Twilight took a badge, she so hoped that she would learn this better this way. She hoped she wouldn't do any damage, but knew her professor could fix anything, so she wasn't so worried.

... So the professor wanted the students to kill each other, or at least that's what he thought. All of the other people were happy and stuff for this assignment but he surely wasn't. Well actually he did think it could have been fun, as long as he wasn't facing any of the more experienced students. Some of them were scary and he did remember seeing a few people immediately cast their shields in a second. But there were people that were in the Slytherin house that were experienced too, right?

There were a few hexes and jinks which caught his eye and started to quickly practice the wand movements under his robes. Through this, he needed constant vigilance which was going to be like, haaaard.

"X movement for hexes, loop motion for jinxes. Got it." Cam skipped over to where sheet was and signed his name on it, very messy though since he was in a hurry. He slooooowly walked out of the classroom as to waste time to not be cast a spell on. Let the torture begin.

Twilight carefully practiced in the corner the movements and the few ones she could remember. She then softly walked up to the sign up sheet and igneous her name. She put her faith in her professor and that he trusted them to do well. The rules were really fair. She then went and got her bag and headed to her next class.

Jack stared at the badges warily, he'd only just managed to stop the acorns from killing him! He wasn't going to take part. No. No way. Well... it couldn't hurt to try. No, he wasn't going to be stupid. Well... Jack reached out his hand towards the basket and then pulled it back. Should he? He might aswell, he grabbed a badge and pinned it to his robes, hopefully no-one completely evil or stupid would start to hex him, he gulped as he looked around the room, Jack knew he'd just be deflecting the spells, since he didn't know any... yet.

Daniel hesitated a moment but then decided to get a badge and be a part of the laboratory exercise. He then signed up for the exercise and stands in the corner and practiced doing the X's of Hexes and loops of Jinxes. He then grabbed a quill and parchment and took note of all the jinx and hex available.

After doing so, he looked around, left the room very vigilant. But before he exited the room he flicked his wand upon himself and said, "PROTEGO HORRIBILIS and he did again for a second time and said a different incantation, "SALVIO HEXIA". And again for the last time, "PROTEGO". He then quietly exited the classroom.

Kayla gathered her stuff together and made her way towards the Professor's desk and signed the book. Oh this was going to be fun she thought as she eyed all the first years with a mischevious smile on her face. Before she left the room however she waved her wand, "Protego" she muttered and then made her exit.

Sakura quickly grabbed a badge from the Slytherin crate and then walked up to the front of the room, signing her name to the sheet, in her normal elegant scrawl. She was sure that this would be fun, however unlike Cam she wasn't bouncing around in anticipation. Quickly she said, "Protego." and was pleasantly surprised when it worked. Wow, obviously she wasn't so bad at this. Which was probably good since it would be an all out war most likely.

Jack signed his name and glanced at Sak "Hey, wanna work together?" he asked in a whisper

Turning slightly at the sound of Jack's voice Sakura smiled and nodded her assent. "Do you want to practice the hexes and jinxes first or would you rather do something else?" she asked in the same tone that he had used.

"Let's go, we can practice in the halls" Jack smiled as he dragged Sakura up to the second floor.

Sakura unwillingly let herself be dragged from the classroom.

Ruby picked up the Slytherin badge and pinned it to her robe she looked around and saw Sakura and that reminded her she needed to send her an owl later she walked back and sat down

Barry walked up and collected a badge and put it on. Awarness. Observation. These were what he needed. He signed up and left the room, hunting for students.

Ana grabbed a badge and signed up and then she left the room.

Agie wished that the old man put on a badge. Then she could give him a nice hex. She knew just the one too. Agie sighed and placed her scarf back on, and headed for the door. Since she already knew how to perform 99% of these spells, she did not need practice. "Come on Lyra. Or I might have to Hex ya!" She snickered, walking out the door.

Jake nabbed himself a fancy lookin' shiny yellow badge and signed his full name on the sheet-a-ma-bob, to spare him some time. He practised a little in the vain hope that he wasn't out of his depth, before resigning to the fact that he had to leave sometime.

Sigh.

"Protego!" Jake cast, before grabbing his bag and leaving the room, heading for the boys dormitory where he could have a quick rest before going out and kicking some rear end.

Amanda put on a badge and then got up and signed her name on the list, this was definately going to be interesting. She was always looking for an excuse to hex people, this was definately going to be major fun. Course she would follow the rules and not hex anyone who wasn't wearing a badge. She left the classroom and went off looking for victims to throw hexes at.

After grabbing apretty blue Ravie badge from the basket, Qaz hurried and signed up. This has to be the best assignment yet, she thought.

She hurried and grabbed her stuff and headed back to the dorm as fast as she could....

Mariel jotted down some notes about hexes and jinxes, then paused as she listened to the professor describe the next practical portion of the class. That actually sounded pretty cool. Of course that would mean she'd have to be on constant alert, keeping her wand ready at all times. And she was a little wary of older students who knew non-verbal spells that might sneak attack her. But this would be the best way to get some real-life practice and might even be fun. She had to admit, this class was pretty awesome so far.

Turning again to her notes to copy down the rules of this exercise, the Ravenclaw girl grabbed a badge reflecting her House from the basket as it was passed around. She packed up her things as they were dismissed, keeping her wand in her hand and practiced her shield charm a few more times for good measure. Then, before leaving, she signed the parchment and said, "Bye Professor."

Smiling, Ponessa tucked a bit of her long, silver hair behind an ear. This is exactly what she needed, a little friendly competition. She rose from her desk, taking her peahen quill with her, signing her name. She picked up a badge, turning it over in her fingers, and fastened it to the front of her Ravenclaw blazer as she sat down again.

She had nowhere to go to at the moment, so she decided to linger quietly in the DADA classroom, finishing up her notes slowly, so she could later read them. She smiled and shook her head to herself--This was the perfect Professor! An obvious sense of humor, actually KNOWS what he's talking about, without being totally pompus. She laughed quietly to herself, and finished her notes.

Closing her notbook gently, she slipped it into her beige shoulder bag, along with her quill and DADA book. She stood, the class was nearly empty now. Ponessa looked to the Professor, "Truly insparational lesson, sir, I look forward to next class...Not trying to be a suck up.", she added truthfully. She hated it when people thought she was just sucking up to them, although she had always been a bit of a teacher's pet. "Good day, sir.", she nodded, looping her strap over one shoulder, and fluidly slipping out of the classroom. She lowered one hand to be sure she knew right where her wand was. She was ready for this.

Shana got a green badge from the basket and put it on her black robe.
