John Glared At the Snidget with excitement...
He thought of a plan he thought was a good plan
" I think we should not allow any Magical creature hunting and if someone is caught to take them for azkaban for a few day`s as a warning just so they'll feel what`s coming for them... if they hunt again"

Heidi overhearing what her fellow griffindor's were saying, bent towards them, and asked, "Why don't we have a raffle? You know, offer some kind of prizes, and with the money we raise, we donate it to the right people who know how to take care of them." She looked at them and knew she had a good idea, but would they think it was a good one?

Hannah smiled at Tobi. "Those are good," she said. "Hmm. Well, what if we..." she trailed off, trying to think of ideas. If she was going to join in with this group of older students, she needed to contribute. "What if we found some people to kind of look after a certain area and make sure nobody was hurting any of the species?" She couldn't think of anything better than that, and she thought it was probably already suggested by someone else. Oh well, she thought. That's the best I've got.

Karma watched the nevous Hufflepuff almost tremble in her presence. It must be because she was a girl. GASP. And she was older. DOUBLE GASP.

"Ecology, it's the study of the environment dear."

She listened to Cam as he spoke about the environment. Sure, doing those things would help, but the point of it was to help the wizarding creatures that were going extinct.

"All of those things would help. But, we need to focus on the magical aspect of it," she started. "Yes, the centaurs work perfectly. They are living, but because they're not fully human, are part creature, and are magical. And when we cross their paths, it's not good. It's upsetting the balance of nature really. So what we need to plan on doing is figuring out how to set up ways of making sure that there are environments for all of these creatures to live in. Without being disturbed."

That was a mouthful.

Tobi nodded encouragingly, "Like a volunteer drive or something?"

Wow, that's actually kind of brilliant. "That's a really good idea Hannah, most of our ideas were to draw attention to issues, but not to really do much about them, what you suggest is kind of great, because it raises awareness, it gets people involved, and it accomplishes the goal of protecting Creatures."

Tobi still couldn't believe he was discussing this. This was not normally a concern for him. He didn't really like creatures. They scared him silly.

Okay so Tobi was a bit cynical about the Ministry. He didn't have much of a chance there. They had really only ever meddled with his family and never done them much good as far as he could see.



Tobi thought about that one, how did his great great grandmother, a 'full blood witch and proud of it thank you very much' go marching with with a bunch of other wizards and witches?

"Well we could go in Muggle clothing. It would only be a little dodgy, because some of us would inevitably foul up, and also a few Muggles would be running up and marching with us for the sake of it, not knowing what we're hollering about. But to them A Snidget or an Augury is a clever acronym or a nonsense word. Still, it's just enough to shake up the Ministry."



"Hi Hannah," Tobi greeted her, "Well so far we've got having a March, a Sit In, getting something printed in the Prophet, or Raising Money for a reservation."

"That's true. They can be a bit... dodgy, I suppose. They tell you they'll do one thing and then do another. We could give it to a private organization, perhaps? ARE there private organizations for that kind of thing?" Zeke said.

And then, yet another person joined. And apparently, the girl had been eavesdropping because she had caught her name. "That woud be correct. Nice to meet you, Hannah." She nodded.

For some reason, Willow didn't like the idea of handing money to the people of the Ministry. It just sounded... weird. "Handing the money to the Ministry? Really?" She asked, trying to keep the eskepticism off her voice, but not quite managing it.

"If we are going dressed as Muggles, I think that we should give the people that are participating in the march some kind of lesson on how to dress as muggles without looking like a bunch of mentally unstable people, before marching, you know?" She grinned. It was completely true. She knew a lot of wizards who could not put together a decent muggle outfit to save their lives.

john thought that heidie's idea is great "youre right its all a money problem but what kind of ruffle?"

Hannah blushed. Geez, this kid was nice. "Thanks," she said, smiling at him. "Y'know, it's kinda weird to be discussing this. I normally don't even think about it," she laughed. "What else you guys got?" She tried to think of more ideas but was drawing a blank.

Hannah nodded. "That's a good idea. My father's idea of a good Muggle outfit is a faux fur coat and pajama pants..." she said, recalling the time he actually HAD worn that. She'd stopped him just before he went out the door (thank goodness).

