John looked at his partner Ana and smiled. He had meet someone who didn't mind that he was Jacks brother. He smiled "Do you think we should move some table?" He was sure they were to do that. "I'm sure that Ia..Professor Ashby said he wanted them moving." He smiled hoping she hadn't realised that he was about to use Professor Ashby first name. He had been trying his hardest not to say it. Well hopefully the Professor didn't hear him.

Ok, these tables just needed showing who was boss, that was what Jake figured out. He took hold of the edge of the next table and gave another almighty heave, letting himself fall to the ground when it had moved far along enough. It hurt, but he got the job done. After a couple more tables, Jake stood up, a tad dizzy, and leaned against the table. He resolved to sit and wait for Professor Ashby to continue from now on.

But first. "Erm, yeah we are," Jake looked up at Kayla, before glancing over at Cameron and his partner, Dominic. "But... he's kinda mad at me since the Defense Against the Dark Arts tag thing... loads of people are," They even tried to flush my head down the freakin' toilet for playing by the rules... stupid Plymouth...

Jake looked down at his feet. "Loads of people are anyway," he mumbled, thinking back and noting just how different he'd been acting since that day at the Library especially. With a dark look, Jake turned and stared intently at Professor Ashby, waiting for him to talk. Big... scary Professor Ashby... oh yeah... he's off The List, and he's now... on... The Other List... Yeah...

"Yeah. we should. So it's supposed to use magic or just push?" she asked puting her hands on the desk next to her.

"Ian." He had said it without realising "Do you want us to use our wands or push?" He asked then realised what he had said. "I'm sorry Professor, I didn't mean to but you see you work with my dad and he told me your name." He hoped the Professor would just tell him not to do it but he had this feeling he was in big trouble. "Professor do you want us to use our wands or push?"

"we are first year so it's probably better just to push" she said.

"I think you are right." He smiled. "Okay then on the count of three." He said as he picked up one of the table and waited for Ana to do the same. He would cry if the Professor didn't forgive him it was a total accident and he wasn't sure that the Professor would understand. "One. Two. Three." He said as he lifted his side up. He knew that he would just have to wait and see what the Professor said to him so there was no point in worrying.

Ludo noticed Liz's way of moving the desks and smiled at his own method. "She's smart enough to pick the quieter way to do this..." he thought.

She made her way over as Ashby instructed them to partner up. He smiled and said, "Absolutely." with a nod. Hopefully working with her would take his mind off of the stress that had built up over the last few days.
"So will I be sticking you to the wall or vis versa?" he asked, jokingly.

Having been focused on moving furniture, Raiden hadn't even thought to search for a partner... now he was partnerless. He looked around the room anxiously, searching for someone, anyone, that was alone as well.

And he spotted Celandine.

"Celandine Toussaint," he said brightly, touching her elbow gently. "Do you have a partner yet? If not... want to be mine? Because... I don't have one..."

Obviously.

"Well, it appears just about everyone is partnered up," Ian said, after a bit of deep breathing. For the most part, he was back to his normal self, although he was a bit more prone to irritation now than he had been prior to the lesson.

"Now then, if you don't have a partner, do it quickly because it is imperative that you have one for this lesson...unless you can levitate and simultaneously be very flexible..."


OOC: If you don't have a partner, just pretend. You can also ask Ashby. He doesn't bite. I promise!

He waited for everyone to finish partnering up and continued on. "For this part of the lesson, you will be learning a sticking charm, and then you will be unsticking whatever, or whoever it is that you stick."

A grin crossed his face. Not an evil grin. Just a grin.

"So, first of all, the incantation for this spell is this: adhaero. That's ahd-high-row. Everyone got it? Say it a few times and then I will continue."

The chorus of incantations filled the room, and as soon as the stragglers were finished, he moved on. "In order to perform this spell, you must trace the outline of whatever it is you are sticking with your wand while saying the incantation. It is extremely inconvenient for pranks, though, because you must say the incantation only once, but continue saying it until you are finished tracing the object. Otherwise, the spell is relatively simple and you should all get it fairly quickly. First watch me."

He conjured up a piece of paper and held it against the wall with his hand. He took his wand and traced it over the outline of the paper. "Aaaaadddddhhaaaeeeeerrooooooooo."

