CoMC Lesson 1
 

Heading down to the grounds you see what looks like the setting for a nice picnic. Lined along the shade trees are several wooden benches. Professor Morgan is standing nearby. She smiles as you approach and says, "Good morning everyone. Please take a seat, class will begin shortly."



OOC: The lesson will start soon. Please keep the chatting to a minimum.

Allie walked into the room, and took a seat on a bench."Hello Professor! Im Alexandra Jonshon! But call me Allie please." she said. "Alexandra makes me feel old. Oh, and welcome to Hogwarts!"

Jake eyed the benches and sat, waiting for some Slytherin friends he hardly ever saw. "Good day, Professor Morgan," he smiled at the professor, for she was one of the few he was familiar with.

He wasn't so sure about being outdoors.

Shudder.

Agie skipped down to the first lesson on COMC. "Oooohhh, a picnic." She said excitedly. As she took a seat on a bench, she gave the professor a small smile. Agie has never seen her before. Fabian taught her last.

Damian entered the classroom and searched place "Hello, Proffessor" said he while sitting.
He took out his stuff and draw in his scratbook while waiting.

Finally a class she was looking forward too!

She was actually smiling walking to class today...that was until she saw Agie. She heard what she called her in Transfiguration. And that comment wasn't going to go unpunished.

She walked and found a seat at one of the benches hoping at least one or two friends showed up.

YAY! The first lesson of the class he really wanted to go to was starting so he walked out from the castle with his dark green robes. He tried doing what you call a "hip" dance before going towards the place where the classes would start. Cam moved from his dancing and then took steps forward 'till he finally saw Professah Morgan. This professor was probably the nicest he's ever met since she juuust was. He power-walked and saw the wooden benches and then looked at the Professor.

"Professah--I mean Professor Morgan! How are you and Vincent?" he asked before taking a seat next to Jake.

Anna quickly followed her good friend Allie Johnson down to the grounds for their first Care of Magical Creature lesson. This had always been one of Anna's favorite subjects, so she was more than just a little excited for the lesson to begin. As Anna got closer to the site where the lesson would take place, she noticed a set-up similar to that of a picnic. Oh, how lovely! Anna smiled politely at the professor and then said, "Good morning to you, too, Professor Morgan." Anna then turned toward the benches and found a seat by Allie.

OH now here was a professor she had yet to meet. Lyra walked in trying to catch up with her bestie, Agie. She sat down next to Agie a bit out of breath. "Good day, professor," she said wtih a bright and shining smile on her face. OH YES! She was up to something! Keel'em with kindness. Earning points never smelled so wonderful.

Nathaniel walked down for this first CoMC lesson of the year. He was pretty excited about it.He smiled at the Professor and said "Good Morning! I'm Nathaniel". He wanted to climb a tree but thought against it sense he didn't think the Professor would approve.Plus Gryffindor didn't need to lost anymore points.

"Hello Professor Morgan," Amy said as she reached the area where it appeared class would be held today. She took a deep breath of fresh air reminding herself why she like CoMC, not only did she like animals and creatures alike but you also got to spend a lot of time outside.

She smile to several other students as she made her way over to one of the wooden benches and took a seat. She pulled her shoulder bag off and placed it on the ground at her feet awaiting class to begin.

"Hello Professor Morgan!" Candi said cheerfully, "I am so happy that we can finally have class, and on such a beautiful day too! I have been anxious all week to start."

After talking to Professor Morgan, Candi started walking over to the benches, when she saw a friendly face. She had only seen her once before but knew her name was Allie Jonshon and that she was a Gryffindor. "Is this seat taken?" Candi asked, sitting down beside Allie. " I'm Candi Clodfelter, your name is Allie right?"

Qaz wandered into the area, enjoying the fresh air. This was not one of her best classes, but always enjoyed being out when the weather was nice.

Spotting Willow, she made a beeline and asked, 'Mind if I share your bench?' and rather ungracefully plopped down before giving her a chance to reply.

