Running her fingers through her hair Vannie looked up at Punz and couldn't help but giggle at what she had said. Flirt with lots of guys? She didn't actually know that many guys? Well There was Hugo and Terry. But they were Miles' friends. That would just be really harsh. And did she really want to flirt with other guys?
"Yeahh, She smiled at the thought. "But I don't know that many guys," She admitted, as she blushed a little. It didn't really help that she had found Miles straight away, she hadn't had time to see any other boys.

Thinking about it, she probably wouldn't be able to flirt with other guys. She have to think of how to do it. It wasn't like that with Miles. But then could she really do that to Miles probably not. But then again he had done that to her.

Vannie was giggling now. That was good, er, better. "I could always help you out..." Rapunzel said slowwwly. "I mean....er...do you know Ella Stone, by any chance? Sixth year Huffie?" Haha, El could sure help Vannie learn how to flirt, if the girl really wanted to.

Vannie looked a little scared when Rapunzel said that she would help her out. Well she hadn't been expecting that. "Errm...No," She blushed a little. She actually didn't know that many Hufflepuff's. That was probably pretty bad. "Why?" She asked, sounding a little confused.

What, did I say something weird? She's looking at me funny....Punz blinked at Vannie for a moment and then smiled again. "Ella knows everybody, trust me. All the boys. And she's a lot of fun and a great distraction. We must find her." She rubbed her chin, wondering where the prankster Puff could be....

"All the boys?" Vannie asked in disbelief. That was a lot of people. Oh this was definetly going to keep her mind of the situation. "We must?" She smiled a little, it looked like they were going to go and find her now. At least she wouldnt have to bump into Miles or anything.

"Yes, all of them." Punz nodded, not even caring how large an exaggeration that was, and skipped towards the owlery entrance. "C'mon, let's go find her!" She giggled a bit evilly and then skipped down the steps, hoping Vannie was behind her.

Penny walked in looking to see if Jazz was back yet. She looked around and did not see him. Just as she turned around she heard his hoot. She turned back around and smiled. "Hey you!" she said as he landed on her shoulder. Penny scratched his head and he hooted softly. Jazz stuck his leg out to her with a note. "From Preston?" she asked. After she took the letter off his leg she gave him a treat. "Got enough in you to fly to Paxters?" he hooted softly as she asked. "Of course." she giggled. she tied the letter to his leg gave him another treat and watched him fly away.

"Okayy," Vannie shook her head a little but followed Rapunzel out of the owlery anyway. She wasn't quite sure what would actually come of this but anything to stop her feeling all depressed like she was.

Whitney quietly walked up the steps to the Owlery; until her mother got her her own owl she'd have to use one of the schools. Thinking ahead Whitney'd written the letter at home. She took it out and went over it one more time.

Teary-eyed Whitney walked up to one of the school owls, gave it a treat,the letter,and a picture of herself to send to her parents. Soon her parents will know she's okay. Soon they will have smiles on their faces.'Soon.' "Soon."

Tasha hesitated as she reached the threshold. She wasn't sure what she was going to do now.

The letter was scrunched up slightly from her grip and she wasn't sure if she really wanted to do this.

'Oh well...' She thought as she tried to steady herself, her hair turning Blue in the process. 'I'm here now...'

She walked in and America flew down straight away.

''Take this to Uncle James and Aunt Lily please...'' She said and America hooted softly.

She watched the owl disappear into the clouds as the words from the letter echoed round her head.

She shook her head and turned, heading towards the door.

The door to the owlery opened, and Rian walked through it. She was holding a letter. she looked around and found her black horned owl, Fairy, sleeping. After calling the animal down, Rian opened the letter to read it once again.

Fairy landed on Rian's shoulder just as she finished rereading the letter. She quickly tied it to the owl's leg and gave the owl a treat. "Take this to Aunt Jessica, please," she told the owl. Fairy nipped Rian's ear affectionately then flew out the window. Rian watched for a little bit before turning around and exiting the owlery.

“Come on, Xeno. I really need to send this letter.” She was trying and failing to coax Xeno into taking this letter to her father, but the stupid owl was sitting there, out of reach, ignoring her. “Look, I’ve got treats.” She fished some out of her pocket and waved them in the air, but Xeno was still ignoring her. What had gotten into him? He was a wretch, but he’d always delivered her letters before.

