Lucas wandered down to the herbology gardens. He was still wearing his little green hat and his bookbag. He had some seeds in his book bag that his great grandmother had giving him for his birth day. They were very special seeds and Lucas wanted to plant them.

He walked past the rows and rows of other student plants. HONK, Lucas jumped three feet in the air at the sound. He looked around and a plant was honking at him "Thats not very nice." He told the plant wagging his finger at it. He moved faster past it till he came to some unclaimed patches.

The little sign said Western Planter He took his bookbag off and opened it. He pulled out a felt bag and opened that. Inside were red seeds that looked as if they had dragon scales all over them. He dug six little holes in the soft brown earth and dropped them in. He covered over his seed and gave the dirt a soft little pat.

He went over to the student shed and got a watering pot and filled it with water. He made sure he water each of the six little mounds that he made. Satisfied with his work he gave them another look and promised to be back the next day to check on them and then he left, turning back on his light on his hardhat.

Hayden wandered around for a bit longer than what she was use to. She should have been reading about Herbology right about now not walking around the gardens. As she looked around the room she smiled at all the plants. Walking around she found an unused spot of dirt in the Eastren Planter and wondered if it would be okay for her to plant something.

Theo wasn't sure what he was doing in the Student Gardens. It seemed like a very odd place for him to appear. He had a look at the pretty plants trying not to get too close. He only had a little head, and something could eat him. He spotted something growing in the western planter. They looked very odd. And rather wriggly. He took a step closer to the new plants.

Hayden decided she would bring down some seeds later and she turned to leave. She spotted Theo on her way out and smiled."Hey Theo."

Theo smiled when he saw Hayden. He waved at her, "Hello Hayden. What are you doing here? I don't actually know why I am here. I guess I am just looking around."

Hayden shrugged."Herbology is my favorite subject and I wanted to look around a bit.How have you been?"

"The teacher is very nice. But his office door hurts. It gave me a big bump," Theo said. He lifted up his fringe to show Hayden. "I have been ok. Apart from da bump. I still have your choclit frog. I nearly eated it. But I didn't want to get full," he carefully pulled it out of his pocket, "How have you been?"

Hayden frowned a bit,"I hope the bump gets better." She smield at the chocolate frog card she'd given him."I've been okay. A little sleepy. Theres a lot of school ground to walk around."

"There is lots. I haven't been everywhere yet. I went to a big tree. And I went to Mr Masterson's hut. And dat is it really," Theo said, "I don't even know where da Quidditch Pitch is, and I am meant to do tryouts dere soon. And I don't know how to play eivver."

Sienna sighed, taking a step into the gardens. It brought back a sense of nostalgia, like godzilla Mother's garden back at home. Flowers were abundant, and cherry trees lined the acre. Taking a deep breath, she smelled everything - the dirt, the flowers, the cherry. Being in uniform made it all seem sort of weird though - she would have been in a normal skirt and a sweater. Maybe jeans and a teeshirt. But then again, she was not at home anymore. She was here, at Hogwarts. Sighing, she closed her eyes. And listened. For something other than voices. The sound of nature, the sound of birds and the wind.

For silence.

Ohhh, how Hugo wished he were in his favourite comfortable sweats, rather than the itchy uniform he was forced to wear. His fingers scrabbled at the corner of his jumper, pulling at the material, an unimpressed expression on his dazzling face. Herbology was one of the most enticing subjects Hogwarts had offered him. So it was no doubt that as he dawdled into the Student Gardens, his mouth opened just a little, and he let out a small "wooow." Eyes fixed on all the beautiful rainbows of colour, his mouth stretched into a smile.

Wow.

It was...woah.

And then he noticed the little TEEEEENY girl from the train. Grinning widely, Hugo tottered over to her. "Heeeey Sienna." He breathed, squeezing her arm affectionately as he appeared behind her. She'd stopped the journey to Hogwarts being mind numbingly boring, so she deserved his friendliness.

Sienna was breathing in the peaceful air, the smell of the dirt bringing her into a sense of calm. She loved being outdoors, not for the 'fresh air' or whatever, but... The nature, the sound of nothingness. Her eyes were closed slightly, and she was listening for the sound of perhaps a bird, maybe some other creature...

Suddenly, a hand squeezed her arm and she jumped slightly, turning around...

OH.

It was him. Hugo.

Sienna smiled. "Hello." She replied politely, a small grin on her face. He was the same (obviously.) Even the uniform looked lovely on him - The jumper, trousers, everything looked dazzling on Hugo. Anything would, anyways.