He let go and the paper was stuck. "Simple, yes? Convenient? Not quite. Now then, I want you all to quickly practice this charm with some paper on the wall before we move on. Once you get your paper stuck, we shall continue on to the partner activity. There is paper on my desk."

Suddenly the glue bottles were gone and there were stacks and stacks of paper on his desk. "Feel free to take as much as you need."



Hopefully this would go quicker than the unsticking charm.

"Ok, Raiden but be careful not to touch my skin." Cela told him, tucking her long sleeved top into her gloves.

"You got the spell right? Avexis? A-weck-siss?" Cela checked, "And you point your wand... I got extra glue for later."

Kayla made her way up to the front of the classroom and took some paper from professor Ashby's desk and then brought it back to where she had been standing before. Okay she said the incantation in her head a few times while moving her wand around the paper to get a good feel of the required actions.

Feeling somewhat confident, she took a deep breath. "Aaaaddhhhaaaeerooo" she moved her wand around the paper as she did this. And woot the paper was stuck to the wall, unfortunately so was the sleeve of her robe. "Craaaaaaaaaaap" she quickly pointed her wand at her sleeve, "Avexis." Her hand came unstuck but so did the paper, Kayla sighed and tried again, "Aaaaaadddhhhhaaaaeeeerrroooo" making sure her sleeve was out of the way, she moved her wand around the paper and this time she was successful.

Qaz went and grabbed a couple pieces of paper...

She placed the piece of paper against the wall with her hand, then taking her wand and moved it over the outline of the paper. "Aaaddddhhaaaeeerrrooo."

When she removed her hand, the paper stuck to the wall, but she could tell that it wasn't stuck all the way around, so she traced the loose part and said 'adhaero' once again. Now it was completely stuck.

'Avexis' and it was unstuck and floated down to the floor.

Qaz picked it up and held it against the wall...tracing a little quicker this time "Aaaddddhhaaaeeerrrooo." When she removed her hand, it was completely stuck again.

William stood beside his partner and listened carefully to the professors instructions. The incantation seemed easily enough, though as he watched his face fell and he blinked. Wow, that's a lot to do for a spell, there go my ideas he mused as he walked over to the desk and picked up a small stack of papers before walking over and handing a bunch to Rian. "Here." he said simply, smiling at her.

He pictured performing this spell on a human,trying too stick the person on the wall or floor. It would take one long breath and concentration to perform it correctly though and he chuckled at the mental image of someone stuck to the wall calling for help.

Jake scurried up to the front of the room to get some paper, which he proceeded to bring back to the wall he had been near. Using his hand to hold the paper up against the wall, Jake cast the spell to stick it there, tracing the outline. "Aaahhhhhhhhddddddhuhaeeeeeerooooooooooo," he spoke, trying to ennunciate.

Pulling his hand away, Jake noted that the spell had in fact worked... but not in the desired way. Jake's hand was stuck to the paper, and the paper was NOT stuck to the wall. "What?!" he exclaimed. I traced the paper, though... HUH?! He flapped his hand, trying to shake it off, but no. Plus, he'd forgotten the other spell.

"Aaaaaaadhaaeeeeeeroooo," Jake tried again, s-l-o-o-o-o-w-l-y pronouncing the spell, paper against the wall and doing all tha jibber jabber. Of course, he hadn't unstuck the paper on his hand for some stupid reason.

"Oh no," he whispered, pulling his hand away and HOPING against pure HOPE that his spell had failed. But no...

Jake's hand was stuck to the paper, which was stuck to the wall... and he'd forgotten the unsticking charm-a-ma-bob.

Pulling and pulling was doing Jake no favours. He even put his feet up on the wall to push himself backwards. But no. Even though he was standing on the wall, and pulling 'til it hurt. Jake was stuck.

To a measly piece of paper.

Which was admittedly stuck to a wall... but... details, details...

"Oh no!" he groaned, petrified of getting in trouble. What do I do? WHAT DO I DO?!

Raiden withdrew his hands immediately and nodded, then went silent and listened to the professor. Sticking a piece of paper to the wall? He drew out his wand and, with a glance at Celandine, traced the edge of the paper.

