidget in a game of Quidditch, offered 150 Galleons to the first player who caught it, which prompted Modesty Rabnott to Summon the bird to her and release it."

Luna Laufghudd 01-31-2009 08:37 PM

Miranda thought and raised her hand, "Professor, there was a so-called sport...er, called Snidget hunting, where the people would catch the poor bird and be rewarded lots of galleons. And then this man called Barberus Bragge, introduced the Snidget to a Quidditch game, where as the Snidget hunting, the person to catch the snidget got lots of galleons... "

ChloeeCloverr 01-31-2009 08:39 PM

Shana sort of raised her hand Is it because the Snitch was found to be faster and harder to catch than the Golden snidget ?