Turning around to face the garden again, she smiled a little. "Isn't it lovely?" She asked quietly, taking another deep breath to smell the cherry trees.

Hayden nodded."I understand how you feel. Iv'e been to the pumkin patch and to the lake and here. I think thats all other than my common room."Hayden smiled brightly" Your trying out for Quidditch too?"

Hugo's grin matched the one on Sienna's face. He followed her gaze and beamed at the beautiful garden; perfection. "Yeah, it's really lovely." He winked at her, and shoved his hands into his pockets. Riiight. Now would be a good time to make small talk, no? YES. "Enjoying Hogwarts?" He asked, peering at her from beneath his lashes, and blowing a strand of hair from his face. Be cool Woods, be cool. He hummed a tune, whilst bending down to sniff an exquisite looking flower. Mmmmm, yummy.

This place really was magical.

Not just the garden, but Hogwarts itself. He just couldn't understand why his father stopped him from comnig here in his first year. It was just SO dazzling, and he wanted to fit in ever so badly.

Theo nodded, "Yeah I am. I want to be Keeper like my daddy. What have you tried out for?" He didn't know much about how to play, but he knew alot about it.

"I'm trying out for Chaser. My parents never played but my cousin did. She told me to wait until my second year to try out that way I can see if my grades stay up but I never listen." Hayden laughed at herself. She never listend to anyones advice anymore.

Lucas hadn't been back to the gardens since he had planted his seeds. He was excited to see what they had done. He hurried through the gardens. He waved happily at Theodore, he was talking to some other people and Lucas didn't want to be rude and interrupt them. He was sure him and Theo would meet up and play together.

He made it to his little plot of the student gardens and was happy to see the little sprouts that had burst up from the ground. They were green and purple and had dragon scales all over them. Lucas was so excited about his dragon orchids he would hardly contain himself. He daddy had given him a hand full of them when he came back from the dragon reserve and Lucas eager to see them blossom.

"My daddy played for da Ballycastle Bats. He is da head of Magical Games and Sports at da Ministry now," Theo smiled, "I was told I wasn't allowed to play Quidditch cos I am only small and dey don't want me to be breaked."

Theo saw Lukey enter. He smiled and waved at his best friend. He noticed that Lukey went over to the plants that Theo was looking at earlier. Those must be his.

"Thats really cool."Hayden sighed,"My daddy don't want me playing because he calls me his little girl. My mommy doesn't care she never liked Quidditch. But I don't care what they think. I think I'm big enough to make my own choices."

"My daddy plays Quidditch wiv my sister all da time," Theo smiled, "Dey do it in our garden. I watch him out da window. Me and Buzz do." His hand tightened on Buzz's.

"I wish I could watch someone other than my cousin play." Hayden shrugged."I mean I love being an only child but I hate being the only one who plays sports that aren't muggle related."

"You can have Nia if you want. She is my twin sister. I don't have any other ones apart from her. I would like a little baby bruvver dough. Someone me and Buzz can play wiv," Theo smiled, "I would huggle him lots and squidge him. And play wiv him."

Hayden nodded,"I've alway wanted a little brother. That way I don't feel so...I don't know how to put it. My mommy wishes I was just a bit more like a girl. You know someone who wears dresses all the time. I'm just not that way."

Raine walked over to the student gardens. She looked at so many beautiful flowers. She'd heard somewhere that students had created the flowers in this garden. HONK! Raine jumped at the sound made by one of the flowers. Sure, this was a school of wizardry, but she hadn't been expecting that!
"You scared me, little flower." she said to it. Somehow, speaking to the flower made her feel less alone. She sat down on an unoccupied near these flowers. She could understand why these benches were so unwanted, near the honking flowers. But they served her purposes, wanting to be alone.
Raine shifted her position so the other students wouldn't see the tears that streamed down her face. The gardens, not necessarily the flowers in them, reminded her of the orphanage where she'd grown up. Behind it was an empty area that had only dirt. She'd planted seeds of wildflowers and vegetables in an area back there.
Maybe they'll let me plant something here. she thought. Maybe I'll learn how to create new plants. Raine took a deep breath and tried to stop crying. Homesickness had hit her unexpectedly, but this was her new home. She smiled at the little honking daffodils. They'd been honking quietly, soothingly, trying to make her feel better. One flower now have an extremely loud HONK! and made her laugh.