"Adhaero," he said softly drawing the word out as he traced, and when he drew his hand back, the top paper was clinging to the wall. Just barely, but it was staying, at least...He grinned at Celandine. "Your turn?"

"Avexis" Kayla said pointing her wand at the paper stuck to Jake's hand. "You might want to remember that for next time" she chewed on her lip to keep from laughing. It wouldn't do his confidence any good if she laughed at his attempt. "At least you know how to do the sticking charm" she observed keeping a straight face.

Cela took a piece of paper and looked at it, repeating the incantation a few times. "Ahd-high-row. Ahhhhhhhhd-hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh-rooooooooooooooooooooowwwwww." Celandine mentally traced the paper, tryin to figure out how long she'd need to say the charm for. And how long... if it were a saddle.

Satisfied, Cela placed the paper on the wall, holding it steady with her gloved hand, "Adhaero! Cela drew the word out long enough to trace the paper with her wand. Pulling her hand away the paper was of course stuck perfectly to the wall.

She flicked her wand to remove the paper, "Avexis!" and Cela caught it as it fluttered to the ground.

Hmm.

Cel went to get more paper and busied herself cutting and sticking pieces until she had the outline of... a saddle?

"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaadhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaeeeeeeeeeerro oooooooo." Well. It could be done, but Cela would have to take a few deep breaths to be able to do more than one.

She looked up at her handiwork and let it down, "Avexis!" all the component pieces fluttered to the ground and Cela busied herself scooping them up.

"Easy enough." Cela told Raiden.

With a crash, Jake fell to the floor, his hand suddenly free. He had still been pulling at it with his feet on the wall when Kayla unstuck him, and the sudden freedom took him by surprise. "Thank you," he grinned uneasily, first looking at Kayla, and then the wand, and then glaring at his own wand.

"Stupid stick, sticking stuff to structures," he muttered, resisting the urge to throw it at something. Jake frowned, and looked back up at the paper on the wall. "I guess," he mumbled, noticing that it had, in fact, worked, except when his first attempt went a tad Hunky Dory.

Cale blinked in confusion. Greattttttt, now she was speaking in code again. GAH. Before he could open his mouth to say anything, Ashby had given them instructions for the next part of the lesson. He stopped pushing and looked over in Ashby's direction, watching as he demonstrated the spell. Well, that seemed easy enough. His big task would be trying to figure out what exactly was bothering Anna. He hurried up to Ashby's desk and grabbed a few sheets of paper for her, walking back to her quickly and handing her the top sheet.

"Can't act like...what?" he asked, sincerely confused over the whole situation. Then, a lightbulb clicked inside his head. OHHHH! She was jealous of Bunbury! Oh, silly silly Anna. He chuckled and shook his head. "THAT'S why you were so upset? Anna, she's a teacherrrrrrr. You honestly think I'm considering leaving you for her or something?" he asked with a smile. "I just want to impress her, especially with my lacking Herbology grade."

"Now, let's move onto this spell," he said, not wanting to get in trouble for chatting, especially since Ashby was in a bad mood now. He held his paper up to the wall and used his left hand to support it, and took his wand in his right hand to trace the paper. "Aaaaaaaaddddddddaaaaaaaeeeeeeerrrrrrrrooooooo ," he said, making sure to draw out the word until he finished tracing the paper. Viola! It worked. Grinning, he stepped aside for Anna to try.

Flicking his wand, Raiden murmured "Avexis" and his piece of paper became unstuck and fluttered toward the floor. He grabbed it and, with a look at Cela, held it against the wall again.

"I didn't get it quite right, I think," he said softly, turning his head to focus on the wall. "I'm gonna try again."

Tapping his wand against the corners until he found one he liked, he breathed in a rather large breath. "Adhaero!" he said forcefully, making sure to draw the word out just long enough to reach the point at which he'd started again.

It worked better this time, he mused.

"I'm not really that great at charms, I think," he said softly. "Avexis."

Well this was embarrassing. The Slytherin boy hadn't even seen him or even heard him, most likely in his awkward question. About to turn and look for another partner - most likely Mystery Girl - the fifth year blinked when he heard the young voice of Cameron Karsten in front of him.

