Piper smiled and she jotted the information down in her notes, Swish, flick and point. Crackling sound She had gotten down with a smile. She was really itching to try this spell out.

Tanjiro nodded, taking out his wand. He wrote down the instructions and hastily waved his wand several times while casting the spell.

Astrid held her wand firmly in her hand and cleared her throat. She held out her left hand and pointed her wand at it. Then she swished and flicked and thought, Sinistra Lumina. That seemed simple enough. She couldn't wait to try it out.

Cale looked around. A few people, including the girl next to him, seemed to have started practicing yet. Cale wasn't exactly ready for that yet--wand movements gave him a little trouble sometimes. He picked up his wand and just practiced the movement. Swish, flick, point. Swish, flick, point. Cool. He could do that.

Until the wand slipped from his hand and accidentally fell with a loud clatter on his desk. Oops. Blushing, he picked it up again and practiced his wand movement as if nothing mortifying had just happened.

Marianne listened carefully and nodded. She looked at the people around her, before trying the spell for herself. It took her four attempts, but eventually she managed to get the soft crackling sound when the light was produced and the correct wand movements.

Maddox watched as everyone around him was thinking and practicing in their minds. Magic came easy to him usually. It always had. But he decided to join in the memorization of the spell and the movements. 'Swish, flick, point, Sinistra Lumina.' He thought to himself.

Anna picked up her wand and got it into position, ready to cast the spell. Swish, flick, point..."Sinistra Lumina!" she exclaimed. Nothing. Not even the tiniest spark came out of her wand. She glanced over at Astrid, who was holding a sparkling ball of light in her hand. Seeing Astrid with the light gave Anna that extra push she needed to try just that much harder to get the spell right. Swish, flick, point..."Sinstra Lumina!" she said again. This time, a sparkling ball of light appeared in her hand. She'd done it!

Allie nodded at the Professors instructions, and took notes. She couldn;t wait until she tried the spell out.

Mariska listened closely to each of Professor Pierce's words, repeating the directions for the spell in her head as she watched. Swish, flick, point...simple enough really. But Mari did see the importance of the spell now, especially in dueling or self defense.

Looking around again, she noticed that only a few students were trying. Hoping to put the practicing as late as possible she began to write down notes, Swish, flick then point...Like Wengardium Leviousa, but pointing at your haaand.....a crack sound should be heard... she scribbled, passing the end of her quill under her nose. She stopped as it was almost making her sneeze

Head tilted slightly to one side, brows pulling together slowly in concentration, and her slender fingers curled around her beech wand, Willow gave the words that Professor Pierce was uttering her complete and undevided attention.

Most of the time, Willow was fairly good at Transfiguration. Never had any sort of problem with the spells that were taught. However, for some reason, this one sounded quite complex. Probably because Professor Pierce had said something about crackling. Huh.

"Professor Pierce," Began Willow politely, with her hand in the air, "Is there any way that I can burn my hand while practicing this spell, ma'am? Perhaps I'm being silly for thinking such a thing, but the whole crackling issue reminded me of fire."

She was kind of zoned out, but a loud clattering noise snapped her back to reality. She turned and looked over at some Gryffindor guy, a prefect it seemed. He hand dropped his wand. How stupid could you get? She couldn't help snickering at him a bit. Really now.

She looked around and everyone else was trying. She gave a little shrug and took out her own wand. She said the words in her head a few times while perfecting the whole swish, flick, point maneuver. She was used to just swish and flick that she didn't want some kind of hybrid spell that caused levitating light...though that would be pretty neat.

"Sinistra Lumina", she said firmly, while doing the swish, flick, point motion. She smirked satisfactorily when she heard the crackling noise.

Wow! chris said to himself that was pretty cool He knew he would like this class. He wrote "Swish, flick and point" in his notes and looked up waiting for the professor to continue.

Alex walked up behind the girl, leaned over her shoulder and whispered, "We're not doing the Lumos spell dear. Next time you should pay attention instead of consentraiting on other students."
"Yes, just think about how much light you need, though you wont be able to make it extremly bright."
She smiled, "No dear, its only light and even though it sounds like fire, it wont burn you."

Helena looked up and smiled. Thank you for bringing that to my attention, Professor, though I was just practicing that first. I'm new to English spellwork, you see. She smiled again.

Helena had studied this spell before she came to Hogwarts and confidently whispered, Nox. The light on the end of her wand went out with a light pop, and she smiled. It was then that she heard a loud clattering beside her. She looked around to see Cale picking his wand up off the floor.

