Chris looked up as someone hugged him from behind. "Hey Lizzie how are you?" He pulled the seat out for her and they sat down. "How do you like my acorn?" he asked her with a grin as he held up his blue glittered acorn with the smilie face on it. He began to stick two arms made out of little pop sickle sticks to the sides. "Adddhaeerrooo."

Lizzie grinned as he helt up his acorn. Wow Chris she giggled. It's very... glittery.. She smiled, hopeing he understood she thought it looked nice. You seem to be good at this, I don't really know where to start. I suppose I should get some eyes stuck first.. She picked up something that looked a bit like eyes from the pile of supplies she'd set down in front of her. What do you think of these? she smiled, then added Btw, what's that spell again? The glue-spell-thingy..?

She watched as he stuck arms to his puppet. Oh, that looks great Chris. With a smile she picked out some more stuff that could look like hair, mouth, nose and ears for her puppet. Do you think it's allowed to make the acorn a bit bigger? Would make it easier.. Thoughtfully she examined the acorn, trying to remember the right spells.

Chris smiled "Thanks Lizzie." and he laughed.

'Well the spell for the sticking would be Adhero and the one for making it larger would be Engorgio. I guess your allowed to make it bigger. I never heard him say we couldn't" he said smiling at her.

"Those look good." he said to her eye like pieces.

Emalyn studied her acorn and muttered "Adhero" under her breath. She then dropped the acorn into a little pile of orange glitter she had made on the table. There. The acorn now had orange hair. And green eyes. A perfect Irishman.
Emalyn smirked and looked around. How in the world was she supposed to make this acorn into a puppet? It was an acorn. It didn't have arms. It didn't have a flap to fit your hand through, to make it look like it was talking. She found herself studying others' "puppets" and then looking down at her own, head first in a pile of glitter.

Anna studied her materials for a moment, finally deciding that she'd actually forgotten two important details: arms and a broom. Leaving her materials on her desk, Anna headed back up to the professor's desk and grabbed a few more sticks and some tiny pieces of shredded straw. Sure that she'd remembered all her materials this time, Anna headed back to her seat, ready to get started on her acorn Quidditch player.

Anna's first step was to attach the little legs and arms to her acorn. She'd dress him later on when all the limbs were in tact. Anna dug through her supplies, being careful to look at the little sticks and find two that looked about the same size. These two would be the legs. Anna finally found two that were similar in diamter, but not in length. Shrugging, Anna raised her wand towards the stick. "Diffindo!" she said, cutting the stick to the same length as the other.

Content with the lengths of those two sticks, Anna positioned them where she imagined acorn legs would go. Picking up her wand once again, Anna said, ""Aaaaadddddhhaaaeeeeerrooooooooo." Awww, look. The little leg was secured perfectly to the acorn. Anna did the same with the second stick, and pretty soon her acorn was wearing two beautiful, brown, stick-like legs.

Tobi had so far managed to stick himself to the acorn three times. "Advexis," he said huffily, after three unstickings you would be huffy too.

His finger came loose. So did one of the leaves.

I hate my life right now.Tobi griped mentally. It was very un-Tobi to have these thoughts, so he looked around briefly to see if there were any shiny rocks hiding under desks, but he didn't see any. He was probably just tired and stressed between classes and homework and Quidditch.

"Adhaero," he said reapplying the green paper leaf, this time without adding his finger for a stylistic touch.

He held up his puppet-gnometruckle for inspection. It looked rather good so far, it needed legs though. He picked up one of the longer thinner sticks he had collected from the front desk.

"Adhaerrroo!" he repeated, sticking the stick -

"Again?"

and his sleeve to the puppet.

"This is going to be SUCH a long lesson."

“You’re doing that wrong you know,” Aggie said putting her acorn down on the desk. She reached over and carefully, with her wand, unstuck Tobi’s shirt sleeve from his puppet. “Be a little more dainty with your wand work,” she instructed (although she was one to talk about wand work). “And maybe you should roll your sleeves up so they don’t get in your way again?” She suggested as she picked back up her acorn and started adding bright yellow yarn around the bottom edge of the acorn cap.