She sighed wearily and pulled out her wand. This was quickly getting tiresome. “Accio Xeno.” Oooh, it worked. With a screech, Xeno came hurling towards her and she managed to grab him. She had not, however, anticipated the fact that he would maul her with his claws. Ouch. She let go of him, disgusted, and stared at her arms. Great. She looked like a victim in one of those muggle horror movies.

She tucked her letter in her bag, obviously having more important things to deal with thanks to evil owl. Her first thought was to go get this healed, but they were only scratches and Cassandra probably had enough kids to deal with. She pointed her wand at her arm and muttered a quick aquamenti to rinse away some of the blood. Now what? Should she go and bandage it? Oh, wait. That spell. Cassandra had taught them that scratch heal spell in Charms. Now, what was it? She had to think for a minute, but remembered. She pointed carefully at one of the scratches on her arm and said “Erasum”, doing the proper motions along with it. She smirked when the cut healed, quite proud of herself. She repeated the process with the remaining scratches, being careful to reverse the wand motion when she switched hands. Success!

Even though the damage was repaired, she was not in the mood to send a letter anymore. Or rather, not in the mood to fight with her owl. She shook her head and gave Xeno a glare before turning and leaving.

Sneeze walked up the owlery and put a piece of parchment of on his owls, Phantom, leg.
It read:
Dear mum,
How's the baby? Are you all right? I'm doing fine so... well, I gotta finish some homework. Sorry for all the questions.

Camira walked into the owlery anxiously. She had tons of treats with her and she walked quietly over to where Xeno was sleeping. "Xeno, I need you to deliver a letter", she said softly, hurriedly sticking out the treats. Xeno huffed but took the treats and gingerly stuck out his leg. She quickly attached the letter before he changed his mind. "Alright, I need a reply by today. Don't leave until you get one."

History of Magic homework was in, so Evangeline had all the time in the world to look for that eagle feather and talk with the professors. Well, right now anyway. Pulling the strap of her bag further up her shoulder, she thinned her eyes as she scanned the floor of the owlery, looking for something that resembled an eagle feather. Ack, this place was filled with feathers! Hermes, her snowy owl, came to her and she petted her absent mindedly. "I'm not here because of mail, Hermes. You haven't seen an eagle feather lying around, have you?"

Oh great. Now she was talking to owls. Clearly, all that studying that messed up her brains.

Brushing her owl away, she walked further into the owlery, wrinkling her nose at the smell. Yuck! Maybe she should do a summoning charm, but she didn't want to risk to take off all the feathers of the eagle she could see flying outside. Bleh.

Just then, her strap slipped off her shoulder and her bag fell to the floor. With a huff, she bent over to catch it ... and saw it.

Wearing a warm smile, the roundy-shaped Divination Professor made his way towards the owlery. It had been a while since he'd contacted the Mrs. and he thought it about time he'd do so.

It was then that Professor Kapoor noted a spelling error on his letter to his wife. He dug into his deep wand pocket and pulled out his wand to perform a charm which would correct it. Oblivious was he to the tussle that had errupted between the owl and the eagle.



With the letter corrected, Kapoor turned to the owl, who by that time had chased off the eagle...well, almost completely. There remained from the tussle, a singular and bright shinning eagle feather non-chalantly placed upon the floor of the owlery. Kapoor attached the letter to the owl, who then flew off to deliver it. Watching the flight of the owl for a minute, Kapoor then turned around and headed back to his office.

There, on the floor, surrounded by random owls feathers was a rather singular looking and bright shinning eagle feather. It was so bright in the spring sun she wondered how she didn't see it before. Hastily, she picked up the feather and placed it on her bag. 1 down, 3 to go. Woohoo!

Standing back up, she looked around one last time and made her way out of the owlery.

Reaching the top, she collapsed into a bench and breathed heavily. On her way up, she had practically cried her soul out. Her face was tear-stricken, her hair was mess and her mouth tasted foul from the tears. Only one thing had survived the climb undamaged; the letter.
Sky immediately flew down to her, his eyes full of concern. She folded the letter neatly and attached it to his leg, careful not to crumple it up. Once it was in place and secure, she pulled Sky to her and hugged him gently. Hugging owls wasn't the most cuddly thing in the world, but Sky was her best friend. They remained like that for a few minutes until Rachel had calmed down enough to let go. She hadn't been crying, but she had been heaving up dry sobs.
"Give it to him, Sky. As soon as possible because he needs to reply today or tomorrow," she said hoarsely and walked with Sky over to the window. Nipping her ear affectionately, Sky took off into the direction of the setting sun. Sighing, she turned away from the window and made her way back down slowly to the common room, completely exhausted from the emotional ordeal she had just undergone. If he says no, I'm going to need to be taken to St. Mungo's. I'll be a complete wreck.

