| Mrs. Alex Turner *asterisks user* Secret Door WOOOHOOO!! Evangeline almost did a little dance when Professor Pierce said she had been right AND gave Slytherin 10 points! Result! She had never really thought of it ... but it was true. Aguamenti conjured something ... yet, it was known as a Charm. "Maybe it's because people thought it fitted better in the Charms category? It's not normal for water to come out of a wand, after all. And since the spell doesn't change the inherent nature of the water ... maybe they thought it didn't make much sense for it to be considered a Transfiguration spell?" She thought out loud, with her hand raised. Ack. She had no idea. |

No. He had absolutely no idea. "Conjure?...but...It's water? And it couldn't 've been made out of thin air...so it must've been taken from somewhere..." Jack just kept rambling on for a few minutes before he realized he was being completely useless the entire brain-tiring search for the answer.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Meredith Natasha Lillian Adams Third Year | Sirius Lee B. Harry dayz! Meredith listened to what her classmates said. Personally, she tought it was a combination of the two. The wand movement and that you didn't begin with a visible substance which you changed. Hestitating, she raised her hand. "Well, isn't it a combination of the both? I mean the wand movement and that you start with no visible substance?" she answered.

Personally, I think it may have something to do with the fact that there is both hydrogen and oxygen in the air as it is, and the spell simply causes the two to react in the air and produces water. One could also argue that because of my opinion, it technically isnt a transfiguration spell either, but at the time the spell was created, perhaps they didnt know about molecules in the air." Alex explained to the class as she walked around, glad they had come up with some interesting ideas. "Now, if you have any other theories, please share them and after that, we will move on to learning the spell." she finished as she stopped in front of her desk and sat down on it. |

He didn't feel quite so smart when the Professor started explaining it though, and blinked when she started going on about molecules and hydrogen and oxygen and Merlin knows what else. WHUUUT!?

| Wowza! And this was the exact reason why Transfiguration was her favourite class. It was never easy--there was always a challenge. Like now, for instance. The entire explanation Professor Pierce had given them about Molecules, Hydrogen and Oxygen was not an easy thing to catch.
Feeling rather proud of herself for having gotten most of it, and smiling a small -but a little bit smug- smile, the young Ravenclaw took notes swiftly.

Whitney took down some notes while listening to everyones answers. As she looked around the classroom most of the students had confused looks on their faces. 'Hydrogen and Oxygen. It sort of makes sense.' "I think I understand what you're saying. It's a transfiguration spell because it transforms hydrogen and oxygen to form water, right?" she was hoping she was catching on. 'I guess 3rd grade science really pays off'

Well, this was no good. He had his magic plastic bowl.. and his wand.. and had no clue what do do! Clifford shiftily looked around the classroom, figuring his options. Well, he could always ask the Professor.. but he didn't want to look like a dummy. Likewise with Evangeline - she was so smart.. he didn't want to hold her back or anything! Then there was Bone Crusher.. well THAT was completely out of the question.. she'd probably beat him to death with her plastic cup. Eh.
Making up his mind, Clifford gave a rather small girl not to far away a poke in the arm. "Pssst. What's the incantation again? I've got a bad memory." And he was stupid.

Daphne stood up, walked to the front of the room, and took a cup from the Professor's desk. Back at her seat, she put the cup down and reached for her wand. In typical Daphne fashion, she slowly practised wand movements before even attempting the spell. She always needed to be sure of everything, lest she produce an embarrassing mistake. Fully satisfied with her progress, she pointed her wand inside the cup and firmly said "Aquamenti!", clearly mispronouncing the spell. It is therefore unsurprising that nothing occurred. Frustrated, but not discouraged, Daphne proceeded, ignorantly casting a spell with gibberish.

Astrid went up and grabbed a bowl off of the professor's desk and returned to her seat. She was happy to be dealing with a spell that she was actually comfortable with and had performed before. She pulled her wand out of the inside of her robes and pointed it directly at the bowl. Then she cleared her throat and said, "Aguamenti" and watched as water sprang from her wand, into it. When the bowl was nearly full, Astrid laid her wand down and pulled out a clean tissue from her bag to wipe off the few droplets of water that had landed on her desk.

Patricia grabbed a bowl after going up to the professor's desk and returned to her seat. She looked apprehensively at the bowl: she had failed her attempt of this spell in CoMc, getting a burn from the firecrab for her mistake. She grabbed her wand a bit too tightly as she aimed for the bowl: "Aguamenti" she mumbled, not really believing it would work. And as before, a tiny spurt of water came out rather then the rivers the others were producing. She felt like a failure somehow. She aimed the bowl again and again; making a tiny splash was the best she could produce. Maybe she was pronouncing the spell wrongly? Or maybe, her wand was going wonky? She scratched her head and watched as others filled their bowls or cups.

He said it with a "ch" sound and had it ending with more of an "ee" sound. "Um...not quite right. Try saying it slowly first. A-gua-men-ti" she said, pronouncing it slowly. It sounded weird that way. "Aguamenti. Use a "g" instead of a q and use less of the "ee" sound at the end. With the wand movements don't just point, flick." Whitney felt weird giving someone a lot older and smarter than her directions on how to do a spell.

Having successfully performed this spell not long ago in CoMC, Mariel was feeling particularly confident about this class. She walked to the front of the room, retrieved a plastic bowl from the professor's desk, and carried it back to her seat, ready to perform the spell again. Pointing her wand at the bowl, she commanded, "Aguamenti!" She didn't know if the angle of her wand was off or she pointed it to forcefully or maybe she just stated the incantation too loudly, but the water came out of her wand too fast and splashed out of her bowl, effectively soaking the back of the robes of the older Ravenclaw girl sitting in front of her.

Eyes darting to other students, most having difficulty, she found herself feeling less annoyed. Perhaps it was a very tough spell, and it was simply normal for the girl to have difficulty... Lost in that comforting thought, Daphne felt cold water shoot into her back. She let out a squeal, louder than her previous outburst. Her face was now red with anger, not embarrassment, and she was ready to give whomever made the mistake of crossing her a piece of her mind. She swiftly turned around and briefly saw a small girl. "WHY YOU LITTLE BRAT!" she yelled, seething with rage. Then she vaguely recognized her as a reserve player on her team. It wouldn't be prudent to go off on a team mate like that. "Watch what you're doing!" she said through clenched teeth. She took off her robe, and hung it on the back of her chair, no sense ruining her blouse and skirt because of that young twit's incompetence. Daphne sat down and twirled her wand. She exercised the greatest restraint by not cursing that little girl.

She exercised the greatest restraint by not cursing that little girl. Eyes widened in horror, Mariel clapped her hands over her mouth as the now-soaked Ravenclaw spun around and yelled at her. Oh noes! It was the Ravenclaw seeker... um, Daphne, she thought her name was, having only heard it during practice. Well she certainly wasn't going to try to introduce herself now. This probably would not fare well for her Quidditch career either, especially seeing as how angry the girl had gotten. It would certainly make practices awkward. "I-I'm... really sorry... Daphne," she stammered. Merlin, she hoped she had gotten her name right. It would probably only make her angrier to get that wrong. Taking a few deep breaths, Mariel tentatively watched Daphne hang her robe on her chair and turn around. Sweet Merlin, she thought as she shook her head slightly in disbelief, it's only water. No need to get that upset.
Now she was apprehensive to try the spell once more. What if she ended up getting Daphne wet again? A second time might really send her over the edge. Making a small movement with her wand, she quietly mumbled, "Aguamenti," and rolled her eyes as the tiny trickle of water dripped out of her wand into the bowl.