Helena giggled quietly, but loud enough for him to hear her, and blushed quickly. She turned the other direction immediately after, letting a long sheet of reddish brown hair fall over her face to shield her embarrassment from Cale.

Thats good chris said to himself at least he doesnt have a chance of burning himself.

Astrid saw Anna standing next to her with her hand all lit up. She envied her prefect's courage and thought that maybe she would try once too. So she pointed her wand at her hand again and THIS time, when she swished and flicked, she said, "Sinistra Lumina" out loud as she touched her wand to her hand....Nothing happened. Darn.

She furrowed her brow and decided to try again. Concentrate Astrid, she thought to herself. Swish, Flick, point, "Sinistra Lumina" CRACK She smiled as she looked at her hand, illuminated beautifully.

Allie held out her left and, and with her right, she swished and flicked and pointed.
"Sinstra Lumina."
She watched as she heard a cackling sound, and a light appear in her hand.
She smiled and clenched her fist, to put the light out.

Swish, flick, point Chris thought. He took his wand and did this. Cool that wasn't hard at all.

'That's certainly good to know.' Freya thought as she put down her quill and put her attention back onto the light in her left hand. Concentrating on having less light, Freya smiled with delight as the orb seemed to dim right in front of her. Thinking of more light it once again intensified. She turned back to her notes and continued to scribble notes quickly, she was rather enjoying this class.

Maddox swished, flicked, pointed, and said "Sinistra Lumina," In nothing more than a whisper. The lovely light illuminated his masculine hands. He smiled and turned to show lima. He winked at her as he did so.

Taking her customary seat on the floor - something she always did before learning a new spell, she crossed her legs and closed her eyes, images of flames flicking her skin gently as she flicked and swished her wand, pointing at the end. Her mind was a customary blank as she drowned the others emotions, knowing if she hadn't been concentrating enough, the spell would backfire and perhaps cause damage.

Taking deep cleansing breaths, she slowly opened her eye, keeping them slightly closed so she could still concentrate as she performed the spell without her wand. After a few tries she felt ready enough to give it a go. Standing gracefully, she stretched and looked around as if this were an everyday occurrence.

Feeling just right - and not feeling anything she shouldn't - she picked up her wand, took it loosely in her left hand and swished it a bit, feeling the flexibility ever present. Nodding, she took her stance - another thing she always did - and held out her right hand ready to receive the spell. "Sinstra Lumina" She said in a clear voice, swishing and flicking her wand before pointing it directly into her palm. A flicker of flame erupted from the tip of her wand before dissapearing. Not bad for her first try she thought smiling slightly as she watched it vanish.

Melinda was so excited to practice the spell, she would practice it verbally in class, then outiside, nonverbally.
It felt weird, to have her mind reading powers back, she must now just concentrate herself on not intruding someone's head. She sighed and listened to the professor.

As she could see around, people had already started practicing, though, only by the professor's instruction, she would do it.

Cale could hear that Slytherin girl next to him giggling at him, and he blushed, both in a mixture of embarrassment of dropping his wand, and the Professor snapping at the girl and telling her to concentrate on her spellwork rather than other students.

He picked up his wand again and practiced his wand movement for another minute before he finally felt ready to try the spell. "Sinstra Lumina," he muttered. There was a tiny spark in his palm, but not a full ball of light. Sighing and concentrating even harder, he tried again. "Sinstra Lumina," he muttered yet again. This time, he heard the fateful crackle and blinked as a ball of light appeared in his hand. He grinned and let it hang there for a few seconds before closing his hand around it and extinguishing it.

Swish, Point, Flick. Swish, Point, Flick. Swish, Point Flick, Rapunzel repeated to herself. "I can do this," she muttered, ready to actually try the spell now. Swish, Point, "Sinistra Lumina!" FLICK!

Rapunzel tapped her wand to her left hand and waited for a cackling sound. Nothing. "Hokai, I can do it again," she muttered, more determined this time. Swish, Point, Flick, "SINISTRA LUMINA!" Punz poked her hand with her wand this time, jabbing herself in the palm.

"Yowwowowow!" she whimpered, cluctching her right hand to her left and dropping her wand. "That tttingles! And it hurts!" She frowned and glanced at her palm, where a slight black mark had singed her hand from the spell. "Ugh. I'll never get it now." She sat back down and picked up her wand, setting it on the desk in front of her. Why even bother - clearly she was meant for Charms, not Transfiguration.