This is going to be such a cute little fellow! she giggled to herself as she worked.

“Adhaerrroo,” she said sticking a few more pieces onto the arcorn.

Lizzie smiled back at him. Oh yeah I remember now.. Thanks! She concentrated on the acorn for a moment, pointing her wand at it while saying the spell to make it grow to a size rather like a big orange. That'll do she said happily, then easily stuck the two eyes on to it. You think it should have clothes maybe? Or is it just supposed to be the head of a puppet? she asked him, a bit confused.

Picking up a mouthshaped piece of.. something.. she used the Adhero spell on that too. Well, at least she was making progress, which was good news. And the acorn actually looked a tiny little bit as a puppet, at least if you half closed your eyes and used a lot of imagination.

"Well I dont know if its supposed to be just a head or a whole body." he laughed "Mine is just going to be a head for now." he then smiled at her. "Your's looks good so far."

Lizzie rolled her eyes sceptically and grinned. Yeah right.. It looks like a giant acorn with weird dots and a mouthshaped something.. what a joke. Continuing to giggle slightly she eyed his, saying While yours, on the other hand, looks great! Well at least I'm using spells, right? That's gotta be good in some way. She was quietly wondering to herself what they were gonna do with the puppet-acorns, and how on earth the professor had come up with such a funny idea...

Chris smiled at Lizzie. "Oh come on your's is really good also." he really liked her. "I wonder what we will be doing with these things?" he asked as he looked at his acorn puppet. And stuck some more yarn on the top of his puppets head with the Adhero spell.

Miranda had spaced out a bit. If they would have been using muggle glue, her wand would probably have been stuck on the acorn and her hand by now.

Shaking her head as to clear it, Miranda hummed and began to think of what to do next.
An acorn wasn't that big, she would either have to use it like a head or just make a minature puppet. Weeeeeeeell...
Miranda decided to rummage through her bag and was happy to find one lilac sock - the other one was missing, a bright blue button, two little stones and a stick.
Placing them on the table, lined up, she eyed them wondering how to use all the new items.

She pouted and raised her eyebrows, thinking. Then she began looking through the many pockets inside her robes. There must be something in here...

Lizzie smiled at him, not wanting to argue so she simply said Well thanks Chris with a bright smile. He was always so sweet. Yeah I wonder that too she agreed as she put some hair on top of her acorn, making it look slightly more like a puppet. She was getting rather good at the Adhero spell by now so maybe... Maybe the whole point is to simply figure out which spell to use for different things on the decoration..? she suggested with a smile.

Chris smiled as he added some more yarn for hair to his acorn. "I think Prof. Ashby had a good idea when he planned this lesson. It gives us a good oportunity to practice these spells."

"Hey dude, take a chill pill," Cale chuckled sliding up behind his best mate and Aggie. "Listen to your girlfriend. Do what she says and all that." Cale was still having quite a lot of fun teasing Tobi about his new found relationship with his other best friend.

"Adhaerro." He stuck a leaf to Tobi's forehead a chuckle, then went back to working on his acorn which was slowly looking a lot like Noland the gnometruckle.

Sarah sat looking at her acorn wondering what to do next.
Hmmm yellow..make it look like a yellow puppet....
"Sooty!" she suddenly said aloud,before shrinking back into her seat with embarrassment.
Eyeing those nearby in the hope that none of them heard her,she cleared her throat and carried on. "He was a glove puppet but..oh well...."
Picking up some small bits of yellow material Sarah wrapped it around the acorn and began sticking it down. "Addhhhhhaaaeeerooooo.There all done with that." She put it down on the desk while she rummaged around trying to find something to use for the mouth and ears.

Lizzie nodded agreeingly, thinking through some of the spells she knew and if they'd be of any use with the puppet. The "glue spell" certainly had been of great help. Being almost done with her puppet's face, she concentrated on the hair, thoughtfully, while giving Chris a smile once in a while.

