Chris opened his hand and swished flicked and pointed to his open hand and said "Sinstra Lumina." and a ball of light appeared in his hand. He flashed his winning smile

Miranda wa nervous. All the students were now practicing the spell. She didnt want to be t he odd one out. Ok, concentrate she told herself

Picking up the wand firmly, she started "Swish and flick and point, Sinistra Lumina" she muttered. Nothin happened. Again, "Swish! Flick and POINT! Sinistra Lum-" she caught herself almost shouting the words. She cringed hoping no one noticed.

Ok third times the charm...tranfiguration in this case. She snorted.
Swish, flick and point "Sinistra Lumina!" her jaw dropped as she could hear a small "pop!". She grinned and tried again

Freya turned as she heard some commotion, spotting a girl examining her hand. "Are you alright?" She asked her very quietly so as not to disturb the others, her voice slightly concerned.

Mariska shook her dark hair back a bit from her face, as it was loose today and only pinned up a little on the sides instead of her usual messy bun. She took her wand out, the dark wood shining a little in the light as she pointed it at her left hand. With a swish and a flick, she then pointed it directly at her palm and spoke the spell. " Sinistra Lumina!" She said, and she heard a faint crackle, and a small amount of light appeared in her hand. Dissatisfied, Mari tried again. Swish, flick and point..." Sinistra Lumina!" She said, a bit more intently this time. The crackle was a bit louder, and the ball of light was larger and more stable this time. She watched it for a few moments before closing her fist, smiling to herself with satisfaction. She performed the spell a few times more, until it was easy for her to do. Now, this one would be quite hard to do non-verbally, but to her, it was worth it. She would leave that for later though.

Since it appeared that other students had started trying the spell out, Elizabeth slipped her wand out of her bag. She had noticed Cale's little slipup, when he dropped his wand, so she made sure she had a secure grip on her own. No need for two prefects to look clumsy.

Opening the hand that wasn't holding her wand, she held it out slightly, palm upward, then took a deep breath. Swish, flick, point, Sinistra Lumina, she went over in her head, before actually going through the movements. "Sinistra Lumina," she said quietly as she pointed the wand at her outstretched hand. A faint crackle was heard, but the tiny light quickly sparked out. She sighed once, then tried again.

"Sinistra Lumina," she said, a little louder and with more conviction, once again pointing the wand at her hand. The crackling was louder and a ball of light appeared over the palm of her hand. She smiled, staring at it for a few seconds before curling her fingers into a fist and extinguishing the light.

Though the answer of Professor Pierce had been rather obvious, for it was very unlikely of her to make them practice that could potentially hurt them, Willow just had to ask and make sure. There was nothing wrong in asking, really. Giving a half smile to the woman, and a polite nod, the fourth year proceed to practice the spell.

Her mouth opened and closed a few times before a frown slid into her features. Ridiculous that she still thought the little light could burn her after Pierce's confirmation that it could not. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Don't be such a baby. It won't burn you. And if it does--well, getting burned can't be that bad, can it, Willow? A voice inside her head --that sounded a lot like her brother's, mind-- whispered. Though it was just inside her head, and there's was no way that Branimir could actually be saying that to her, this did not stop the fourth year from picturing her oldest brother snickering after having mouthed these words.

Not it would just hurt a lot, you idiot. Willow felt like saying out loud, but she would probably looked incredibly stupid by doing so. Keeping her mouth shut, and making a mental note to kick her brother next time she saw him (Yes, because Willow was sure that somehow he was responsible for her hearing his voice) the girl shook her head, and pointed the wand at her hand for the second time.

Swish, flick and point. She could do that, naturally. Doing the mentioned movements, the young Ravenclaw said in a clear and confident voice whilst pointing with her wand at her pale hand, "Sinistra Lumina." And it had worked, of course. Because unlike Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures, Transfiguration was Willow's best subject. The girl cringed a little just at the thought of the first two.

A rather small ball of light was now on her left hand. Rather pleased with herself, she waited for the Professor's next instructions.

Asteira pulled out her wand and made small movements like the professor had instructed. Seemed simple enough. she mouthed the words as to made sure she was pronouncing them correctly before actually trying the spell. Yep sounded right...Time to try it. "Sinstra Lumina." she said as she heard the small crack that the professor had said it would make if done properly. their was a light coming from her wand as she started to wonder. she put her wand on the table as she raised her hand." Professor." she called a little as she then continued." Is their way you could make it bright enough to blind someone. Well just for a short period of time...nothing permanent."

She giggled as he turned around to show her the light that illuminated from his hands. Winking back at him she said, "very good." Then it was her turn. She muttered, "Sinistra Lumina" and showed her illuminated hands to him, smiling.

Of course I'm not alright, I just burnt my stupid hand! was what Rapunzel was dying to say...but she would never be that rude to another student. Well, unless it had been Willow Meanie Kovac asking her.