Ruby headed to COMC and saw the Professor "Morning Professor Morgan" Ruby smiled as she found a seat

Hurrah! Care of Magical Creatures! Hugo pranced across the grass, eyes widening in delight as he spotted what appeared to be a picnic. Oh! How exciting! "Helloooo Miss!" He greeted the Professor brightly, beaming at her. "I'm so excited about this lesson!" He grinned, each of his pearly white teeth glittering in the sun. Care of Magical Creatures was his favourite lesson, and the one that he was best at too.

Yep, Hugo Jermaine Woods was in his element.

Agie smiled as Lyra took a seat next to her, however she raised her eyebrow and Lyra's over sweetness. She didn't say a word, although she did cough loudly and tried not to giggle. To help stop any giggles, her eyes glanced far away from Lyra's

Miranda walked down the path and soon saw the nice setting which the professor had arrange. It looked very nice, picnic style and all. "Good Morning professor!" she greeted. Grinning, she also saw Dominc looking like he wanted to hide. Maybe he did, but Miranda wasn't aware of that but took a seat besides him.
"Hi Dominic!" she said and started to take out her quill and parchment.

"Hello Professor!" she greeted the new teacher with a beaming smile, excited to see what things she had prepared for them. Taking a seat on one of the benches, she crossed her legs and looked around her, wondering what the lesson could be about. She smiled at Willow who was sitting across her and searched the area for other people she knew, excited for the lesson to start.

She sighed in relief whens he saw Jake and Nancy, people she knew that she actually liked. She got up from her chair and walked over and sat next to them. "Such a nice day," She commented with a smile to the both of them. She was in her favorite class.

She waved at Rachel whens he walked up and sat down.

Valentine walked towards the class, clad in her Ravenclaw robes, and happily. She was waiting for Care of Magical Creatures to start up since, well since the last term ended. This was one class that she loved.

Once finding a place to sit down, she started to take out her materials.

"No its not taken." she said, to the Hufflepuff girl. She look a little younger than Allie was, probably liek a second year. Which was a nice change, she had been talking to a lot of firsties this term, after all. "Yeah, I'm Allie. Nice to meet you Candi!"

Kiri sat down on one of the benches uncertainly. Care of Magical Creatures... Not her favourite subject by any measure. She hadn't been comfortable around all the strange creatures she'd been shown last year, but with a new teacher, maybe she'd enjoy the lessons more. Especially now that she had her own magical creature to tend - even if it was only a pygmy puff - it was probably a good idea to pay attention. Kiri smiled vaguely at the new teacher as, around her, the other students chose their seats, talking among themselves.

Pleased at how everyone seemed to be sitting towards the front of the class area - Dominic was slightly taken aback when a girl sat just a few seats away. One whom he remembered from Diagon Alley last year, but she didn't draw attention to him, so he didn't to her. It was best.

Except for when someone plopped down right next to him and practically shouted his name. Errgghhh!

"Hey," he replied half-heartedly. "Ssh," he whispered, hoping she would just think he wanted to be quiet cause it was a lesson. Removing his parchment and quill from his bag, he rested his eyes on the front area, awaiting for things to begin.

After greeting the Professor, Nathaniel looked for a spot that wasn't near anyone. He didn't say anyone he really knew. He wondered where his buddy Mariel was. Hmm. He spotted a bench that didn't have anyone sitting at it. He set his backpack on the ground and sat down

Shana rushed into the room as fast as she could she had been waitingfor this lesson for ages.She sat down anywhere really and got her things she needed out of her bag.She was breathless and tryed to speak Morning Professor Morgan.

"Thank you!" Candi said, sitting her books down and giving Allie her world famous ear to ear smile.

Keefer skipped down to the class in a random sort of fashion. Seeing the students all seated on benches, he grabbed a seat on the soft green grass. He never understood why people insisted on forsaking the sheer pleasure of freshly cut lawn. Mr. Masterson did an excellent job on the upkeep of the place. As he waited for class to begin, he whistled a tune one would associate with an Irish jig.

Spotting Paris, she waved at her and smiled, watching as she sat down next to her. She greeted her with another warm smile, hoping she would understand that she wasn't talking because of the lesson, and not because she didn't want to. Well, a 'hi' is safe enough right? "Hey," she said quietly, pleased that she hadn't broken any rules yet had been polite.

