Agie was excited! She would actually let her hold him. Agie watched in awe, following hid every move with ease. He was fast! But not too fast for Agie. Her eyes continued to move quickly around the room, as she slowly help out her hand. She pressed her lips in an O shape and whistled to Vincent. "Here boy!" She called softly. It felt strange calling for a snidget, but she hoped he'd come.

Cam's eyes were twirling and twirling while trying to see where that snidget went. It was just too fast, he was glad he didn't try out to be a Seeker. They needed incredibly good eyes! Vincent probably took about a second for it to zig-zag around the trees and then went back down the grass. Yup, it seemed as though that snidget hadn't even moved from its spot. He clapped a lot for what he just did. It looked awesome.

He raised his hand to ask questions. "Professor, how fast does a snidget's heartbeat go per minute? One of the animals in the muggle world, the hummingbird is incredibly fast. A certain kind of it has a heartbeat rate of 1260 per minute or so I believe. I'm guessing the snidget to be much faster though so I'm guessing it's higher than 1260 beats per minute?" He wanted the exact answer though so he sat in his seat like always and waited for her answer. Then he remembered another question.

Raising his hand yet again, he asked, "Why'da name 'im Vincent?"

"Yes, Professor." Cela caught the bag and peered inside it for a moment before selecting a few and placing them in the centre of her palm. She extended her hand and slowly walked toward the snidget.

Agie looked around the room to see the others trying to hold Vincent as well. But she wanted to be the first. She decided to continue to whistle. This time, it was a sweet lullaby her mother used to sing to her when she was little.

Set raised his hand. "Professor, why did (in the olden days) did they feel the need to actually kill the snidget? I mean, could they not have just caught it, and used it again, as we do today with our Golden Snitch?" he asked.

Ok Agie couldn't resist. Vincent, just kept coming by in circles and she Agie was sooo tempted to just catch it. It was second nature to her after all and she hadn't played Quidditch in so long. Her eyes found him easily again, so Agie slowly stood on her bench. When he was in reaching distance, Agie jumped off the bench and carefully closed her hand around Vincet. Just like a snitch.

She landed on the ground, flawlessly of course and loosened her grip even more on Vincent. She had done it! And he was just perfect. Agie brought the bird in closer to get a good look at him, stroking him gently.

Jake looked over at the boy who was Jack's friend and whom had assumed Jake hated him in the common room. Jake didn't like people who assumed.

"It got crushed by its captors..." Jake answered him, eyeing the boy warily. "My guess was in the thrill of the moment of in the speed. Or to stop it getting away... Still... no excuses for it." Jake scowled at the table, just thinking about it.

"Or... because they're so delica-" GASP! Jake saw what that older girl had just done. "What the heck?!" he cried, in a kind of shocked whisper-shout.

Set looked over at jack, who had answered his question. jack gave him a look that said quite plainly that jack was mad at him. Set wanted to say that he didn't hate jack (at least not this jack) it was the other, trouble making jack that he disliked. That Jack Moiser, or what ever. He wanted to tell all this to jack, but Set couldn't because they were in the middle of class.

Karma's jaw dropped as the girl lunged for the Snidget. Sure, it was cute, but what the -

"WHAT are you doing?" she asked, putting her hand over her mouth.

Tobi was begining to recover from his horrible humiliation and enjoy the class, watching Vinnie the Snidget was quite pleasant, maybe not all pets were so bad.

And then the OTHER Agie did something unspeakable!

"You can't catch a SNIDGET!" he squealed exclaimed. Okay so it wasn't so unspeakable that he couldn't speak of it to tell her not to do it.

"Haven't you paid any attention to the class AT ALL!?"

"That's what I'm saying," Jake breathed. He turned to the oh-so-impatient-one"You could have crushed him!"

So, that was one coulda-been fatality, and Jake tried to calm down so there wasn't another. Plus, the girl was bigger then Jake and could squish him before Jake could say "Long Live Dominic Denton's Long Lost Love..." But then again alot could have happened before he would finish saying it.

Jake resolved to try it next time he needed to sneeze or something.

Professor Morgan saw the girl climb onto the bench and quietly cheered her on. When she finally had him him her hands, Iliana clapped excitedly. "Brava, my dear! You did it." she applauded. "He flew straight at you. Congratulations!" she said completely impressed.

"Relax guys! Vincent would have never gone to her if he was scared. Those rules are for Snidgets in the wild. Vincent is in good hands!"

Turning her attention back to the class she announced. "Alright class. In case you haven't been able to tell, one of the things that I hold most dear is that our magical creatures are protected. What I'd like you to do now is get together in groups of two or more to devise a plan to keep their numbers from depleting. I truly believe that we have some of the brightest minds right here at Hogwarts and I would love to be able to present the Ministry with a strategy that they might not have thought of before."

OOC: It is time for me to go for awhile but I will be leaving this thread open for you. Please feel free to RP yourselves devising a plan for the Ministry or feeding/catching Vincent. NO personal chatting is allowed. Discuss the task at hand only. Know now that if you hurt my birdie, you would love detention after what I will do to you. BE NICE TO MY BABY! "Agie! You caught Vincent!" Anna exclaimed, pushing herself off the ground and then heading over to her friend and fellow Gryffindor. "I'm happy to see that you handled him so gently, too." Anna reached down and softly ran her fingers down the Snidget, admiring its feathers. "Did you know, Agie, that the feathers and eyes of a Snidget are highly prized? That's why they were hunted to near extinction," Anna explained.

