Seymour shook his head. "You don't have to say that, sire. I know full-well how talented and noble you are; you don't have to hide it to humor me. My ambition is only to follow in your footsteps; both yours and my elder brother's. Maybe one day I'll become at least half as amazing as the both of you." And that was his dream; but it was proving a bit hard to make it start coming true, what with all the complications. It was only his first day, and he had detention. At this rate, he'd never get anywhere. But maybe, just maybe... if he spent a lot of time in the dungeons... he'd improve his future Dungeon Master skills?

One could hope.

"Sire! You have not failed in your duty, sire! You have done the opposite, indeed. And..." His eyes grew wide when Will offered to serve detention for him. "You're off your head, sir. I would never want you to do that; you have too many responsibilities. I have none. I would take one hundred detentions rather than see you thrown down to the dungeons with the rats; you have not earned it. Your offer is incredibly noble, though--" He looked over to Erikson. "Yet another obvious example of Will's noble deeds," he said somewhat bitterly, shifting impatiently. Detention while less than a half hour into the feast... what would Emmett say?

Casper laughed again. "That's alright. When you think of it, you can tell me then." He assured her with a wide grin. "But just think about it, here, we will definately be getting snow in the winter. You will see it so much, you might just get sick of its icy goodness." He spoke in a good naturelly way.

"I believe I have the perfect detention, then. Will, I will shorten the detention, but you will join him." There was suddenly something very cruel to his eyes. "Will, you will have one opportunity to make your story truth, so that you may continue to tell it. I suggest you freshen up on your Herbology. I would hate to think it would be... lax over the summer."

Helena laughed. It wasn't the sort-of fake laugh she had been giving lately; it was a real laugh, and she couldn't remember laughing like that since a week prior to her parents' death. She was smiling and happy. It was like nothing had ever happened. It was clear that Helena was where she was supposed to be.

I can't wait to see it. I'm so used to the warm weather that it'll be a good change for me. I'm sure I won't get sick of it just yet. Not for a few more years. She giggled. That's when I'll wish I was in the blazing heat again. Her blue eyes twinkled as she grinned once more.

Oh, greaaaaaaaat. Just... Perfect. "Herbology. Yessir." He nodded. "I shall do my best, sir, and be... Yeah." Why did he get the feeling that this wouldn't just be... swinging from vines? Suddenly Will was wishing he hadn't been in a storytelling mood. Or that at least he hadn't been moved to help the little chipmunk. Dangit. Professor Scare-ick-son detention-- good job, Will. His pop would be so proud. Not.

No... he wouldn't. He's a professor. Seymour shook his head. Will was probably just going to have to do extra credit work. That was it. But then... "And I, professor? I do not know much about Herbology yet, after all..." He awaited a response, dreading the waste of time that was detention. Honestly!

There was something very dark to Drago's look then. Something that hadn't been seen in his previous terms in Hogwarts. "Well, that shall be a surprise. Don't worry, young one. You'll... survive."

Seymour furrowed his eyebrows. Hmm. A surprise. When it came to detentions, surprises were not good. They were good with presents, and parties... but detentions?

Not so much.

'You'll... survive'? "I should hope so, professor." He was probably going to order his army of the undead to attack. Or maybe bring a fully-grown adult dragon in that he'd been starving. Or maybe he'll bring a clan of undead dragons. He wouldn't have put it past this professor.

Seymour Addams was in deep waters indeed. Deep, sea-monster-infested, impossibly cold, disease-carrying waters.

"Now, as I see that the Headmistress has finally released us, I will trust young Will here to guide you to your common room... in the dungeons." He smirked and made his way out of the Great Hall. He'll need to get the supplies to offer to the new Potions Master.

Will sighed and nodded. Missed pudding, too. Figures. "All right, first years... Follow me to the Slytherin common room!" he stated with authority, trying to seem enthusiastic. Man, was he going to get it from his parents when they heard. Detention. He could practically hear pop's howler now. "Seymour-- sorry about that... Really. A detention is no way to start off, but... we'll survive, like he said." He gave the boy what he hoped was a reassuring smile, standing up awkwardly. He couldn't wait to change out of his armor-- too bad he hadn't found Jai, he had hoped to impress her as a knight. But right now, all he could think was that he was hot, disappointed in himself, the metal was starting to chafe in bad places, and he really, really, really needed the loo.

"Yes, sir." He nodded, turning to Will. His slight disappointment with him had mostly vanished, so he was nearly as enthusiastic as before.

He was already standing from confronting Erikson, so he just joined Will as he stood, bouncing excitedly. Despite being in detention already, he was excited about being here at Hogwarts-- and now going down to his common room. He actually figured he would take the detention proudly; after all, he earned it standing up for Will, and that was enough for him. "It's not your fault, sire. We will survive, god willing... and you can prove to the professor that you do have all the talents you say you have. You can show him that you are not a liar like he says he is." He shook his head, beaming, and then sighed. "Cheer up, sire. You know what they say..."

Will smiled a little wearily at the boy. He really didn't deserve the respect and hero worship one bit. "Call me Will... and no, what do 'they' say, Seymour?"

Seymour smiled a bit wider, looking quite amused. "...Some things in life are bad-- they can really make you mad... Other things just make you swear and curse..." he sang, stifling his laugh as best he could and trailing along at Will's side. "When you're chewing on life's gristle... don't grumble, give a whistle... and this'll help things turn out for the best..." He stopped himself there and fell silent, not wanting to torture the prefect too much. He merely resorted to whistling cheerfully, hands in the pockets of his robes, as if there had been no incident with Erikson at all.

Poor Will.

Will's jaw dropped. "The bright side. Right. I'll keep it in mind, young squire." He patted him on the head gently. He just couldn't help himself... he took up the whistled tune, whistling along as he led them toward the common room.

Lucas looked up as someone called for all the first years. It was a boy that didn't look any bigger than little Lucas. That made him smile not everyone was big, and funny things came in small packages. He walked over to the boy and tugged on his robes so he would notice him. "I'm a first year. I'm Lucas, Lucas Greenwood." He told him.

At being called 'young squire', Seymour could've absolutely squee'd. He tagged along at Will's side with a spring in his step, whistling. Hogwarts was quite alright, really, despite the one evil professor and his clan of the undead. It was like... he was finally home.

ooc: To the Common Room!

Gratefully, the professor had walked away. Smiling inwardly to herself if took Helena a few moments to realize that everyone around her was getting up and moving out of the hall. Blushing, Helena turned to Casper. I trust to see you in the common room in a few minutes, then?

Helena left the sentence hanging with a big smile on her face and stood up hastily. She rushed over to where Will was directing First Years and broke into stride beside him. I hope you don't mind I following you, too. I have to learn the way to the dormitories sometime. She laughed and flashed him a brilliant smile that sparkled through her eyes.