"Would you like to join Anna and myself?' Agie asked, with a sly smile. "That's a great idea. Not only the people who harm the creatures are at fault, by selling or buying them you are also encouraging more people to harm more creatures." She added.


Agie grinned at Anna. "Well, he'd be great seeker practice." Agie laughed. "But I doubt it. Professor Morgan is way too protective of him."

Hmmm, security. "What about a magical security field that can pick up danger. Maybe by elevated heart rates? Or by sensing fear." She shrugged. "I doubt that is possible tho."

Heidi was happy they thought her idea was good. "Well, we can talk to business owners, or even some Quidditch teams, and have them donate some items and other things. Then we sell tickets for the items, and when all the tickets are sold, we hold a party of sorts and draw the winners. They don't have to be present to win, and we can always accept donations too."

Tobi's eyebrows shot up into his curly blond hair so that they disappeared complete. His dad seemed to be pretty adept at dressing like a Muggle, but he'd been doing it for a lot of years, and his mum WAS a Muggle, so she never had a problem with it. She might mess up trying to pass for a witch though. But he'd had some pretty interesting people come through his parents Inn; the best was the one who wore a pair of lederhosen and a tuxedo jacket with tails, and flip flops. try explaining that to the Muggle guests.

Tobi tried to get himself back onto course, "hey guys, do you remember Professor Dainsie's Magical Creature Hospital? Maybe we could start it up again now that she's gone."

Did he just say that? Why would he say a thing like that? He DID NOT want to do that.

Anna glanced up and smiled at the sound of Copernicus' voice. He was really intelligent, and she always enjoyed having conversations with him. "You know, I never thought of that, Copernicus. If we cracked down on those who also purchase these items, there'd be no one, or at least a lot less people, to sell to. There's no point in trying to sell if there's no one to sell to," she added. "I think a letter to the Ministry would be perfect. Perhaps it would open up their eyes to a growing problem, and they could enlist their Magical Creatures division in helping enforce this law."

"Hey!" Anna exclaimed, making a face at Agie and then drawing Vincent closer to her. "I know you only meant enlisting his help by catching him like you would the snitch, but I'm afraid that would either scare him or harm him. I think one of the reasons the birds were taken out of Quidditch games is because the force of someone's hand grasping them so quickly harmed them," Anna said. Anna considered what Agie was saying about security fields and heart rates. It seemed like a good idea, but it just didn't seem possible. "It sounds good, but in our magical world, you never know whose heart rate you'd pick up. It could blead you to a really dark creature or something like that," Anna said.

"Hmm... What about educating children from a very young age - pre-Hogwarts, even - about the importance of protecting creatures? If little kids have it instilled in them from the time they're really little, they'll be less likely to hurt any animals. The Ministry could like print up pamphlets for parents and picture books for children to help them learn about it. That way, even before they got to Care of Magical Creatures class, they'd know the proper way to act around the creatures, which would be a plus for everyone, especially the teacher." Zeke said. Wow, that was long-winded, he thought. Hmm. I hope that wasn't a weird idea...

"Ooh. Yeah." he said in response to Hannah's comment about their dad. "Horrible. I'm just glad you stopped him..."

"That's a great idea!" Hannah said. "I mean, accidents happen, right? Somewhere to take an injured creature would be great." She didn't even want to think about the fact that some of the "accidents" weren't accidental. Stupid people. Stupiddddd.

"That's a good idea, but I think we also need to educate the public about the problem. The muggle have made great strides in protecting their endangered species by protecting their natural habitats, and also passing harsher laws for poaching and the selling of endangered animal parts on the black market. The muggle scientists also study their endangered species. They capture the individual animals and tag them. Then the muggles study their migration habits and continue to check in the animals. Creating reserves is a good idea, but as Professor Morgan pointed out, you can save only so many creatures in a reserve. We need to make wizards aware of what's happening to endangered magical creature and their habitat. When you get the public fired up, things get better.

"Oh, no, I'm sorry," Copernicus hedged. "It was terribly rude of me to intrude upon your conversation, but I couldn't help but overhear you. Please forgive me."