OOC: I'm really sorry about taking so long to get this thing moving. I had some personal things I was dealing with.

Ian came bounding into the classroom after he realized that he had been late. He was panting heavily and sweating profusely.

"So...*pant pant*...sorry I'm late...*pant breathe sweat*...class. I...*cough*...found myself quite lost in...*sigh*...the bamboo forest."

He sucked in a big breath before moving on.

"I see you have all started decorating your acorns. I suggest you please hurry up, as I need to expedite the progress of this lesson."

While he waited a few minutes for the class to finish up decorating their acorns, he turned around to the blackboard and whisked his wand across it. Suddenly, the directions were gone, and two words were on the board.

Excito animans

After the black hair and the blue eyes, Evangeline had even managed to give her acorn!puppet red lips and a little dress, but now this was boring. The Prefect was actually considering what were the chances Ashby had simply forgotten about the class when he practically ran into the common room. EEP!

She smiled lightly as he apologised, setting her wand on the table. She was ready to go on, whatever that actually meant in that particular class. But it seemed he was giving them a clluuue. Sorta. "Excito animans.." Evangeline read under her breath, her hand titling to the side as she considered it. Oooooooooh ... that kinda sounded like they were going to bring their acorn!puppets to live! AWESOME!

Clifford had pretty much finished decorating his acorn. He hadn't done very much to it.. he didn't really wanna touch it more than neccessary. Horrible thing. The googly eyes and the red hair did look pretty funky though! WOOT!

And then Professor Ashby decided to finally grace them with his company. Gosh, that dude was really out of shape.. he hoped that didn't happen to all retired Quidditch players.. eh.

And what in Merlin's name did Excito animans mean?

John finished decoration has acorn, he had given it one eye and a mouth and some hair, he hoped that the Professor didn't mind but he couldn't remember how he was suppost to make the acorn look. He then gave it a cape and put on the cape the letter a, now it was Acorn Man the crime fighter from acorn land. He looked at it and decided it was a masterpiece and he hoped that nothing would happen to it, it deserved to be put somewhere safe.

Cedric raised his hand.."Sir..is that the incantation for the acorns..?"Cedric asked curiously..

Elizabeth had been passing the time waiting for the professor to arrive playing with her tiny acorn girl puppet thingy, but looked up as he came rushing in. Trying to keep a straight face as she remembered when Professor Ashby had attacked her in the dueling arena ages ago, she blinked. "I'm sure anyone could get a little lost in the Bamboo Forest," she found herself saying idly, before she snapped her mouth closed. He probably didn't want to hear that.

As he instructed them to finish creating their puppets, she started playing with hers again, looking up again as she heard people talking about an incantation and seeing that in fact, the professor had posted one on the board. Glancing at the first-year Huffie who had spoken, her green eyes then went back toward the front of the classroom. "Are we going to make our puppets move on their own?," she asked, raising her hand. At least, that's what the incantation made her think. That it was used for animating inanimate objects or something.

Daniel was so mesmerized with the book he was reading and the dancing dolls made from acorns in front of him that he didn't notice the Professor come in. He was almost startled when he heard the Professor's voice. He then straightened up but forgot to remove the charm from the acorn-dolls, which is still dancing a waltz.

He raised his hands, "Professor, are we going to animate the acorns?"

Looking up from her work Sarah saw an out of breath Professor Ashby run into the room.
Problems in the bamboo forest? If...you..say so.
We need to finish up quick huh? Good job I'm nearly done,just one more eye to stick on. "Adhaaeerroo." Placing it down in front of her to get a good look,Sarah ummed and ahhhed.
"Looks just like a yellow acorn with eyes,but...oh well,I tried."

Folding her arms she began paying attention to Ashby once more as he cleared the board and put up the next part of the assignment.
"Excito Animans" she read as it appeared in front of them. "We're supposed to make them move?! Oh heck...."