Oh. The Slytherin First Year and Quidditch Player was speaking to him. With a surprised expression and then an exaggerated, 'Sureeeeeee' that only one of age eleven or twelve could properly pull off. Pleased with this new partner, he was about to say something else when the Professor spoke again.

Oh. They learned the unsticking charm and now for the sticking charm. He would be able to stick the first year quidditch chaser to the wall? Maybe. Not a bad idea.

Simple spell. Excellent.

"Ad-hero" The Hufflepuff prefect rehearsed silently. Once he was prepared to stick the paper to the wall, he walked over towards the desk where the redheaded herbology professor had been sitting with others hardly minutes prior. Picking a few sheets up, he handed some over to Cameron. "You want to practice first? Or shall I?"

She couldn't help but laugh this time, Jake was a crack up. "Okay let's try it again" she said as leant down and grabbed him by the arm and hoisting him back to his feet. "Without actually saying the incantation, show me your wand movement. And you shouldn't be like that to your wand, it is apart of you. It will work so long as you concentrate on the spell and your actions."

"Can't act like...yeaaaaaaaaah, now you're catching on," Anna said, nodding when Cale finally figured out the reasoning behind her little mood change. "I have every right to be upset, Cale. Who cares if she's a teacher? How would feel if I strolled on over to Truebridge's office and proceeded to woo him with my fabulous flirting skills?" she asked, halfway joking. She had actually already flirting with Truebridge---quite dangerously, mind you---but that had been months and months ago. "Well,Igotkindofjealous," Anna said, rushing the words out so quickly it seemed as if she'd only said one word and not an entire sentence. "Anyway, just drop it for now. If I lose a single point, I'll literally suffer from heart failure. We'll talk after class."

Anna accepted the paper from Cale and held it against the wall with her left hand. With her right hand, she raised her wand and traced the edges of the paper. "Aaaaadddddhhaaaeeeeerrooooooooo," she said, feeling a bit foolish over the way she was sounding. She glanced at Cale out of the corner of her eye, winked, and then refocused on the paper. "Oh, I did it, too!" Anna happily exclaimed. "Do you think we should try it again?"

As Kayla pulled him back up, Jake brushed himself off. "Thanks," he muttered again, checking that both feet were, in fact, firmly on the ground before looking up at his saviour Kayla.

Holding a piece of paper, to the wall again, Jake traced the outline of it, which was a whole lot easier when he didn't have to say the stupid spell at the same time.

"But... the-" stupid, idiotic, needs-to-get-a-clue, wimpy, twig-of-a- "-wand NEVER let's me get anything right first go... It's eviiiiiil I tells ya... has snidget something in it... and everyone knoooows those things are evil... probably one of Professor Morgan's snidget minions..." Jake rambled on, eyeing the wand disdainfully. At the moment, the only thing he liked about it was the sticker that Professor Ashby had stuck on their with a Permanent Sticking Charm.

Naaaiiiice little froggy... Ribbit...

Cam made a weak smile at Dom and wondered if the boy had read the Quill and knew what he tried to do with the Professor Morgan case. Well hopefully he forgot about that or else he'd be pummeled by him. OK, so Dom was a bit scary sometimes, no wait he was scary MOST of the time to Cam since he looked so... Well he looked scary to him and was a bit glad that he wasn't going to go against the Hufflepuff for the first match. There were the Gryffindors still though. Bleh.

He turned his attention away from Dom and then looked at Professor Ashby while he explained the sticking charm to them. Where was it going to be useful, Cam didn't really know but he was expecting something like, suupah fun to do with this. "Adhighrooow? Adhighrowrow." Hehe, RowRow.

Taking the papers, he quietly tried to imagine that his wand was a pencil and carefully carved playful stick-figures. The spell needed a lot of deep breaths and Cam really couldn't say stuff so long. It was probably why he was a horrible singer and how he couldn't swim. This spell seemed simple, but hard at the same time. Did that make any sense?

"Youuuu, puhleaseee!" He was making his words long now, to practice the spell. It was better to see an older student and possibly fail so he could learn from his mistakes. Hahaha.