"I agree, and perhaps a series of letters to show our support as a large group. Or a petition. We could even get our parents to sign it, if we think they wouldn't listen to us simply because we're just a bunch of teenagers. I wonder if they allocated more funds to the Magical Creatures division for recruitment, if they couldn't get a large number of new employees right out of Hogwarts to increase the work force and help support new programs."

Tobi really thought Zeke was on to something there. "Early education is a really important step. Do you guys know Aggie DeWitt? She was raised by her grandmother, who trains Owls, and now she's just mad about Owls and all other birds too." Tobi had seen it first hand, and had to listen to her drone on about the differences between Owls and pigeons. How you train an owl to become a Post Owl, etc etc. "I think it's because her Grandmother taught her so much about Owls as a kid, she really became passionate about them."

No it's not! No it's not!!! Someone has to take care of them! I don't want to do it! they're SCAAAAAARY!!! THEY'RE GONNA EAT MEEEEE!

"Uh, thanks, Hannah, glad you think so." What?!! "Professor Dainsie's Hospital was also a bit of an adoption center, maybe we could keep that idea going too."

ARE YOU MAD? WHY ARE YOU SAYING THESE DANGEROUS THINGS?!!

"I think you're right," Copernicus turned to the girl who had spoken up and found the one who had interrupted his duel with Plymouth. "But I'm not sure what would get people excited about magical creatures. So many witches and wizards are intrinsically selfish and care more about how much money something will get them rather than saving an endangered species."

"I see," Zeke said. "Well, then, it all works out, right? I personally believe that our group's ideas are the best," he said with a laugh.

"Oh my gosh! That's brilliant!" Hannah exclaimed enthusiastically. Tobi had a very... strange look on his face. Like he was horrified or terrified or somethingelse-fied. Hmm. Oh well. "That's an amazing idea."

Tobi nodded, trying very hard to take deep breaths of air, but it wasn't working so well. Every breath is coming out in a wheeze. And every breath was coming in as... well they weren't coming in very well.

What -wheeze- have you done? Suggesting Active Involvement with CREATURES? -gasp- Have you cracked? Why don't you go march into the greenhouse and tickle the Venemous Tentacula? -wheeze gasp- You've lost it!!!

"I don't feel so good."

And suddenly Tobi's face connected with the ground. He'd had one big whopping chicken panic attack, and fainted.

"That`s Great and we can get The quiditch Team to do some preformence or a show of some kind we should offer it to the teacher It Would be so great!"

"Tobi!" Hannah exclaimed, completely caught off guard by this. One moment they were talking about a magical creature hospital, the next, Tobi had practically died on the floor in front of her. "Uhhh... I don't know what to do when someone faints..." she said to herself, starting to mildly panic. She shook him. "Tobi? TOBI!" Hmm. I hope you ARE supposed to shake them when they've fainted... she thought. Oh, poo.

"Ermm, professor?" She called. "We've got... a bit of a problem over here..."

The clinical reason for a person fainting is because their brain isn't getting enough oxygen, so you lose consciousness. When Tobi had keeled forward bumping his crooked nose against the ground, his head became lower than his heart, and suddenly it didn't have to work so hard to get the blood, containing oxygen, to his brain.

Hannah's shake helped a good bit too.

"Mum! Honestly, just ONCE get Caroline to fix the boiler!" he mumbled into the.. dirt...?

Oh bother.

Tobi took a hold of little Hannah's hand, and held tight as he pushed up off the ground and righted himself to a sitting position on the bench.

"Oops?" he said, testing the waters. He took some slow careful breaths for good measure.

"Nothing, to see here, I'm good!" Not afraid of Magical Creatures, did not freak out and faint. None of it happened. It's all in your imagination. Go about your business, I'm not the coward you're looking for, Move along. "Did anyone else have any more ideas?" Change the subject, change the subject!

"Ahh..." Hannah said. "You're still holding my hand." she gestured with the hand Tobi wasn't squeezing the life out of. She gave him a little pat on the shoulder. "Are you ok?" He attempted to change the subject, but she gave him a look like "ok-mister-you-just-fainted-what's-going-on-it's-not-like-no-one-noticed-you-know."