Before Jake was able to answer, though, someone else took a seat next to them and half-turning her head towards that certain someone Nancy recognized Paris. Grinning at her Nancy nodded at the girl's comment while pulling some parchment and her quill out of her bag. "Hi, Paris. Oh, yes, it is, right?" Unless they were supposed to draw anything in that class as well, then Nancy's day wasn't going to be that nice. The 13-year-old crossed her legs and waited for the lesson to start.

While taking his things out, he looked around and saw a lot of students that came to class for the day. Most of them he didn't know but--OH NO. There he was, right now, sittin' in his seat; DOMINIC DENTON. This was bad, reallly bad! He liked Professah Morgan and now he was in this class, probably wanting to flirt with her? I THINK NOT. It was good he had obtained the news that he loved this professor. If anything happened then he would kick that Dominic in the shins.

He made a "BACK OFF FROM PROFESSOR MORGAN" face towards him and then started to take his things out of his bag.

Lina made her way into the classroom and settled in. She wasn't quite sure what she was really doing in here, though she had to admit she might get something interesting for her experiments. Maybe she'd get some shed krupp fur or something.

ooc: I swear those last 4-5 posts were NOT here when I was posting!

Lyra's vibrant green eyes shifted in the direction of Agie as her head didn't move an INCH. The girl was in a coughing fit and she knew EXACTLY why. Coughcoughshutitcoughcough

She pulled out her quill and some parchment to get ready for class. She had a million things to do but first was class. She had class...to attend.

Damian packed his scratchbook away and waited until everyone was ready and the Professor started the class.

Jack sat down at a bench and threw Jake dirty looks, the boy had no guts, he ran... away from Jack.

Heidi finally made it, "Hello Professor," she said. She saw some of her house and went towards them. She was excited to be there today.

John walked over to the class location and saw the picnic
He walked over to the teacher and said " Hello Professor" He smiled and went to sit near some gryffindor`s

She giggled and covered her mouth before it turned into a full blow laughing fit. "Hey," She smiled they were all trying to be so quiet. She didn't want what happened in Transfiguration to happen again/

She nodded and patted Nancy's hand so they wouldn't get in trouble for talking. "Yep," was all she said with a smile.

Whilst looking at the front of the classroom area, Dominic couldn't help himself but take notice of the other students thereby. Quite a few who he knew and then there was .... Evolette McKenna ... an egocentric drama queen whom he met once last term and she was looking his way! Sighing thankfully, she looked away for which he was pleased.

Almost.

There was that look that Cameron was giving him; what in the name of Merlin was that about!? Blinking at the young boy in confusion, Dominic just shook his head completely unsure what the kid was on about, except his obvious distaste for himself. For reasons unknown. Whatever.

Agie couldn't hold it any longer. Especially after Lyra's on coughing fit. She let out a smirk and then went to quickly take out her books and the quill she stole borrowed from Lyra.

"Oh dear Lyra! That cough doesn't sound very good. Are you sure you're up for class? Or do you need to go to the hospital wing." Agie said loudly enough so that the sweet professor could hear. Her eyes, glanced at Lyra's, but quickly looked away.

Shana saw Nancy from where she was sitting,so she pickeed up her things and went over.Hey Nancy.She smiled and sat quietly waiting for the lesson to start.

"Hey," Jake muttered to Cameron the oh-so-insane. He spotted Dominic not too far away, then back at Cameron, then at Professor Morgan. His first thought was Oh freakin' no... but then, he embraced the idea of Camerons furiously working brain and it's far-fetched ideas. Jake let his first grin of the day spread across his face. An evil one.

Jake nodded to Nancy and let his face twist around a little. "No," he muttered. "My hair... it's stayed greeny and purply and dark-bluey. But, I think I'm leaving it... Stupid ink..." Why wouldn't it wash out?

Hearing Paris note on the lovely day as she came over, Jake shrugged. A lovely day, to him, was indoors. Nevertheless, he smiled in greeting.

Iliana watched contently as more and more students filled up the benches. Then she overheard something alarming. Hospital wing? Oh my! She walked over to the girls and asked, "Is everything alright ladies?"

Jack started muttering under his breath about Jake while looking around for Sak.