Jake looked up in total bewildement. Had the world gone topsy turvy?

"She- the- why- snidget- shortbread?!" He spluttered, blinking. At Professor Morgan's next task, Jake reached out an arm and grabbed Cameron's sleeve, pulling him closer. "You. Here. Me. Discuss. Snidgets," he spoke abruptly, still a little bamboozled.

Set already had a plan in mind. The essentail idea is to put them in an easily monitered space. A reservation is nice, but can be restricing. How about their own island or their very own mountain. The minisrty could regulate an enclosed envirorment easier and it's all natural and not restricted!

Catching the Snidget is a good thing, wait what? Oh here comes the blush again.

Tobi was so very confused. This was NOT his class.

How am I going to get through the year without utterly shaming Gryffindor and inciting Professor P to violence?

Indeed, Professor Pierce was starting to scare him more than Professor Kazimeriz.

Willow, who had been utterly distracted throughout the entire Care of Magical Creatures Class, barely saw a Gryffindor girl catching the snidget. Show off. However, show off or not, Willow had to admit that the girl had caught the animal rather neatly. Huh. She shrugged it off, the same moment Professor Morgan started to ramble about some kind of plan. . .

Blink. Blink. Blink.

. . . What was she talking about? What plan? Had she missed something?

Oh, right--she'd missed the entire class. Sort of.

Cam frowned when she didn't answer his question and thought that it really wasn't important anyways. Oh well. He sighed a sad sigh and tried to brighten up his face with a smile. He looked at the muttering Jake and waved at him, nodding at his every word. Oh he understood all of his language. It was either Jake wanted to take over world domination or he wanted to be partners. Probably 'bout world domination, but I'll take partners... So he quickly dragged his friend a few feet from where they were. People could have eavesdropped and he had ideas.

"So Jake, whaddya suggest first?"

Agie eyed the overreacting students. She was about to mention something, when Professor Morgan spoke. HA! Vincent liked her and she actually got to catch him! "Why thank you professor!" Agie said grinning.

"Oh, Anna! Thanks. He so cute. Here hold our your hands." Agie said, handing him to Anna. "What are they used for?" She asked about the feathers.

Tobi noticed Willow looking rather as confused as he was, and figured they might be on even footing.

"Hey Willow, want to try and come up with this ministry, plan, er thing?" he asked.

THAT was confidence inspiring. Way to go...

Melanie's mind was blank. Make posters that say: Don't catch snidgets unless they get too close. Then it's okay cause they like you. That whole ordeal sorta confused her, but at least the little bird was okay. She shrugged, shaking the thought off and slowly started scooting closer to Set, Ana, and Cadence. She didn't really care who she was paired with as long as she knew them.

Ah, well. Whatever it was that Professor Morgan had been talking about was probably not terribly important--for her. It wasn't like she had any magical creature as a pet or something like that, nor did she want one, so there was really no point on learning about magical creatures. . .

. . . Why was she taking this class again?

"You are very tall," she noticed blinking as looked up at him. Or maybe she was just too small. Ignoring the annoyance that her shortness produced on her, Willow nodded at him, "Sure, thing. What do you have in mind?" Because clearly, she had nothing. The only thing she knew about the class was that Morgan had a snidget and that was only the professor had asked about it whilst talking about Quidditch.

"Oh, you're welcome," Anna said, still softly petting Vincent. Her eyes widened when Agie offered to let her hold the bird. Anna nodded and held her hands out towards Vincent, anxious to hold the tiny creature in her hands. She softly scooped the bird into her palm and held it close to her. "Hey, little fellow," she cooed. As she pet the bird, she wondered how on Earth someone could think to harm such an innocent creature.

Anna glanced up at the professor as she began to give the next set of directions. The students were to work together to devise a plan to keep the number of Snidgets from depleting. "Well, Agie, what do you think?" Anna asked. "How many Snidget reservations are there? I only know of two, but maybe if a few more were opened, more safe habitats for these little fellows would exist."

"So first, we make badges, then we overthrow the- oh right... class..." Jake muttered. Got his ideas a little confused there. Magical creatures mode: malfunctioning ON!

"Errrr... my wand has a snidget feather thingy in it?" Jake tried, not really knowing what to say on the actual topic. "Idunnooooooo! Breeding or something?"

There were some good ideas afoot somewhere in Jake's brain, but the stupid little mind babies wouldn't start their engines!

Iliana walked around listening to the discussions that were under way. She heard a bit of confusion coming from the students in regards to the task and decided to clarify as best she could. "Class when it comes to protecting the creatures I want you to think on a larger scale. Not just snidgets but all magical creatures. The Snidgets had special circumstances that caused them to become endangered but this is far from an isolated incident. There is always a risk of endangerment looming over our creatures. I want you to think of how we might help all Magical creatures. You choose what to discuss. From Flobberworms to Hippogriffs or everything in between. What can we do or what CAN be done to help the ecology?"
