Stepping through the doorway, above which hangs a sign with a severed boar's head, you enter the seedy pub. It's dark, dusty, and quite uninviting. It looks like a place for dark wizards.

This is definitely not a suitable establishment for underage witches and wizards. The barman gives you an icy cold stare and you flee from the bar.

This means no witch or wizard attending Hogwarts is allowed in this bar!

Headmistress Rae was looking for a quiet table, even if that meant sitting in a filthy pub that was devoid of normal witches and wizards. She cleaned off her chair and a patch of table for her arms and then sat primly at the table with a very large glass of pink lemonade. Ahhh, silence.

Rey was enjoying the novelty of being able to enter the Hog's Head after walking down from the school. The last time he'd walked down from the school, he'd had to sneak in. It was a decent bit of transfiguration he did to disguise himself and his friends, too... if he did think so himself. He grinned as sauntered up to the bar and ordered a butterbeer (of all things).

"Ah, Professor Bontecou," Rae was polite even if she loved her solitude. She waved him over. "Would you like to join me?"

He beamed and took his dusty butterbeer over. "I'd love to. I hope I'm not interrupting but, I've been wanting to talk to my old mentor ever since I got back," he grinned as he slid into the seat across from her. "Congratulations, by the way."

"I should be congratulating YOU, but thank you," she assumed he was congratulating her on Mo. "So what do you think so far? It's odd to be on the other side of the desk, isn't it?"

"Very much so. Actually, it's more odd to be a professor with all.. well,, two... of my old... well, not really old either..." he paused and took a deep breath. "It's odd to be considered an equal with such as yourself and professor Lainey, ma'am."

"I take better to being called old than Professor Lainey, so bite your tongue," she wagged a finger at him. "It's hard to feel old with an infant in the house, right? Or awake, certainly."

"She was a bit touchy," he laughed. "You aren't that much older than I am. But, it's still weird. I can't believe how great Lainey looks. And you look great, too. Are you really married to Branxton from the Department of Mysteries?"

"I am," Rae smiled with delight. "You know Doyle? We have three children. I thought that was why you were congratulating me earlier... the baby, Marcus Orion, was born not all that long ago."

"It was. I just had to hear it from you. I don't really know your husband but, I've seen him a couple times and heard of him, of course. It's great you've got kids now. I'll bet they're real cute."

"The twins are devils, and I hope Mo stays angelic and doesn't morph into one of them," she sipped her lemonade. "Have the students been nice so far?"

"Yeah, they're fantastic. I met a girl obsessed with Dora the Explorer which is really cute. We're working on making a map of the school. I'm not sure if you remember me as a student but, I still have a bit of navigational trouble.

"I remember how late you were for your interview, and I suspected that was why. You got a blind eye on that respect. I think a map is a very good idea."

"Just a little near-sighted really," he said with a broad smile and a tip of his glasses. "I think maybe it's to balance out the fact that I'm good at anything else I put my mind to. You can't be good at everything so, I'm really bad at finding my way through buildings. The map should help, I lost the one I made in school, but, those stairs are tricky and the algorithm of it movements changes from year to year. So, I'll have to work it out again." He was rambling again. Oops. Rey took a sip of his butterbeer.

"You didnt' really just tell me you think you're good at everything," Rae was definitely laughing at him. "That means I'll have to beat you at duelling."

"I am good at everything. That's why I'm an invaluable member of the auror team. Fortunately it's my turn to take some time off high-risk duty," he said. "I'll bet I could take you. It's been a while since you've been in the field."

Rae actually gaped at him. He had to be pulling her leg, because surely he couldn't be this conceited. Perhaps he WAS that good, but to brag on it? "You'd hex a wife and mother?"

"Well, if it was duel I'd have to, right?" he winked. "But, no, I wouldn't presume to pit myself against the Headmistress. It's bad form to hex the boss."

"Among other things," Rae said quietly. "I should head back to the school. Have... any students asked you about treasure?"

"Treasure? No... Why would they be asking about treasure? Anything specific? There's ton of treasure all over Hogwarts if you knew where to look... and how to get there," he laughed again at himself.

"Yes, well," she cleared her throat with embarrassment. "This treasure was put there by a sort of secret society, and they need the students to help find it. I'm afraid my brother, the Minister, will grow impatient and come after it himself."

"A secret society? Sounds like fun. Do the kids know they're needed? A treasure hunt sounds a lot better than all the trouble we had back when I was a boy," he laughed.

"There's some sort of book or something that has to be found first, and I know there are several students who should already be looking for it. I would like anyone who wants to be out there looking."

"I'll spread the word if I notice anyone looking. Were you going to make an announcement or something about it? Or is it not supposed to be common knowledge?"