Kait walked down to CoMC and said, "Hi Professor Morgan," and then took a seat on one of the benches next some other students that she didn't really know. She turned to them and said, "Hey, I'm Kait."

Smirking in amusement at Paris, she shook her head in mock disapprovement and looked away before she burst out laughing as well. These situations always made her giggle like made, and now would be a terrible time to start giggling maniacally. Winking as Paris, she looked down at her bag and began taking out her things, fighting the urge with all her will.

She looked over as the Professor asked if Lyra and Agie were alright, she hoped Agie was chocking on her fat little tongue. That would serve her right.

"Oh professor, I just heard my friend cough and it didn't sound like a normal cough." Agie said in her most innocent voice, looking at Lyra and then back at the professor. "Is everything ok Lyra?" She said, almost grinning at her best friend. Although only Lyra would know that it was a grin. Everyone else would thing it was concern.

Jake looked up at Jack, seeing him muttering and looking, before sending a death glare over, and muttering "Attention seeker..." before resolving to sit and say or do nothing until they were asked to do something for class.

He'd run away from deal with Jack later.

Nancy glanced down at her hand with a confused look on her face. Why was Paris patting her hand?! Just as she was about to open her mouth to ask her blue eyes moved back and forth between them and Professor Morgan a few times before a knowing smile crept across her lips. Ah, okay. She was a bit slow at times.

Nancy's head jerked around as she heard a girl's voice addressing her and she spotted Shana who was walking towards them. Giving the girl a grin Nancy mouthed "Hi" at her before turning her attention back to the professor.

Anna glanced over at Lyra and Agie, figuring that neither needed the hospital wing, but that both were up to something. Anna raised her hand to get the professor's attention. "Professor Morgan, if someone needs to go to the hospital wing, I'd be happy to walk them there and then report right back to class. That is, if you think she needs to go," Anna said.

"Well, if you need to see the nurse, just let me know. I'll gladly excuse you from class." she said. Returning her attention to the rest of the class, Professor Morgan cleared her throat.

"Alright then, Good morning class. For those of you that don’t know, I am Professor Morgan, your new Care of Magical Creatures professor." She said smiling around at her students "Now seeing as this is the first lessons for the year I decided were going to have a fun one. Tell me, how many of you like Quidditch?"

Shana was looking around the room and her eyes suddenly spotted Clifford,He was looking at all the slytherins and Not excatly happily.Shana sat up and tried to make it look like she was concerntrating...Which for shana wasn't possible.

Lyra's eyes shifted towards Agie, then she slammed her head to the table. She was going to HURT her bestie but now at this point, she had to cough again. Her head snapped up when she heard the voice of the professor walking over to check on her.

Coughcough"I'm fine professor," coughcough "Thank you for asking." COUGHCOUGHCOUGH "Just something..." -clears throat- "...stuck. Thank you." She whispered the last part as she held her throat...still trying to clear a passage way.

Qaz raised her hand and said, 'I love Quidditch'

Quidditch? QUIDDITCH? Hugo blinked and then shrugged. He didn't raise his hand, for he'd never played. It was good to watch but playing looked like a different matter entirely. But what did Quidditch have to do with CoMC? He sat patiently, waiting for the rest of the lesson to be revealed. What there some kind of broom gremlin or something? Hmm.

Allie raised her hand.
"I do, Proffesor." she said.

Cam raised his hand. "Meeee!" He didn't even play it though.

Ugh. Miranda couldn't just leave things be and shush. She had to go and be a girl and all sentimental on him, thinking just because he didn't want to talk, something was wrong.

Sighing quietly, Dom shook his head. "Nothing, but the lesson is about to begin," he whispered to her, hoping that was enough. Except that she handed him a lemondrop, which was awfully sweet cause it meant she remembered!! EEP! Taking it from her he nodded in appreciation, muttering a barely audible, "Thanks," as he popped it into his mouth.


And just in the nick of time, the Professor began the lesson. A fun one!? How does Quidditch relate to Magical Creatures, but nonetheless, the fifth year raised his hand - all previous efforts to remain invisible washed away with that one mention of the nine-lettered word.

"Like!? I love Quidditch, Professor," Dominic informed her eagerly, wondering if she loved it as well.

