Professor Shackleton sensed the students might be getting tired, seeing as so few were putting in the effort to retrieve the color swatches. She decided to post the scores for this turn and give them a short break to regroup and catch their breath. Quote:

William took this break as a chance to fix his hair, which had quickly become a nasty tangle of knots lying flat on his head. Running his fingers through it a few times he soon was satisfied with the outcome and shook his head clear before glancing around at the others as if asking what they were going to say. So he had hair issues, who didn't? Flying messed up hair, one more strike against the long growing pro side of flying versus not flying. He soon felt ready to start again and looked to the professor for more instructions. |
Cela was ready to go again too. She remounted her broom again and idly flew in little circles. This was the best class ever. EVER. Gosh, all those people that didn't take arithmancy 'cos they were scared it was too hard were totally missing out. |
While the students had taken their break, Professor Shackleton whipped up and down the pitch, enjoying herself a bit. As her long blonde hair whipped around her, Macadrian shot like lightning through the sky toward the ground and came to an abrupt halt just a foot from the ground. "Ready to get going again? We're going to change it up a bit and make it more difficult. I'm going to give you two numbers at once. You must obtain the corresponding gemstone for the first number and the corresponding color swatch for the second number. Bring them both to me in the center of the field and I'll tell you if you're correct or incorrect; however, if you're incorrect, I won't tell you which of the two is wrong... so you'll have to do some clever thinking. You only get 3 tries maximum, so choose wisely." Professor Shackleton rose higher in the air, "Everyone up and ready? Good. Let's begin, then. I want the gemstone of the number whose challenge is to love unconditionally and to live with tolerance and compassion. I want the color swatch of the number whose greatest challenge is to focus his or her emotions on higher goals in tune with spiritual laws, rather than trying to solve each and every problem of humanity. GO!" |
Oh my goodness! Gemstone first! Celandine sped to the gemstone end of the field and spent a moment trying to figure out which one it was. The gemstone she finally selected, Cela wasn't entirely sure of, but she tucked it in her glove and zoomed toward the other end of the pitch. The colour swatch was easier, Cela thought. And she scooped it up and headed back to the centre of the pitch, looking a tad nervous this time as she slid the gemstone out of her glove and held up the colour swatch. "Are... these right, Professor Shackleton?" |
William listened carefully as Shackleton gave them further instructions. His eyes went wide as he gathered that more flying was needed. Well, if that was the case, fine he thought putting his leg over the broom and kicking off from the ground. At his now normal height he flew off at a steady pace towards the gem area, looking around for the gem in question. Thinking he'd found it he carefully gathered it up and flew back to the color swatch area and looked area, frowning when he couldn't find the color he needed. He finally spotted it and swooped down, stopping a few inches from the ground and picking it up. Shaking his head he once again flew back to where the professor was and kept on his broom, hovering half a foot from the ground as he showed her the two items. "These look right." he said happily. |
Herminny zoomed across the pitch and grabbed a pretty clear white opal stone and brought it to the middle and asked, "is this one it". |

ZoMG! Another hard one! Celandine sped to one end of the pitch to select a gemstone first, and then to the other to pick up the colour swatch, Nervously returning to the centre with both held out for confirmation, "Professor? Are these... right?" |
William's brain was beginning to hurt now as he once again sped off towards the gem side of the pitch, thinking hard about the weird clue she had given them. For the life of him he couldn't figure it out, either it was too simple or it was to difficult for his tiny brain to gather but he took a shot and picked up a gem that looked right before turning carefully and flying off towards the color end of the pitch, knowing this one already. Picking up the color swatch he flew back to the professor, a bit winded as he held out the gem and swatch. "Professor, are these right?" He asked carefully. |
Herminny bolted to other side of the pitch and grabbed a pretty pearl gemstone and a shiny glossy color swatch and brought them to the middle of the pitch and asked, "Is this correct". |
Celandine made a little eeep! when she realised her mistake, and she zoomed down the pitch to get the right gemstone, mentally berating herself as she returned to Professor Shackleton and held it aloft, the resolve to re-read her textbook clear in her eyes. |
Herminny was mortified when she realized she had gotten the wrong gemstone and quickly raced across the pitch and and and excanged the wrong gemstone for what she believed was the correct one hoping she was right. |
Wow confusion. With her head workingg like crazy she flew to the end of the pitch searching first for the gem and then for the colour. She climbed to her broom and flew back to the professor. "Is this gem and colour correct?" she asked |

Celandine decided to take a moment to think this one through before swooping toward the gemstones. She still wasn't entirely confident in her choice, but Celandine carefully picked up the gemstone she thought it might be and tucked it in her glove before zooming to the other end of the pitch and scooping up the colour swatch that seemed the best fit. That done she turned and headed back toward the professor and presented the gemstone and swatch, "These ones, Professor?" |
For the last time Ana lifted in the air towards the end of the pitch. Once she was not sure but she collected the gemstone and colours and flew back "Is this correct?" |
Cedric flew into the end of the pitch and he pick the gemstone he think is correct."is this right,professor.. |
Herminny quickly flew to the other side of the pitch and grabbed two stones and 2 color swatches and brought them to the middle of the pitch and asked, "Are these the correct ones"? |
Touching down to the ground, Professor Shackleton dismounted from her broom to post the scores from the latest turn: Quote:

Herminny leaned back on her broom to land and when she reached the ground she dismounted from her broom and left it there and then she left the pitch thinking about how fun and creative the Arithmancy lesson had been. |