What. A. Bloody. Year!
He'd never been so bogged down with work. Surely his family thought he was dead, impaled on a broomstick in a tragic flying collision or some such, as he hadn't written in months. It wasn't VERY long before he would be home, but at least he could pen a quick note and assure them that he was fine.


Tobi sealed up the letter and wrote his home address in Glastonbury carefully on the envelope he tucked it into. He wandered over to the corner where Isolde, his trusted barn owl, slept and gave her a gentle poke.

She hooted disdainfully tucking her head back under her wing sleepily.

"And just what have I asked you to do for me all year?" he chuckled at her laziness. "Don't be like that. You get to see Caroline, I know you like her, better than you like me, even."

At this news, Isolde straightened up and stuck out her leg to accept the letter.

"There's a good girl." Tobi affixed the letter and gave her a treat for her efforts, Isolde hooted appreciatively and took off, cuffing him on the back of the head - her idea of playfulness, as she passed.

"That's really not funny, you overgrown pigeon..." Tobi grumbled under his breath.

”They’re not overgroan pigeons,” Aggie said jumping onto the last step of the volary stairs. She teetered unsteadily there for a moment, flapping her hands at her sides trying to balance out her wobbliness. She managed to steady herself and then with a surprisingly real sounding hoot stepped into the volary.

“They’re not scavenger birds for starters,” she said as a Scops Owl flew down out of the rafters to meet her. It landed on her outstretched arm. Aggie had a knack for walking into a conversation at the wrong time and therefore not fully catching the meaning of what she tended to comment on. As such, she didn’t realize that Tobi was being sarcastic. “They’re birds of prey.”

Tobi jumped a few inches into the air before turning to see Agatha DeWitt, one of the many subjects of his note home, standing like a scarecrow with a bird on her arm.

He chuckled. "I know that. The bird I like to refer to as an overgrown pigeon is Isolde, formerly my sister's barn owl that was bequeathed to me after she graduated. She just left, and I'm not quite stupid enough to call her a pigeon when she's around, or she'd do more than smack me in the back of the head with her wing, like she just did."

Tobi smiled gamely at her as he gingerly rubbed the back of his head.
"What are you doing up here anyway?"

”Visiting Jeeves,” She gave the stomach of the bird on her arm a nice stroke. “My owl.” She gave Tobi a smile that showed all her teeth. “He was gift from ma’ grand last year.” Most people didn’t know that Aggie’s grandmother was a famous owl trainer. Most people just assumed that their owls were born to send and receive postal packages, when rather they were groomed to do so from an early age by trainers.

“Looking forward to heading home?” She walked across the volary kicking up old dirty hay and feathers with her purple sneakers.

Tobi admired Aggie's smile and returned one of his own, lopsided, but it went all the way to his grey-green eyes just the same. "I'm not so much an animal person myself, my oldest sister is very good with them, and Isolde was my middle sister's so there is a bond there, but as for me, I'm better with anything that is positively inanimate. To be honest, I don't even visit Isolde much, but I think she likes it better when I leave her alone, she really is Caroline's Owl, they even have similar personalities."

Tobi shrugged at Aggie's question about home. "Yes and no. I love my home. Mum and Dad run an Inn, so there is always something to do, but I miss my mates during holiday. And my sisters are great, but they have a knack for being obnoxious. By the time the new term comes around again, the thought of coming back here has me behaving like a starving man who has just caught sight of a buffet."

Tobi had a nice smile. He needed to smile more then he usually did. The few times Aggie had seen him was mostly in passing and while he had been poring over textbooks with a look of complete desperation on his face. “Understandable, most animals gravitate to the people who mimic their personalities – or the people who seem to dislike them the most.”

”Why not visit your mates over the holiday then?” Aggie’s fingers plucked a shedding feathers from the bird’s back and let it flutter to the ground. Jeeves hooted a thanks and then walked his way up to her shoulder where he started running his beak through her hair. Aggie giggled – the act always tickled a little.