Overjoyed that class had finally begun, Candi threw her hand into the air, " I love Quidditch," She thought to herself

Kait raised her hand in answer to the professor's question, " I do," she said, she was trying out for the team this year.

Paris raised her hand. "I do professor." She said.

Shana Raised her hand and in a quiet voice she shyly said Ermm I liek quidditch Professor Morgan.Although Shana hadn't tryed out for the quidditch team this yer she still liked it she just was a bit too shy to try out this year.

Rachel smiled. I like her... She raised her hand high in the air, then realised that while she enjoyed watching it, she was a born klutz and therefore was very bad at playing it. Oh Merlin, I hope she won't make us play! Flying - yes; playing - better clear everyone else out of the vicinity!

Evangeline, who had been quietly sitting next to Clifford, keeping an eye on any possible chatty Slytherin, looked at the front of the class to Professor Morgan when she began talking. First lesson of the year, fun one ... sounded reasonable enough for Evangeline, actually.

But wait ... what was that? How many them you liked Quidditch?

Her jaw dropping, she stared at the woman, while dearly hoping this lesson had nothing to do with Quidditch. Stoopid sport that haunt her. Hmpf.

Heidi raised her hand, "I do professor." She loved the game, but she thought she would never be able to play. She wasn't that good.

Anna blinked, wondering why the opening question of the lesson dealt with Quidditch, and not some magical creature. Ahh, well. The professor knew what was best, and this was probably just an attention-getter for a really awesome lesson about...hmmm...possibly a magical creature that could fly. Anna raised her hand. "I absolutely love Quidditch, Professor. I've played on the Gryffindor house team for the past five school years, and I hope to play on the team again this year. It's an amazing sport," she said. Anna smiled and then added, "I also hear you have a pet whose name sort of relates to the sport of Quidditch."

Agie was really really trying to hold the giggles in. Especially since Anna was now looking out for them. All that went when she mentioned quidditch. "Quidditch is the greatest thing invented!" Agie said. Ohh, she liked this professor already.

Quidditch? Kiri's brow furrowed. No, she didn't like Quidditch. And wasn't this supposed to be Care of Magical Creatures? She looked around as most of her classmates raised their hands, confused.

Keefer loved Quidditch. It was one of the few social events he enjoyed. He hoped to make the House team, though he was a first year. His interest heightened, he shifted a bit on the soft grass and eagerly awaited the professor to continue.

Jake raised his hand. "I like quidditch."

Ooh, Dominic loves quidditch?

Codeword, maybe?

Damian raised his hand and said "I love Quidditich"

Nathaniel perked up. "Oh I love Quidditch,Professor!" he said over excitedly. His father had after all went Pro..

Raising her hand "I love quidditch professor. I was even on the team last year." she finishes with a grin.

Barrys hand shot into the air "It`s good enough professe, as long as the matches don`t get too long" he said, remembering his dad tell him a story of when he went to match which lasted a week. How could you suvive then?

Robert turned in his seat as he heard someone coughing behind him to find Lyra in some sort of fit. As the professor came over he looked at her worriedly and looking around noticing the class hadn't started yet moved over to sit on the other side of Lyra. Leaning over he whispered, "Are you alright?'

As the professor mentioned Quidditch he grinned and raised his hand with a smirk at Lyra and whispered again, "Did I tell you I'm trying out for the team?"

" i went to the tryouts too..."

Jack closed his eyes and felt annoyed, one more word or action from Jake would set Jack off, Jake would get what he deserved.

Daphne raised her hand, adding to the chorus of students who loved the sport. "I do love Quidditch. I used to be the Ravenclaw seeker!" she said, somewhat mournfully. She was too injured to play this term, and eyed Willow nearby. She felt badly for not having properly discussed her injured arm with her.

Lyra cleared her throat once more and smiled. Every student in this room seemed to play Quidditch but herself. She LOVED flying on a broom but as far as sports, she was not one to get her hands dirty...too much. Her eyes looked up at Robert and smiled when he said he was trying out for the team. There would be another person she would be cheering during a game whether they were playing Hufflepuff or not. She was still loyal to her team but it never hurt to cheer for friends.