Instead, Rapunzel sighed and turned towards the other girl. "I'll be fine, I'm just...really, really bad at Transfiguration." She sighed again and glared at the wand sitting in front of her. "And I don't think my wand is meant for it, either."

Amy sit never still concentrating until see noticed a flash of light beside her. Turning her head slightly to her right she noticed a gryffindor boy holding a ball of light. After a small shy, she continued her concentration before reattempting the wand movements.

Miranda started and turned to see her house Quidditch captain across the other side of the classroom clutching her hand. Oh noes... she hoped she wasnt in too much pain, that spell better not have hurt her and made her unable to play quidditch or something. She didnt dare go over to her incase the professor didnt like that sort of "behaviour" and took points from Hufflepuff...

"Unless the person was an inch from your hand and staring directly at it, no. And even if the were, it would probably only make you see spots. Why would you want to blind someone?" she asked giving the girl a suspicious look.

'Wand, not meant for it?'She thought. "Don't be silly." Freya said politely, and still quiet, "Just give it another go, you'll get it. Just don't kill yourself first alright?" She said with a friendly smile, hoping the girl wouldn't take her too seriously, she always said things like that.

Freya heard the professor talking, 'Well,' Freya thought, 'it could certainly help if you needed to escape from something. Giving you a chance to flee while your opponent was temporarily unable to see.' The girl had made an interesting point to ask the question.

Chris laughed in his head as the professor asked why that girl would want to blind some one chris asaid to himself oh i dont know she's a slytherin.

"Sinstra Lumina!" Ari said as she pointed her wand at her right palm after flicking and swishing it gently. This time a satisfying crackle enveloped the air before a small burst of light appeared on her palm. She stared at it, blinking and frowned. It almost reminded her of another spell, this one producing bluebell flames. Shaking her questions away, she closed her fist slowly, watching the light disaapear.

Shaking her head to clear it, Helena picked up her wand again. Swish, flick, point. Helena said, Sinistra Lumina. It sparked slightly and feebly went out. Sinistra Lumina! She spoke much louder. There was a flash of light and a much-too-loud cracking noise and the light, again, went out. Grinning ruefully, Helena said, once more, Sinistra Lumina. There was a reasonable cracking noise and a perfect light appeared on the end of her wand.

Maddox chuckled at her and said "thank you." He grinned at her cating spell skills and said. "very good my love." He went to applaude her but remember his hand was still alight.

Alex sighed and walked back over to the Slytherin girl, "Dear, the light is suposed to be in your hand. I suggest during class you pay attention to instructions and not to the male population of my classroom."

Asteira looked at the professor as she gave her a look. What.. she was just simply asking out of either curiosity or future use. You never knew when you could use a spell to blind someone. Their were loads of reasons. Which none of them required getting into trouble. Trouble... not her. " Its not necessarily that i would specifically want to blind more than i need to blind them. It could be used as a defense sort of spell. If it blinds someone from attacking you...well the spell value has just increased. Besides it being a light and everything." she then gave her a small shrug." Which the fact that it doesnt blind people is good for torturing cousins." she added with a small smile. Their were plenty little brats running around in France that she could use it on. Annoying creatures that ran around during family gatherings tugging on her clothes and yelling so loudly that it made your ears bleed.

"Sinstra Lumina." Chris said clearly. He waited and yet nothing happened. He sighed. He straighened up took his wand and again said. "Sinstra Lumina." And still nothing. Alright this time for sure. he thought. And once again he said "Sinstra Lumina!". Then he heard a crackleing noise. Yes! finally. He looked at ball of light in his hands.

She smiled back and said, "thanks. But I can't come close to you." She winked again. She was feeling a bit flirty today.

Miranda was determined to get t he spell righ. Flexing her fingers she picked up her wand again.
Swish and flick and point! "Sinistra Lumina!" she said clearly. Her eyes grew wide as sshe saw a small sparkle appear. She giggled, it made her palm tingle.
Again, concentraaaaaaateee

And a swish, anda flick anda point! "Sinistra Lumina !" she said and she gaped as a small ball of light appeared, but dissapeared just as fast. Miranda pouted, but grinned and went to try again

Elizabeth grinned as Asteira responded to the professor asking her why she would want to blind someone, and mentioned cousins. As long as she doesn't try that on me, she thought.

Maddox smiled and said, "too bad for you." He winked and turned around closing his hand to make the light go away. He decided to try it as a non verbal. He swished, flicked, pointed and said in his head 'Sinistra Lumina.' Once he got it he smiled.

Helena closed her eyes and sighed bitterly, but didn't comment. She silently bit her tongue in her mouth. As if boys were more important than schoolwork, even if they were cute. She put on her best false cheery voice and said, I'm trying to work my way up to that, Professor. She glanced at Freya before looking back at the teacher.
